Excellent teacher. Was lucky to take him for pre algebra, algebra and algebra 2. He is very fair, will explain and not read directly from text. I highly recommend him.

Very good teacher. Goes through every example step by step. However, there is a lot of work. If you can't learn the material in his class your just lazy.

teaches problems step by step over overhead. math problems can get lenghty, so at times his handwriting can get a lil' confusting, but not a problem if you keep up as he writes. I bombed on the finals and still passed because good grades on quizes, tests, and homework. Just do all the work, no matter how accurate, and you will probably pass.

He's the best math teacher I have ever had! So into what he's doing, and explains things clearly. A little boring at times, but has a guarantee that you will know what you are doing at the end! I would grealty reccomend him! (especially if your not good with math!)

Prof Broderick is the nicest Math Prof at El Co! His class is easier than most Math 70 class. His test is not that hard if you study. He grades homework, so if you are not homework person, he's not for you. His writing is not clear sometimes, but if you ask him a question, he will help you very well with a smile!!! Highly Recommended!!!

Great math teacher. If you come to class everyday and do the homework you should do pretty well. The only thing is that he keeps you in class for the whole time.

This is my second class with him. I have to say he teaches really good. If you want to prepare for next math course, his class is a must. His class is not hard as long as you study. Tests are not hard and gives partial credit. I think he is easier than other 170 profs. I highly recommend him for anyone who loves class where prof. actually teaches.

The professor is very clear in his lecturing. His quizzies are fairly easy. The test aren't that bad either. Do not must class if you can help it because the lecturing is imparative to understanding the text book. He gives easy ways to compute things too. Does not let class out early at all.

This guy is the quirkiest, weirdest, most textbook math nerd in the world. He LOVES math. If you pay attention in class, he is a fantastic teacher. He gives you the exact material that will be on a test before tests too so its super easy as long as you study. He has absolutely horrid handwriting though, and you will NOT get out of class early.

I will advise u he does take role 2 time at the very beginning and like literally 20 seonds till it ends u will be spending every sec in class. If u have a freind taking the class be careful casue i did and he accused us of cheating and took away half of our grade and we faught for it and even had to take it up with dean so be careful.

Enthusiastic, sweet, and does NOT pick on you. Zero class participation. He is very thorough, times his lectures to the minute, and expects you to memorize things over night. Next to impossible if you work full time or have other hard classes, but a GREAT teacher. Worth it if you don't remember algebra from high school!!

The best math teacher I've had. He goes over the problems several times until you understand it. He gives all students a chance to improve their quiz scores by challenging it during the tests. He's a great teacher for someone who has trouble in Algebra.

I went into his class despising math, I didn't understand it to save my life; He taught me math in a way that it is now one of my FAV. subjects. He's a brilliant professor. BEAUTIFUL teaching skills. Mr. B is wonderful! I am an algebra-phobic and had to take this as a pre-req. He made it accessible, interesting and, almost, fun. He is a warm, conscientious guy with an offbeat sense of humor and infinite patience. I took a summer algebra class - I wouldn't suggest the 5 hour a day regime to anyone, but he made it more than tolerable.

I hate/suck at math, but he made it crystal clear and easy!lots of hw (hw is helpful) collected once a week (have a week to do it) tests are easy, lets you challenge quizzes, lets you challenge failed tests on final. basically gives you the opportunity to correct ur mistakes! take him! if you dont..u dont know what ur missing

He's amazing & very helpful!! If you're struggling, speak to him during office hours; trust me, it pays off. He let's you challenge your quizess & a test on your final (that saved my life). I took Professor B in summer school (6/2011). HE IS WONDERFUL!! for someone like myself who truly struggles with math he is the key to understanding!!! He explains until things are very clear! He is the best math professor I've ever had. Yes he tells corny jokes but I can appreciate that he's trying to lighten up the sleepy mode math puts you in.

Easiest computer science professor! I took CS 1 with Hyman at first, and dropped it because it was too hard. Then I decided to take it with Broderick and he was so much easier and more clear! He teaches you how the computer works when you type a certain code, which helped me better understand programming, while Hyman just showed us through laptop.

I never cared for math before his class. At the beginning of the semester I was struggling (due to laziness) but I met up with him during office hours, got more involved during lecture and paid more attention. Math started to make sense. He really knows his stuff and thanks to him I absolutely love math now! (Even word problems).

Funny teacher and laidback. He does give out a lot of quizzes, but he provides you with a study guide to use before any quiz and tests. He definitely is the type of teacher that is willing to help you out. He seems to care about whether his students are passing his class. Definitely recommend him.

Very GOOD teacher. My favorite math teacher of all time. He is extremely passionate about math. Like any other math class, as long as you attend you will pass. A lot of homework, but every math class has HW. VERY CLEAR in his teaching, gives chance to fix your grades, and has a sense of humor. He likes telling story, which makes the class FUN.

Really organized class: 3 quizzes, 3 tests, and 1 cumulative final. There's also homework and 6 programming projects. Pretty clear cut. Attend lab and lecture!

You really earn your grade I would go to the tutoring center for the majority of the course, and to Broderick's office hours. I really created a bond with him during his office hours. I highly recommend his class. Showing up to his class, studying the book and taking good notes will help. If you do not do good in a test you can challenge it.

Warning - Professor Broderick's handouts are handwritten, and he's left handed. He expects you to memorize all the vocabulary. I always get good grades on programs, but Cs and Ds on the tests. His class is so hard. I've worked really hard and I don't know if I'm gonna pass. I wouldn't recommend him.

Professor Broderick is a very nice man. he's very willing to help and very patient. but his class is HARD!! I even asked every CS major student I know, they told me some of the material he covers are for CS 2 students. So I'd say if you've already had some basic knowledge of CS you should take him, if not then don't.

Mr. Broderick is a wonderful teacher, one of the best at El Camino. He truly cares about the subject and helping you understand. He is extremely patient and answers all of your questions. He has a few stories to tell which are funny but for the most part remains on topic. Math is never easy but he makes it doable. Take!

He's hilarious the way your grandfather would be hilarious, he is very clear about the math and even when he's not, he explains things very well, he is so passionate about math, and probably the best part, he knows what he's talking about. He's absolutely passionate about math, and you can really see it in his energy when he covers lessons. He explains everything quite clearly, but if you're confused, he's very much available. Sometimes, he'd tell stories, whether it be about himself or something else; I always enjoyed listening to them. He's also pretty funny. And do the homework!

Professor Broderick is the only math professor I've ever liked at El Camino. Math is not my strongest subject, like at all, and came into the class feeling I was going to fail. But he explains the content thoroughly and is always willing to help students. He is an exemplary professor, TAKE HIM!

Do the work and you will pass the class. I just finished a 6-week summer class with Mr.B and he is definitely the best math teacher I've had. Being an international student with English as a second language, failed math in high school and now I got an A! He explains everything in depth so you don't want to miss class. suuuuper! good luck :)

Mr B is extremely kind and he goes into great detail in his lectures, so everyone can understand the lectures. you can be late to class, all you have to do is make sure you sign that roll sheet!!! he's a greaaaat teacher!! i learned new stuff that my old math teachers neeever taught me well enough. overall, he's the best! take him!

Taking him for Fall '17 and highly recommend him. I'm TERRIBLE at math and never do well on tests until this class. His lectures are clear and he's really nice and willing to answer any questions you have. Make sure you DO THE HOMEWORK!!! IT HELPS!!! And if they have it, attend SI on test days!! I am terrible at math and I failed this course once before but he goes over everything with extreme detail. He's nice and all but assigns so much homework. The homework actually pays off because it helps to understand the material more. It's weird because i hate math but i actually wish he taught all my math classes.

If you're not good at math I recommend you take your class with him! He explains everything in detail! And he always has time to help you before class or after. His tests are easy, just study and he gives you a study guide. He does give a lot of homework, but it's to help you out! You're in college now, remember that!

By far the best math teacher ever. He isn't boring and all the notes you take are helpful for HW and upcoming test and quizzes. If you do bad on a quiz he lets you challenge it on the same day as chapter test. He also lets you challenge chapter tests on the final which are just 3 pages (25 ques). you cant eat in his class and make sure to buy book

"Mr. B" is one of my favorite professors so far. His lectures are long but everything is laid out for you. You know what is expected and he is EXTREMELY fair. He gives opportunities to "prove yourself" on upcoming tests/exams and will grade accordingly. He wants you to succeed and is never condescending. Put in the work and you'll do fine.

Mr.B is an awesome teacher, hes hilarious and his teaching makes a 2hour and 30min. Class not feel like forever.. I saw comments about homework and i would disagree.. maybe he changed the hw sheet but definitely doable and his notes are great didnt feel myself struggling.. one of the best math professors Ive ever had I actual understand math

Lectures are long and tedious but are related to hw he assigns and some examples from the TextB. He also gives our a lot of hw but the tests are not too difficult since he usually omits 1-2 based on how people did and lets you challenge only 1 of your worst exam grades. There will be a TON of homework that is unavoidable. But the homework does help you keep up with the class and prepares you for the test so it is definitely mandatory. He loves physics and goes on inspirational tangents sometimes. He explains everything clearly and reviews homework to resolve confusion. I highly recommend for first time calc!

Prof. Broderick was one of the best math profs I've had. Calc is a hard subject but he goes through every single step in detail. He never makes you feel bad for having questions and will answer anything. Lots of homework but they are great prep for his tests. His tests are exactly what you would expect and he doesn't try to trick or confuse you.

I got a B and was so upset at musk for small errors so many times, but this man was so inspiring and kind I still think of his lectures fondly. If you are a hard worker you will do very well.

He is one of my best professors I have ever met. When I was struggling with my homework, I went office hours and he explained so well with patience. But, you will need to do several homework. As long as you are convenient with his lecture notes, it is an easy A. Highly recommended for students who want to have better understanding of mathematics.
