She's one of the best professors I've had at Harper. She is very good at explaining things. Her being very young, she knows the student life, unlike many others, and will work with you extensively. In the class I took, the grades consisted to quizes and tests only. The tests and quizes were very practicle. Overall, A+.

Definately an Easy class if you come to the lectures. Whole grade consists of .5 percent for each question on the tests, so don't screw up and you will pass with an A. Carrie loves psychology, and it shows. Very approachable with questions or concerns. I highly recommend her for Psych intro class. Real easy on the eyes too (but married)

prof. paterno is theee shiiit. every powerpoint she shows in class she puts on line. she also posts a study guide on blackboard for every test (4-ish) .. almost identical to the test. && she makes class fun/entertaining and she's a MILF-- super hott.

If you're a guy I highly recommended this class, not only is it interesting and an easy "A" or "B" (just show up to class), her attitude and great looks just makes you want to go to class even more. MY FAVORITE TEACHER!!!! I had no interest in psychology until her. She loves her work and it comes through. Take her for sure!!! She makes everything so easy. I took notes every class and would only study for an hour before each test and got A's. Cares about how well her students do and really does a great job overall. LOVE HER!

Attendance is only really necessary for the discussion part of class. other than that you don't even need to come to class because her study guides follow the test even in order just memorize the words and their definition, that's all you need

Tests are fair. I read the book to get an A. It was my first psych class I've every taken. She makes the subject come out clear. Power points and Study guides for exams are posted on BB. Emails you back within days. Overall, a solid professor too. She's also easy on the eyes.

She is the best! As a first time college student, I was worried when I saw the size of the textbook. When she explains each chapter, it makes sense. Biggest thing, read the chapter before coming to class. Pop quizzes can happen, but they are super easy if you read the vocab for the chapter.

SHE'S GREAT!!!!! hands down the best teacher I have ever had. I took a Psych 101 course my freshman year and failed it. I retook it with her, and I have never loved a subject so much or done so well in a class. She's hilarious and extremely helpful and understanding. ALWAYS in a supper happy mood, and it rubs off on her class! Love her!

Class is not mandatory (and not even needed) her lecture notes are straight from the publisher. She does give extra credit once in a while if you do attend but it is not really worth it because the tests are so easy and you easily get 25+ points if you finish the study guide. Hardly studied for the class, but i heard online one was even easier.

amazing teacher relates things to everyday life to make things more understandable to everyone. she is very willing to to in depth with topics that everyone is interested in. Take this professor if you really want to learn and like to learn.

I loved her! Her lectures are amazing and cover important topics you need to understand for the test. If you come prepared to take some notes i class and do the study guides you can pass the class with at least a B. With a few extra minutes of review you can get an A. I am sending everyone to her.

Paterno is a pretty good professor with entertaining lectures. She offers extra credit for showing up, but the tests are so easy you probably won't even need it. If you do the study guides and read over them a few times, the exams are a breeze. Take this course if it's a gen-ed for another program i.e. nursing. Oh, and don't buy the book.

Cari is a really easy teacher. Lectures are long and based off the powerpoint, which you can basically read o your own but she makes her lectures fun and interesting. 3 easy tests, 3 study guides (basically the test question by question) and one essay (2-3 pages). Gives extra credit for showing up to class. Would take again. Book isn't needed.

She really inspired when she gave us a little bit of insight on her life and how she was not a good high school student, but really decided to make something of herself when she went to college. It made me feel like if she could do it, I could also do something with my life

My favorite professor so far. Tests are almost word by word off the powerpoint, but I definitely learned alot! You don't need a textbook since everything is in the powerpoints. She talks about her family alot, which relates back to the Human Development class I'm in. Take her class, you will not regret it!!!

My class was a blended class so I only had class once a week; the rest was online. For the one day, it's all lecture based--she will just go through the PPT for the chapter. On your own, you have a lot of reading to do and answer questions that are based on completion, not accuracy. study guide she gives is practically the test questions in order!!

I took Cari's Adult Psychology class online at Oakton CC. The class was very interesting and the workload was extremely manageable. Take the class- you will do great if you do the practice quizzes and pay attention to the answers. There are 3 exams and the questions come from the practice quizzes. Really enjoyable class.

You don't need to read the textbook before each lecture, but it gives you more detail if you want to dig in deeper. She makes sure to sprinkle lots of videos/movies in her lectures to make it engaging and encourages class discussion. Highly recommended!

she is nice and cares. there are only 4 tests so if you bomb one you have some making up to do. 4 study guides worth 100 points total, she doesn't grade them harshly. and an essay at the end worth 25 points. If you pay attention in class and study for tests this should be an easy B at the least

Interesting lectures that can be quite funny at times. You don't get graded on much except for tests and study guides. Overall pretty easy, the study guides are almost identical to the tests as well.

Easy A class. Textbook "required", but you can easily get an A without it, if you just follow the lectures. Attendance not required but extra credit points are given based on attendance days. Lectures are posted online. Tests are pretty common sense based. Very funny and personable teacher, super open to any and all questions! Highly recommend!!

Mrs. Paterno is a wonderful teacher. She brings in her dog for one class. In her class, there are 3 exams, 3 study guides, and around 12 reading quizzes that goes with the online book. The online book is mandatory in order to do the reading quizzes. Get them done and you'll be good. The study guides she gives are very reflective of the exams.

She is great! Very funny with a lot of relatable examples and very enthusiastic. Helps to read the textbook but not that necessary. Her "Section"(group discussion) classes can be fun. Monday morning is best to have Section, gives you time to study for exams which are always Mondays right after Section.

It was my first year at Harper and I loved psychology in high school so I decided to take it in college and I was definitely not disappointed. Mrs Paterno comes into class with an amazing, funny vibe that the class loves. She makes jokes and relates to the kids which to me is important. I would definitely want her as my professor again.

Professor Paterno is a very understanding, realistic woman, I really enjoyed her as a professor! All her material is made available online so it was an easy transition to online learning during the pandemic. She makes the material easier to understand through her lectures and the homework isn't tough at all. Only thing is you can't use electronics.

If you're looking for a Psychology teacher she is the one to take, she is amazing, so funny & caring. The class is pretty understandable, you go there she gives the lecture you take notes & do the online assignments that prepares you for the test which are a kinda hard but if you do the assignments you'll be fine! Being online she gives us a PowerPoint of lectures but you can also join an optional zoom call for a lecture. There is online homework that usual takes about 40-50 minutes. Its not a very time consuming course at all but she will be flexible and is very helpful when asking questions. Great professor especially for online class
