Awesome teacher, wants to help you get an A. Helps with questions on anything and gives you time for in class homework. Makes learning logic fun! A lot better than math
Great teacher, take him if you can.
He is an absolutly awesome teacher! He really wants you to get a good grade in the class, he has tons of outside of class time to help you out, he makes everything very clear, and will always go over something in class if you don't get it. You should most defineitly take this course with him. It even fills a math requirement!
He's a great teacher!! He always wants to help you to make sure you understand what he's teaching. Take him if you can.

He is the best teacher I have come across at Century!! He is everything that a teacher should be. And the learning enviroment is way relaxed & is the least stressful of any of my classes. I was dreading this class, but now I love it. Yeah he's the best... Take his class.
His is by far the best teacher I've ever had at Century. He made learning logic fun, a very hard feat. I had no interest in logic before taking this class and by the end I found myslelf doing extra logic problems just FOR FUN (nerd alert!). He had all the qualities of a great professor, I would highly recommend him.
he is a great Logic teacher. One thing I really liked about him was that he was always there for a student when they didn't understand something. his class was challenging but very fun. I also had him for Ethics he really knows his stuff!
He is the best prof. I have had so far. Def. take this course or any offered by him.
This professor was the best I have ever had. If you work hard and ask questions he will be more than willing to help. He is great at what he does! I wish I had him for more classes!!!
LOGIC EVEN TURNED OUT TO BE FUN!! CHUNG IS A GREAT TEACHER AND THIS FULFILLS THE MATH REQS.
AWESOME TEACHER!!! He is sooo helpful, and sincerely cares about all of his students well being. I would take his class again in a heartbeat!
Helpful very understadning and willing to work with you as long as you put the time in! Don't be a slacker and you will do just fine!
Awesome teacher! Will do anything in his power to make sure you succeed! I had no interest in math/logic and loved propositional logic!
Carl Chung is a master educator.
Great teacher. Has that rare enthusiasm that helps drive students to success. He's willing to bump your final grade up as long as you show a real desire to succeed. Got an A in a class that's notoriously one of the most difficult at Century, no doubt in part to his teaching capabilities.
Like others have stated, he's an excellent teacher. He's clear and precise, he knows his material, and he tries to be light hearted and funny. If you want to succeed in his class, I have no doubt that you will, and he will help you however he is able
Chung one of the many gems that you will find at Century. Great personality. This is a difficult class that requires work. Chung will make sure that you do well if you give him the effort. GREAT TEACHER
Excellent teacher- clearly explained everything... almost too much sometimes. Tests were relatively easy. Very approachable. One of my favorite teachers at Century!
Easily the best teacher I have ever had. Take every class possible with him. He makes everything interesting and is beyond helpful and clear.
This guy rocks. One of the best teachers I've ever had the privelege to learn from. That's all there is to say.
amazingly refreshing! This guy cares and it shows!!! If you want an A you can absolutely earn it- Chung has a seemingly limitless amount of time and patience to help you achieve a good grade! If you are confused ASK HIM FOR HElP!
CHUNG IS AMAZING! I loved him! Easily the best teacher Ive EVER had! He will go way out of his way to help you! Is very patient and easy to talk to.
very good and talkative teacher. one of my favorite. if you come to class and take note understand the structure it should be an easy A. long homework only worth 10 pts. 3 tests. you can get up to 10 extra on tests and 5 at then end of classes. very flexible with help.. great teacher.
Awesome instructor. To pass the class (& do well) you need the notes, therefore it's really important to attend, although it's not mandatory to him. Lots of notes let me tell you. He asks you to read the book, but you don't have to cause 1. the notes are enough IMO, 2. the tests are open book and open notes. You'll have to write a paper or two.
Great teacher; one of the true gems of Century. He was my first teacher since coming off a few-year hiatus and I don't think I could've picked a better teacher. He made one of the most notoriously difficult subjects at Century, Logic, comprehensible and was instrumental in helping me get an A in the class. A must for Logic if not Philosophy overall
Great teacher! Really fun and entertaining. Some of the subject matter is confusing but he does a great job of explaining it! He really seems to enjoy teaching.
Wonderful teacher, really seems to enjoy being there. Made class a blast! Some of the content was confusing but he did a good job of making it clear. Attending class makes exams easier.
I took intro to western philosophy with Mr. Chung. He is an amazing teacher! Philosophy is a not-so-fun subject at times, but being in class with Mr. Chung was fun, and he understood where his students were coming from, and could help explain things. If you have to take philosophy, choose this teacher!
I took Carl's Intro Logic class and the material became difficult the last 4weeks of class, but he's one of the most accommodating instructors at Century so he eased the pain.Take his Saturday class if you can:SMALL class size=plenty of 1on1help.He has his ways to make tests easier.Actually a fun subject once you understand how the "puzzle" works!
very funny and helpful. explains everything crystal clear. subjects are hard but you get a lot of help from him. tests are semi hard but you'll be able to pass as long as you do all the homework and study study!
best teacher in the world!!! gives student alot of opportunities to bring up their grades. he is so helpful and always make sure students understand each assignments. he makes logic fun and easy. don't be scared of taking logic, he'll help you through every question.
Chung is the BEST teacher ever. He really wants his students to succeed and does everything he can to help make everyone understand. He's extremely approachable. He makes classes fun and engaging. I was dreading Philosophy classes, but out of 5 classes this semester, this class became my favorite. I'd go out of my way to take his classes again.
A GREAT professor he gives his all. In order for the student to understand the material. He has extra classes for those who need extra help he helps with homework problems so he doesn't let you strugle all by yourself. Although if you do not show up to class then you will have a very difficult time. We were always learning something new everyday.
Show up to class, pay attention, do your homework and you'll do just fine in this class.
He is a great teacher! very helpful and easy going. attendance isn't mandatory but if you skip or get sick it is a hard class to catch up in cause there is so much information to learn. VERY fun i would recommend to anyone.
Great class, great teacher. Make sure that you show up to class and take notes, if you do that you'll do good. He has 2 open note tests and you need those notes. He is the nicest and most helpful teacher that I have had at Century. Go out of your way to take this class from him, you'll be glad you did.
He is great! Use his office hours, I had him for 2 classes and it was great. He is there to help you and he wants you to pass. He makes class fun and a better way to look at life. We had many talks in his office hours about random things about Philosophy. He is very smart and great teacher to talk to
Very approachable asset for Century College for sure. one of the best hands down
Carl is one of the nicest guys at the school. He is really smart, funny, and makes the material fun to learn! If your one of the people that skips class alot DONT take logic, u will fail. But if you go everyday like i did, its super easy and frankly, quite enjoyable
Amazing person and teacher! Seriously, I don't need to say any more than that, but I will. This guy will bend over backwards to help you understand a concept. I had him for Logic and he managed to make it interesting.
Awesome teacher. Very approachable and he's crystal clear. I'd recommend his classes, most def!
Carl rocks. He is the best professor I have had in college. Class is interesting, fun, and humorous. He makes learning fun and interesting and is clear about homework assignments. Take classes from him!
He's by far the best professor I've had at Century. You won't regret taking his class.
The best teacher at Century College! He is very clear on what he expects from a student, very understanding of personal issues which you may have and very accessible.
I agree with everyone else that Mr. Chung is so far the best teacher I had at Century. He is understanding. Class are fun and super easy. I wish he teaches every classes.
Carl Chung is an amazing instructor! I learned so much in his course! To earn the best grade you need to take LOTS of notes (basically everything he writes) and read the case studies from the book. There are 2 tests (mid way and the rest)and a final 5-7 page essay. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM! (: you're really going to enjoy his course!
Very interesting class, and such a great alternitive to math. Chung was amazingly smart, and taught this class in an understandable way. My favorite class at century and one of my favorite teachers!!! if you need a math class take this one!!!!!! homework isnt bad, and neither are tests!
Excellent, caring, compassionateprofessor. He cares about the student.Would highly recommend taking him. He is the Best!Engages the class. If you are there taking notes and read the books you will do well in the class. He gives you guidelines to follow for papers. TOP_NOTCH
Top Notch Professor. He is by far the best instructor I have taken at Century. Cares about students and knows each student my name. I am so impressed. Engages class and makes you want to be there every class time. If you are there taking notes and reading you will do well. He needs a raise; at least an universal recognition for making a difference.
Top-Notch professor. By far the best instructor at Century. Carl engages his students and actually knows you name. He is an intelligent person and presents material to your level. I would highly, highly recommend this course. You will enjoy yourself, Carl is very entertaining too.
Excellent professor. Really cares about his students. I give him an A+. You will not regret taking him.
Very fun class. Carl makes his students enjoy coming to lecture. Very helpful outside of class and wants his students to succeed. Enjoy your class with him, not to many teachers are similar to him, awesome teacher!!!!
only read 4 pages of reviews and agree with every one! Carl is a gifted teacher;tempted to take more philosophy classes just to take from him - he makes the learning interesting and he is SO knowledgeable!!! Easy teaching style - you will feel comfortable. Good, good, good teacher.... you will be glad you took his class(es).
It is not that he is an easy teacher, rather that he helps the students understand complex ideas and makes them "unpack" the words and ideas. One of the best at Century.
one of the best professor at century... very well prepared in coming to class, good sense of humor, very helpful, approachable...definitely choose him
There is a reason EVERY class he teaches is already full and CLOSED. He's the best - bar none. Logic was difficult for me, Carl did everything he could to help. He does this for EVERYONE. Amazing..take him for ANY PHIL class!
Carl Chung is one of the best instructors I have had. He is always prepared, grades quickly and fairly, is incredibly helpful and always excited about what he is speaking about. Take his classes if you get a chance!
Carl is an awesome professor. He is very prepared, wants you to understand and to think about the information provided and engages your thoughts in the class lecture. Definitely a professor you should take if you can get one of his classes. You should attend classes because most of the test material comes from notes.
He is one of the best teachers at Century. He truly wants you to succeed in his class and go the extra mile to help you. Definitely take him. He is always prepared and understanding of your circumstances.
Great professor, very helpful
Material is somewhat difficult but Mr. Chung does everything he can to help you. Awesome teacher! He goes the extra mile to help students to succeed. I'm not that great at logic but he is doing everything he can to assist and is good with his students. Century needs more teachers like Mr. Chung.
Class is optional, but if you fall behind its hard to catch up. Carl is an amazing professor and give plenty of opportunities for everyone to get credit on assignments and extra credit to help with the grades. I am glad I took the class and I definitely recommend him to everyone!
Good teacher, good class. Class is lecture style with discussions here and there. Tests are open notes. Papers are easy to write. The lectures and discussions really make you think about philosophy.
he really want to build close bond with students. super cool compared to other prof's and really friendly. there are exams each month, all which are open notes so u have to make sure u have EVERY note. BEST prof so far. however i think textbooks are unecessary.
I love Prof. Chung! He made logic fun and easy to understand. If you are going to take this class, don't plan on missing any, if you do it is hard to catch up. But he is great to meet with outside of class and is very approachable. I would take another class with him!
Such an awesome teacher! He is very knowlegable and passionate about his subject. He explains things very well, using a lot examples. He also makes sure you are ready for the exams. Would love to take another class with him!
Chung is the best teacher you can get for Logic. I would take him for any class. Crystal clear on what he expects. Pretty lax attendance policy (you don't have to show up, but if you don't, you will not really understand anything.) He is the most helpful teacher I've worked with in my life, and makes an effort for his WHOLE class, not favorites.
Easiest class I have ever taken. Mr.Chung lectures and writes notes on the board all hour. The test questions come directly out of the notes, which you can use on the test. There are two textbooks for the class, but it isn't necessary to read them. Attendance is not mandatory, but you can easily get behind in the notes if you skip. He's a nice guy.
Professor Chung is easily one of the best teachers at century. He explains concepts and has an open and friendly manner. There are two test a midterm and a final and on both you can use your notes so take good notes!!! There is also a 3-5 pg paper due but this easiest hardest class you'll ever take.
Carl is no afraid to adjust his teaching methods so that the material is covered while being able to spend time on interesting topics.
Carl is such a great teacher! I love that he always adjusts how he is teaching to best benefit everyone who is leaning. He is also great at filling up the whole hour with information while still leaving time in class to give each student individual help. He teaches every concept very thoroughly. I love all his stories, and his liveliness.
Chung is the most reasonable professor I've had. He understands that it is the students who pay him. Sometimes, he can be a little *too* reasonable, taking time trying to please everyone, but it's ok. He usually accepts late work and his teaching style really lets you think for yourself and absorb important ideas. He offers career counseling too!
I took both Western and Eastern Philosophy with Carl and I have to say, he is a fantastic teacher. Probably my favorite teacher out of both post-secondary school I've attended. He is easy to talk to and very understanding, he is more than willing to help students, and as long as you take good notes and at least skim the book you will do great.
One of the best teachers at Century. Good integrity and good hearted. If all we had more teachers like him I would love being in college.
Carl is the man; plain and simple. i went to a 4 year university before taking classes at century and Carl is still probably the best teacher I have had thus far. Really allows you to think for yourself rather than just copying from a textbook. Tests were open-book and open-note, and he will accept late assignments with little to no consequences.
I took PHIL 1021 with him and later PHIL 1031 because I liked him so much. He's very personable and approachable. (There's a reason he's rated so highly on here!) -- He gives open-notes, open-book, and two-day exams that are very easy. His classes will get you an easy A.
Mr. Chung is my favorite teacher. He really knows his material and he tries to adapt to learning styles that best fit his students in the class. His willingness to help is awesome, he is also a very funny guy too. If all professors were like him, I would LOVE college!
Carl's philosophy classes are some of the best that I took at Century. Deadlines and requirements are all fairly loose, but it doesn't hurt the course at all. He's always willing to take time to make sure that you can get an A in his class, and he explains things really clearly. He also has a very personable sense of humor and is just pleasant.
Great instructor! He wants what's best for the students, he's open to comments and suggestions. Grades easily and he's very approachable, not like other instructors who make it seem as if they're annoyed when you ask a question. Very nice person and always chipper. I highly recommend this instructor.
Mr. Chung is EASILY my favorite college professor I have ever had. In his class we rarely had homework and had review days before each exam (there were only 2 of them!) He did take attendance but showing up to class got you easy participation points which up-ed your grade.
Took Intro to Western Philosophy with him. Easily my favorite professor of all time. Tests were open note and book and class was fun to go to. Show up to class and you'll get an A.
He can adjust himself at your pace, especially if you want to try to avoid group work for a day or so. Deadlines are pretty clear and you're given about 2 weeks to turn in some stuff.
Nothing but the best! He was very subtle about everything. Soft and kind professor. Definitely taking another one of his classes.
If you're in any class except his Logic class, he is much more easy going an willing to have fun during class time. Many small group activities, but they were fun and didn't take the whole time. There is a lot of note taking!!!!
LOVE HIS CLASS! You take a lot of notes, but they are really helpful. I would take one of his classes again if I get the chance. I recommend taking his class if you can! Since there are a lot of notes to take, make sure you have a way of getting them if you miss a day, but showing up to class is super beneficial for tests.
By far the best teacher here at Century. He helped me so much on my homework. I had him for two classes. All he cares about is helping students and bringing out their full potential! GREAT GUY!
AMAZING TEACHER! By far my favorite teacher! Actually cares for the success of his students! Very approachable and easy going. If you want to pass with an A you MUST attend class. He can only do so much for you if you don't show up... obviously. I recommend it to everyone if you don't want to take a math course!
MOST AMAZING TEACHER EVER! Take him!! He's super nice, patient, interesting, and will help if needed. He makes class fun and lets you work with other students. He also allows a cheat sheet for the exams. Also gives out extra credit opportunities. Homework can be turned late with full credits.
BEST TEACHER EVER, HELPS SO MUCH if you don't understand. ...I also had him for ethics and he saved my semester.
In all honesty, the best professor you will ever have at a community college. Want to take Philosophy with a different professor other than Carl? Good luck. Carl is as great a it gets.
Carl is a professor that want to help you succeed. He has been nothing but gracious and kind to me. His Logic class is challenging, but rewarding. You should never skip his class, and always attend his "logic lab"to get your best possible grade in this class.
Took his Intro to Logic about four years ago. He is phenomenal. He knows how to make a complicated subject easy and fun. He is a very understanding professor. Love his note card cheat sheets for exams. Go Professor Chung! I wish you teach every subject, ey? Hint, hint, lol. Team Carl Chung!
Best class you'll take
I LOVED THIS CLASS! Carl is one of the best profs I've had at Century. He is such a great teacher. He was very open minded, respected students opinions, and would always help you if you have a question. The lectures were very interesting and he was great at explaining everything! Take this class, you won't regret it!!
I took his Intro to Western Philosophy class. Carl teaches with much enthusiasm and goes into detail with the reading materials. He clarifies the readings with summary notes. He gives you great feedback on papers and writing assignments. The tests are pretty easy. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and I'd take a class again if I could!
Into to Logic is extremely interesting. At first I was intimidated but as Carl began walking his class through what we were about to learn it became less frightening. He takes the time to explain the material and goes over it in class. There is an amazing tutor who is just as helpful. Put forth the effort and you will pass. extra credit is offered.
Took Logic to replace Math and was uneasy going into Logic but Carl is one amazing teacher! He is hilarious and makes Logic so easy. He is always helping students and always willing to help outside of class. He makes the class fun and interesting. Super easy if you go to class and take note. Would definitely recommend his class!
Professor was above and beyond amazing took multiple hours to clarify and explain before class and after class and set up a separate study group if needed a lot of PAs also to help give extra credit in a really broke it down to help clarify and make it a passable class
Carl is a great professor. I have always wanted to try a logic class and he made it really easy. He is always willing to help you out if you need it and he normally has at least one tutor who is also willing to help. If you aren't great at math and want to take logic, take it will Carl.
The materials taught in class were useful and very organized which made it easy to refer to. The course included adequate theory and background. Assignments that were given for this course interested me to be involved in the discussions. Overall, I would recommend this course to others.
Awesome class, I would definitely take it again. Very helpful instructor and wants you to understand it. If you want to pass the class you should take advantage of the lab time, It really helps... And I suggest you not to skip a class day, you might be missing a lot for one day, but Carl usually puts up what the class did for that day on D2L.
Carl Chung is the by far the best professor I have taken. I have had 2 classes with him before and if there are any more classes I need that he teaches, he'll be my #1 pick always! He is a great person overall and is truly amazing 3
Best professor I have ever had hands down. There is an unlimited amount of extra credit, literally, he allows you to make up your own extra credit assignments. you cannot fail this class if you try. He is the most understanding professor I have had too, understands that sometimes you will be late or have work.
Amazing to work with. Takes time to clarify. Sets aside time for tutoring in both group and individual settings. He actually cares and breaks things down in an explainable way while creating a fun open environment. I would and have recommended friends to take his class. Above excellent
I will recommend this course and professor to anyone. He cares for his students and wants everyone to succeed. He takes late work with no penalties and lets you use your notes on the tests. but make sure to show up for class because you will miss the notes which are very important.
Great teacher. Generally cares about his students. Tough class and make sure to ask questions. He makes plenty of time to answer individual questions and doesnt really care about when you turn in homework.
He is a good teacher and cares about his students. But don't think you go come class every once and a while , and pass his class. You will not Pass . Come to class you will pass you make the effort and he will help you
I love carl!!!! He truly cares about you doing well in his class. You can use notecards on the tests and hes always willing to answer questions and help on hw. Logics was my favorite class this semester.
I had Carl for Bio ethics and hes a wonderful teacher!
Great professor, explains things clearly. Would take another class with him.
Carl Chung is an amazing teacher. I thought this class would be hard, but the way he presented the information was so easy to understand and follow- and he's funny. His class is lecture-heavy and you do take a lot of notes (which I liked). He's personable and answers your questions thoroughly. I definitely would take more classes under him!
This was a Logic class. He was great. I am not good at Math and so this class was sort of a revelation to me... I got an A! You for sure need to attend class or you will quickly lose your way. But he is super supportive as long as your making the effort and he makes sure to have tutors available in and out side of class. I liked it a lot!
I loved this class, and the topics. Dr. Chung is really laid back, and he has a packet for the notes which you can use on the exams. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
Ethics - This instructor really does care about what he is teaching, and you can tell that he wants his students to understand what he is teaching. Show up for class, follow notes, and you will pass.
Carl Chung, I wish there were more instructors like him. Explaining the subject of propositional logic in a lucid, easy to understand fashion is what this man does best. Although the subject material is well worn in to his many years of experience, he has not forgotten how to teach it to people like me who have never before seen the material.
I have him for Ethics, and will have him for logic. Overall I think he's a great teacher. He grades easy on the group projects, and always give good feed back to questions. Sometimes I think he talks a bit too much :P Because I had good attendance, and did well on group projects. He was, and I quote "inclined to ignore" that my paper was late :D
This course was very clear and concise. His grading style is easy to understand. He is very helpful and will always do his best to explain things. Just attend the class lectures, do the work and you'll get the right grade.
Carl was a great teacher. He makes me very interested in philosophy and makes all points valid. Up for debate on topics and makes everything understandable.
Super caring and cared more about having you learn than due dates and grades
Carl Chung taught my section of Introduction to Western Philosophy with real passion. The class was not very difficult, but this was also my first Philosophy class and the one that inspired me to become a Philosophy major.
This class is taught as an alternative to traditional mathematics requirements, and that can make this class difficult for people who really can't do symbolic math. Carl Chung is the best resource that I have seen for learning this material, first of all, and getting students through his course. He is seemingly always available for questions.
This class is amazing. The readings are mostly optional, but you had better be ready to pay attention to the lectures. The ideas can be difficult, which is why participation is important. Carl Chung is a really good lecturer and guide to understanding the Dao. If you can write essays to prove you were paying attention, take this class.
Wonderful man and professor. He cares about his students experience and outcome. He strives for your understanding and success. He gives quick and detailed feedback. Carl makes himself very available and is easy to approach. He will help in any way he can. Workload light. His tests are manageable. I loved his class and would highly recommend him
Carl is a really good professor to take philosophy with. Although, he will tell you himself this class is the hardest one he teaches. He gives great feedback and is super relaxed on due dates and helping you make things up from missed classes. He gives you printed out notes with blanks to fill in, be prepared to write and listen the entire class.
Carl Chung is the best professor Ive had thus far. I took his biomedical ethics class and it was amazing. The content was good and he makes sure you answer all questions and make sure you get it. He cares about his students and will work with you to make sure you do well. Though subjects but the assignments and tests are never too hard.
Cool Calm and Collected dude. He's very willing to help you understand anything you don't quite have a grasp on yet. Just ask questions and he'll be happy to help! Very clear grading criteria. Note taking is actually kinda fun in his class and discussions can get really interesting (and funny)! A MUST TAKE PROFESSOR!
I would take class with this professor again
I cant say enough good things about Carl! I've recommended friends to him since taking this class and everyone loves him! If you're willing to put in the effort, he will too. He really cares about the success of his students, makes his lectures really interesting, and gives great feedback. Logic was harder (as expected) but he made it manageable.
Carl is one of the best professors at Century. Nothing ever seems to bother him. Focuses on teaching. Isnt a nit picky teacher. Show up to class, take notes, do the in class assignments, and use your notes and book on his exmas and youll get a good grade. He genuinely seems to want people to pass and has a very straightforward class.
1. Easy assignments 2. Multiple choice exams with OPEN NOTES! and a take home paper (Easy) 3. Gives good feed backs, and gives clear and concise instructions Still I don't know why I got a C- LOL I know I did slack off just the fact that he was easy. Probably why.
Carl is an AMAZING professor. He gives you every tool and opportunity to pass his class. The material is hard and difficult to learn but he makes himself more than available to help his students. He gives extra credit opportunities and will teach you in a way that you can understand the concept. I would take this class again! Carl is the man!
I took this class in the summer and I really enjoyed it! Carl is outstanding, and made learning the material interesting and fun. He goes over everything you need to know and writes it down with you on the screen as you are writing so that you don't miss anything!
Carl is one of the caring professor I ever met. He is willing to help explain thing if you are stuck or lost. He provide extra credit if you did poorly on an exam or assignment. I would recommend to do the extra credit to bump your grade up.
Carl truly wants his students to succeed and is amazing at teaching, communication, and answering any questions you have (hes also quick to email back)! if you're scared of number-filled math take his class! Century needs more professors like him, hes the most caring and understanding professor out there!
Good prof.
Absolutely loved Carl and will be continuing to take his classes at century! Awesome guy, very easy to talk to! I recommend him to everybody.
Carl is very nice and he gives great feedback on writing assignments we do every 2-3 weeks. In my opinion, I thought he was a little tough on grading but not too hard. We have discussion posts every week and it was easy. We have 2 exams and it consists of short answers and multiple choice. Overall, I recommend taking him!
Great professor! So fun to talk with and learn from. This topic was super heavy and hard to talk about but he made it relatable. Would definitely take from again..... Will stay in contact with this professor, he is awesome!
Carl Chung is by far one of the best professors that I've ever had. He is extremely patient and takes time to work with you if you're unclear about something.
I have read many reviews of Chung being a great professor. I have experienced him not being so great. First, he was very busy with other students whenever I asked for extra help on assignments. Secondly, The wording he chose for his test is confusing too, Lastly, I don't think he gives people the benefit of the doubt. I wish I could explain more!
My favorite professor I've ever had. Really just a wonderful human being. One of the first things he said about his Intro to Eastern Philosophy class was that it's the hardest class he teaches. It was somewhat tough i guess, but not in the way a English or Math class is tough, it required a lot of deep thinking about the content, which I enjoyed.
This is by far the best class Ive taken at century. Hes not very focused on grammar on essays hes more focused on reaching the points and following the rubric. He makes every discussion interesting. Tells you exactly what you need to read to pass the quizzes every class is mandatory and is an easy portion of your grades.
He's a really hands on teacher. Used a great system for feedback in an online environment. Helped with any topic you were struggling with. It felt like he wanted his students to be successful which is really nice.
This is the easiest class I've ever had at Century. In order to pass this class, all you really have to do is take notes, so buy the note packets. Professor Carl Chung's tests are opened book and all of the questions are from the notes. His essays aren't really that hard too. All you have to do is just answer the questions with the correct answer.
I took Ethics with Carl Chung. Probably the nicest, well-mannered and well-spoken professor I've ever had. Some reading but not an awful lot at all, as I'm not a big reader myself. Assignments, quizzes and tests are all straight forward/from the lecture. Just show up, listen, engage and take notes and this will be an easy pass.
This professor is a real gem. Honestly, all you really have to do to pass his class is watch his lecture videos and take notes. Make sure to buy the note packets and not the textbook. Questions in the exam will only be from the notes. There will be 3 short essays and 2 big essays that come along with the 2 exams in his class. Goodluck!
They are only 2 exams. They are a lot of discussion posts with a couple short writing assignments.
Overall a great professor! He gives great feedback, his lessons are easy to follow, and he seems like a pretty cool guy. If youre worried that you cant do math type subjects, take logic with Carl, he breaks it down nicely and makes it easy.
most lenient and therefor understanding professor teacher ive ever had exams are to be done on certain days online, i forgot about the exam till about a week later, was able to do it late and he apologized for taking like 3 days to grade the exam. and my homeworks were 1 month out of schedule late.
great grader. understanding of conflicts. great lectures. easy to understand. fast email responder
He is one of the most knowledgeable lecturers I've ever had. May God continue to bless him.
The work is do-able and really organized by the professor, and the work/grade you get is really up to you with your efforts. This class definitely got harder when we got more to complex areas of E.P. General, this is what a professor should be. He's extremely up to date with gradings, announcements, organized, and changes of schedule.
Professor Chung is one of the best professors I've had. The material was easy to follow and well-organized. The curriculum felt like it intentionally taught material you could absorb rather than learning how to study to pass a standardized test. I feel like I could actively apply this knowledge in real life. 10/10 recommend.
Best professor I have had. Very easy and accommodating. If you need to take Phil 1035, sign up for Mr. Chung.
Professor Chung was definitely the best teacher I've had during my time at century college; he has a lot of flexibility in turning in homework assignments and doing exams, and he put in a lot of effort to make the content easy to understand, overall he was an extremely kind and understanding professor, I would for sure recommend you take his class!
Best professor I have ever had. Always gave help, answered questions clearly, and was very understanding. Lectures are easy to follow and class material makes it very easy to understand concepts. Gives visual examples and even explains how and why certain rules work. 100/10.
This prof was the best I had, he's so helpful and caring and really wants everyone to pass the class. I legit failed every exam and still passed with a B
You Should take Professor Chung! He is very accommodating and truly wants all his students to succeed. His last test was a little more difficult than the others, but he also does offer extra credit at the end of the course. Great Professor
Professor Chung's class is well-organized and engaging. While the material can be challenging at times, using Unstuck study and the provided note packets makes studying a breeze. Definitely recommend taking this course.
Biomedical Ethics with professor Chung this semester went very smoothly. He provides good feedback and provides a variety of resources to learn the material each week. Every week you have a discussion post, two tests in the semester, and three writing assignments. Overall, it's a nicely structured course.
I took this course online asynch. Clear with deadlines but gives you tons of time to do homework. Responds right away by having you use a Google Doc to complete your work. He would monitor your progress and leave super clear, simple feedback and instructions. Lectures were clear. Hard to fail if you do the work and practice for exams.
I took his late-start/accelerated class which I don't recommend since hw piles up fast. Each week had 5-12 videos on how to solve the problems. It's helpful but a lot of work. He's lenient & lets you work at your own pace. I didn't finish all my hw & did poorly on the last test, but he let me complete it later instead of failing me. Great professor
Awesome teacher. Really took the time to help me throughout the lessons.
Professor Chung is a great teacher. He provides context notes for his course, so I wish I hadn't gotten the textbook. He gives awesome feedback. I felt that he was a tough grade because I never got a perfect score. Maybe as an ethics teacher, he might believe that nothing is "perfect", lol. His class is easy and straightforward.
I took Professor Chung's online logic course. Although logic is often considered to be a complicated subject, he always found ways to make it relevant to students' lives and gave helpful feedback on both the homework and the exams. It is very clear that he genuinely cares about students and what he teaches.
He's a good professor overall. I took Logics online which was difficult for me ,and his videos were not always super helpful. He offered extra credit on the first 2 exams and allows for you to fix your mistakes on homework to get your grade up. It's a tricky course, but he was a helpful professor overall.
