Blencke does not follow the Cornerstone requirements. It's like he is teaching his own version of Cornerstone. Compared to the other classes we are always doing something different. He's nice, but I wouldn't recommend him. His instructions were never clear. He would tell you to do something, deny he said it and penalize you for it.
Do yourself a favor...most unorganized cornerstone teacher. Favorites are very obvious, if your a favorite, your grades will shine even if you have not done the work
Blencke started out great, a new UCF Professor and quickly got difficult and unclear. His tests are not easy, you must read and fully memorize everything to do well. I am a good student and pulling a C in this class. He lectures from the slides and holds you the entire length of class each time.
Cornerstone itself is not bad, it is this prof that is bad. He grades based on favoritism, doesn't know the details of the projects he assigns, goes back on everything he says and doesn't listen when you have a problem with something in his class.
DO NOT TAKE BLENCKE FOR CORNERSTONE LAB. He is the most unorganized teacher, has no idea what is going on or anything about the course. The course is already complicated as it is don't take someone who will make it more complicated. He also grades on favoritism, you will know too. He is very rude to others and treats you like an idot.
If you have him get ready to fail cornerstone. He gives your papers to a grad majoring in english and she ripes it apart and then with 10 minutes before blencke gets them back and throws a grade on there, but it depends on how much she marked up your paper. He will NEVER NEVER read anything you hand in it all goes to the grad student. DONT TAKE HIM.

Blencke has no idea what is going on in the class. He knows nothing about the Cornerstone curriculum, which makes it difficult to understand what exactly you are doing. My group had to basically teach ourselves everything by reading other professors websites. We also had to follow up with him on everything before we turned it in, no clarificatio
i took this teacher for MAN 3301 & MAN 4240. it was his first time teacher at UCF so he was a little unprepared. but overall he was a good teacher his test were ok. show up to every class.
Cornerstone in itself is a hard class. Test are hard. I had him in his first class at UCF. We hard more time to work on the first proposal.(9 days more than the rest of the class) Yes he didn't know what he was doing...but I feel he was very easy on all students... I would say take him, I am sure he knows what he is doing by now.
Took him for bok MAN 4240 and MAN3301. He is taking education couses at night to improve his teaching abilities so I wouldn't underestimate this guy. I read here before I signed up for his class that his lectures were severely boring. He actually speaks very well. The problem (that I see) is, my classes are 3 hours long and there is no reason to ta
Very easy professor, but very boring class as well. His classes are dragging as he makes attendance mandatory and prepares an average of 50 slides per chapter (2 chapter per class). There were 4 tests and a final, don't be alarmed with the final, questions come from previous tests and worksheets. Get on his good side & use the BONUS points. easy A.
Mr. Blencke is an excellent professor. He presents material well and makes sure students are aware of their progress. Make sure to attend every class.
Lectures are terrible, he does like 100 slides/class. His study guides aren't helpful and he doesn't test on concepts, he tests on specific info. you prob won't remember. I got the same test grades with studying vs. not studying. Wksheets due every class. I wouldn't recommend taking him just because the class is a pain and you won't learn much.
Easiest class ever. Tests were practically spoon fed to us. 5 exams total plus a team assignment/presentation. Easy grader on the team work. Gives extra credit opportunities. Nice guy, offers his experience when lecturing.
take him!!!
I'm not a fan. His lectures bore me to tears (someone needs to remove the clock on the wall!) Also, the worksheets are demeaning - I can handle the reading on my own pace thank you very much. Lastly, he takes attendance and docks you a letter grade if you miss more than 3 classes. I know he is trying but it doesn't work for me. Nice guy though.
Lectures are boring because his slides are not interactive (no blanks). Tests can be tough, with unexpected questions. Final project is kinda vague which was hard for me. Worksheets due every few classes (vital to your grade but easy points nonetheless) books on reserve in the Library so u dont have to buy the text. Presentations for extra credit
Mr. Blenke is really trying. I think he cares deeply about what he is doing. For this I support him. Expect the following & make your own choice if you want to take him: Weekly worksheets, fair exams, more-or-less mandatory attendance, somewhat dry lectures, though he has his moments, and a very cool guy. Will be taking him again for HRM.
Good teacher, good class! Makes you work but it helps you learn. Worksheets weekly help you focus on what you need to know for tests and tests are easy because of it. He gives study guides and extra credit. Usually lets class out early. Best teacher I've had in a long time, and I feel like actually learned something! I'm taking him again for HRM.
extremly arrogant
Fun teacher. I enjoyed this class a great deal and he's very accessible and easy to talk to... just a normal guy (not sure about the arrogant claim below?!). Anyways - as the others stated, worksheets (love or hate them), study guides, and generally very fair exams. The extra credit is a plus, too! Hope to have more classes with him!
Had Mr.B for two classes in one semester and absolutely loved him. He is honestly a wonderful teacher who will go out of him way for those students he feels put in full effort. Extremely understanding, and his classes were a joy to attend, even in the morning! Will be taking him again, highly recommend him. He does take attendance, so be aware that
I think he is rating himself over and over again
Mr. B is a great professor. If you are an HR major you wil learn alot of valuable material in this class. As long as you attend class and study for the exams you will get a good grade.
A mute could give better directions than this guy. He's completely useless and the fact that UCF call's this the cornerstone course says a lot about the school and their inability to manage anything. I should have went to UF.
Doesn't explain assignments. Is rude and snappy when asked anything. Just an unorganized mess. It seems like they just needed someone to be there to watch our presentations and collect our assignments. They should have just gotten a graduate student or TA to do it. Blencke is just horrible, buts its a stupid class in general.
easy class. exam are not hard, follow the study guide and you will be fine.easy, easy, easy paper about CEO, you can find all info online that you will have to copy and paste. you have to be stupid if you dont get at least high b on paper.on fiinal exam you will have questions from previous exams.
The class is easy enough if you do all the work (alot), but the professor is useless. Acts annoyed if you ask hiim for help, doesn't explain due dates very well and doesn't explain assignments at at all. All cornerstone classes have the same requirements so do yourself a favor and take someone else.
Good professor. Have to go to class and the class is really boring, but overall an easy class. Have to do worksheets, but they are easy. Had to do a position proposal which was easy also. Exams are decent, he gives you a study guide. Don't have to work too hard in this class. You can do a presentation for extra credit.
Professor Carl Blencke is not easy, but he is definitely fair. I learned a lot in his class and he is always willing to help a student out - as long as that student has shown that they want to learn. I say that he is not easy, but truth be told, if you follow directions you will do just fine. The work is not hard, but it is time consuming.
One of the worst professors at UCF. There is a quiz due every single class which is annoying. If there is anything important in the book or in his lecture, it will NOT be on the exam. Unless you completely memorize the entire text, his exams are impossible. He also expects you to memorize 620 (thats not a typo)questions for the Final. STAY AWAY!!!!
"He also expects you to memorize 620 (thats not a typo)questions for the Final." That is so misleading. Your final exam is comprised of questions from your previous exams. He gives you the exams back so you can study them before the final. How can you ask for more than that? He is very helpful and wants you to succeed. Take him if you can.
The class is pretty easy. You hand in worksheet quizzes pretty much every class, but ask before you hand them in and he pretty much gives you all the answers. Tests are taken in class & then given back to study from. Lectures are boring & pointless. He just reads powerpoints and talks about his life. He's decent and passable, but he makes it boring
dont ask this teacher a question he gets mad at you. Makes you do worksheets every week, but helps with some answers in class. Overall his tests are pretty easy if you do the study guides and study them. Im not a great student and still got a B but get ready to be bored to death and have a really bad instructor
This class is easy as long as you work hard. The worksheets and power points are great tools because they help you understand the chapters better. The tests are easy as long as you study the materials he provides with you. Professor Blencke is fair and is always available if you have any questions. I don?t understand why people complain about the
He gives you worksheets that are so easy you just have to look in the book. Also his study guides give you complete insight of the exam. Plus you get several opportunities to get extra credit. Also grades are released immediately. He is very helpful and provides feedback immediately. Emails are responded to immediately.
His lectures are very relevant to the material (uses real life experience to teach). Book, youtubes, and powerpts are helpful, responds immediately to email, posts grade 2 hrs after exam, gives answers to worksheets, gives extremely detailed studyguides, offers tons of extra credit, gives status reports w/ each exam, provides scantrons and pencils.
Professor Blencke is a good teacher and is always willing to help. The worksheets are easy points. He gives study guides that come straight from the tests. Grades and progress reports are almost immediate. Extra credit is always given. I would definitely recommend taking him for any class that he offers.
Fair professor, if you work hard you can earn an A. He will give you all the tools you need to succeed in his class--study guides, worksheets, even a chance for extra points. Don't miss class. It's up to you to succeed. I would take him again if I had the chance.
Good class. cant really miss class though. Bonus is a plus. you shouldnt have a problem getting a B.
Blencke is a great professor. Worksheets and assigned reading may seem like busywork to some, but they really help prepare you for the test. He also offers generous opportunities for extra credit.
He's an OK professor but his tests are tricky & the biggest thing is FAVORITISM. If he likes u, no matter wht u do u'll be ok but if he doesnt..well, you better drop this class cus he'll embarrass u in front of the class, won't help u even if u try to b nice, he'll b mean. 2 this pnt. idk wht i did.He seems nice, but don't let his old-ness fool u
A worksheet is due for every chapter. Yeah it's busy work, but they prepare you for the test and he pretty much gives you all of the answers during class so it boosts your grade. He gives a ton of extra credit and really cares about his students. If you show up to class everyday and read the book, you'll get an A. I definitely recommend him!
He doesn't play favorites at all-everyone gets the same opportunities for extra credit. If you read the book, do the study guides, and study the slides you'll make an A. There's a research paper due, but the guidelines are straightforward and he grades easily if your material looks professional. He's a nice professor, but attendance is mandatory!
I have taken Blencke for three classes and each one is pretty similar in format. As long as you show up and do the worksheets/study guides you'll be fine. He is very clear on his instructions for everything so you can't really screw anything up unless you actually try to.
I have taken Blencke for three classes and each one is pretty similar in format. As long as you show up and do the worksheets/study guides you'll be fine. Very clear on instructions overall.
I have taken Blencke for three classes. As long as you show up and do the worksheets/study guides you'll be fine. Very clear on instructions overall.
rudest man alive! has no patience for questions or his students has no problem yelling at you in front of other students. only good thing about him study guide for each test, worksheets and tons of extra credit opportunities. Boring lectures but make sure you study the slides for the tests!
TESTS AND ASSIGNMENTS ARE'NT THAT BAD BUT DONT BOTHER ASKING HIM ANYTHING HE IS REALLY RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS. ACUTALLY REFUSED TO ANSWER MY EMAILS BECAUSE OF GRAMMAR
Cornerstone Lab. I have never met or even heard of a teacher as rude to his students as this man. He is not helpful at all. Avoid at all cost. Loves making people miserable (I've seen him laugh when doing so).
He's ok. Tests can be a little tricky to get an A, but not too challenging. Extra credit presentations, easy work sheets, and a relatively easy project will help boost your grade. The way he sets up his final also helps a lot. As long as you show up and listen to what he asks of you,you won't have a problem getting in the B+/A-range
The class is not that hard you get worksheets and study guides throughout the semester. He seems really nice until you talk to him one on one. was in and out of the hospital this past semester and still got throught with a B. but was very close to telling him off. he is so rude its ridiculous. youll be fine if you dont ask questions
Blencke is one of my favorite professors! Class was a breeze so long as you do all the worksheets and do the study guides. He gives PLENTY of opportunity for extra credit to help boost your grade. Has a lot of experience and knows what he is talking about. HIGHLY recommend!
Wish I could take Blencke for every course! He is organized and really knows his subject. Lots of extra credit and extremely fair grading. Homework and assignments are actually worth your time and the book was great! NOT rude at all he is always willing to help and really cares about his students. Take him if you have the opportunity!
I can not believe a person like this is a professor at UCF. He never makes eye contact to students during lectures and has boring stories. VERY disrespectful to students and makes them feel stupid when they answer wrong in front of the whole class. Not helpful at all if you have questions and very rude with how he responds.
Attendance was mandatory. He is abrupt with students who have questions and every class was boring. Hard tests with tricky questions.
Professor Blencke is extremely professional and knowledgeable. He wants students to do well in his class and gives plenty of opportunities to succeed. Class attendance is required. There is a study guide that helps for the tests. Extra Credit presentation opportunities available. overall, hes is really nice guy!
He is straight to the point, no BS instructor. If you want to be lazy, don't take him. If you're willing to put the time, then you'll get an A. His study guides are on the test, verbatim. The hardest part is the position proposal paper, but if you ask questions and start early, you'll do fine. Provides a lot of extra credit.
Hate this teacher, but a fair grader. Stickler on grammar, as he should be. He did NOT tell us everything we needed to know. Did not help with the project at all. Felt like I did better than a B but fairly easy lab for Cornerstone.
One of the worst professors I have ever had in my life. He is pretentious and vague and rude. This course is time consuming enough, he just made it ten times worse, take it with someone else. I really wish I would have read Rate my Professor before I signed up. It's sad because I'm easy going and like most teachers but I just cannot deal with this.
Professor Blencke is possibly the worst professor in the UCF College of Business. Class is mandatory (which equates to 3 hours of boring, monotone lecture, read straight off the Powerpoint). 2 Group projects. Tricky tests. Rude to students. Does offer easy extra credit. His class is an easy A. But fair warning: you won't learn anything from him.
By far the worst professor at UCF. Attendance is mandatory, if you miss or leave class early more than 3 times a semester he takes a letter grade away. Very boring; just reads powerpoint slides. project has no clarification at all. Very disrespectful when you visit him. 5 exams in class...15 worksheets. do yourself a favor dont take him!
Professor Blencke is an amazing professor who cares about all of his students. He is a professor who doesn't deal with the b/s; go to class and do the work. He provides a study guide for all exams, if you can't complete those simple tasks, maybe you shouldn't be in college!
Professor Blencke is a great professor who wants to see his student succeed. His expectation of you are very clear and always available for help. Provides study guides for exams,3 of them. Groups projects, extra credit available. You always know where you stand in his class. If you have chance take his class.
Absolutely horrible professor for Cornerstone Lab! Very rude and inconsiderate of his students. If you miss 1 class he deducts points from your grade. I do not suggest you take him at all! He is not clear at all with any of the assignments.
Professor Blencke is awesome, he is very knowledgeable and wants the best for his students. I took Cornerstone Lab with him and we ended winning the competition. He is a strict on grammar for his reports, but just show up to every lab and you should be fine !
Blencke is awesome. Read the chapters and take notes and you'll find the tests easy and get an A no problem. There are 2 group projects. As long as you do the proj you'll get an A no problem. The cumul final is composed of exact questions from the tests throughout the semester, which he gives you a copy of your tests and the answers. Take him!
Dr. Blencke's a good prof. 5 exams including the final. Exams are in class. Final you'll have the option of in class or the testing lab. He gives a great study guide for each exam. There's a report that is required. It takes some time so don't wait to do it. Each week there are worksheets due. He does not curve grades. You get what you earned
Great professor!Everything is crystal clear, study guides are extremely detailed, tons of opportunities for extra credit. I can't believe someone wrote he was rude. Proff. Blencke is respectful, helpful, tells a lot of great work stories that actually helped me to understand material better. Do grammar check!Wish he taught Compensation...
Worst Professor at UCF!! Unprofessional, unhelpful, and a horrible attitude with students. No it all attitude, rude remarks in class, and will do whatever he can to mess up your final grade. Shows no sympathy for his ridiculous absence policy and refuses to give any sort of leeway even with a valid excuse to miss class. Do not take him!!
Anyone who gave this professor a bad review is probably a lazy student. He's very helpful and CLEAR on expectations. The study guides couldn't be more straight forward on what's on the exams and as long as you can FOLLOW DIRECTIONS and check your grammar the performance profile model is easy. Tons of extra credit opportunities! Highly Recommend!
Blencke is a great professor! I took him for Cornerstone, Human Resource Management, and I'm taking another class with I'm in Fall. There are so many opportunities for extra credit and he has a very fair attendance policy. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Everything is very straight forward... DEFINITELY TAKE HIM!
ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. Otherwise he is super laid back and lets you run the show. Grades are based off 3 progress report presentations and some various papers your group has to write. Not a stickler on anything and wants you to succeed. Would definitely take again/recommend ^_^
I took HR Mgmt and Recruitment & Selection with Blencke and he is an awesome professor. Super easy A classes. Just do the worksheets all ahead of time and don't miss more than 6 classes. Very detailed study guides and easy cumulative final. Definitely need the books.
Great professor! Makes class very interesting so that concepts for test are easier to remember and apply. This class should be required for all majors-very useful content. Group project takes time but is not difficult-just make sure someone keeps your group on track and do spellgrammar check. Take him - you will be glad you did!
Makes it very easy to get an A. Quiz on the terms for each chapter every day so study the terms before class. Also his test reviews are word for word identical to the questions on the tests. However he is very rude and disrespectful to students and rambles about his personal life in class. Don't expect to learn anything from him just read the book.
He makes his expectations very clear: don't miss more than 6 classes, known your vocabulary for in class quizzes (extra credit for final), complete online assignments based on reading, 2 self assessments and a group project. He is a difficult grader for grammar/spelling on the assessments and project. Everything else easy and straightforward.
This professor is genuinely awful. The syllabus has due dates only from the previous semester in it, and he is unorganized on other matters as well. When you ask for clarification, he would rather make you feel stupid than help. All he does is talk about himself. Just do the study guides, you'll be fine, but he is extremely rude and unhelpful.
Easy tests, vocab quizzes that add points to any test, two group projects that are simple to do. Such an easy course, and he's a good teacher. Makes lectures bearable.
Dr. Blencke is probably one of my favorite teachers I've had at UCF. I've taken him for 3 classes and passed them all with an A. He has vocab quizzes every class for possible extra credit, the tests are very similar to the study guide, and group projects are straight forward. Tons of extra credit opportunity! Great class and a great teacher!
If u r late, leave early, arrive late it all counts the same. After 3 he will drop half letter grade. 2 research papers, but only have to do one if u r happy wth grade & can use the same grade on the 2nd research paper, online quizzes& class quiz . study chap vocab words for quiz for almost every class. Very old school prof
Honestly, if you cannot manage to get an A or a B in his class, then you're either lazy or negligent. He gives you all the opportunities in the world to pass with extra credit. Very basic format, quizzes on vocab in class, quizzes on chapter content online, two individual papers, group project, and tests in which he provides a great study guide.
Great teacher. Easy class. Take him you wont regret it.
I've had him for two classes. I signed up for him for capstone because I knew how much extra credit he gives out. He's actually a really cool guy you just need to make good friends with him. Honestly if you are on his bad side, you might be out of luck. He makes capstone not nearly as painful as other professors.
Dr Blencke is a wonderful professor he gives out extra credit and I agree with most recent post. as long ur on his good side everything is good. Unfortunately for certain teams he was more rough on instead of some teams in the class which is certainly unfair. but fair grader on the papers make sure to follow guide line and should be fine for class.
He chooses favs. Ex When handing out papers he said to me come up and get it you didnt have back surgery but the girl next to me which we assume is his fav, he delivers her paper to her. hes rude af. Wont answer questions without giving attitude (rolling his eyes, scoffing). Unless he likes you! Never given him any reason to not like me smh
First of all Dr. BlenckBOP seems like a genuine person, yet he applies a distinct attitude towards students for zero apparent reason. He explains stories about his life which are interesting but do not pertain to the material in the slightest. The most frustrating part of the class is dealing with his occasional negative demeanor. Enjoy!
Very nice guy, sometimes goes off on tangents when lecturing.
The small business consulting class is pretty interesting because it gives you real world experience consulting a small business. The entire class is based off of a report of analysis and recommendations to the small business and presentations to the class. If you put in effort to it you'll get an A (the whole class did).
