If you have any sense do not take ENG 270. We never spoke about the materials we read; he talked more about how he's scared to drive and scared of fireworks. Maybe try taking acid before you take the course because he's got such messed up ideas of the world that nothing he says holds any value. Oh, but he will tell you how to get high off of Halls.

He's a one of a kind prof who really puts his heart into what he teaches. (I think he's hot!!) For Carl, visual art, text, music, film and life itself all interweave. If you don't like to think about the deeper meaning of things, then stay away. But if you're creative and enjoy the challenge of the unconventional, Carl's totally amazing!!

The wierdest class I have ever taken. It was supposed to be themes of popular fiction, which he then changed to themes of sin and death. At the beginning of the semester, I did the readings, but soon found that his lectures had nothing to do with the course material, or was very loosely based on it. Hard to understand but did good in the class!

Carl is an awesome teacher who is very passionate about his subject. He is insightful about the world around him, and teaches material that you won't see in the other classrooms which is a nice change. Easy marker, no midterms, maybe a final exam (usually a short paper). Great guy. Teaches you more than just what is in the text.
