very interesting professor. fun class, although alot of hw (25 legal briefs)
hard, but very good. he is very fair in grading
A great lecturer, exams are not easy, but the material on them is covered
He is a great lecturer.
A great professor, his lectures are extremely fun and interesing, his class is not easy but if you study nothing is can stop you from a good grade, he is fair and will work with you.
very fair and fun professor, his tests are diffacult
Very good professor - nice looking too.
Gives good lectures and is very entertaining. You must know your material for tests to get the A.
He is very good and funny. He will help you. Prey for snow and rain storms because he is from CT and will most of the time will let you go early. Tests and papers are not easy but graded fairly.
Hey this guy is the most fun teacher I've had in all my years @ Queens. Grades on a curve - if the class does well, you do well. He's smooth looking too :) BONOMO IF YOU READ THIS, YOU ARE A COOL GUY, makin good $ w/the lsat course?
gives you work to do but hes a great teacher and very helpful when you ask something
TOO MUCH WORK AND NOT VERY HELPFUL, TOUGH GRADER
great teacher, goes into a lot of detail which is a must for his classes, and relates well with the students.
awesome guy
The BEST professor at Queens. You will never want to miss his class, he is amazing. You will change your major to poli sci after taking just 1 class with him, and he is really hot! Sorry ladies, we hear he has a girlfriend.
What a great guy; he knows how to teach so that everyone actually understands everything without being boring. He also has a great sense of humor, and I definitely recommend his LSAT class if you can afford it.
Bonomo is the man. He know his stuff, best lecturer in school, highly recomend him.
I loved his classes and his lectures I want to take him again.
VERY nice to look at! Warm and attractive, who cares about the work. I would read as many books and write as many papers as he wants me to. Not only is he ridiculously hot but hes a genius. Definitely recommend!!!!!
disorganized, seems like he has way too much going on in his life, and doesn't dedicate much time to his students. Always in a hurry, hard to catch him before OR after class. It's a shame, he seems like he could really make a difference.
He's very disorganized, and he's very hard to catch. He's also not the best grader (he tells you that he doesn't give A's day one of course). Yes he's attractive and intelligent and makes the class fun. Quite a bit of work involved though.

Excellent prof, i loved coming to class to hear him talk. He is so interesting. Most of the time he will go off on tangents, but that's the most interesting part. Class involves listening to him lecture, doing simple easy briefs, and a simple group case.
A warm, sweet man who always tries to make time for his students.
no matter what class you take him for he is knowledgable and friendly. He has a sense of humor as well as a good teaching method. Many students take him more than once. the only downside is group projects, though no midterm and a fun case at the end. EXCELLENT all the way the schools best proffesor
i took bonomo for con law 1 and 2 and loved both classes so i decided to take the other class that he taught and although i thought it was interesting he waited for the last 2 weeks to assign a 10 page paper while i was studying for my other finals he tends to cram all the work at the end.
didn't need the class, just took it cause he was so cute. class was ok. he is a very smart man, he really knows his stuff
Excellent professor. I enjoyed his class tremendously. Really knows how to teach and make class interesting at the same time. Extremely knowledgable. 1 paper, 1 quiz, and 1 final all in December so he crams it at the end. Gotta keep up with the cases though, but they dont take much time and are interesting to read.
AMAZING! This class was by-far the best! VERY KNOWLEDGABLE! It is in your best interest to listen! He TRULY cares about his students and wants you to learn something. I have taken with me many things from this class which I will use in life. A very Enlightened person. He listen to everything you have to say. THE BEST PROFESSOR AT QUEENS!HANDS DOWN!

Professor Bonomo is a very good teacher. You learn a lot in this course since the subject matter is very interesting. The work is intense though. You have to do briefs for every class, read the chapters and know legal terms and legal reasoning. Make sure you attend class and participate. I recommend this class to anyone who is willing to work.
Not a very good choice if you want a professor who is not there to trick students. Took him over the winter and got a c in a class I could easily get an A in with any other professor. May be he is different in a regular semester. Good Luck!
his class is intersting, but goodl luck asking him questions after class as he walks out right away. He does not care about his students and he makes his class harder tham it needs to. He only teaches to boost his own ego. Take him only if you want to deal with someone whos goal is to make things as hard as possible for his students.
Dont take him, hes very hard and all the work is crammed in the end of the semester.
He is a very hard professor, who tries very hard to make the class harder than it needs to be. If you couldnt answer a question you would get a point off your grade. He doesn't like answering questions after class and he is not interested in helping you out. DONT TAKE HIM
I REALLY regret taking him. One of the most unorganized professors on campus. Never goes by the syllabus. Not easy or lenient when it comes to grading either. Crams EVERYTHING in the end of the semester!
Prof Bonomo is the man! He makes class fun, interesting, and applies it to real life. Those who say he's hard are very lazy people. The workload is very reasonable. 2 multiple choice terminology tests right out of the book, and a paper which is not hard to do if you attend the classes and read some of the cases over. Bonomo for Prez 2008!
he mskes class hard, even if it is your major
In one word, brilliant!!
He's argubly the hottest professor in QC. Haha aside from that, his lectures are a bit mundane and he's a fairly hard grader. It's very hard and near impossible to recieve an A in his courses. You have to attend his classes regularly to stay up to speed with the course material and he also notices your absences or tardiness.
Overall excellent professor... However, he is by no means easy. You really need to put effort in this class by attending it and doing the required case studies in order to do well since he calls on you. There are 2 multiple choice exams, one midterm and one final, as well as an opinion paper which are required for this course.
Bonomo is 1 of best @ QC. Extremely fair & great sense of humor. If you make effort and do work, you will get the grade. Taken a couple of classes w/him, incl. winter session. Winter is rough b/c so much work in so little time. Definately take Bonomo. You will enjoy the class. Busy man but cares about his students.
recommended to all, poli sci major or not. he is entertaining and very knowledgable. take him for any class he teaches and you won't regret it als long as you do your work.
Good teacher, very interesting but is a hard grader in that he doesnt like to give out A. Took his class and worked hard and I got a B. You really have to go the extra mile to get an A in this class. Otherwise hes good
The guy actually reads this! He said so in class this summer :)! I enjoyed his lectures - interesting and not afraid to speak his mind.if you study his notes, come to the review session and pay attention you'll get an A. Show some interest in the subject and he will curve your grade. Take him.
it's hard, intense and you will need to do some work. but His classes are worth it. great sense of humor, always availabe to speak to,and a/o to others, he cares. The class is interesting and very worthwhile. He's probably my favorite teacher and person in Queens, along with Professor Alteras(History).I still hang out in his office and talk whenever.
He is very hard and it shows that he teaches to boost his ego.

he is a hard professor
I rate a 3-ease because i like this kind of crap (even though its nauseating on some level). if bonomo would marry me as a reward for making it out of law school alive my life would have far more meaning....... oh hell i'm too much. really.
HE DOESNT DO MUCH WRITING - TALKS MOSTLY
his exams are diffcult
Prof Bonomo was the best for any of those people who believed his class was hard i hope they dont go to law school. He is a great lecturer, and funny guy. Helped me study for the LSATS and really showed effort to make sure i understood how to take the test.
Exams NOT hard IF you know vocab andthe cases. Lectures were okay but a little stale. Runs through cases sorta fast 'cause he wants out of there at night so when it comes time to write your paper it's a little tough. Rumor has it that Con Law II is better than I - he's more into it. Good guy - cute too!
Doesn't write, bring recorder. Great attitude and yet tough, this is a good professor who cares. If your a Pol. Sci major take him.
terrible....doesnt care at all about his students
I don't understand how any sensible professor would bluntly advocate for the annexation of Cuba so that it would become a US colony! Seriously, even the extreme right wing conservatives won't say it like this guy does.
Excellent. Passionate about his teaching.
He is a Great Professor. I took him for the winter semester and I took 2 of his classes which were PSCI 102 & 209. He cares and is willing to help. Attendance is mandatory, and if you miss days he will take points off. HE KNOWS ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT..I HIGLY RECOMMEND YOU TAKE HIM. OK!
An excellent professor
I took this class during the winter session. I was like a puppy lapping up every word he said. likes for you to participate, unfortuantely i am shy. But I was never bored, and learned alot. only got a B, but hope to def take another class with him, highly recommend.

Bonomo is a good teacher who engages students in lectures. Con. Law isn't the most interesting subject-but he kept my attention in the 3 hour sessions. Very well prosed and knowledgeable about politics. Also he is a good pre-law advisor. Pay attention to lectures and be prepared for the semester paper-it could make/break your grade.
Easy on the eyes, hard on the grades! Not a major but considering it. His class was never boring and he knows his stuff cold. If u want to actually learn something take his classes. Wish he wrote more on the board and his exams require u to think (ugh!) so pay attention. He is approachable and really cares about his students.

You'll learn a lot. He's VERY fair. Knows his stuff cold. Don't know why they say he is a hard grader. If you do the work, you should get at least a B+ or A-. If not, you should talk to him, he let me do addtnl work to raise my grade, got an A. Don't pass him up!
PAY CLOSE ATTENTION.IF U WANT TO READ ALOT, PUT ALOT OF TIME AND EFFORT AND RISK UR GRADE BEING LOWERED BY A SIMPLE END OF THE TERM PAPER..DONT TAKE THIS CLASS... THE PROBLEM IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE CLASS.HE SPLITS IT UP IN2 SO MANY SEGMENTS.MEANING THAT U HAVE TO OVER ACHEIVE IN ALL. IF U MESS UP IN ONE,YOUR GRADE IS REALLY IMPACTED. THINK TWICE!!
Hands down the most attractive professor at the QC! He's extremely helpful and attentive to his students needs. He doesn't need an ego boost as others have mentioned, he's a brilliant man and truly cares about his students. If you don't do well he will do his best to help you out. He's avaliable all of the time so just stop by his office.
The Italian Stallion of Queens College! He's knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. I would recommend him to everyone taking Poli Sci 101. If you work hard, he will notice and put that into consideration. The lectures are very intriguing. I'm so glad I took him in the summer, even though it was at 9 am I still looked forward to coming
Does not know how to teach. Everyone would just yell and scream about a topic of their choice that didnt pertain to the class. 70% participation, but nothing to participate on. Hes an absolute child. Only take him if you are a pompous know-it-all like he is and dont want to learn anything.
This professor is not recommended for he does not even care if u go to class or not.
The best professor I had so far in PSCI after prof. Ozgercin. He is a very fair professor. I would highly recomend his classes.

The best in QC by far!! way more fun then those boring over paid, under qualified proff.
He talks about how you should give it your all b/c 30 yrs from now you'll look back and wish that you had, but I would say he gives his own job only half the effort. Only thing, well, two things I like is (1) no attendance; and (2) no surprises. Don't take if you have high GPA: he's a low grader.
i heard a student handed in her final paper with a self-addressed envelope so she could get a copy of the paper and the guy mailed a black sheet of paper with a big fat B on it. totally unnecessary.
He is an easy professor! Take him in the winter, he does not use the textbook and he is extremely entertaining! His exams he claims are conceptual but it is pure memorization. He tells you what is on the exam like a week in advance, there are no papers. The winter class is short go on participation is needed. Easy A!
Very smart professor, has a lot of interesting things to say-- but very repetitious. Incredibly strict grader- says he would never give himself an A, so he definitely never gives those out to his students. Take him if you don't mind having a B on your transcript.

I forgot to add that contrary to previous reviews on him, he does give A's. If you work hard you can do well and get one. If you're interested in doing all the work to get one, you can.
SOOOOO GOOOOOD!! I love him.
Not a good professor, he is ethusiatic but your attendance & participation don't matter. He assigns 55 briefs but doesn't even read all of them. Don't waste your time putting in 2 much effort and still getting a B
I have taken Bonomo several times. He is by far the best and most influential professor I have come across in my entire college career. He makes the student open their minds beyond the social confines. If you are ignorant and close-minded about your opinions don't take him. Just come to class and do the work. Simple enough. A+++
Prof. Bonomo is a particularly good professor for political science majors. The workload for Con Law II was decent for a higher level course and if you're an aspiring law student, this class is for you. The lectures are well structured, the material is pretty clear, the exams are not too difficult and the briefing is definitely a tool you will need
Okay so professor is the type of guy that either you love or you dont.. he's hot in a obama kinda way.. he's got that certain je ne sais qua that just makes you want to listen to him although much of what he says is pretty cynical, or as he puts it, 'realist' you will gain more than a grade, as you will deff. learn a thing or two about life <3
an all around good guy. he's fun to listen to in class, and he makes great points about various issues. his tests were easy, and he throws no surprises at you. props to Bonomo for being a great professor!
One of the worst professors at QC. I have a 3.8 yet i didn't get an A either time i took him (A-/B+) despite working very hard. What kills your grade is his written assignments. He is a very harsh grader. Ask any 2 or 3 ppl who have taken him: He is generally likable yet you don't learn anything and you get a poor grade.
The best professor at Queens. He is very demanding but you learn a lot and your grade reflects what you put into the class. Also really nice to look at <3
Bonomo is a very knowledgeable tacher.I took him for both PSCI 100&102 in the summer of 2009.From my experience I thought he taught well but the only thing that I didn't like about him there wasn't any textbook he provided and barely wrote on the board. His exams weren't too bad but a lot of people had questions about their final grade with him.
Awesome, fair and honest.
Hard Class. Bonomo demands extensive case knowledge, and runs a tight ship - no fooling around in his class unless he's looking to joke around. His multiple choice exams (2 of them) were pretty easy - you get the terms and cases in advance... but his essays are HARD. You get TWO term-paper essays (10pgs each double spaced). Good for law school.
Caution, it's obvious that he play's favorites. Despite having extensive knowledge on case law and the constitution, his advice (according to attorney's I spoke with) on how to write legal papers is not great for students wanting to study law. For law school advice, see a real law professor.
Took him twice. 4 tests all 95-105. Got B's twice. Grading is very arbitrary. I attended all classes. Suffice it to say, you will learn and his viewpoints are very interesting, albeit borderline bizarre at times. He is friendly and funny, but he seems hardly interested in assisting students- when he does it's cursory. Make sure he knows who you are
He is an interesting guy and is very intelligent. You do learn a lot from his class, but you do have to read all books to do well on his tests. He does not write on the board, he just talks and has discussions with the class. Overall, if your interested in learning about poly sci take him.
Probably the best QC professor for Polysci students. He teaches in a way where the class gets a unbiased and relevant viewpoint of politics and democracy. If your an aspiring politician this is the professor for you - he is very engaging. If your a weak minded student who is lazy do not take him as you will not do well.Assigns a copious amount of read
Mentally Stimulating. I had him for Con Law I and II, Judicial Process etc (Polisci Major. He is very on point and real about his perception of the world, politics and law. I appreciate his eagerness to teach and make you understand certain concepts about government. He is witty and keeps you on your toes. You won't leave his class without lear
I took his winter class, the class was 5 days a week for 3 hours, but Bonomo understood that and tried his best ot make the class interesting. He is a funny guy, and grades his tests fairly (strictly multiple c.) I did not buy his textbook, and we didn't have homework. Paying attention, studying your notes, and asking smart questions will pay off
Just an AMAZING Professor, I am a PolySci Major and I take all of my classes with him. Just a great Professor!!! Highly Recommended.
One of my favorites! Not a joke class, but if you actually want to learn, take him. A bit of a tricky grader but if you try you can do well. He's so interesting, charismatic and controversial in a fun way. I loved his class, very helpful outside of class too. Highly recommend.Made me want to learn more and take interest in politics. Awesome prof!
Bonomo is awesome, you'll learn to see the poltical process for what it is after taking him. Easy tests and you'll learn a lot.
Great prof, highly recommend for those interested in law and politics. I learned so much about the Constitution and government. 4 tests and cumulative final, but very fair if you study/read thoroughly. No papers, but if you can't deal w/ reading stay away, it is crucial to do well. The book may look scary but it isn't bad if you make the effort.
hes a very good teacher and an extreme realist. But deffinitely take this class as long as you pay attention you will not need the textbook. Also his class is not all about learning the information. He is more focused on teaching you to actually use your mind.
One word: BRILLIANT!
he is crazy he talks about the world out there and how tough it is for 3 hr in summer class 2011 and when it comes to test there are stuff that we had not talked about obviously!!!! DONT TAKE HIM
One of the best professors I have ever taken and one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life. If you need or want to take a PSCI class, take him! The work is not easy but his lectures are crystal clear and he is very helpful. You will not be disappointed!
Constitutional Law is complex, so I can't really blame him for his painful tests (multiple choice/ matching). He's funny and really informed and I'd definitely recommend him.
He is great. Literally all you have to do is read the book and that is it. You will definitely get an A or Aplus if you do the readings and have any comprehension skills. TAKE HIM, if you want to learn.
Bonomo is a stand up Guy. You will get back what you put in and then some. He really cares about what he's doing. Fair balanced and unafraid. Take his class if you like politics and want to learn about it. Its no cake walk but its worth it.
Bonomo is straight up the man. Great guy, says some great jokes and makes class fun. Definitely take him even if you don't have a law interest. He would make a fun elective but there is work involved. But it is fun work, I promise that. He takes his job seriously but he understands that we are students as well. Awesome well balanced guy
Took him for Judicial Process and Con Law I and II. If you simply read the material and listen to his lectures, it's hard to get anything below and A in his class. He is a definite rambler and goes off topic quite a lot, but the topics are interesting, so who cares? All three times I've taken him, he has thrown in a "curve ball" test, so be careful
For this class there are 3 papers due that account for 90% of your grade and the other 10% is attendance. You HAVE to go to class, otherwise you will be lost and will not know how to write your papers, since he only goes over them in class. If you attend class, pay attention and do the papers, you will pass. Recommend his 289 class over others
Took his online class over the winter break. Very clear in the syllabus what is expected of you. As long as you keep yourself organized you will do fine! He is also very easily reachable if you have any problems with the online exams. GREAT experience!
One of my best classes. Great for those interested in law school, but if you think he's too difficult or gives too much work, you may as well give up the notion of law school now. Not the easiest college class but if you listen in class and study you will succeed. Very entertaining controversial guy, was never bored. Gives a good prelaw background.
Love, LOVE Bonomo. Great Professor. His lectures are usually very entertaining and conversational which keeps students engaged. He does assign a decent amount of work, but it is a college class so this should be expected. If you pay attention to his lectures you'll do fine, and not paying attention is harder than paying attention in his class.
What can I say, Bonomo is not easy, but it's not impossible to do well in his class. There is a alot of exam, but their simple if you listen in class. Class discussions were great and I never fell asleep. Hey Bonomo, you definitely deserve a Raise. We all loved you in Con Law2
I love Bonomo. He covers all the material in the most interesting and fascinating manner possible, and that can be hard with some of the topics. Best to take him in person but his online classes in the winter and summer are a quick way to pick up credits even if you're working or on vacation. BEST PROF AT QC!!
If you're taking the class expecting to get a good grade, this professor is not for you. The class was very easy as far as the work load. But his grading seemed almost arbitrary. If you're doing it to know the material you should take it in person.
Do yourself a favor and take his class
He's the greatest Poly Sci teacher of all time online or in class the greatest!!!!!
Great professor who strays away from textbooks completely. The stuff you learn is real life things that are happening now which I LOVED. It makes you wonder how it's graded though; so theres quizzes off of boring youtube videos & a paper. The class is great he's ingenious. PSCI MAJORS MUST TAKE HIM.
Absolutely fascinating, not the easiest A but a fair grader and it shouldn't be trouble if you go to class and listen to his lectures. Possibly one of the best professors I have had in my entire life. Makes his material fascinating and is a captivating lecturer. Highly recommend you take him if the option is available.
Loves to teach. He is very passionate about his work, speaks clearly, and will answer any questions you have.
Having took it just for credit and having no interest I was surprised how easy it was. I definitely recommend taking this class online in the winter because it wasn't too much work. 3 tests and a few blog posts from the reading.
online class) weird grading policy. he says there's no fixed answers to writing but it seems he wants conservative, fixed, text-book answers. If ur good at writing then take him, otherwise i wouldn't recommend online class. I answered the questions but am not good at writing, i received bad grades. easy class tho his grading is arbitrary
This course needs less regurgitation of information and more critical thinking / discussion between students and the professor. Hurried communiques with run-on sentences and grammatical errors reflect poorly on the professor. This felt more like a 100-level introductory class.
One test online other in class. easy class but you need to know about the films in order to do well
I've taken a few classes with him and decided to take one with him online. The online class was great (you have to do the readings but the tests are straight-forward) but I really miss his in-class lectures. Fair grader and always available to help.
It is possible to get an A-A. But, you will have to study ALOT. I studied between 10-15 hrs for each test. Only 2 tests, each worth 45%, plus 10% participation. You need to ace both tests to do well in class. He goes off topic many times during his lectures, and lectures can be boring. It can be a useful class, if you want to go to law school.
UGH, Waste of time and money. Gives questions on the exams that we have no readings for. I was told to stay away from him and I should have listened. Readings were interesting, and it's too bad the exams made reading feel pointless. Also, he doesn't respond to students' emails, which is rude.
first test was easy, second was alot harder
Stay away from his classes is all I have to say. It's very unfortunate that he is the only one who teaches con law at QC.
He makes law cases interesting and fun. If you do the reading and go to class you'll be fine. I also took an online summer intro class with him but missed having him in person. He's prelaw advisor too so a great source of law school info and always takes time for students. A professor who actually cares. Rare find.
He is a fantastic professor. He has some interesting lectures that have kept my attention for the entire class period. He's funny, knows what he is talking about, and is really eyeopening. Very intelligent man. Just make sure you read the two books used and you don't even need to show up much. Just make sure you read and understand the topics.
Be prepared to read and read some more. If you don't read, you will not succeed. This is my fifth class with Prof. Bonomo and he's by far my favorite at CUNY. No surprises on his tests as long as you read--his tests consist of books used and lectures, doesn't write on board so be prepared. You get the grade you work for.
Professor Bonomo is an excellent professor who cares about his students and gives great lectures. Even though the class was 3 hours at night, he managed to keep us engaged, which isn't easy. There were three essays, and if your last paper was your best, you had a chance for an A. This was my 2nd time taking him, and I don't regret it.
I, like many in his class, have taken him multiple times before. Business as usual for this professor, you know exactly what you are gonna get: 50% midterm, 50% final. Attendance is not often taken, and everything on the test is in the textbook. But the lectures are fascinating. This is a guy you can learn from. He treats his students like people.
I took this online class for 4 weeks and it was the worst thing I've ever done. The entire class is based off of 2 online exams that are based solely on 2 textbooks you are expecting to read in full. This in itself is ridiculous, because how am I gonna read a 350+ page book in a week and a half? Both exams were ridiculously hard and not clear at al
It was a big mistake. It's true that there's only 2 online exams worth 50% each, but the materials i had to study were too many and long website articles. Please don't studying a day before the exams. So many details to remember. If you take it, i'd suggest you to copy the questions and search them in google. It will save the anxiety and time.
My 2nd online class with him so I knew what to expect. The upside to online is that you can be home or on vacation and get the credits in, but the downside is more reading and with a 4 week session that can be tough. He's very responsive so that helps if you have questions. I look forward to taking more classes with him.
2 exams both worth 50% each. The exams are based on 1 website that contains too many topics and pages to read. To make matters worst, the tests are timed and must be done in one sitting! Avoiddddd!!!! Can ruin GPA.
Took this class in Summer 4w2 semester. I took the professor seeing a lot of positive reviews. 2 Matching exams worth 50% each. 45 questions and 60 minutes timed. I had to study some never ending articles about who rules America. I didn't exactly know what to study. I had full of panics 4 weeks. Don't know about others but I won't take him again
There is a lot to read but it's the same amount of reading as my other classes so maybe if you're majoring in art or music you will think it's too much. The tests were pretty easy they are matching multi-choice so easier than regular multiple choice and he doesn't try to trick you. If you can't get at least a B+ or A- then you're not even trying.
Easy way to get a class in during the summer. I took this class while on vacation and love online because I don't have to go to class and drown in my own sweat at QC. The deal with online is that you have to read because you're not going in to class but come on you can read from the beach. They should offer all classes online
I am a political science major with a 3.69 GPA. But i gotta admit those website articles tried my patience. Good for those who didn't have to work in summer and spent dad's money to pay tuition. But if you're working full or part-time, AVOID it at any cost. Easy B. Hard A-
I didn't have to buy a book that I would never use again all the readings were links and you just have to do the reading and the tests are multiple choice. No essays no papers no deadlines other than tests. Summer online class so easy to fit into regular life.
Chill guy. He gives a midterm and a final. You don't need to even need to buy the books just take good notes and you'll do well. No HW or papers so just show up.
Such a chill guy. He says he's gonna take attendance and then doesn't, so it's a hit or miss with that. But attendance is 15% of your grade. Both the midterm and final were online, take home, open notes which was great. Definitely recommend him.
Prof. Bonomo was the reason I changed my major to Political Science. His lectures were informative and so insightful. His view on politics and ability to communicate with his students makes it impossible not to fall in love with the subject. Extremely difficult to pass, let alone ace, his tests, but he gives you everything you need in his lectures.
took him for an online class. finally. a straight forward, to-the-point class. the exams are open book and the text book is online for free. I am happy I had this class I was able to have a relaxing winter and actually learn something while earning an A.
Fantastic lecturer. Connects complex topics with real world politics. Huntington and Dahl look intimidating, but he'll let you know what to focus on. The man is helpful and funny. Gives out a horrible syllabus, so you have to listen attentively to his instructions. Take really good notes!!! Perfect class for GenEd requirement.
Highly knowledgable! The only thing is he doesn't allow for much class participation. It will just be him giving a lecture for the whole time period. Adults tend to learn better when they are able to engage in the conversation and ask questions. However, there wasn't really room for us to engage as he took up class time with his lectures.
I took his online summer class. There was one midterm and a final. I had to buy both books .There was no online teaching just him telling us what reading to do for the midterm or final . Personally I wouldn't take him again.
Don't take this class unless you are really interested in political sciences, it is a lot of reading.
Took this class online in the summer for 1 month. 1 Midterm (50%) 1 Final (50%) Each is multiple choice. The material is just two books, which are difficult to decipher. You're not getting an A. If you're comfortable getting the easiest B+ to C- in your life, this is the class for you.
Took an online course after being a straight A student for Pre-Med, with a minor in history. The tests were unclear, made no sense, and the questions/answers were vague phrases that were supposed to be matched, but all of the answers were the same thing! Would not suggest this class EVER!!!
He based his class on a book that was difficult to get access to. He gave 2 exams which were 50% each. Tests were based on the readings (and there were a lot!) Questions on exams were vague, and some questions were about things we didn't learn. It takes a day or to for him to respond to emails. Wouldn't recommend.
The textbooks were online and the final grade was based 50% midterm 50% final, each were based on the readings. There were a lot of readings and I personally barely read them but had them with me while taking the exams and I managed to pass the class.
Took as an online course over summer- there's only a midterm and final. He provides a link to an on-line textbook and the tests were pretty straightforward. My wifi cut mid-exam and he let me start back where I left off- not a lot of professors would allow this. TBH, this class was pretty easy if you took high school gov.
Lectures are really interesting and practical. Makes a big deal about attendance but then he barely every takes it. His test was online and not really based on anything we did in class. The textbook is online but don't bother reading it. Great guy but don't think I would take him again.
Either make this class your first class or last class of the day because he has a tendency of canceling class whenever he feels like. So don't get stuck with a long @#$% break in between classes. Barely takes attendance, textbook online, 2 tests. If you want to knock out a required class and don't really care for political science - this is it.
Was worried taking this class because of some of the reviews. Ended up being great. Exams are curved, only 2 of them anyway. He's fun and makes everything clear. If you have questions he is more available than most profs. He even set up a skype appointment for me when I got stuck on something and couldn't get to his office hours. Nice guy.
attendance doesnt count but can help ur grade... all he does is talk about current events.... no hw or quizzes.. gives out review sheet for midterm and final, both are a little difficult but manageable. very nice guy..
Noithing crazy, tests are the usual. No essays. Great guy, also prelaw advisor so really helpful for that. Easy to get in contact with.
he's very funny, attendance doesnt matter usually he only takes it 10 times a semester, but his lectures are really funny and interesting, he's informal with the terms though so the things on the tests(that are online) aren't aligned w what he says in class word for word. I didn't like how the class grade was JUST on the 2 tests so if you do bad gl
What a great guy! Took him for research skills and was scared of the stats. He taught how to use stata and walked me through the paper, had a few skype meetings with him that helped a lot. Wrote the paper in parts during the semester so no big paper to just write at the end
Prof. Bonomo was a great professor and truly wants you to learn something. He is very clear in class and will explain multiple times. However, his tests are extremely unclear. He only has a midterm and a final (online) and they are very specific and difficult to understand. He is fair though and effective though. Truly wants you to learn something
Easiest online class I took this summer! Graded only on 3 exams which is on quizlet (mostly definition based) He gives you the link to the textbook so you don't buy. His tests are like matching words to definitions, so don't be scared by the number of questions. There wasn't any other work, I never read the textbook. Easiest A you could get!
I wouldn't take the LSAT PREP with him. There's no grand strategy he gives you, it's just a Q&A session
Good class to take if youre thinking about law school. Lots of cases but he explains everything. Nothing crazy no surprises. Also good to get to know because he does prelaw and everything law related. TONS of connections. One of the only profs you hear good things about. Would def take again
I took him for conlaw1 and conlaw2 I wish I could have taken more. Don't waste your time with the prelaw seminars bc people ask pointless questions and it goes on forever. But this is who you want for lsat prep. Worked with him privately he got me up to a 167.
Great class! Only assigned 1 book, gives a midterm and a final.
He's a good guy, smart professor. We had some miscommunication about the grading system where I failed the course b/c of something stupid, but he gave me the opportunity to fix it with a paper. Nothing cheating related btw. I thought I'd write him this positive review as a thank you. Take him, you'll be happy you did
Good Professor and Advisor. Material was interesting and important, and class was relevant to Pre-Law. However, there should have been more clarity with regard to group projects, deadlines, and other important information in order to avoid any confusion early on. Overall, a good Professor.
He is a human. He listens and responds to help, not to respond. I recommend this professor! He is def top tier when it comes to being a professor !
Everything is online including all the exams. I would not take him again because the online midterm and final can either give you A or a C-. Be smart about it. 50% Midterm and 50% Final. It easier to fail in this class than pass
Disorganized lectures and unhelpful professor. Contradicts himself constantly. Seems the good reviews are from prelaw advisees, because his actual teaching is bad. No discussion of constitutional interpretation or analysis. Just memorizing cases. Dont take if you want to learn about the Constitution. Very disappointing class.
I took this class during the summer session. It's an easy A. There are readings from an online text that you do on your own time. There are 5 tests that are matching and open notes. If you read the text and take notes you should get an A. He is amazing. You really should take him. He's SOOO nice!
I took this class as a summer course. Our grading was based on a midterm and final both matching questions and extremely easy- based on his video lectures. He is so nice and understanding, take him!!!!!!
Out of all my online classes this semester, he gave the best lectures that kept me focused. Also, PSCI 288 is an easy class.
Very simple, read the book, listen to the lectures, midterm and final. As long as you ready the book youll passed the class.
gave us a 3 hour recorded audio lecture on the first day of class. Dipped until the midterm which is MC and difficult because you learn nothing in the class. Dipped until the final which is MC and difficult because he has not taught anything. Worst professor I have ever taken. High chance of failing and no curve for my class. grade only exam based
You are on your own. This man should not be paid for "lecturing ". You will read hundreds of pages and be given no clue as to what is actually on the exam. DO NOT RISK YOUR GPA
You will have 1 long , careless video lecture posted. Of which NONE of it appears on the exam. This Professor took FOREVER to respond to an email and then didnt even answer what I asked. I think the good reviews are seriously fake. There is no way . No way. If you dont care about potentially failing after working SOOOOOOOOOOO hard, be his fool.
Great class fo take over the summer! Clear and simple lectures with only 2 exams- both weighted equally! Very nice and understanding! Def take either for credit or fun!
I have token Professor Bonomo for multiple classes in the past and I would have previously given him a 4.5. Since going remote, his courses have become incoherent and his video lectures are sporadically uploaded if at all, with no clear schedule or thesis. The course grade is 50% midterm and 50% final. Most students failed the first exam terribly.
Lectures were interesting but not organized or very coherent. This made the two exams, which counted for the whole grade, challenging, especially since the questions themselves weren't very clear.
I took him in the Summer 2022 and he gave me the lowest grade I ever got even though I studied and worked really hard in his class. I thought it was unfair that the exams were confusing as hell with unusual wording and choices. On top of that, he was a really tough grader. I would never take him again.
This was asynchronous, reading was assigned, you just needed t oread, listed to the lectures. Do your research and understand the concepts and terminologies. Its a basic class, do your studies and you would be fine. Online Multiple choice test.
This was asynchronous, lectures posted, work at your own pace. Read and research the processes on your own. Test were multiple choice online. If you did your research and reviewed the terminologies you will be able to get an A. Don't rest on your laurels, i took this class in Summer session.
This class is very fun, he brings in lawyers to come and chat with you. We had to do 1 Online MCQ exam (you get to take it twice) and hand in an opening statement (2 - 3 pages) both at the end of the semester. There are no assignments, so nothing to boost your grade if you flunk either the exam or the paper.
Fun class with engaging guest speakers. Manageable workload - one exam and a short paper. unstuck ai helped with exam prep. Recommend for an easy credit.
Very fair, knowledgeable and understanding. Provides reviews before exams. Exams are multiple choice and there are no surprises. Allows discussions during class, but will lecture the entire time if there is no participation. Easily accessible for guidance, inquiries and/or discussions. Would take his classes over and over, if I could.
This class specifically was very easy to pass because it was only graded by two things: exam and final exam. Both were online and open book, and were open for 3 days. I found the content boring because the entire class he just rambles on and it's only lecture. Most students would skip because he doesn't' require attendance. Take it for easy A
i loved learning about the legal system & civil/criminal law for PSCI 282. if u want to know more about how courts and cases work, youll find the class very interesting. sometimes i would zone off since he indeed lectures a lot. but it was fun and enjoyable to learn. midterm and final online all multiple choice, passed easily on each.
He's very conservative and inserted his political views in class claiming science is not always correct, pushing antivax agenda and conspiracy theories about Covid-19, and pretty sure is a tr*mp supporter. Inserting his personal opinions is just weird
Very easy class. He doesn't always respond to emails. He makes the class very easy. Two online exams consisted of one midterm and one final. Class is pretty straight forward. No tricks
Gave the wrong final grade despite me having A's on both final & midterm exam. His exams are super confusing because he marks the correct answers as wrong. So many students had an issue on this but he didnt respond to emails. He made my GPA lower for no reason. The class grade is only determined by the midterm & final. Worst professor i've ever had
there are two secret codes every class which you need for the quiz at the end of the semester. you only get two hours for both the final and participation quiz. never answers emails.
He changed the way he does things this time. He gives nonsensical phrases and you need to record. He will quiz you at the end of the semester which is 10% of the grade. The exams are online. The questions might be worded weirdly. If you want to take a PSCI course that is online and it doesn't require writing a lot, he is the guy to take it with
Give out random phrases and he will quiz you on them on the final. So write them down and the dates. Two online exams and that is the course. You will learn a lot about the legal process. Give good examples.
The textbook had nothing to do with the exam. He never asks for feedback or how people are grasping the material, he doesn't tell us what will be on the final or midterm. He only has two grades and the wording on his exams are convoluted and hard to read. will bring down your gpa never take him again!
He robbed me of my final time by making us use our final time to do some participation quiz rather than him not being Lazi in keeping track of who shows up and actually engaging the class to see who participates like every other professor does.he loves to hear himself drone on the whole class though.never has class discussions.Never answers emails
He writes his good reviews. He is a racist who supports trump and claims to tolerate other political views but he doesn't. He is anti vax and believes immigrants should be deported and put into concentration camps and what the Trump administration is doing putting kids in cages is okay. He is okay with legal immigrants not getting due process.
He never checks on how students are doing only loves to hear himself ramble. Ultra conservative MAGA Trump supporter who doesn't tolerate any other view. Never answers emails and puts in any effort into teaching.
Instead of doing his job by grading us himself on participation, he decided to take time out of final exam to make us take some bogus participation quiz Didn't inform us of adding 15 minutes to the participation quiz and we had to rush to take the final He never lets students participate he rambles the whole class, he doesn't respond to emails
