Carina is so funny, I've laughed almost to tears a couple times in her class. The tests are semi-difficult, but as long as you take all her notes and do the study guides you'll be fine. The labs are time consuming, but I'm sure all science classes are the same. Great teacher!

Very funny, i took her class as a one night 3 hr block and i actually enjoyed going to it. Labs are not hard you just have to show up and do it. Tests are kinda hard, a lot of stuff comes from the book and not from your notes.

She spends a lot of time lecturing, but she has a great personality and sense of humor and so it's more entertaining than you might expect. The class is fairly easy if you take notes during her lectures and spend an hour or so reviewing them before the quizzes.

I took Human Genetics with her as a night class. She was sort of hard to understand at first, but you will get use to it. She also writes a lot on the whiteboard so you know exactly what she's saying. Very Very Very helpful in labs. Exams were sort of hard due to her wording. Only need to skim the boring text book because she's so good at lecturing

I took her for genetics and she was awesome! If did your labs while she was in there she would basically do your lab for you. You have to do ONE paper and im pretty sure she didnt read them because everyone got an A. Shes super funny, and easy to talk to if you need help!

If you have a lab practical, she'll stand right beside you, helping you study for it. Then she lets you take the quiz early, and if you get a good score, she lets you keep it. Very funny teacher. Very helpful. Make sure you go to her office one hour before a quiz or tests, she will go though every question you have. She is a great teacher. If you are a big fan of 007 you are in luck there is always a question about Bond movie which is free point. I recommend her. One of the greatest teachers in NCC.

I took Human Bio. with her. She has two major problems. First, she is mean on grading, specially labs and papers. Second, she plays by the book if you know what I mean. Other than that, she is terrific and a die-hard James Bond fan :)

Carina is a great professor but she is an EXTREMELY tough grader. I started to study for the test the day that she told us the date and I still did not receive a passing grade. The tests and quizzes are very very hard. But she is a great teacher.

This professor was halarious. I honestly did not have a day where I was bored. She made you want to learn more about the topics. Beware that she'll say some crazy things and she's not afraid to say what she's thinking, but it was fun to listen on her lectures and I'm not even a science major.

I took BIOL1502 with Carina and I have to say, I enjoyed the class. It was hard material to learn, but she makes it fun. The class is easy enough, you just need to be organized and prepare for everything accordingly. She's great at preparing you for exams and reminds you of lab dates. Make sure you don't skip any quizzes, labs, or exams and you should be good. Effort is a must, but the class is rewarding and she is truly hilarious.

Good class overall and great professor. Homework was pretty easy but tests and quizzes were tricky. The content for tests and quizzes is not bad but it is a speed crunch to get them done so be prepared for that. Lectures and content were interesting and entertaining.

I took this class during the summer semester and it was very difficult. The tests and quizzes require memorization, but you have to come to conclusions with the memorization. A lot of the questions are short answer, especially on the final exam. On the quizzes/exams, one page of notes is required but there are rules for seeing the notes.

I had Carina for intro to Human Genetics and I loved her class. She is a great person and teacher. She will help you one on one if you are struggling and makes what you should be learning very clear. There are a total of 3 exams and 3 quizzes which you should do fine on if you pay attention in class and take notes.

My main advice to succeed in her class is to SHOW UP FOR LECTURES. Her tests primarily focus around the knowledge you gain in the lectures, the study guides and labs are just meant to further your understanding. Anatomy is NOT an easy class. Go to the Zoom meetings she offers weekly because she goes over mostly what will be on exams and quizzes. She responds fast and actually wants you to learn and will help you in any way she can. The hardest was juggling the lab practicals and quizzes/exams because they were so close together. I took Anatomy with Dr. Belinco last spring and loved the class. It is hard, which is the nature of the subject and requires reading and lots of practice, Quizlet is your friend. Going to her office hours goes a long way as you review the content that is likely to show up on a test. Great sense of humor and would take another class with her.

I was close to failing but she was very helpful and encouraging me in zoom meetings. has optional class zoom reviews weekly that were very helpful and review before an exam in person. Use all the resources she gives you. She will see the effort you are putting in.
