Very awesome teacher! Class is pretty easy, if your in Earth science, the keys trip is a MUST!! Lots of fun!

Not a hard class. You still learn a lot. Its more of a learn by video/computer course, with Mr. Opper their to clarify for you. If you need a course like this one, I recommend you take the course.

Mr Opper is kind of a smart-ass but he is nice at the same time so it makes class humorous. This class is really simple as long as you do the work. I recommend him if you aren't a science major.

I really like him. You have to be disciplined to do well in this class. I never watched the videos. I just took notes from the scripts on my own and did really well. There are practice quizzes you can take which really help before quizzes and tests.

I was the test bunny for the old notebooks we had,I saw the new ones and BOY! do I wish I had those ;) I loved the Keys Trip! He is nice, Funny and easy going. He stayed after class with me(past office hours)to help quiz me and go over stuff I didn't get.

I loved Prof. Opper's class. I think he is a GREAT teacher. You just can't expect to skate through his class though, there's something called "work" involved.

You only have to go to class 2/3 days of the week. The lab isnt really needed but it helps. TAKE THE PRACTICE TESTS even though they are 4x longer than the normal 10 question quizzes. He is -ALWAYS- willing to help his students. This is the best teacher to learn from in my experience at the school.

I took Prof Opper on the telecourse. The movies were outdated but tolerable. The textbook was better. Prof Opper was always willing to entertain any of my questions over the phone even though we did not meet for actual class time.

This class was a blast. Pro Opper is a stand up guy that will bend over backwords to help you out.

I took him years ago and i remember him being one of the few teachers at that school that i felt was convincingly knowlegable about his subject.

Prof. Opper was the most awesome science instructor ever! I am not one for science, but he is so educated in this area, and willing to help out, that I enjoyed this class.

I had class on Tues and Thurs he let us decide on one day to come in. This cut the class in half making it easier to be tought one on one. He is very helpful and likes to give hints so you get the right anwser. he is a professor that wants to see students get A's. Really nice guy.

Took Mr Opper for earth science and lab great teacher gives you chances of getting an easy "A" take him the test are simple read the book and do the practice test and you can pass with flying colors. he is very nice and easy to get along with. great teacher there should be more like him for science unfortunable there is not I whish thought biology.

This class was super easy. I failed earth science the semester before(don't take Cutlip. And I am retaking the class and have a "B" in the class he is so helpful and its just 2 quizzes open book and a midterm and final that is online. He is easy to take and would recommend him to anyone who wants to get a good grade and keep movin'.

Makes Earth Science interesting. Very informative with his lectures and helpful with the computer interactive stuff. Kind of bland personality wise, but a great guy who loves his job. I highly recommend Mr. Opper.

I took him online, He gives two quiz and two exams. Good, easy class. Take him if you dont want alot of work.

Pro. Opper was the most helpful teacher I have ever had. He does not expect you to know eveyhting, however; he expects you to be knowledgeable on the text. The class was a little too easy (although the lab book was TIME CONSUMING). He is a nice guy who instructs an enjoyable class.

Such a good teacher I had him online for earth and earth realved science and he was great and he was easy and very clear... only give 4 quizes and 1 mid and 1 final no busy work...

Awesome teacher give curves on final and midterm... No busy work.. if u hate science Opper, take the online class and u can pass without busy stressful work.

I took the lab he taught and i thought he was a great teacher. He's always willing to help and pretty much will give you the answer if you ask him. I found myself leaving class an hour early because the work wasn't that hard but i'd say take him.

Great teacher! Very helpful and passionate about science! Only have to go to class one day a week. Very easy as long as you watch the videos or read the script book. I highly recomend getting the script book.

Absolutley no work involved. You have four easy tests...a midterm and a final. The midterm and final are not easy at all though..but he does give a pretty big curve on them.

Good teacher. Class requires a lot of memorizing so the class sucks but Mr. Opper just loves teaching it so it makes it more fun. Definitely recommend taking him

Professor Opper loves to teach this stuff which makes it interesting...for him. There is A LOT of busy work daily to be done on your part, daily quizzes, very hard exams, I just don't recommend taking him if you are taking other classes as well since he requires so much work out of you. Lame video's to watch and is very time consuming!!!!!

Super easy online class if you at least pick up the book and get the gist of each chapter. Videos are a must to help tie the info together, although they are a bit dated. The best part that the only things required in the class were 4 quizzes (open book) and a midterm and final which are also done online. No distracting discussion forums :-)

Opper is a good teacher for Earth Science. He always explains the material and he never gives homework OH and did i mention class only meets ONCE a week and you get 3 credits. CAN YOU SAY EASY. He will help if you ask. Its almost mandatory to go to class cause there is a quiz every week but its easy the answers are in the next room. GREAT TEACHER!

Opper is a good professor and wants his students to do well! It's an easy class if you have good lab partners and study for the lab quizzes~ The only thing I did not like, was how he did not lecture very much in lab and he also did not really spend a lot of time explaining the material/chapters in the lab book. I do recommend him though!

Took "Earth Revealed" class. Extremely heavy focus on rocks and earth structure. Class is somewhat challenging, and you will definitely be required to watch the videos/read the text. Skimming the book will not suffice for this class. With that said, Opper is a good online instructor.

Great teacher but if you're looking for an easy A this is not your class. There is a quiz every week based on that week's chapter. You are only required to attend class once per week. The alternate day is your day to watch the video instruction. The tests are pretty hard and there's a lot of material to know. put the effort in & you will do fine.

Prof.Opper's Earth Science class is awesome. He gives a TREMENDOUS amount of extra credit assignments you can do and THEY HELP!!! Just make sure you get all assignments in and you will do great.

Opper is my favorite Teacher at SPC so far. You only attend class 1 time a week, If you keep up with work its an easy A or B. Extremely helpful. Tells corny jokes to make you laugh. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

Only has you come to class once a week. Not a hard class. Gives a lot of EASY extra credit. Very helpful if you are confused. Shows enthusiasm on the subject. The class is like a lab; he lectures for about 20 minutes then you do hands on stuff and a worksheet in class, then take a quiz at the end of every class period.

Not a lot of work. 3 chapters each test, 4 tests total. Each chapter has assignment questions and a web page to visit and answer an avg. of 5 ques. each. You have about three weeks to complete and turn in prior to each test. Each test is 50 ques. multiple choice. Grade is 60%tests, 20% assign. and 20% web assign. Good to take with a full load.

Professor Opper is one of the greatest instructors there are. Answers questions in decent time frame. You will have TO READ and study, keep that in mind, do EVERYTHING including extra credit and you should be fine.

Best professor at SPC! Such a cool guy. He will NOT let you fail! Very clear lectures and you only have to attend once a week. I just thought earth science would be an easy class (it was!), now Im a Geology major! Opper is really nice and funny. I really look up to him. maybe someday I can actually work with him! Earth Science online-Did allow some extra credit. You have to do the work, do not be afraid to ask questions, Professor Opper will assist you and is pretty good with quick response time.

Probably the best Professor there is! Very down to Earth kind of guy. Had a blast on his field trip to Key Largo!

He makes what could be a difficult subject VERY EASY. I truly believe he has been the nicest teacher I have ever had. He is nice, understanding, clear, and helpful. Not only will you leave this class with an easy A, you will also have a good grasp of the material!

Look, plain and simple this is college. For college, he's an easy teacher. Do the work and study and you get a good greade just like any other class; treat the class like its high school and you'll fail. Its your choice. Material is not advanced. He's very very helpful in class, but you have to watch the videos and study out of class to get an A

I got an A in both his class and the lab, and I took it over the summer which was faster paced but if you do the work and review before the quizzes especially, you will be fine. He's the nicest teacher ive had, and hes very easy going and will always be there to answer questions!

You can pass Earth Science with Dr.Opper.He is a Great Teacher.You know what needs to be done and when it is due.Do not fall behind. Keep up with your work.

Opper is an outstanding teacher. He has very clear expectations and he is eager to help you if you are trying to learn. I see that many people have complained about his tests being hard, but if you actually read the lessons and do the examples, the tests are rather easy. If you do not get an A, you did not study. I would definitely recommend him.

Took the class online. If someone doesn't get an A in this class, they didn't try. Everything is open book! The work was consistent and he was clear about his expectations. He is a pretty fast grader and is good at responding to emails. He wants his students to do well. I really enjoyed this class and I definitely recommend this teacher!

This class isn't hard at all. But you WILL have to study and pay attention in class if you want an A. He is very helpful if you have any questions and does offer some extra credit. And, if you plan ahead, you only have to go to class once a week :)

Took him online for a summer course. Def. not a pushover class. Do your homework and the field trips. Gives extra credit for all exams plus one extra. Tests are hard because they aren't on what you think they would be on. So basically read the chapter, do all your work, and you'll pass. Half ass it and you def. won't stand a chance.

I took Opper for ESC lab and I got a A-. He is VERY helpful and polite. If you want to get an A you got to study hard. NIce teacher, hard class. Lab is an easy class bu the other earth science class was hard= 4 tests 72 questions and quiz in every chapter, 1o questions.

Prof. Opper is a great teacher. He's funny and has a good personality, unlike most science teachers, but on the other hand REALLY know's his stuff. VERY HELPFUL. He will answer any question you have, anytime. EVERYTHING from quizzes/ test are in the book, no surprises. Study and "try" and you will get an A or B! Highly recommend, great teacher.

Mr. Opper is a great teacher, and very very helpful. If you have a problem he is will to help and give you every chance possible to pass his. He is a great teacher. If you don't like sience he is the teacher to take.

Dr. Opper is a hard professor and I took this class online. However, he got my brain thinking and does expect his students to learn. He responds to questions and is available for help. Midterm was extremely difficult and I studied for four days! No review for tests provided and almost all of my teachers in different subjects provide a review.

This teacher really challenges you intellectually. As long as you understand the concepts from the text you will do well in this class. He responds really well to questions or emails. The texts are quite difficult especially if you don't put a lot of effort into studying and they account for 60% of your grade. Great teacher! Enjoyed the class.

Watch a 45 min video and take notes on your off day. On your class day he will review for 10-15 min hitting the important points and give you an open book worksheet to complete. then you take a 10 question test. Simple if you're not an idiot. The 4 unit tests, 70 questions each, do require studying. You have to put in study time for those

Good professor, hes been doing it a long time. Knows his study very well. That said, the class feels like an online course. One day of the week your in class, the other you have to watch a video at home or in the lab. The other day in class, you have to do a worksheet and a quiz, so keep up with them for a good grade and get together with friends.

He is very helpful and willing to make accommodations. His class is extremely easy if you show up when you're supposed to, and at least look over the material. The study guide format of the textbook makes the class and tests very easy.

Watch videos and take notes. sometimes I did not watch the videos, and got Bs and Cs on the quizzes each work. definitely needed to study! I ended up with a B, even though I am horrible at science. take advantage of his office hours, it helped me a lot on the tests! very interesting class, teacher was very knowledgeable and class fun

Basically, you watch a video on your time for each chapter and learn from that and take notes in a study guide. Then once a week you meet in class and he basically goes over and clarifies what people don't understand. Really cool teacher and makes the subject really interesting. Not the hardest class to take, but you will learn a lot! Take it!

Professor Opper is one of my favorite professors so far at SPC. If you do the work it's a guaranteed A or B. I learned a ton, and he made it fun. I got to go on a free trip to NASA with him and other class members, and got extra credit for it (paid for by the science department)!!! He's a funny guy and is very laid back. Great experience.

Professor Opper is an awesome teacher! He's very clear with all his instructions and very willing to help out when ever you need it. It's not hard to pass the class, I got a B and I barely studied. As long as you do the work he assigns and pay attention to what he says you'll be golden. And make sure to laugh at his corny jokes, he likes that.

Ok anyone who says he's an awful teacher and this class is terrible is a dirty rotten liar. He is so nice and willing to help and further explain anything if you ask. Yes the class is basically watching videos and doing a worksheet but he also reviews before quizes and always offers help. I got a B and barely studied. Take this professor!!!

He's a good teacher and he's nice. The workbook and videos are a bit outdated. Some information has changed since they were made. I knew most of the stuff, but I also learned some. I didn't do well on the big tests though, so you should probably study for them.

He is an amazing person and teacher. He is so willing to talk to students, give advice and help with career chooses. He is an amazing geologist as well. However if you don't like to study rocks and minerals this class will be boring and also Professor Opper will seem weird since most of his jokes are rock related.

This professor is very helpful. He really enjoys teacher. I loved going to class to learn more. He has cute jokes. He is always willing to help you if you need it. Clear grading, and only thing you need to do is study the notes he tells you to write down. He is fantastic at teaching take him. Let me say it again, best teacher ever!

Professor Opper was AMAZING! I definitely hate anything that has to do with science but he definitely made learning about the Earth fun! He had a lot of corny jokes but they definitely made you chuckle. I wish he thought other sciences because I would for sure take him again. He even lets you use front and back of paper for all test. EVEN THE FINAL

Great teacher, gives you front and back to a piece of paper for tests. You can write as much or as little as you want. Ample time to take test, 70 questions true and false was difficult in my opinion. But great class. NO HOMEWORK, in class assignments(can use notes)

Easiest professor I have ever had! No quizzes ( but optional for extra credit ), no home work, and you get front and back piece of paper you can write on and bring for tests. Test are kind of hard, and sometimes he drags things on. Definitely worth it!

Professor Opper is a very nice guy. Helps his students as much as possible. If you actually pay attention and are willing to learn this class is fun and easy. Of course the Tests are tough, your getting tested if you've paid any attention during class.

Greatest professor I have ever had. First half of class is lectures, Second half is a lab which you do with your partners (who you sit next to on the first day) If you are shy, do not worry you will never be called on on the spot. Opper really cares about his job and you can tell in how he treats his students and how exciting he gets about his work

Professor Opper ROCKS! He tells cheesy science jokes and I find it hilarious. Pretty good at teaching and is always there to help you during labs. Just don't take him for GRANITE. You can bring a front & back sheet of notes but the tests are still tough. Study guides should be improved but other than that it was a good class.

Mr. Opper is a hilarious guy. He is always telling corny jokes and making light of any situation. However, the tests are tough and some information on the test was never mentioned in a lecture. He has study guides, but honestly they are no help. Take good notes, study the notes, and write notes again for the test. You HAVE TO STUDY TO PASS.

Professor Opper is so nice and makes class interesting. I do not like science, but I enjoyed the class and his sense of humor. Attendance is important because you do a lab each class, but he drops the lowest two grades. If you listen to his lectures and do the labs, you will pass the class with an A.

Four tests (non comprehensive) with a page of notes, lab each class (you get a partner) and Pearson homework due each week (easy but can get forgotten about) Two lowest lab grades dropped. He really loves science and kinda sounds like Tom Hanks. Lots of rock puns 3 I love this class.

Professor Opper is a great teacher who clearly loves what he does. His lectures are simple and clear, and he even tells you what is going to be on the test. The best part of all is that there are no assignments outside of class. I would definitely take this professor again.

READ, READ, READ THE BOOK & SHOW UP FOR LECTURES AND YOU WILL PASS WITH A OR B FOR SURE. Reading the assigned chapters helps you learn the material, showing up for lectures reenforces what you've read. There are four tests (non comprehensive), for homework -read chapter, he drops two labs, Opper is caring, gives a curve on tests of two points.

I am currently taking him now for a combined Earth Science lecture and lab. I really like Professor Opper and you can tell he cares. His class structure is the pits. There is a lab EVERY class, and they sometimes have nothing to do with the lecture. I wish he would spend more time going over the tests than taking up class time with constant labs.

This guy is so silly ! I actually learn and Opper makes it very interesting and understandable. He makes puns a lot and its great, hes a real treat. Hes very helpful during labs and does anything to help you understand. Super cool, and really knows his stuff.

The absolute BEST professor I've ever had! He cares about all his students and the only way you could fail his class is if you never show up to class. It lets your have a cheat sheet, front AND back of a piece of paper, that he lets you use on the test. I would take him again and again and again. He actually knows what he is talking about.

Dr. Opper was my favorite professor at SPC! He made a long class go by quickly and made everything very interesting. He is very knowledgeable and clearly knows the topic. Labs were fun and helpful. Tests were multiple choice and based on lectures. Everything you need to know is in his lectures, I barely used the book. He is also helpful w q's.
