GREAT PROFESSOR! Very knowledgable, and you can truly sense he loves his subject. I do warn you, the class itself is not very easy....a lot of material, and the tests are all essay type. However, you do learn. Very helpful and understanding. Funny, too.

Great instructor. But I do warn you, if you procrastinate studying it will kill your grade due to the many essays on tests. There are 3 parts to his tests, few maching, short essay and full essays. I would say about 13 failed of about 30.

Nice guy, very helpful and clear. Take notes!!! Uses his own notes. Also group work on certain topics which will be asked on test. Test are short answer, essay and little multiple choice. Study! Knows a lot about history and wants you to enjoy learn it.

Carl is fun. Wants you to learn. Is opinionated, but listens to students. Really cares about students and cuts a break for people who have issues. But can be a hard nose about sticky details. Fun and funny, but demands work outside of class. Tests are fair, but make sure you know your stuff.

Creasman is awesome!!! He gets to know his students and is willing to spend extra time to make sure every student understands the material. He makes his class a fun environment. I enjoyed going...and it started at 8am! Do the work, study the material, and go to class...you'll get an A!

Creasman is the shiznit! Most history teachers are names and dates, but not him. He teaches mainly from a large folder of notes, but expects lots of reading and writing. (Gordon rule class, duh) Looks like a rock star and talks like a surfer. If history bores you, take his class & change your mind.

Prof. Creasman is a great professor. You will be required to read THE ENTIRE BOOK and take notes. there are 3 exams (lots of writting) and 2 papers. I love his class, then again I'm a history major....

I took Carl for the second semester in a row. He is one of the best professors you will ever have. He is very enthusiastic about history, and he really wants his students to get the most out of his classes. I would definitly take him again!

He is an awesome guy and very interested in this subject. You have to take notes before class on the reading every class. There are 3 tests majority of the points being essay. You have to study hard, but if you study hard then an A is there. 3 papers all on critical thinking. Great teacher and guy.

He is the nicest guy ever..but the class is impossible! He thinks that everyone is a history major and has nothing better to do then write notes before each class. Tests are impossible..all writing and assigns ridiculous essays. Take if you are a history major, otherwise find someone else!

He thinks the ONLY class you have is his. You have to read 20-30 pages a day AND outline the pages. Essays are VERY difficult. 1st one,30% of your grade is about stuff that was not covered in class yet. He is nice and helpful though. Unless you love outlining the ENTIRE book look for another teacher

Yes you have to take notes in his class, but he does not collect it till the end. You can simply take notes on his lectures and you'll be fine.

Took this course as a dual enrollment class in high school. Lets just stay the class started off with 11 students and by the end was only 5. Makes you work hard and think. I got an A becuase he really motivated me. I would suggest taking him if you're serious about learning. Really enjoyed his class

Very time consuming class, but Creasman is a great professor. He is very helpful and is even willing to become you friend. He expects a lot out of you but he gives you all the tools you would need to do all of the work. Do not take this class for an easy A.

There are 2 tests & 1 paper & a group project; the rest is participation and notes which you have to turn in every class. He is very strict w/ attendance. He does push certain conservative political views on the class without allowing debate. Students with different opinions were not allowed to express their views,b/c he would shoot them down.

He's a great teacher! I don't see why so many complaints on the "chapter outline" - he doesn't expect much. I remember I put two lines on paper once and get credit for it. Just work hard and most of all participate in class, and show understanding and he's great. Extremely knowledgable in history. Best teacher I've had in college yet.

I thought overall he was a good teacher. I got kinda tired of hearing about being a critical thinker and what it takes to "make it" in the real world. Way too much time spent on that at the begninning of class, then had to rush to finish at the end! Only 2 tests. Tough class in the summer. Lots of work but knows his history well. Very motivating.

Challenging, wants you to come prepared and asks for a fairly simple hand in thing, pretty much whatever you want as long as its on the topic. Using websites now which I think is cool, the book is now optional (saves $$). Discussions online i like as it means I don't have to talk in class as much. Cares for students, even those who disagree.

Creasman is awsome! The outlines that people keep complaining about are for the benefit of the students, to help them learn. If you don't want to learn, don't take his class (but why are you in college if you don't want to learn?) Creasman is inspiring, kind, extremely helpful, and the best teacher I've had at VCC! i thought this professor gave way too much work to then be turned in within a matter of a day or two. his exams were really hard also, he expects to know every single detail. if you don't put in everything he wants in the question, he'll give no credit for it. not even half credit if you answer it 1/2 correctly. his questions on the exam are essay

Tons of work for the online course. Lots of posting on WebCT. I learned more than I would have expected. He really loves his subject and tries to make sure you understand it. He's really understanding and funny.

Conservative and lets you know it. I wanted to walk out of class at times because of the way he would rant on about politics. Needs to just teach history and stop putting his opinion into everything. But it was still an easy class, though I can't say I recommend him.

Mr. Creasman is awesome and anyone who truly enjoys learning should take him. If want to take a class just because you have to, don't waste your time, leave this class open to people who WANT to learn! He is so open-minded and willing to discuss and help you...GREAT!!

Carl is an awesome professor. His test are written not pick a b or c, so they can be difficult but if you listen to the lecture and read you will do great! I am horrible at test and history and I passed this class so I know anyone can. He is very helpful and cool!

The BEST teacher I've had at either VCC or UCF! He is very helpful and a vault of knowledge. His class isn't easy if you arn't prepared to work and go to class, but if you are, sometimes you are rewarded with Pizza! Overall a cool guy, glad I was able to take him.

It's true this is not an 'easy A' kind of class. But Prof. Creasman is a really amazing teacher. He made the material really interesting and I learned a lot. The tests are all essay, but if you take notes and study you'll be okay. I bombed the first test, but was able to still pass with an A after some studying. I strongly suggest a study group!

Don't get my wrong, this guy is really nice. But he acts like his class is the only one you're taking. Pre-reading notes due every single class, six in depth 50 question exams online, 2 papers, and 2 in class essay exams. On essay exams he gives 10-12 possible topics, assigns only 2 at random and you're basically screwed. I barely made it out alive

This is not the class for an easy A. However, it will be the best class you ever take. He is a very very smart man! Because of him i changed my major to Social Science Education. I've taken 4 classes with Carl, all of them awesome experiences. He is constantly trying to find new ways to help students learn better, so tests and assignments vary from class to class, semester to semester. Carl's about more than names, dates etc. He brings relevance and meaning to the subject. History lovers and others should take his classes!

I usually hated History, but Prof. Creasman completely changed my mind! He's one of the best history teachers out there. You can learn so much from him. His quizzes come from his lectures so pay CLOSE ATTENTION in class. TAKE NOTES!!!

Took his online class. Great professor. Lots of interesting links and always willing to help you out. The class is as easy or hard as YOU make it. Do the work and stay involved and you'll do fine. You use the textbook + some great sites that he posts for you to review. He's big time into critical thinking -- be prepared to write!

This teacher is well educated and really knows his history. He's a fun guy and tries to make history fun. His tests are too demanding in such a short period of time. Short answers, definitions, and 2 essays are too much for one test. If you like history you will do well. If not, you have to work REALLY hard

Prof Creasman is extremely helpful, is totally clear in his lectures, has a fun approach to his method of teaching, and he's super cute. . . His tests are helpful, and he is very thorough in his directions when preparing for mid terms and finals.

I took him during the spring semester and the class was awesome! I love history and Mr. Creasman taught just the way I would have taught it. The textbook is totally optional, because he lectures during the class. His tests are online and you can use your notes (pay attention during his lectures.) I highly,highly,highly recommend Mr Creasman!

I took Mr. Creasman's class online. As long as you keep up with the reading and discussions you will be fine. If you want a class that requires no reading and lazy days don't take this professor. Really nice guy... cares about how you are doing in the class and wishes for you to suceed.

He makes YOU learn the subject by doing independent research on the topics. 3 tests, all which fall back on the ideas he emphasizes during lectures. SO TAKE NOTES! You will be taught beyond a mere textbook and history might just come alive in his class. He is a great teach, but beware, you must STUDY HARD, his test are NOT multiple choice but essays.

I have never worked so hard or learned so much from one class. Valencia is so out of Professor Creasman's league but I'm glad that I got the chance to take this course. Creasman is a good guy that really wants his students to learn and understand history. Be prepared to spend 10-12 hours studying for each test. Take notes and do your prep work!

Honestly, this is one of the best professors I have ever had at Valencia. He is fair, concise, and extremely helpful in anyway he can help his students. Carl is AWESOME. I've taken four classes with him, and every semester I look forward to his class. He loves history and wants you to learn, so he'll spend hours outside of class talking to his students. Class isn't easy, but it's fun and you learn so much. Tests are essays, and there is daily homework, but this is college. Get used to it!

He is a very intelligent man and knows his stuff. Tests consist of two essays. Does not let you out early. He talks pretty fast during lectures making it hard to take good notes. He is a good teacher but, the class is just hard.

This professor is dedicated to teaching students the history of our country. He treats every student like an intelligent adult and unfortunately that is my only complaint. If you are not an intelligent adult, find another class to show up late in and not do your homework for, because this class will eat you up.

Online course- Made us write a lot about historical events/people and the Final Exam was "overkill", it was all comprehensive. We had to write about almost everything covered in the course and we had to write 2 essays on top of all that. Our answers to questions on it along with the 2 essays ended up being at least a 9 page response!!!!

Best Professor I have had at Valencia by far. The work is fair and so are his test and grading. Extremely helpful and interesting. Made class fun and worth going to. I would have to say I have learned the most from him during my last year and a half at Valencia. Loved him and high recommend him!

This class is definitely not an easy A, however I got an A while taking 6 other math and science based courses. He expects so much out of you because that's how the real world works. This is a college course, don't expect anythig less.

Creasman is certainly not a Professor I would take if you're looking for an easy A. I have the priveledge of taking him for two classes semester. Those two require a full time effort however, you won't find a Professor who has a greater interest in your education than he does.

The best professor I have had at Valencia. I think I learned more in his class than all other classes combined. Test are hard but the study guide is great. I got an A but it was hard. I am now at UCF and because of his class I switched my major to History.

You must obviously do the work, and participate. That being said, you could not ask for a better professor for any history course. He is clear, helpful, interesting, funny, and a little left-of-center politically.

I absolutely adore Creasman. He is a little challenging for someone looking for an easy A, but the quality of learning you receive if you apply yourself to the class is out of this world. Took him for both AMH classes at Valencia. Both classes were easily my favorite. 1 research paper where you have to pick a side, and daily notes on a given topic which lead to in class discussions are the focal point of his classes. This teacher definitely is a great life coach and passionate in history and teaches it in a new way. But I personally dont like History as a subject, especially in how much writing the huge assessments required for them. I did learn a lot once the semester picked up because this class forces you to pick up your slack and study HARD. WORK FOR YOUR A

Creasman is really easy to work with. He has a lecture style of teaching, but if you record his classes you'll never miss a thing, which is great because any question he gives you on a test is always answered in the classes prior. His lectures are always spot on and easy to listen to with his cute southern accent.

Outstanding class, It wasn't "easy" but it was NOT HARD. You have assignments to do every week that you must research. Assignments were to write no longer than 1 page word doc. to keep your thoughts conceive and reply to a discussion board to other students. Mid term and final were 4-6 page essays. Do your work then the essays are easy! ~97% A

He is super great, but requires a lot of his students. He wants you to be successful but knows not every student will be. Basically your grade reflects your effort in the class

I took professor Creasman for every class that I could. He is hands down the most dedicated professor at Valencia. His motivating attitude is infectious and his classes truly do prepare you for furthering your education. His method works, be prepared to work, you take away from the class what you put into it.

My best college professor yet. He's brilliant and prepared for anything question you can throw at him. Class discussions are fun and if you have at least a slight interest in history you'll enjoy the class. You will write a lot, so be comfortable with that.

Not your average professor. Do the prep work & you'll ace! He relates everything he teaches to modern events. I would tell anyone to take this man in any class. I have so much respect for him. He cares about his students & teaches how to be successful in every college class, not just his. He jokes about being the president but he has my vote.

There was a lot of writing. Two papers a week plus a discussion. The workload did negatively effect my other classes. Valencia changed the class to an expedited course after I registered so, I wasn't prepared for so much. Despite that, it was an easy class and he is a great professor. It is time consuming, take that in mind.

Don't be so whiny people! This is college, so you have to write a lot. Writing learning. I enjoyed the conversations in class, engaging and entertaining. There is a lot of work, but I would not have learned so much if I didn't write about it. Thank you for a great class, probably my first real college level course.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR UNLESS YOU ARE VERY INTERESTED IN THE TOPIC AND HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO DEVOTE TO HOMEWORK. This especially applies to HONORS. He's a cool guy, but he expects too much for a gen ed class at a State College. This especially applies to busy honors students! I withdrew and don't regret it; so did 6 out of 12 other honors kids.

Amazing professor. I took this class during the summer & it was accelerated so the work load was a bit heavy but that's what you should expect with summer classes. He made the material so much more interesting & I really loved his sense of humor. Like someone else said, you take away from the class what you put into it. Do the work & you'll be fine

I absolutely love Professor Creasman. I took him in the summer and he was awesome! You have to love American History to take this class. This Professor really knows everything about it! You will learn so much that you didn't know about the U.S. He cares a great deal about his students. He gives many opportunities for extra credit. The BEST!!!

Ok, here we go. He is a cool guy and that is where it ends. He has ok lectures, more of a conscious stream of though than a lecture. Notes are important and so are his graded paragraphs. PRO tip, don't get sick, he will take points off for that. You cannot earn a 100 in this class. His unit assessments make up the bulk of the grade. Good luck.

Professor Creasman is an excellent professor. He knows a lot about everything. His class is based on "Pre-Work": (Assignment) 3 Unit assessment. This class is an easy A if you do what they syllabus says. This course require a lot of work,( a lot of assignments) but it is for your learning.

He is great! I took Professor Creasman's online course. He gives you everything you need to succeed. The required book is good, and he also provides additional resources for you to get a better understanding. It is also important that you cite various sources to write your papers. If you have fun with the class, you can learn a whole lot. Take him!

Challenging professor; great personality. Fair grader, got almost 25% of my grade simply by showing up and doing work in class. Loved the lectures. Had to take a ton of notes (kept talking about it all the time; sort of got old hearing that). Tests were taken from class notes and he gave us the essay topics ahead of time.

I am taking the class online; there is a ton of writing, but the course is easy. Part of the grade comes from a textbook online thing where if I just finish it, I get 100, and that's worth 15% of my grade. Otherwise, its discussions and writing; he's very involved in discussions so don't miss those or he'll notice. Just don't miss any deadlines.

Professor Creasman expects a lot of his students but he is also super supportive. Show up for class, ask questions if you have them, and you will learn so much! I plan to take him again. He is that good.

I absolutely LOVED this Professor. I wish I could take him again. Funny, creative in teaching, and very caring towards students. His class is a lot of work, especially in summer, with 2 short essays, an full discussion ( he participates ), and a quiz every week. I learned a lot and he is a fantastic professor. He will verbally give you every single answer on the test so take very good notes. If you show up, participate, and make sure you are paying attention, you easily pass with an A.

Mr. Creasman was a very passionate guy about what he was teaching, which I appreciated. Get ready for some essays and tests, but you will definitely know what will be on them, and have plenty of time to prepare. He isn't too tough of a grader, but you need to know what you are talking about when you write. We wrote graded paragraphs every class.

Professor Creasman was a great teacher to have for this class. He clearly cares about his students and enjoys teaching his material. His lectures go by kind of quick so you have to make sure to get good at taking notes fast. A fair grader, and he is always willing to help you to understand the material. I definitely recommend him for any class.

The department chair for history at Valencia, prof Creasman, is an absolute pleasure to work with. The man knows his stuff, the class is extremely interesting, and you will leave knowing the material perfectly. He has an odd method of teaching, and the class can be slightly challenging with an emphasis on written work, but still very worth taking.

I took his 6-week summer course and did very well. He will give a lot of work to do but they help a ton when writing the papers and he gives great feedback. As long as you manage your time, his class will be a piece of take. Loved this class, 10/10 would recommend.

I took him my first semester of college and he really set me up for success. He treats us as an adult not children. As an 18 year old that was really nice. We took 3 tests and they are all essay based, but they really weren't that hard and he gives amazing feedback on how to get better grades during the next test. You will learn so much!!

I took Professor Creasman's AMH2010 mixed-mode course. He is highly skilled when it comes to conveying the information, which is a necessity, because a thorough understanding of the material is required to do his assignments. They are very writing heavy, so if you're not a good writer, he may not be the best choice.

I was so afraid to be in a college class, but professor Creasman made it easy. He is so very nice and really cares about all his students, regular and school life. Participation matter, if you are going to his class to learn, he will teach you. Every week you have a learning curve and hw prep for the next class. Just do the work and you'll pass >V<

Honestly, I am surprised with how well this class turned out. I actually learned a lot. He has clear grading criteria. You do have to get an access code, but no real need for the book. He seems like a tough grader, but he honestly improved me as a student.

I took his US History pt2 online, and he definitely knows how to teach. Although i took a 6-week course and there was a lot of work, he always defined what needed to be done and when. Helpful videos, EC, participation in discussions is key, textbook helps but I got by not reading much. Final essay wasn't so bad, he loves students to "dig deep".

To be completely honest here he is probably the only professor that actually cares about the material and makes sure each student understands the history. Yes it's a lof of work but I took a summer semester so it was expected. Do the reading, put in the work, and you'll do fine. Highly recommend if you care at all about history!

Mr. Creasman is a wonderful professor. Im taking him for the Fall 2020 semester; and it is usually just 3-4 assignments a week due on Friday. Although he does have discussions in which you must make a response prior to Tuesday to avoid a late plenty. You don't need to use the textbook religiously; the internet is just fine. Easy A!

Prof . Carl was awesome. I naturally found the top at hand to be cool but he gave it a great spin and was really encouraging to the students to really push themselves in and out off the classroom. If you want a legit professor, go to him, its a easy pass, not hard to get an A, and will actually help you grow. Took him Fall 2019

Professor Creasmam has been the only professor I had who actually cared about my work. He grades well and explains everything you might have missed. He genuinely wants you to ask if you need help & never makes you feel stupid. He offers lots of extra credit and there is weekly assignments in 1-2 page answers. The class is interesting and manageable

This class isnt for people who want an easy a, but if you do your work and put the effort in, even if you have trouble, hell work with you and make sure you at least pass. Theres a lot of writing, and hes a talker, but hes a positive guy, and hes just really passionate about history and about life in general.

Amazing professor! Must work hard for your grade. 10 graded paragraphs based on what he lectured about in the previous class. Provides all answers to tests in his lectures so take good notes (about 15-20 pages per unit) Assessments progressively get harder (essay outline in Unit 1 to essay by Unit 3) Wants you to be good in school and as a person!

I took his class for the summer term, and I thought it was going to be a boring never-ending course, BUT professor Creasman is very knowledgeable about history, and his passion for the events and how they unfold made the course context very interesting. TAKE him! There's reading and writing involved, but very worth it!

Amazing teacher. His class does require lots of reading and preparation. You'll need to have at least a page of prep work for class everyday but most of it is pretty easy. Participation is important for your final grade and be prepared to share your work with peers around you. His class is fun and informative and he really cares for his students.

THIS IS NOT JUST A HISTORY COURSE. You will have 3 5-7 page papers due throughout the term, so if you don't like writing essays this is not the course for you. HOWEVER, Creasman is an amazing professor and genuinely wants to see you succeed. Funny, nice, caring, respects his students, and overall a great guy. Engaging lectures! Loved his course.

Best teacher I had before Xmas. Caring, inspirational, and interacts well with all students. You are going to write a lot of stuff, but it's not very overwhelming if you manage to keep up with his talks and assignments. He values efforts more than anything, so anyone can put the work and get more than a decent grade.

As others mention there is A LOT of writing to take up 10+hrs/week so if you work many hours it is going to feel very challenging to keep up. Very strict on grading as well. HOWEVER, the professor himself has valuable feedback and I enjoyed his lectures. He is very engaging which is why I gave a good rating despite it being incredibly difficult

He did not give lengthy assignments, about 2-3 short assignments weekly which I referred to a lot for the final as well. He provided extra credit lectures which were super helpful and even though the course was online, he was very involved and gave very good feedback.

Creasman was an amazing professor who is passionate about history, his in-person lectures were very interesting to learn about. The syllabus he gives you will be your best-friend for deadlines, so use it! Your effort is the determination of your grade, as assignments are optional but it will only help you prove to him your "grade" at end of term.

If you REALLY want to learn history and grow as a student, Creasman is the best option! He is an amazing person who cares about your learning. His lectures have kind a grad school style, with previous individual research and class discussions. It wasn't easy but I learned a lot! If you are only interested in an easy A, look for someone else

I would 10000% recommend him, he was an amazing teacher, and cares about his students. He doesn't give tests all you have to you is your prep work for the class. Pay attention, participate in the class and you will be fine. Best Professor ever.

Sooo sooo good! he does use a different approach to learning though; you take the material and apply it in ways that you understand. Basically, show what you learned in your own way. I did mine through skits! You can do it through rapping, videos, stop motion animation, etc!
