Amazing teacher and person. She will go out of her way to make sure you understand everything and to make sure you're doing alright in the class; just talk to her. As a plus, she's been to a lot of the places you'll talk about and she has pictures and explanations for everything. Take her classes!

Carla is a gem of a teacher. She is a warm and loving person who is passionate about environmentalism and spirituality. Spend time with her in her office hours and you will grow to love her! Read the course material, engage in discussion, and make note sheets for the tests and you will have no problem getting an A. Plenty of extra credit, too!

Taking this class was amazing. I learned so much about the different world religions. I read the text, and actually looked forward to it. During class, she would discuss what was read, but she really wanted to focus on outside knowledge to help us better understand. I did my work, and showed up everyday. I earned an A and exceeded her expectations.

Dear Students, Carla here. Sorry I had to input ratings above in order to spread the word that my RELS 2 course is actually PHIL 8. It's exactly the same class, we just changed the name. So anywhere on this site when students have rated PHIL 8, all of those comments apply to RELS 2. Learn religions in RELS 2! It's a fun class & I love teaching it!

The class is out of 100 points total, so each point is essentially a percentage of your grade. This makes calculating your grade super easy. Although there's a lot of work to do, there's plenty of EC. Beware: Asian Philosophy is essentially Asian Religion. If I had known that I probably wouldn't have taken the course. Still, good class regardless.

Carla is great and if you're thinking about taking a humanities class, take her world religions. Great personality, interesting lectures, really knowledgeable and opinionated in a good way. Easy grader, prepares you for tests, must do a religious visitation. Must use the book in order to do the quizzes. Guest speakers were amazing. Great class.

Carla has a big subject to teach and get us to understand. She did a fantastic job. I learned a large majority of Buddhism and grasped a lot of the concepts. She goes over the test questions and you are always prepared for tests. A lot of extra credit! Books are MANDATORY but easy reads. Carla is a kind soul and funny. Loved the class 10/10

Class: RELS 8 - Buddhism. Professor Grady is an amazing; she brings diversity to her instruction with lecture, power points, videos, reading, and extra credit. A student can monitor their progress by viewing the class material, grades, assignments, and extra credit through CANVAS. I highly recommend her, along with her class(es).

Carla is not only an amazing professor, but an absolutely amazing person who has lead such an interesting life and has so much knowledge and passion for her discipline to share. As a RELS major, she is the best to learn about these topics from and cares so much about the subjects and her students. The greatest mentor I have ever had. 5+ stars
