young teacher so she can relate to younger students. Fun class and very helpful. Easy to work with she expects you to take it seriously... which i like. youll learn quite a bit without being bored. she a made a 3 hour class manageable.

Wonderful teacher who gives 110% for her students. She's not a mean teacher who wants to trick and fail her students. She's fair. Plus, you don't have to dress up for your presentations.

Made my time never ending,hated going to her class,she does have her favorites,you have to be part of her favorite group in order to get a good grade, she says she is willing to help when you go see her in her office,NOT TRUE not only that but she is rude

Depends on what kind of teacher you like. If you want to learn a lot, take her class. She expects you to apply yourself, but makes every class intresting and fun.

This is one of the best classes I've taken @ SWC. Tafolla LOVES what she's doing and she makes the students interested in communications. The class is always dynamic and fun!! Plus, she's very nice.

She's really strict and picky about coming to class on time and stuff like that but the classes are so intresting and she is funny and smart. you will like any class u take with her. p.s. don't talk while she is talking, it makes her mad.

Decently young teacher, deceptively nice. Lectures are very clear and the class is generally easy, but you really need to put in the effort on the speeches. It is very obvious when you half-ass a speech in which she will half-ass your grade.

Great teacher!!!! and i would say that her Comm 103 class was so much fun and so easy. She is very clear during lectures and she really appealed to her students. But she get's in a bad mood tho if u dont do ur work. But overall, the class was great.

I was fearful of public speaking but at the end of the semester I was confident to speak in any conversation. If you want to become an articulate, a coherent and confident public speaker, don’t miss the opportunity …take her class. She is awesome!!!

Perhaps one of the best instructors at SWC. She is clear, helpful, and willing. All that you have to do is put the effort into the class, and she will be more than willing to guide you along. She spells everything out and there are no surprises. One of SWC's BEST instructors!!!

She's tough and she tells u exactly what she's thinking when she's thinking it. she can be so straight forward it hurts. but i know i am a good public speaker now and that couldn't have happened without her. she is the best speech teacher you can take. i recommend her to any serious student who wants to get better at talking in front of people!

It looks a good class at the begining, but after the first presentation, you get the idea of how hard the class is going to be. she is a hardass in grading the presentations. She want your outlines and presentation perfect.so be careful.

Some people like her, some people don't. I didn't have any problems with her. Just don't ask her any dumb questions that can easily be found in the syllabus. She's really nice (most of the time) and helpful. Just do the work and don't come to class late.

GREAT TEACHER! Best I've ever had and you will actually learn. Easy A if you stick with it and abide by her rules, but they aren't hard to follow. You are almost guarenteed to be a better communicator and public speaker after you take this class. I strongly recommend taking her! You will not regret it(& you'll regret it if you dont take her class!)

I took her for summer. The class goes by very fast, so organize your time, think hard about your topic, rehearse your speeches beforehand, do the assigned readings, do all the class exercises, and don't let your stage fright get the best of you. You WILL learn in this class if you do all this. Teacher is friendly, articulate, and helpful.

She's a very nice and friendly teacher. She's there to answer your questions, when you need her. She can give you advice on what to do. She demands quite a bit for the presentations, but what do you expect? She's funny and she presents quite a bit of examples. I didn't give it my all, so I only got a B, but try hard, and you'll do good.

Very impressed with teaching style. Took summer course~she requires a lot of work but I felt I had actually gained something when the class was through. If she teaches any other classes I need for my degree, I'll choose her as the professor.

She was my first teacher at SWC and one of my best. She is some what strict but very informative. Her lectures were clear and I learned so much from this class. Definitly take her for communication!!

Ms. Tafolla is strict and expects alot from a student. She takes her time to clarify any misundertsandings and will answer any questions. She doesn't give alot of homework, but when she does their important projects. Her test are easy if you study. Not that hard to earn an A in her class.

tells straight from 1st day that she hates tardiness, even if only 1 min late. other than that class is fun if you like group discussions & projects. test are fairly simple if you pay attention to lectures and at least skim through chapter readings.

Candice is the coolest teacher ever!!! i took the winter mini session class that was only 11 days long and it was the best class ever! you should take her class if you want to learn about communication in a fun way.

she's clear, she's fun, and she is serious about helping you learn. it is not a free ride, you have to work your a$$ off, but it is totally worth it. she taught me how to be a better communicator and that is why i took the class. she's the best.

At first I thought this instructor was a female dog! But she gave me a big challenge and I turned out to be a better speaker than ever. FOLLOW ALL INTRUCTIONS FOR EVERY ASSIGNMENT/SPEECH and you will be fine. DO NOT try and do you own thing when it comes to speeches, follow the intructions.

Her class is hard work, but a bit fun. She can be unclear at times, just make sure you ask right away about any confussions 'cause she wont bother telling you things twice. Make sure to not be late or absent! SHE'S VERY PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, and can be a ****.

Very easy class, if you do what you're told. There are 3 speeches (2 individual and one group presentation) and 3 quizzez. She explains very clearly and makes class fun. Just follow instructions on how to give the presentations and you should be ok. Probably the hardest is clearing fear and anxiety before each speech.

she's a great teacher, but don't get on her bad side. YOU HAVE TO COME TO CLASS ON TIME, SHE IS STRICT ABOUT ATTENDANCE. she will actually drop you. this isn't a class for slackers, but if you plan on doing the work then there's no problem. she'll always help you out if you don't undertand.

At first you may not like her, but you'll realize that passing her class is an accomplishment. She may be sweet, but she also demands strict discipline, especially in your attendance. Her biggest strength is the distance she is willing to go in helping her students better understand the assignment. Overall, not perfect, but then again, who is?

She's demanding and has University-level expectations, that can be scary. But she is an awesome teacher and gives really fun exersises. I liked her and thought class was always interesting. Be on time and particiapte. She likes that. She is smart, clear and honest. Helps a lot during office hours if your confused.

Interpersonal Communication. Great instructor. This is a great class to take for college credit as well as personal reasons. You will learn a lot. BE ON TIME and participate in discussions. KNows her stuff, great teacher and very nice. Just don't be late, turn in assignments on time. Tests were pretty easy if you study a little. Great lady !

Just finished her class and it was HARD! She is super smart, super strict and super SEXY. I loved the class, found her a little intimidating but would do it all over again. Take her, especially if you are a guy!!

Swesome professor! She has high expectations and doesn't lower them. She is energetic, exciting and very passionate about her job. I totally enjoyed her class and would do it over again. She doesn't hesitate to drop you if you can't respect her rules - like showing up on time, and attending class.

Every once in a while you meet a professor that really inspires you to succeed. Candice is one of those professors. I took her class in the summer and it was intense yet very fun. She is very clear on the requirements and lays it all out on the first day. Follow her rules, be respectful, participate and you will have a GREAT experience.

Comm 103 I enjoyed her class a lot. The first day she seems intimidating but as the class continues she is anything but. If you plan on getting by without attending class, then don't take her, she's strict on attendance. Hardly need the book, got a B in the class without it, just need to take notes and you will be fine

Great teacher who is strict but if you do what you are supposed to she is very nice. make sure to get there on time, but class is actually pretty fun , lots of activities no book needed just take notes and as long as you follow the syllabus you will do good. I got an A because there is no real homework other than speech prep.

She is a strict professor but I enjoyed her class a lot. If you're the type of student that takes each class seriously, then this is definitely the class for you. She gives you a plan for the whole semester so nothing is ever spontaneous. I think she is a great professor.

This lady is really strict is your a good speaker then you will do fine and also a good study person because the test are hard. I felt like i learned a lot but sometimes she favored the guys more than the ladies.

I am one of the ladies and she treated me well...I did good in the class but I had to work REALLY hard. NOT an easy A. Totally worth it though, I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. She is interesting in every class. A lot of energy for a professor.

I was dreading this class before I took it and I ended up with an A. I took her over the summer and she was really nice. The speeches are easy to pass, just follow the structure she gives you. The tests are not hard. She allows you to use a note card as a cheat sheet. And she is always willing to answer questions over email. Highly recomended.

I just took this class for summer, and it was great. I feel like time went by so quickly. May seem overloading at first but she goes beyond any professor I know with assisting students. She's highly energetic and kind, but respectfully strict on attendance. HIGHLY recommend :)

GREAT PROF!! I was scared to take this class, but she made it so fun & easy! Explains exactly what you have to do step by step. As long as you follow, you'll pass! Tests are easy & surprisingly so were the speechs! Strict when it comes to attendance, but if you show up every day you get E.C.! (bumped me up from a B to an A!) overall sweet lady :)

She is pretty brutal but also really clear. You always know EXACTLY what she wants from you. Whether you do it or not is up to you. I would recommend this class to any serious student.

Pretty easy class. Be there on time or a little early if possible. She's super strict about attendance and will call you out in front of the class to try to embarass you. You can tell when she favors a student and when she doesn't....so don't be on her bad side, or else it will be a miserable semester.

Mrs. Taffolla is the best teacher i've had while attending southwestern college. Ive been there for two yrs now and she is the best. I had to take it for gen.ed. She was so real and used examples that i could understand. Exams are easy if you study. She gives study guides a week o two ahead of the exam for you to study off of. Go to every class!!!

She seemes really nice when you first start the class, and overall she is but she had a real sarcastic attitude, and never fails to critize your presentations. shes an easy teacher but super rude and impatient.

I am currently enrolled in her COMM 174 class and I must say that she is an awesome teacher on many levels. She genuinely cares about what she teaches and she wants everyone to do well in her class as well as in the outside world. Very clear and precise with her words and explanations. Only advice is BE ON TIME AND DO NOT MISS HER CLASSES! Easy A!

Candice is really strict on attendance. She also cares for the students and is willing to help. That said, don't be late or max out any absences because it will hurt your grade.

Very interesting class. Learned new concepts every week. Lectures are straightforward, mostly from the text. Fun and interactive class, got to know everyone in the class (: The class mostly consisted of group activities and only 1 narrative speech. Teacher is very friendly and laid-back and would also like to note that I love her style of clothing.

I was not looking foward to communications. But it actually wasnt as bad as i expected with this professor. You must speak publicly 3 times, which was honestly not that bad. If you are dreading communications, your best bet is her.

I was going into this class just to get credit and had no interest in this subject. however, Candice really changed my perspective about this course. She's super sweet, positive, and helpful! the assignments arent too stressful either! however she has a strict attendance policy, it didn't bother me too much though. and your book is a must!

Candice is an angel of a human being. She is hands down the BEST professor to take for Communications at SWC. She made me sure that I picked the right major. Her class is very enjoyable and it is very easy to learn from her. But, do NOT skip class or arrive late. Do the assignments which are not hard at ALL, and you WILL pass. Love this professor!

Amazing class, it was a class that involved a lot of personal stuff but i felt totally at ease. I also thought it was amazing she took the time to learn each students name.

Attendance is a must! She hates when students show up late. Participation is also a must. She lets you use a note card with notes during test so if you review your lecture notes and read the chapters it should be a easy A. We have a total of 3 presentations, 2 individually and the last one as a group. She doesn't play around, but very nice.

I loved taking this class it was so much fun. She lays down the rules and sticks by them. Don't miss class PERIOD. She has no simpathy for tardiness and rewards people that come to every class on time. Has office hours. Doesn't like to repeat herself. Straight forward. She made the class enjoyable and I would definitely take her again.

Only harder project to get a good grade is the group project. Don't be afraid to email she responds rather quickly. Put in work you will get an A.

First of all. Not an easy course, actually expect to read the book since she bases her exams from the readings. The presentation are also quite challenging, since she expects you to actually put effort and hard work and not just talk nonsense. If you want a challenge go with her, if not don't even think of it.

She is a tough grader. She is very old school, does not use backboard. she knows her stuff and cares for her student, but this is not an easy class.

I took this class during the winter intersession to get some credits out the way, definitely a lot of work but understandable since it was a shorter time to complete a semester long course. She's a straight forward teacher, doesn't tolerate phones or poor attendance. 10/10 recommend her as I learned so much from her. Be prepared to open up.

Participate, do homework, read the textbook, study for your test. Just like any class--work for your grade. Wouldn't say "easy A" because you can't get by just by showing up. I enjoyed this class very much! Took it during winter session (4weeks) and our class got very close. It is a comm class so expect to speak up and speak out!

At first I wasn't sure of Candice but after a 2 weeks of her class I really learned to love her and I think the entire class ended up doing the same. Her projects really connect to personal life. Ended up taking a lot from this class and being able to use it in my personal relationships! 2 exams, extra credit, make it to class, she will drop you!

She is by far the best comm professor in Southwestern, she cares for your success is open to talk to you anytime. She is super clear about the class expectations and rubrics. It is a public speaking class so you will present by yourself and in groups, don't worry just make sure to practice. You will love the class.

She tells you what she expects and if you fall short you will be doct points on any assignment. But she is an awesome lady and she really cares about her students. Professor Candice is pretty clear and concise as to what she wants and expects from students. However she has to deal with the laziness of students that makes her job harder and makes her seem strict, when in all actuality she just wants maximum effort. Prof. Candice is knowledgable, caring and her teaching style and spirit are unique. Love her!

Im gonna be honest, Candice does have high expectations. But in addition to that she gives you the tools to pass and is more than willing to work with you to help with speech fears and the like. The first day she tells you all you need to know as far as what is expected from you, all assignments and when they are due, you wont get full participation if you aren't an active listener . Took her last semester for interpersonal comm, by far my favorite class, you do one solo presentation the rest are group, but the one solo presentation really brings you out if your comfort zone by sharing very personal things about yourself. I took her class in Intersession and it was amazing! Perfect class to start the new year. So much useful content that I use all the time. She's such an amazing person who's kindhearted, understanding, and super Dynamic! You can tell she's passionate and good with her job. I highly recommend taking her class during intersession you bond w/ everyone!

I loved her! This class is hard! But Mrs. Candice makes it worth it. She is a serious teacher and I learned serious lessons. Highly recommended (A LOT OF WRITING!)

I liked her at first and then I thought she was way too hard and picky. But then I ended up appreciating her. She is just really organized and prepared and expects the same in return which is pretty hard but I really learned. Caring proffesor.

She is a AMAZING Professor, but her requirement is too much, but she does this to push student to strive for their grade, she gives random E.C, Lectures are super interesting and fun, She hates it when your late to her class, and the test are easy, she lets you use notes, but get ready to work hard for your speeches.

Prof. Candice is one of the best instructors here at SWC. Yes, she's a tough grader on HW, group and individual projects. As long as you follow her rubric to the heart you'll do fine, just ask or stop by at her office she's willing to help. She gives extra credit in class and for attending ALL her classes. The textbook is required to pass and takes

I was in a class that had to go online because of the corona virus. I miss the class a lot. Her class was fun and interesting. When we went online she was really clear and helpful but still strict about things being turned in on time. Grades fast with lots of feedback. Wish I could have finished in person instead of online.

She is a great teacher and so nice, but really intimidating at first. Very easy to talk to once you get comfortable with her. Always was able to help us whenever he had personal matters. She is a strict grader, but will always tell you what she's exactly looking for in assignments. She is VERY serious when it comes to grading. Actually teaches!

This class was hard! She was soooo picky but I learned a lot and now I can do MLA for my English classes. Lectures are awesome and she is nice during office hours (some teacher arent). Favorite class all semester!

I loved this class!! Candice is very serious about grading so you have to follow all the instructions but she is clear. Just follow directions. I applied all the lectures to my life. She grades really fast and gives great feedback. Really nice during office hours! Highly recommended.

Proff TS is really nice and gives great feedback. Your grade is highly dependent on like 5, 50 point assignments and a midterm/final. The papers/speeches were easy, midterm in my opinion was easy (I got 98%) but she says average grade is C. Just study n itll be be easy. Havent taken final yet, but the study guide is clear like the midterm.

I thought this class was awesome! I was dreading public speaking but for this class you just have three speeches and they are all pretty easy. The lectures were interesting and clear, lots of hints for the exams! Candice grades seriously but rubrics are clear and she is really nice when asking for help. Responses to emails and grades fast!

Great teacher! This is a class about interpersonal communication and you are expected to record yourself a few times. You can watch her lectures at your own time, but take notes following the study guide. In that way you will easily pass the 2 long exams.. Short assignments for participation, watch out your citations! she is very observant there.

She is picky about requirements but just follow the rubrics and you will ace this class. Topics are relatable and easy to write about. Great lectures really help with the homework and tests. Class is organized and easy to follow. Recommended!

This class was so much better than I expected it to be. Took it online during Covid. Lecture are amazingI made my boyfriend listen to them with me and we agree she should have a podcast. Candice is so nice and helps with all questions. She grades so fast with a lot of feedback so its easy to improve. Hard grader but he rubrics are very clear!

Not sure why everyone says she is so hard??? Just finished a summer class with Candice and had 105%. Instructions are clear. Just follow the rubrics and you will do fine! Great lectures and she give a lot of helpful feedback. Will let you fix mistakes if you turn in early. Just do the work and you will love this class. Organized and helpful.

I took comm174 with Candice during the summer session and thoroughly enjoyed the info covered in the class. Lots of prerecorded lectures and participation assignments. Be prepared to be vulnerable, she thrives off of it. And pay careful attention to citations and the syllabus! Shes a tough grader.

This is a great class! Really well organized and clear. A lot of recorded lectures that are very helpful for the class and life! I didnt even think I would like this class. She is a tough grader but you just have to follow the rubrics. Picky about MLA format (she could chill on that, its not English!). I would recommend this class to anyone!

This is the best class I have taken at SWC. There is a lot of required work and she is a tough grader but she gives a lot of detailed instructions and rubrics. Grades fast with a lot of feedback. I loved taking this class with Candice. Amazing professor, she is very specific and thorough but she has the best intentions. She gives useful feedback, and her lectures are easy to understand because she provides many examples & makes it known that if you have any questions you are welcomed to ask.

I was nervous about coming back to in-person classes after COVID, but this class have become one of my favorite classes and Candice has become my favorite professor. The class is graded by 3 speeches, easy if you follow the guidelines and she is so sweet about nerves. There are three major tests but she prepares you well and lets you bring notes.

She has a lot of assignments that are just for participation, but after the midterm she starts asking you to write research papers that are graded and they aren't fun like the rest of the class was

I took this class as my first back in person since COVID. It was the best class I have ever taken. Candice creates a safe and fun space. The class was so close that we all cried saying goodbye on the last day of class. She is serious but full of heart and really helpful during office hours. Take her if you are a serious student!

This class was not what I expected! 3 recorded speeches, optional zoom, two tests, two essays. Lots of weekly participation on Canvas that is really interesting. Brush up on MLA skills! She is picky but very clear. Lectures are awesome!

This class was my favorite all semester. Every day I looked forward to what topics we would discuss. Assignments are challenging but not hard if you follow the rubrics. I learned so much! Definitely a class for life, not just college!

I took an 8:30 am interpersonal communication class and it was by far my favorite class of the day. I am not a morning person at all but this class was a great way to start my school day. I recommend writing down the lecture material as it may differ from what you find online on google. She's a tough grader but she gives wonderful feedback!!

I just finished a summer school class with professor candice and I loved it! It was at night for over 3 hours and I never dreaded it. Super nice, lots of extra credit, fun work with the other students. It was my favorite class! Highly recommended. Take good notes, follow the rubrics. Easy A.

I *just* finished this class and actually cried when I left. Our whole class was so close and Miss Candice made it such a fun and safe space. You have to give 3 speeches, one with a group. They are pretty easy. Tests are hard but you can use notes. Material is great! Use it every single day in my real life. A+

Candice is a really good teacher. Every class was interesting. She is nice. All PowerPoints are on Canvas. 3 speeches, 2 tests, one easy paper. Participation is her #1 thing and she will drop you for missing too much class or being late all the time but going to class is worth it and you will learn. LOTS of interaction is other students.

One key thing I think most students didn't get about taking her course was that you NEED to be there for every class. She is super strict about being in class. Even being tardy she will mark you for it. Besides attendance, She is one of my favorite teachers. you do need to have the textbook on hand. Lectures are based on the book.

Honestly best teacher ever, to all the negative comments bye you probably always late (haha) She is a good teacher, just go to class ON TIME (she is strict about it), take notes, and follow the flow. Honestly super easy and would take her class again.

I took this class right when we came back from COVID, so it made things a little harder than they needed to be since it's a communication/ face-to-face class. But Professor Schreiber still did a fantastic job and made the content fascinating. Very funny, nice and caring and willing to work with you if you need help with anything

She said day one that she wanted us to be a community and she made it happen. So many of us became friends. I knew everyone's name and we all rooted for each other. Got an A on all individual work. I emailed her on last day asking what q's I missed on final. She replied snarky w/ "your exam clearly says you missed x amnt of questions, but if you'd like to see which ones, come back next semester b/c we're on break." Then I got a final B grade! Feel like I was reprimanded for trying to see where I could improve.
