Good class overall. Great in-class experience at argument(the basis of this specific course) and he is very willing to provide help outside of class. The madness of lots of writing comes on gradually instead of all at once, which is a good thing...it's less overwhelming; it's very well-paced.

This guy puts me to sleep. I dislike his one sided comments (which is the basis for all his lessons) I don't believe that he grades people unbiasedly, i think he just grades to get it out of the way. I have stayed awake in his class less than half this semester. And he ****s wayyy too much. "Well, a lot of people I have spoken to [agree with me]." but if you bother to some time, ask him WHO it was. He won't have an answer, at least not one that sounds legitimate

Great Professor! Very knowledgable, professional, and curtious. If you're looking for intelligent, articulate lectures/discourse combined with a challenging semester long paper, Silvio is your man. Great professor. He acts like a hardass but he's surprisingly pretty lenient if you're a good student and you notify him about what's going on. Don't come to class late. Very laid back guy. If you need clear timelines for assignments, you may get stressed out as he doesn't plan it all out with dates at the beginning of the semester.

He's an extremely fun and open-minded teacher. He's very patient when you are trying to get across a point and genuinely listens to what you have to say. He's an intelligent man who really helps people understand the literature. I've never enjoyed an English class more than the one I had with him and plan to take as many more as I can with the guy.

Only grades on papers and maybe only 4 assignments from the textbook. There are only 4 or 5 papers throughout the year and those basically determine your grade. He does peer review sessions so there will usually be a couple drafts of the same paper, which means writing the actual paper is a little easier and it Eliminates writing one last minute.

Dr. Silvio is really smart and funny, and has a way of presenting difficult ideas in a way that's easy to digest. This class is mostly discussion based and he is good about letting us come to our own conclusions while also guiding us. We did a lot of reading but the books are cool. Also he is definitely one of the hottest teachers I've ever had.

This dude is weird. He doesn't remember your name unless you are a female. I took his class because a friend (girl) recommended him but he just focuses on the girls and is not helpful if you're a guy. Also, if you have a different POV he won't get along with you. I know because my POV's are different from his. He thinks he's right when he's wrong.

Professor Silvio has great energy. He brings a lot of interesting ideas and concepts to class and on top of that he is very funny. You won't be bored in his class. He respects every student and loves when they share their ideas. Almost all of the books we read were very intriguing and gave me a new perspective on things. Highly recommend!
