Take her, Take her! Dr. McCloskey is a great professor and is very helpful. Very patient with answering questions and she is not too proud or impatient to help students with problems! But you still need to read your Book. Helps in preparation of tests!

Final grade based on 4 tests (lowest grade gets dropped) but if you do better on final, that will be your finaly grade. She's not the most intelligent, gets off topic quite frequently, and is boring.

love this teacher... she was awesome!!! I hate chemistry at first... but she makes it sooo clear and fun. Don't need to by book... just her own note book.. that should get you an A already! Drop lowest test grade. If make an A on final than that is your grade even if u made an F throughout the yr.

She is a born teacher. Buy her course pack and skip the text-book. She WANTS the students to understand the material and is very available if you need extra help. Very smart, but tolerant lady. Take this professor if you want to understand (and pass) Chemistry. If you do homework you'll get an A.

SHe is great! at first she is a litte confusing but I think chem is confusing anyway. She takes the time to explain and even the dumbest person will soon get it. Take her if you can.

Her notes and study guide are very helpful. She's very organized in her classroom teaching and her tests are straight forward. I was really nervous about this class but I have an A. I study a lot before tests because it is a lot to learn but her teaching is very clear.

Dr. McCloskey is fabulous. She's teaches from her notes and is always writing examples on the board to reinforce the info. She has tons and tons of office hours for students and is more than willing to help anyone. Her labs are the best! All her tests in class and labs are indentical to what she teaches. Undoubtedly best Chem teacher @ GPC.Exams are straight forward w/no tricks. Tech savy with her notes and lectures, offers plenty of outside the classroom help.I never even took High School chem and she's given me more confidence moving on to 1211. Don't hesitate to reg. 4 her class if your schedule allows it.

I like her. The way she teaches is very clear. she goes through everything and i don't think students have problems at all except they are lazy.

Wow, if you did not care for Chem before, you will certainly like it after taking her class. She is extremely straightforward with tests (no tricks) Very prepared: online notes with tape recorded audio lectures from the previous lectures. I failed before taking her and passed with a high B after. She is caring and wants her students to do well.:-)

Great Teacher

Mrs McCloskey is the kind of teacher most people would want to take for Chemistry. Her lectures are very straight forward and taught in a logical manner. All of her lecture notes are available on her website as is the audio. Her coursepack is also an invaluable tool and provides loads of examples and problems.

Yes, Chemistry is a hard subject. However, Dr. MC. explains the problems very well and gives you easy problems to practice. She makes CHEM a clear and understandable subject. I recommended! If you don't miss class and do your homework, you'll be just fine.

Very good teacher...Her class is very well explained and she will test u just like her homework or the old test that she practice on during class. I am only understanding chemistry because of this woman. I'm in another professors class (in chemistry)and learning nothing from him. He simply rereads the text to us and then gives exstreamly tricky tests!! He really is the worst professor. Then I found Dr Campbell's web-site (thank-GOD)Now I'm learning chemistry.

one of the best teachers I'v ever had. She recorded her class and put it online along with her class notes. You have PLENTY of chances to get the leassons, I wouldn't take a chem class with any other teacher. I got a 98 in the end.

As for Dr. McClosky's attitude: To anyone who has ever seen the show scrubs, Dr.McClosky is Dr. Cox in female form. She has his mannerism. Just like him she doesn't tolerate stupid questions, yet if you can get your act together, she is the BEST! Your great Dr. McClosky!

I registered for Dr. McCloskey's class because I received good feedback about her teaching. Honestly, I see a big difference in reality vs the feedback I received. I don't know what is behind the change. May be she is going through something in her life. May God bless you Dr. McCloskey. Everything will work out.

I took her for chem 1 and 2 and i got a's and b's, never failed a test, and I took chem with 2 other teachers at gpc, and they were horrible, she just puts it all out there and makes it easy to learn, you must attend her classes, or you will be lost, but thats with all chem classes. Take her, you will be greatful!!

Dr. Campbell was a good teacher. Just study hard, come to class prepared, and you will do just fine. Attendance is a must due to the large amount of info to absorb. I did not do as well as I liked in the course, this had nothing to do with the teacher but my own personal issues. I felt that she was very fair and considerate. Thanks Dr. Campbell.

She's a great professor. She may seem a bit unapproachable, but she really is nice when you talk to her. She posts her lecture vids online, which is really helpful. Her exams are like the homework problems. Keep practicing them and you should be okay. Organic chem is no joke.

Let's just say I passed OChem at UCLA a few yrs back, but left feeling very disheartened. After taking Dr. McCloskey for both 2641 & 2642, she has restored my faith in becoming a doctor. Teaches only what she expects u to know. Never needed my book. Even records lectures so u can go back over things u missed. 1 of the best profs I've ever had!

I took Dr. Campbell in organic I & II. She is very easy professor. Her style is straight forward, do her homework, go over her lecuters, and you will make a very easy A on her tests. You don't need to use the book at all. However,is that she is very selective in the covered topics. For students who intend to take the MCAt, I would recommend others.

Really Knows her stuff. She puts all lecture notes on line but this is not a substitute for attending class. Organic chemistry takes practice so do the homework and review notes on a regular basis. Keep up and you will do fine.

Overall I think Dr. Campbell is the best chemistry professor anyone could ever want. She is very thorough, goes over anything you need help with and provides after class study reviews for exams..(you won't find many professors willing to give up their time). Aka, Dr. McCloskey, is sooo intelligent and able to relay it easily, but she is also down to earth. She explains the ideas better than the book -she knows her stuff. She gives 4 tests drops 1 (lowest) and a final. She is soo innovative, she video/audio records the lectures, so it's not so bad to miss. She really cares about her students success.

FANTASTIC professor! I have taken Poteat, and I have seen Burkart and Kim teach. TAKE HER IF SHE TEACHES YOUR SECTION. She explains very clearly and doesn't assume that students have prior chem knowledge. Tests are based from her HW. Lots of short questions on tests so if you miss something it isn't 10% of your grade.

I took Dr. Campbell for lab and I am soooo glad I did. She is awesome. Her labs are so easy, and she is very helpful. She only gave one lab report the whole semester. She looks like she doesn't have a clue what she is doing, but she actually does. Take her if you want a good and easy teacher.

Taking this organic class as a transient student from a university school. Organic's no joke but Dr. Campbell is super helpful and even posts her lectures online! Which is the BEST thing ever. She makes sure she answers any questions you have thoroughly and she is super nice. Her tests come from the homework and class reviews.

Dr. Campbell knows her stuff. Her recorded lectures are straight forward, and all of it will be on the test. Everything is memorization but it's very doable because she tells you exactly what you need to know. 3/4 tests counts. She is VERY picky with grading but there is 1 ext credit. The new homework will take hours so do it ahead. Great class!

Dr. Campbell (aka Dr. McCloskey) is a great professor, and explains chemistry in a way that students can understand. She even went so far as letting us retake a test that most of us did bad on, and we did not need the book. She posts her lectures online, so that's beneficial also. Dr. McCloskey is a wonderful teacher. Her explanations are very clear, and has her own custom-made homework sets. She posts all her lectures and notes online in PDF and video form. Register for her class early: It will fill up and you will have to take Poteat (blah). I plan on taking her again.

Dr. McCloskey is AMAZING! Definitely have to put in a lot of work in her class, but it's VERY possible to get an A. DON'T need the book! There's 4 exams, plus a final, and she drops your lowest (but not final). Each exam is worth 20%. HW is recommended but not mandatory. She has review for exam and does HW problems in class. Her lab is easy too!

She is a really good professor

Not an easy subject, but she does really well at explaining what you need to know for the tests. All of her lectures are recorded and put online. The tests are ALL of the grade, which is good for some and bad for others. I'm signing up for her Organic 2 class. Her labs are incredibly easy and fun. The quizzes are easy if you study for them

She had 4 tests and drops the lowest one which really helps you get the grade you want. Her study guides are almost identical to her tests so if do them and study those you should be set for the test. She only has tests and has NO homework or quizzes. She told her students to get the book but we never used it.

Dr. Campbell was a great, straight forward professor. She goes over practice problems constantly throughout class and writes everything out. Study that and you ace the tests. She is kinda quirky. I enjoyed her class a lot. Work hard and you'll get an A.

Dr. Campbell is a tough professor but if you are nice to her, she will be nice to you. If you have a problem with a lab quiz or report, she will help you. Read the lab before class, fill out your lab notebook, do good on the reports, and you will pass.

The person below me probably never went to class, didn't try, or was mad because they failed. This professor was the nicest organic teacher I have ever had. She is extremely understanding and will help you in everything you need. She was never rude when asked questions in class. You must work hard for this class it requires a lot a lot of practice.

Honestly dont expect an easy A.. so study like a normal student. She is far the most straightforward teacher Ive had. Visit her at her office and shell give you excellent feedback. Let her know you care about your grades. Give her respect and youll get respect back.
