This man is very nice but his lectures are confusing and his test are very hard. I am an A student and this class is pulling me down. His labs are way better than his lectures...If you take him get ready to dedicate all of your time to this class
I loved biology before I took this class, took AP Bio in high school, and was a bio major. I took this class and I changed my major. He speaks so softly and you can't hear him in the back. He goes WAY into depth in his lectures, but labs arent that bad. Take another professor.
I took with him in the fall.He was eecellent he explain every thing in the simple way and if you didn't understand any thing he so patient to explain the same point again and again.
he's a really smart guy and a great teacher. he does go in depth but gives you a great basis for future science classes. i was in the clas with the kids who rated him poorly and they were the idiots who expect to be spoonfed everything. if you want to transfer to a better school, thisiswhattoexpect
WORST TEACHER EVER...PLEASE DONT TAKE HIM FOR UR OWN SAKE...Horrible...shouldn't be teaching at all. im getting a D in his class right now along wit everyone else in my class...the class is so hard a curved 51 is a D...ridiculous...
the worst teacher ever! I cannot believe some people would give him a high rating! the idiot does not what he is talking about and makes the class seem longer than just two and a half hours. never clear on his tests or labs. if you have time and money to fail, take him. don't say i didn't warn you
he is the worst don take his class
Horrible teacher and i advice anyone who wants to take this class to avoid him. He's too smart to be teaching a Gen bio class. Try to take another teacher if you can because if you do take him, you'll have to study extra extra hard just to get a C.
He's not as bad as most people say he is. might just have to wait and see.
Gives a lot of notes on the board, everything in notes is on test. His tests arent very easy, but their straight forward from the notes.u cant miss class.
yikes! avoid at all costs.. his monotone voice will put you to sleep..he talks to you like you are a graduate of microbiology and assumes that you understand every word..chesney is good..get him for lecture and lab you wont be sorry
This professor ruined my summer!!! Omg!!Avoid this professor he is sooooo boring and is not helpful at all. he thinks like were like all bio majors!!! His voice is so boring it will put u to sleep... i even sat right at the front seat.... and always day dreamed!!! Don't say i didn't warn u!!!!! AVOID
Very good teacher. Study the notes. I got an A in this class solely by giving very short answers to all questions on the study guides for the tests and memorizing them. Not a very hard class in my opinion. Just pay attention.
good teacher. puts all lecture notes on the board and gives detailed study guides. his tests were hard but if u kno the subject matter you will do well. if he knows your trying hard u will get a good grade.
OMG...could u say boring..dis dude cant teach 4****...like da others said...his monotone voice WILL put u to sleep!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS...UNLESS U REALLY WANNA SEE HIM FOR ANOTHER SEMESTER...
A great professor. He can be boring because of his rather monotone presentation, but if you pay attention you will understand all the material. He gives the background for each topic and review questions for each chapter. I learned alot from his class. If you are lazy or just dumb dont take him. If you are willing to work and think, hes the guy.
Worst professor over, if I could curse about him I would. noone likes him, trust me. Drop out rate over like 75%. Just stands and writes on the board and leaves. If you ask a bad question he will literally make you feel very small. DONT TAKE. HORRIBLE
YAP YAP YAP YAP. Thats what his classes sound like. Very monotone. You can tell he loves the subject he teaches and that he is very smart, but he should be teaching a higher level course...not Biology to freshman. Difficult to follow lessons. I learned more on my own from following the book.
DON't take him..unless you have a death wish, b/c he will make you want to kill yourself. He doesn't explain ANYTHING just writes it on the board & on the rare occasion that he answers a question, he'll talk to u as if you already have a degree in biology. SOme test questions aren't even in the notes/book & he gives you study guide day before exam
Very boring, hard teacher. His labs dont even count until the last two. He talks forever and his exams are really hard he grades pretty difficult too. You ask questions and he makes u feel stupid.Dont take him.
He is very smart, and monotone, but he explains everything in the level that he tests you on. He is very willing to help but you have to ask for help...he's not gonna run chase people around b/c their failing. He gets the job done, he's just a little boring.
He is very smart and he def know his sh!t.However,I don't agree with his teaching skills.Who tells his student,"if u cnt get this done, how much more if u wnt 2b a dr?!"wow, very encouraging! The fact that he's lab is hard, he should be at least approachable to students. Unfortunately, he'll rather scare you off. I hate him.
The guy below clearly didn't like his english/grammar teacher much either...Waldburger is tough and sometimes boring, but he is very smart and teaches the material very well. If you want easy go to a community college..though you'd probably compalin too.
monotoned. chest hair. pretty chill about spilling e.coli everywhere. knows his stuff. just look like you know what your doing.
he's ok not as bad as the rest of the ppl on here say if u pay attention listen and ask questions you'll do find but he does give a lot of detail i took him in the summer so it prob wasn't as hard as it would have been!!!
gives good notes. read your notes very very well cos his questions comes from his notes but they are not easy at all. do not expect extra credit.
This guy is Borign as hell. Picture the clear eyes guy Ben Stein teaching you how to use a microscope!!! He doesn't even clarify what he teaches. This guy is Cheekz!!
He is extremely boring and very hard to approach. He expects you to already understand everything like you already have your degree. I didn't learn anything from this class. I have never even got a C during my time at Willy P and I failed this class.
Fun class. Carey is easy going. Take LOTS of notes. Tests come directly from notes, in class diagrams, and online homework. I highly recommend Gen Bio 1 with him. Three tests with mostly multiple choice, an essay or two and 2-4 short answers. Easy class if just show up and pay attention
He is a man of few words. Not charismatic at all and he sounds like Ben Stein (Clear Eyes guy). That being said, you do learn. This is partly due to the fact you taking notes the whole duration of class. Be prepared to study. I studied my butt off, and got a B. I'm most likely going to take him again, for Molecular Biology.
Dr. W. was a good teacher approachable and fair but you HAVE TO DO THE WORK and take TONS of notes.
Very boring voice. If you can stand a boring voice (its a science teacher so what are you expecting), take him for Gen for an easier bio than Patnaik. Has extra credit assignment using the book for 10 extra points. Also helps for studying with this. Normal difficult tests. Supposed to be harder for Genetics (ill update this next semester).
BORING. This man is very smart and knows his stuff, however, he doesn't really teach, it's as if he's talking to you about a topic and expects you to have a complete background of terms you haven't seen in your life.
Very good teacher. Explains everything very well, BUT, does not let students show what they understand on the test. Tests are very long for the time allowed. You might not get to every question even if you know every answer on the test.
Very, very smart man. Volunteers his time in the SEC for free tutoring for his class. His class is tough, but he goes over the hardest things multiple times which helps. He is tough but will prepare you for the 200 lvl bio classes.
Im a bio major and I have 2 retake his class. He said that only 5or 6 ppl (out of a class of 60+) have an A or B, majority is failing. Unless you are REALLY smart in bio you should take him, otherwise, D-O N-O-T T-A-K-E!
Do you want to FAIL? If so, take him. I had him for freshman year, and for all freshies coming to willy p.. THIS IS ADVICE! He is the most monotone person everr, his tests are like 6 pages long and so complicated, he talks to u like your stupid, and says most of the class will fail from the start. Im a bio major, & taking it again nxt sem!
If you don't have the drive and interest, then you should major in something else, because those who bash this class can be very discouraging for someone who wants to do well. His class had great content and he can lecture pretty well. He also gives many oppurnities to boost your grade. If I was returning to this school, I would take him again.
One of the best teachers at WPU. If you are really interested in majoring in Bio and want to go somewhere with it - TAKE HIM. He will prepare you 100% for your future, whether bio related or pre-professional. If you can't handle his class, you can't handle being a bio major!
He is a long lecturer but not bad. He def knows his stuff. I am an older student back at school for bio major and expect a B in class but it's not easy. He gives some leeway with optional hw to boost ur grade up to 10 points! I wouldn't recommend him for freshmen bc it is a tough class but I def learned from him and if he did bio2 I'd take it .
extremely boring man! his notes are good but should not be teaching gen bio I for freshman. makes u feel stupid for asking questions, tells the class how most people fail etc. but he does give a lot of extra credit points. however his tests are super hard and long so study&go to the science enrichment center for a tutor i recommend! youll need HELP
liked this teacher a lot might be monotone but he really understands the material and will definitely prepare you for the road ahead. tests aren't as bad as people say. before a test read the chapters, read the notes, and do mastering bio don't dread the class see it as a challenge. plus he gives a lot of extra cred. plenty of room for an A
Not the easiest professor in the world, but he really does know his material. He also takes time to help out if needed. He goes indept but helps out with your other sciences. Although he looks like he has no emotion he is a very nice man and helps out whenever he can
Genetics is by far the hardest course I've ever taken no matter who you take it with. I feel Dr. Waldburger does a good job at teaching this insanly challenging subject. Understand that you just failed your first exam because it's harder than you ever imagined. After knowing that you can pass the next two. Also lab is easy, got an A in it.
Sooooo boring!! This class is not mandatory to attend and thank God because I hated going. I am a Biology major and because of this class I am strongly considering changing my major.
SO MONOTONE !!
I'm having a lot of difficulty with his class. Maybe it's just me, but I find it very hard to keep up with. He speaks quickly and has a monotonous voice. I love Biology and I love taking notes, but his class is giving me a lot of trouble. I tried approaching him and I feel he was rude to me. His exams are brutal.
Waldburger could be a good professor, but he is very intimidating and will come off rude at times. During lecture he says he wants people to ask questions, but there is no time and he does not like it when he is stopped during his lecture. He does give extra credit but his tests are brutal i would not recommend him as a professor.
Maybe one of the best professors i have ever had. Listen , do your work and come to class and you should be fine. Just want to say it may be wierd but when he talks in front of the class about genetics he just becomes super hot.
As a professor, I really did not like Waldburger. I had him for General Biology I Lecture. The class is pretty big at first and he doesn't speak into the mic, so don't sit in the back because you will not hear him. Also, he speaks very monotone which makes it hard to pay attention and stay awake. I advise that you switch to a different professor.
I was a freshman when I took Bio 163 with Waldburger, and he's really not as bad as people say. Just take notes because his tests are directly from the notes. He gives extra credit, and he does notice if you're really trying to do well in the class.
Dr. Waldbrger is by far the best teacher i've ever had.His exams are extremely difficult and very in depth.Be prepared to study a lot and understand the material. He is always availabe for help. you always learn more when you take course with tough teacher!
Dr. Waldburger has very high standards and thus expect to earn your grade. Slackers and free loaders, he is not the teacher for you. Students who want to push themselves to the next level above mediocrity, take him, he will push you and prepare you for grad or professional school. His no nonsense approach intimidates many but he has much to offer.
Dr. Waldburger is the toughest professor I've encountered so far, you must pay attention in class & make sure to understand each lesson that he teaches bc cramming is the worse option to do in his class never hesitate to ask questions&visit him in his office hrs if you need help for test do/study the mb's, answer the reviewer & study his handouts!
Tough professor but very good. Pushes his students to succeed. Test are mc and choice of essays. Gives extra credit for each exam. Also curves. He holds tutoring sessions in SEC every week AND is available for office hours to review material. taping the lecture also really helps. Would definitely recommend him. Great genetics professor.
this professor is really hard but is actually really nice and looks like the most interesting man in the world in the dos equis commercials. okay seriously, you HAVE to concentrate and review every night after lecture. READ the book because it explains everything. cramming WON'T work so don't even try. You need to put effort if you want to pass.
He honestly not as bad as everyone says. His test are very hard but as long as you study ur ass off your fine. I got a b+ in his class, lab was more challenging. He is very willing to help if you show him that you are willing to put the work in. he only respects students that study and try hard.
Class is not easy, but as long as you show an interest and take it seriously, he will try to help you. He is very accommodating and will make time for you. If you start studying as soon as new material is introduced, the exam won't be bad; it's fair, but has a lot of material and he gives extra credit. He's a cool guy. I'd take him again.
I bet all the positive comments are Walderburger himself. This guy is tough, should be teaching Grad School instead of a General course. Avoid if you can..
He is a hard professor. If you want to challenge and push yourself to the next level, take him. If you are a slacker and self-entitled which is indicative you are not ready for college or grad program, do not take him. I think he pushes the caliber of WPU to a higher level. If you want to be ready for graduate or professional school, take him.
His tests and quizzes r very hard, and if you go to him he'll help you out only if you reviewed every thing and have specific questions about specific things, but he won't reteach things to you cuz it's considered your problem. His curve is: if you get a 64 it's a C-. But it's very hard to get a 64 in his class. His expectations r 2 high for WPU.
Such a lame teacher does NOT make the course interesting, explains things alright but not in a way to get anyone to pay attention, his tests are way different than any of his lectures AND I would know this since I record them, DO NOT depend on his study guides for the tests, they will NOT help you AT ALL You are better off self studying the course
This Professor is really bad. Not helpful, makes class extremely difficult and only has 4 exams. The class started of with almost 86 students, now its down to 38. Do not take this course with him. YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! Terrible professor!!!!!
Super hard. He goes fast in lecture. He tutors at the SEC but you need to come with SPECIFIC questions. He will constantly say that you should not be a bio major. On tests Mastering Bio helps! Do it, write it down. No google if you want to pass. If possible, avoid this class! Truly regret not switching out.
He makes the class very difficult. First day of class he told the class that only ONE of us will only make it to medical school which made me lose hope.. He will always put you down and make your self esteem really low. He makes you feel really dumb too. Only take him if you are really serious about learning biology. But i would AVOID HIM.
Waldburger is probably the toughest teacher I ever met. The class is super boring and he goes through the lessons super fast. The study guides that he posts online are useless. Make sure you study from Mastering Bio. I mainly taught myself using google. Try avoiding him.
Very difficult professor. He talks very quietly and write in very small font on the board. If you take his lecture class, be sure to sit in the front. Otherwise, you will not know what is going on. He posts the notes on BB for you to print. He was not very good at answering questions during lecture time but he was frequently in the SEC for help.
I'm retaking this class & honestly the 2nd time around it's pretty easy. An hr before class he goes over any ?'s if he is available, basically tells you the exact essay questions on the test, and his notes to mc on test are straight forward. He barely gives trick questions. Read book, do mastering bio, questions are very similar!! Plus he is hot!!!
I've had Waldburger for three times now. In the beginning he may have seemed as all the negative comments say but he really is a helpful teacher. His tests are straightforward and from the notes and book. There's honestly no reason not to get an A. He tells you exactly what's important and what's not. He's nice and his demeanor has greatly improved
IF YOU ARE A SLACKER THEN AVOID HIM!! He does not take attendance but trust me you will fail if you miss couple of classes. This Prof is brilliant and knows his stuff, most of his questions are applications of what you have studied.Pass his class and you will match up with any ivy league std for the course ,not kidding,if you want to learn take HIM.
Dr. Waldburger is the best professor I have ever had. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO WORK. There are no secrets, everything is straight forward. Dr. Waldburger is not only a great professor, but also a great intelligent man who is honestly there to help. SO GO TO HIM IF YOU NEED HELP, but you must be willing to put in the time and effort first.
I have him for this fall of 14, he is very smart. He knows what he is talking about so you will learn a lot. His class is not a joke, you must pay attention and COPY anything he puts on the board (WILL BE ON THE TEST) NO pop quizzes (none of that b.s) very clear about dates (quiz or test)- i know for sure if i have him up until med-sch. I'll enter
I should confess that he changed my life. Because of him I decided to get PhD in Molecular Biology.
professor waldbuger is amazing! he knows his material really well, and in my experience he explains things clearly, you have to put time into studying for his class, read the book and relate it to the lectures and the tests are straightfoward if you master the material!
Although he may seem like an angry professor, he really is out to help you. But he makes it clear cut from the very first day, you NEED to spend a lot of extra time outside of the class to learn the concepts. Going to the SEC with him is the most rewarding part and I would definitely take him again if I needed some other high level bio course.
I took prof. Walburger as a Masters student and even though he was a tough teacher, he instill knowledge to those ready to learn. I was very busy with life and ended with a C. It wasn't his fault because others got As in the class. You just need to understand the concept. He is always there to help should you need help. I'll take him again.
He's okay. Had notes available on blackboard for us to print out for class. Pop quizzes required lots and lots of reading so the book is definitely necessary. A bit mono-toned so it makes it hard to stay awake in class. Covers heavy material in class so you can't skip. Study for yourself! Read the chapters! Form study groups! Ask questions!
I had him for Basic Microbiology lab and the man definitely knows what he's talking about but he is boring. He has such a monotone voice and during our labs while we are using Bunsen burners and chemicals, he falls asleep. He is pretty unprofessional. When he sets a time for a review session, he does not show up which is aggravating!
He is one of the smartest people I have ever encountered. Definitely a challenging class that will force you to study. I struggled in this class but learned so much from him! This class is difficult. Ask questions and dig further into his lessons. reading the book is not enough so go to him. THIS CLASS IS CHALLENGING. if you're lazy, don't take it.
I took Waldburger for Genetics, and it was definitely the hardest bio course I had to take. He's very nice and pretty much to himself. HIs tests are extremely hard and he even says it. EXPECT TO STUDY! I was struggling and stayed after school studying and went to tutoring everyday and ended up with a C. I thought I was going to fail, but he curves.
You WILL need to see tutor in order to pass his class. I never left a class fully understanding what i just learned. The key to success will be the following 3 things. 1Study the notes HE gives you, 2Watch the videos from the online textbook Mastering Biology, and 3 JUST study the PICTURES from the text book (u wont have time to read the chapter)
Lectures are long and drawn out. 3 tests and a final. Quizzes every week. He is helpful if you ask, and offers after hours help. It's a hard class, and he doesn't sugar coat that 40% of people will fail and you have to work to get through the course.
If you are lazy and not interested in the sciences, this is not for you. He is helpful because of office hours, tutoring sessions etc. People are just intimidated by him for no reason. WPU is filled with students who show no interest in biology and just take the courses to pass. Take some interest and do some extra work outside of class. Great prof
Dr Waldburger is very dry and does not care to sidetrack to any discussions during lecture even if it withhold be useful information for the class or help further understanding. He doesn't appear happy, friendly, or social making him unapproachable for extra help. If you don't understand the lecture you are on your own. I'd suggest the SEC.
He is by far one of the smartest prof. I have met and he is very clear on what will be on the exam. He is available to help if you ask questions and the SEC is something I would definitely go to weekly. His voice is mono toned, but if you pay attention, print his notes, study hard, and use the mastering biology program, you will be able to pass.
I LOVE WALDBURGER!! Yes he can be a bit iffy sometimes but he honestly wants the best for his students. As in: he won't move on until you understand something fully (come to his SECs you'll see what I mean) and he so direct with what he wants you to know you'd have to be stupid not to know on test day. Waldburger's awesome, I'm out *drops mike*
On top of lectures being long, which would be expected in a bio course, he's pretty dull. Unless you really like the information taught in bio you might find yourself going in and out of it from time to time. He'll go on a huge rant in class from time to time, which made it a challenge to understand some things since I'm a to the point learner.
His lectures are okay. But his exams are on a whole other level. They're long and super complicated. I just took his final and I know for sure that I failed.... I actually studied too and went to his tutoring sessions. Wish he wasn't so unpredictable.
Great professor and great class. Record the lectures and aim to understand the material from the beginning. Do not rely on memorizing examples! Dr. Waldburger holds frequent SEC sessions where he answers questions, and in class he always gives an idea of what to expect in terms of big exam questions !!
He doesn't care if you understood or not, he's going to keep lecturing. He doesn't take attendance because he doest care if you go to his class. Sloppy writing you can barely understand what he writes and his drawings are an awful example. Be aware of quizzes every week. Also, I had to withdraw since I couldn't understand the majority of things.
Dr. Waldburger is probs one of the most knowledgeable profs Ive ever met. He clearly explains the material but u will need to record his lecs to further grasp the material. He definitely cares about his students and wants them all to succeed. He holds tutoring ses. He gives a max of 10 extra credit points 4 each exam which is a lot so def do it.
This is a no nonsense class, and he means business. But thats only because he deeply cares about what he teaches and the education of his students. How you do in his class is completely up to you. You must study after every lecture. Also take advantage of extra credit opportunities. He also curves which really helps. Id take him again for sure :)
If you attend his SEC sessions, you can add up to 5 points to your exam grade. He points out the important things for exams. It is a tough class, but you can pass; you just can't start studying at the last min. If you put the effort in, you will be fine. I recommend recording lectures as his lectures are far better than reading the textbook.
Don't even think about taking Genetics with this man. He cannot explain things well, his lectures and ppts are super vague and when it comes down to his exams, they're different questions from what you reviewed! He takes pride in making his tests impossible and your life miserable, guaranteed! Save yourself the stress.
I took Genetics as a hybrid course because of COVID. I hated every minute of it. Dr. Waldburger assigned one or two narrated PPTs every week with about 12-20 slides each. The material is TOUGH, and his teaching doesn't make it better. I felt like he barely taught anything and relied on the fact that we had PPTs to our access.
Cant believe how awful of a teacher he is. The exams and quizzes are very difficult. You can study and study and study but getting above a C is almost impossible for his class and I only Had him for lab. He also appears to have an attitude and get annoyed when you ask questions. He seems to think we all have PhDs. He really is as bad as it gets.
I can't believe the semester hasn't even finished yet & people are leaving bad reviews. Dr. Waldburger is a brilliant man who encourages critical thinking and is well-versed in the subject that he teaches. If you're interested in pursuing higher education, take him. He is the perfect gateway. If you're looking for an easy A, walk away.
He is an extremely hard professor, but a decent professor. He knows his material and teaches fairly well. He is willing to answer questions and elaborate if needed. He does offer extra credit, which does help in the long run. He has a few tests, but the tests are really thought and need a lot of studying to be done for them in order to prepare.
Professor Waldburger explains concepts fully and in great detail. He is always willing to give extra help, and he offers multiple opportunities for extra credit throughout the semester. It is clear he is very passionate about the material.
Although I struggled with the class, hes a great professor, and he does care about his students learning and understand molecular genetics. Probably one of the toughest professors Ive taken but also one of the best. He knows exactly what hes talking about you just need to study and ask questions if youre confused.
Although, I only had this professor for a short period of time, he was a great professor and explained the material very well.
Teaches at a level where he assumes you should already know some of the stuff and will often leave you confused because of the way he explains his slides, could also teach with a bit more enthusiasm. Have to take a lot of notes and have to attend SI sessions for the extra credit to help pass this class.
Prof Waldburger is extremely boring and unintentionally confusing. I took him for "lab" but he basically lectured for 2 and a half hrs. The labs were so boring and pointless which made writing the lab reports very hard. His tests are hard and he is not an easy grader. If you want to be bored out of your mind, definitely take him. If not, stay away
Guy is really smart. Tough grader but just pay attention.
I had him for lab, he refuses to say if your homework is right or wrong which is not helpful. When you ask questions he runs through the question so fast instead of ensuring you understand. His midterm was all open-ended questions which was horrible because I studied from his slides and still failed. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR
he just talks for an hour and 15 minutes, and is awfully quiet. just reads off the slides and doesn't explain any of the material. Has a quiz every other class and doesn't enjoy answering any questions. Super hard to pay attention cause he's so boring but attendance usually isn't mandatory
As other reviews say, his way of teaching is very much just speaking for the entirety of class. I had him for microbiology lecture and his tests and quizzes are all made to be very difficult. Most questions will be about incredibly minor details he only briefly goes over in class... Would definitely NOT recommend him.
Had Dr.Waldburger for Cell Bio Lab and all I can say is avoid this professor if you can. His lectures and tests are long, monotoned, confusing, and to be completely honest it doesn't seem like he even wants to be there half the time. He will get a bit condescending and annoyed when students ask questions. Learn from my mistakes, and DON'T take him.
Lectures the entire lab class and gives you minimal time to actually perform the experiment. Doesn't really seem like he wants to be there either. Tests are lengthy and hard, very very tough grade of homeworks. If you can, avoid taking him.
You need to avoid taking him if you can.Exams are all open ended.Discourages you and tells you won't make it in biology when my lecture grade is an A+ but for him was a 60 he is the worse when it comes to asking for help.He shouldn't be teaching he tells us we aren't going to make it to med school but he never did so he portrays it on his students
You'll follow all the steps and grading criteria and somehow end with a C or less on your lab report. I never struggled so much in a lab before. Not the best at answering your questions and sounds annoyed. Lectures for 2 hours bored and gives 30 minutes for the actual lab. Exams all open ended. Unmotivates students. Teaches for a paycheck. Beware.
Very unmotivated to teach students, spends most of the time explain whats going to happen in lab instead of the lab itself, and you will spend more time doing his hw and studying for his exams instead of lecture. DO NOT TAKE HIM NO MATTER WHAT. IT WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST MISTAKE
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! He doesn't care about his students AT ALL!!! I rather pick every petal off a flower than to be in his class. Takes too long talking nonsense, hates it when you question him, and is extremely rude. He doesn't care about failing the whole class. WP needs to hire better professors ASAP…
I'm surprised by the number of negative reviews. Dr. Waldburger is a tough grader, but he's a pretty understanding person. His teaching style isn't for everyone, but he is straightforward and very clear with his grading criteria. Lectures can be long and detailed, but just take notes and study well.
Dr. Waldburger's lectures can be hit or miss, but engaging with the material and using study aids like Unstuck AI can really help. Stay focused, and you'll get a lot out of this class.
It takes a certain type of student to like Dr. Waldburger and enjoy his courses. Close to retiring and very likely has issues with the Bio department so he does come off as a little abrasive and fed-up with students. Put in the effort and you'll do just fine.
Dr. Waldburger did a decent job teaching his sections of this course. Although, he's a little monotone and standoffish which discourages students from approaching him for additional help or explanations. Course is lab heavy and taught by multiple professors so there's many opportunities to boost your grade if you don't do well in his sections.
Will yap through the entire class reading off the ppts in such a monotone manner. Doesn't seem to care. Tough quizzes and exams
Never met someone who hated their job so much. He talked down on all his students every day, saying how we'll never make it in life. We never do many labs; we just sit there while he talks for two hours straight. Don't take this professor!!!! You'll hate lab so much!!
