I was a visiting student at Stony Brook, and I have to say he is the best profesor I have had in business. This guy goes out of his way to get you to pass. Few cpas that act like they are running a class and not a firm

One of the best business professors alive. If you ask 100 questions, all 100 will be answered before new material is taught. Makes sure until anyone who is interested and wants to know the material well acually does. Very organized, neat notes. Also he is very helpfull in anything you ask him about.

he is an excellent teacher, he goes over the material continuously. he is an easy teacher, just do the hw and the project and you will get an A. The plus is you actually learn at the same time.

Best professor, EVER. One of the nicest guys you can find, too. Accounting is not easy, kids, but he makes it bareable and tries his hardest to give you an A, and teach you something. Love him.

Awesome professor! Very sweet and caring towards all his students and wants them to do well. 3 exams, not cumulative, and usually straight from the review sheet. As far as the project, you can choose up to two people or he will put you in a group. The project is not hard but requires some time and effort. Take with this professor, A is very likely.

He's not the easiest teacher in the world, but he does delp you a lot and is VERY EXTREMELY nice

He is an awesome professor. One of the nicest guys ever. The problem is the course itself - not him. Financial accounting... if you aren't interested - blows! Endure it with him. He's been around it so long that he talks fast and you just have to keep up. Did better reading the textbook. But he is so helpful and courteous to his students. A+.

I loved him. Play by play, go to class. I never really needed to go thru the textbook tho it did help when i did. You should listen to his lectures but the notes he gives will suffice to do well on tests. Makes cute jokes. I got an A.

his tests are all computations, no mult choice. hes a funny guy and really loves what he does. u have to meet him half way to do well in his class. if he sees you putting in the work and showing up to class your grade will reflect it. he keeps you informed with all of the things going on in the bus department and its development.

Never really had to go to class, but its for your own good. Exams are a bit tough but as long as you do the hws (like 8 the semester) you'll do fine. Easy B or B+. He definately cares about his students and almost always is avaiable for office hours.

Great Professor, Great Class. The material is decent and Allocca explains it really well. He is very fair and helpful. You do not have to go to class but I highly recommend it. He really makes the material comprehensible and the class tolerable.

Allocca is the best accounting professor in the department. He cares about his students and really wants them to do well. He offers a lot of help and makes accounting bearable. I highly recommend him for any class. He is a fair grader and really wants students to get an A. He knows the material well and makes it completely understandable.

Prof. Alloca is not only really funny but working hard when doing lecture. Also, he is very helpful if you got any questions. Highly recommend!

Very nice guy. Wants you to love accounting as much as he does. You need the textbook, and you need to go to class to do well. Revu the 'exercises' (not the HW) from text for tests. His class notes (written on transparency sheets) get messy. Tends to be distracted in office hours. Goes off on tangents in class.

READ THE TEXT BOOK, GO THROUGH THE REVIEW SHEET. DO HOMEWORK. YOU GET AN A! STILL TRY GOING TO CLASS BECAUSE HIS PASSION TOWARDS ACCOUNTING CAN BE A MOTIVATION! OH PROJECTS, A LITTLE BIT TRICKY BUT IF YOU DO WELL ON THE TEST YOU SHOULD BE FINE:)

Had this man for financial accounting, and from then I decided I wanted to be an accountant. Didn't do as well because I missed a lot of classes, but he's always willing to help you. Now, with 214, he's amazing. If you go to class, he will make material very understandable. He just wants students to learn. Best professor in Stony Brook. A+++

Really nice guy who tries hard to give people A's (albeit it is hard when people don't bother). I love that he uses that projector instead of a blackboard (hate blackboards). He has a really good sense of humor you don't normally see in someone in the accounting profession.

Prof. Allocca is one of the best professors I've had at SB. He's dedicated and willing to teach until you understand the topic. The material is somewhat boring, but he makes it fun. Although this subject is hard, he does his best to make it understandable. There isn't any extra credit, but as long as you go to class and study you will do fine.

He has a sense of humor that really enlivens the subject & uses many life experiences to explain ideas which brightens the lectures. Good guy in every respect and excellent prof as long as you go to class where he uses a projector which works better than slides to engage students. Take him. He's a fantastic professor. Perhaps one of my favorites.

I love this professor. He tries his best to make the contents understandable. I wouldn't say he is the easiest professor but if you read the book, do the assignments, you should be fine. I took BUS 210 and BUS 310 with him. Take him if you want to learn. Don't take him if you only want a short-cut. I learned the most from this professor.

Uses the projector rather than posting the notes which is annoying. Three exams and a project which is long. Uses the textbook a lot and homework almost every week. Tries to keep it fun by telling jokes but can get way off topic with some of his stories. Over all not a bad teacher for this subject.

HW & project answers can be found online. Nice guy, but only uses projector to teach notes directly from text. I went to class 3 times and studied the text/did the interactive tutorials on WileyPlus. Hard tests, but gives review sheet

Professor Allocca is one of the best professors in Stony Brook University. I learned a lot from this guy. He gives 4 average exams including the final. A week before he would post a study sheet to help you. I recommend you read the textbook and do the homework. If you need any help go to his office hours. He'll be more than glad to help. Take him.

Made accounting interesting! 4 tests of which 3 count, the projects are easy and wileyplus hwk usually every 10days or so, only grades hwk if you did it, not on results. Take him!!! Always willing to help out students as well

Nice guy, boring class. The material is of average difficulty and depends on how much you study. The homework is long, takes at least an hour to two to do it properly. The exams are tricky though. He really and I mean really tests what you know. You need the book to guarantee more than a b. Some of the material on the test is only in the book.

Great Professor, very clear and has alot of enthusiasm for a morning class. Study the textbook and understand the material and go to office hours if necessary and you are on your way to a great grade.

If you're in ACC310, you're going to eventually have to learn this stuff. Pay attention as you can learn a LOT from Prof. Allocca. Tests are always fair as you choose which questions you want to answer. The semester project is great and something you can mention in job interview. Bottom line, take him! He doesn't bury you in work as other 310.

Professor Allocca is a pretty good professor. The class though could be really boring at times.

Prof. Allocca is one of the most enthusiastic professors I've had. He really wants you to do well, and he tries to make the subject interesting. There are 3 exams, 2 projects, and HW. The exams are multiple choice, the projects aren't too long and can be found online, and you get full credit for HW if you attempt it. There's also a bit of a curve.

He's really such a sweet guy. He understands that it is an intro class and that most people are not going to continue on to be accounting majors. He works his class around that idea, making it as easy and fun as he possibly can but accounting is not an interesting topic for many. Had I utilized his office hours more I would have done better.

I like Prof. Allocca and his teaching style, although I can see why his lectures can be seen as boring and long. You're given full credit on the homework for trying, the projects can be found online if you look hard enough, and the tests are average (with minimal studying). I went to his office hours a few times, and he really helped me out!

Professor is very fair. Accounting is hard material to begin with, but you can tell he really cares about his students. If you need help, he is always willing to help and make himself accessible. His tests are not easy, but very fair. If you study the review sheet, and emphasize in your studying what he emphasizes in class, you will pass at the very least. But most likely end up doing well. I would highly recommend him.

I love this man! Professor is very good at teaching the material to students. Very reasonable expectations of students. Class consists of online HW, 2 exams, a final, and 2 projects. Holds office hours and really cares about students. He is also funny when appropriate. I would definitely take him again. Love accounting!

Allocca is the man! Attendance isn't mandatory but he explains how to do everything that will be on the exams during lecture. The material is kind of hard, but he makes it easy.

Had Allocca for ACC210, and glad to have him again. Online hw, 3 exams with your choice of which questions are graded (final not cumulative), and a group project. Material is somewhat different from Financial. Still, he helps you when you're stuck, and he's very funny when class becomes dull. Cares for students and is very reasonable with workload.

I have take 3 classes with Prof Allocca. Online HW and 3 exams. The exam of 210 are all multiple choice qs,but for 214 and 310 are short answers. I like his class, and his questions on the exam is pretty easy for people who go through the review sheet especially for 214 and 310. I wish he can teach 313 in next semester.

Third consecutive semester with this guy (ACC210, ACC214, ACC310). Great professor for Accounting minor. Online HW, 2 Exams, a Final, and Annual Report Group Project. Loved his humor and teaching style. A real gem.

Professor Allocca is one of the best professors I have ever had. He brings a lot of knowledge to the table and is extremely kind and accommodating to students. Accounting is not an easy subject (mostly upper level accounting) but he makes it digestible. Expect to keep up with topics and tests and you will be fine.

Allocca is a great professor. I have taken him for 210, 214, and 310. He is a great guy who brings a bit of humor to accounting, and is very engaging during lectures despite not many people showing up because attendance is not mandatory. He is also clear and straightforward with his testing. You'll have to study, but he gives you the keys.

Accounting can't be taught like this. There's no interaction and this is nothing against Prof. Allocca. HW is online and the WILEY system is awful. The online HW doesn't even count that much and he doesn't care if you get it all right, he just wants you to show effort. The exams should be online too then or have everything done in class.

Third class with him (ACC210, ACC214 and ACC310). One of my favorite professors. The material can be dry and technical, but he has a great sense of humor that makes the lectures enjoyable. He's straightforward, down-to-earth and fair. He doesn't mind going over concepts again so students understand, and doesn't ask trick questions on exams/projects

Allocca is very relaxed, happy and carries a good attitude. He involves the class in participating, but won't mind if you sit back and say nothing. The tests are easy because you only have to do 4 or 5 problems out of ten. Allocca spends most of the lectures going through problems from the textbook. This is exactly what you'll be tested on.

He was a really cool guy. The course overall is hard but thats just the class, not him. He's very fair and easy going. Attendance isn't mandatory. Tests are in class. He's very easy to reach and will help you out if needed

Professor Allocca is a nice man and good professor. He makes jokes during lecture that lighten the environment and make it pleasant. The material itself is hard and can be really dry but he makes the best of it. Not a huge fan of accounting and the software used for homework and tests though. But if you have to take accounting def take him!

Professor Alloca is AMAZING. I had to take ACC210 for an extra elective for my Econ. major, was a bit nervous having never had any prior experience in accounting. He makes the class straightforward and walks you through the material really well. Grades on a project, 3 exams, and HW, but its all online through Wiley Plus. Highly recommend!!

Alloca is very bland and his lectures can drag on but the material and homework is not that bad. It doesn't help that accounting is a dry subject to begin with and taking in online makes it ten times worse but Alloca gets the job done

Decent class and good professor choice. Tests were a bit tricky but nothing over the top. WileyPlus was an annoying site for homeworks and tests, but other than that its a fairly easy class if you take notes.

Online homework, 2 midterms, 1 semester project and a final, all through WileyPlus. Attendance is mandatory at the beginning of the semester. A good professor, would recommend.

TAKE HIS CLASS!!! He's a funny prof and take care of student, reply email fast answer all your questions. I didn't spend much time on this class so B+ seems good to me, if you do your HW, final project, and get 85 on all your exams absolute easy A class

I gotchu fam. The professor is indeed funny. His hws takes A LOT of time. It takes a lot of time but doable. U need to pay 4 wileyplus etextbook. His lectures r boring and if u zone out, it'll feel like he talks in monotone. The term paper is easy bc the HWs prepare u 4 it. Course load is heavy, u must either go to class or read textbook or both.

Such a nice prof! He really is kind, and has a great sense of humor... But accounting isn't an easy A. Pay attention during his lectures, and try to take notes. He is always willing to answer questions and he cares a lot, but, again, this class is definitely challenging... but I guess that's just accounting. Also just do the hw! (hw isn't too bad)

Great professor, extremely knowledgeable, and experienced in accounting. He gives a lot of real-world examples from his work experience showing the application of accounting concepts. He is very chill and makes jokes in a monotone voice. Everything was fair and straightforward. Take him if you enjoy accounting and want to be an accountant.

Everything is timed and followed synchronously. Have to pay for a textbook to access course but homework and tests are relatively easy. Good professor and will help you if you are confused.

Great Professor, I wasn't great at accounting but his class was not too difficult despite that. I found his humor funny and he's a nice guy who cares, easily approachable. Recommend his classes if you can take him.

He's such a nice and friendly professor. His tests are easy if you listen to his lectures and do the homework, exercises. He's willing to answer all of your questions. Accounting is hard and he's trying his best to teach us, yet sometimes he's getting boring because of his non stop speaking (it's easy to lose the train of thought when listening).

Great professor, so funny during the lectures, he actually tries to make accounting interesting, I enjoyed the class, I just wish I did slightly better on the tests, which are multiple choice so that's good. DO THE HW IT'LL HELP YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PROJECT. Also, go to office hours he's super helpful especially if u wanna pursue accounting further.

The course itself ACC 210 is difficult, but Professor Allocca is really nice. I would pay attention to his lectures (they're not boring imo) and take notes. There's homework every like 2 weeks, 2 exams (online), an accounting cycle project (online), and a final (in person).
