OK this class was a joke compared to my high school english. She probably cancelled 10 of our classes, and there were some days that we would only be in there for 5 minutes. She's very nice and funny, and she grades extremely easy.

She is an easy teacher, grades easily. Very friendly and supportive. Easy A. Nothing compared to high school. I would recommend her!

Carla is a great teacher!! She takes a few minutes at the beginning of class to ask how everyone is doing, just checking up on ya (its great to have a teacher that cares). If you make an attempt to learn, she will make an attempt to help you out!! She's about to have a baby!! Wish her luck!!

She is great! Everyone who complains about her methods are usually the same ones who don't know anything about rhetorical analysis and make class seem like 6th grade english! Why don't you guys try to learn from her before bashing her? I loved her class and I wish her luck with her baby!

Miss Pastor's tries to educate the class on world issues as well as english issues. She has a accent, but her english is clear. Have you ever heard how people from here speak! Their accents are harder to undersand than hers. People here are often closed minded to new things.

Mrs. Pastor is a very good teacher. She grades fairly, and gives us adequate time to do the papers. The people who complain are probably the same ones who disrupt the class, and do bad on papers b/c they don't pay attention.

prof. pastor is a beautiful intelligent woman who is underapperciated by a group of immature morons. shes a good person and tries to help you, if you dont try you cant blame that on her. most of the people in my class are probably going to be apart of a big statistic soon.

This class can be very easy if pay attention & follow directions. Papers are not hard and she gives adequate time to get them done.

Pastor is THE FUNNIEST teacher at ECU. I LOVE her. She can be a little difficult to understand at times, but she has no problem clarifying what she says. . She adds flavor to what would be a boring class. If you need eng 1200, I definantly recommend her.

She's cool. If you listen and pay attention, she's not hard to understand. Her accent is so cute and adds flavor. She's very polite and actually cares about you. I recommend the class.

Ms. Pastor is soo nice, so funny, very understanding and lenient:) we had class outside today cuz it was pretty out. shes honest. she always asks the students opinion- once she cancelled class cuz no one wanted to be there and just wasnt in a good mood.ha. She helps you write your thesis well too.

Pastor is a sweet lady--kind of funny too with her accent. At times it was a pain to go to class because she was having a hard time connecting with us, but the class gets easier through out the semester. Write the papers and go to class and you should at the VERY least pull a 'B'.

Pretty easy. She does changer her mind a lot, Easy to come out of that class with an A or B without trying. She gives extra points at the end based on participation in class discussions.

Mrs. Pastor is awesomeee. She's so sweet and has the most interesting classes. Before class even starts she aks you how your weekends went and what you did. You are stupid if you don't love her!!

Ms. Pastor is a sweetheart...she has stories that are very interesting, and the project she makes you do at the end of the year is really easy and interesting. The books you read are good too. I would take this class....

Although she has an accent, she makes sure that her students understand everything that she says. Often stops teaching break down material to a student. She is very helpful. She usually ends class early in order to give students more time 2 write papers & do research. Attendance is not mandatory but it helps 2 show up. Important, DO NOT SLEEP

She was a great teacher. She will spell things out for you by going step-by-step on how to format and write your paper. She gets sidetracked, but she is a true sweetheart. Take her if you can...

OMG TOTALLY AWESOME TEACHER! You have to write a bunch of papers, but they are fun. Basically you get to chose what they are on. Very easy and I suggest going to class because her classes are fun, she takes attendence also. Do a lot of talking about random stuff like her past! Very funny person!

AWESOME teacher. She gives you so much time to complete essays and is the best teacher ive had at ECU. do not walk all over her, turn in your work on time and participate. NO TESTS and NO QUIZZES. all essay but she is more than helpful for you to pass. TAKE HER!!!!!

She is an AWESOME teacher, and talks to each student individually about their paper so they are clear on what she expects. She easily strays off subject in class, but shes funny. She loves teaching English and each one of her students!

Mrs. Pastor is a great teacher and an even better friend. Get on her good side and she will treat you like a king/queen. Very helpful very little work except for 4 papers all year long. Most of the year you just talk in class like she's one of your friends. Take it if you are mediocre to good at writing already.

I LOVED THIS TEACHER! She was amazing. Easy grader wanted everyone in the class to make A's and B's. No test no quizzes, no reading just essays (3) she helps you with each step of essay. Shes not only cares about your grades but you as a person as well. I would take her again!

I hate English and I am horrible in it but she was very very helpful... she will meet with you whenever she can... we didnt get along at the beginning of the semester but by the end she was really cool... I love her accent and her stories... hehe

Really great teacher, not always clear but got all A's on her papers. Tells you what to put in the paper and she has other students peer edit which gives you an extra grade on you papers. Not MANDITORY to go to class but she does take attendance and a lot of the stuff in class is important

Take a good look at the complaints, and you'll realize they're basically C-students who can't spell, type in all caps, and then expect A's to be handed to them. Seriously, whoever has a problem writing 3 5-page papers about their major is lazy and stupid. If you were an AP or IB student in high school, then this class is as easy as it gets.

She is a really great teacher! If you want a teacher who will explain step by step and do multiple drafts to ensure a good grade then she is it!

Mrs. Pastor is uses the course outline done by the English Department that clearly explains the assignments. She explains the assignments very clearly. If one does not understand the assignment, then it is his/her responsibility to ask questions so as to gain clarity. She is a good lecturer, but sometimes she has bad, lazy students. I would take

Ms. Pastor is my favorite teacher I've had yet at ECU. I had her for English 1100 and English 1200. She tells you exactly what she expects from you and goes over everything that she wants you to do. Makes it very easy to make good grades, even though you earn the grades yourself! GREAT TEACHER I LOVE HER!

She is wonderful! She helps you step by step and is mainly concerned with the content of your papers! She isn't too hard on grading and wants everyone to do well in her class! She shows a lot of favortism. Tells you one thing then takes off points for doing what she told you to add to your paper. Will not work with you at all on our grades. If you make an 89.4 she will not give you an A. She is a nice lady just not a teacher willing to help students for all their effort they put in all semester.

Carla Pastor was a great teacher.She's the only English teacher who gives you extremely long periods to work on papers because she want you to get an A. I'm taking her next semester as well because she is so helpful.Plus she is extremely funny and loves to joke around.super chill class

I love mrs pastor!! i never got an A any high school english class but got an a in her class. its not an easy a though but most english classes arent. lots of writing but what can you expect from a WI class. she was very helpful for me & i actually learned how to write because she gave us outlines - told us exactly how to organize and write papers.

Ms. Pastor is awesome! She is very funny and smart. But, she is strict when it comes to writing papers. She explains the paper in steps, and guides you. She always gives a rubric, so you know how you are graded. She gets off topic sometimes which makes the class entertaining! Take her and enjoy a great learning and cultural experience.

One of the best professors I have ever had. She is funny and makes class enjoyable. She is very willing to help you but you have to go to her, she will not come to you. Ms. Pastor has an accent, not everyone in America has the same accent! It is our responsibility to asks questions if the instructions are unclear. Yes, Mrs. Pastor has an accent but I have never had a hard time understanding her. She is the best English teacher I have ever had. She goes through your assignments step by step for you and is always willing to help. If you let her help you, you will do great in the class! Class was extremely informative! If you come to class, read assignments, and participate you will receive a good grade. Ms. Pastor is very clear in her instructions. She is easy to understand and funny. You have to go to several outside events which are annoying, but her class is really easy and no tests, just quizzes and the final.

(English 2201) Hands-down the funniest professor at ECU. There was never a depressing moment in this class. If she tell you to include something in your paper DO IT. Take advantage of the conferences she setup for you. Overall great class! Some people did not like it but I could relate to her personality.

Brilliant instructor! I'm a much better writer because of her! Come to every class, read course syllabus and handouts. She expects students to give 100%! You will work for your grade, but you will learn skills that will help you for a lifetime.

Ms. Pastor is a great teacher. She has an accent but she states many times that if you don't understand, ask. 3 papers usually about 3-5 pages long, but she gives you a lot of time to do them in and out of class. Very helpful. Mrs. P is a great teacher. you can tell she genuinely cares about her students and their success. She is a bit extra at times but that's just because she is trying to prepare her students in the best way possible for the future.

I love Ms. P!!! She is from Belize so she has many great stories that she loves to tell the class. She can be a bit crazy at times but she truly wants each and every one of her students to succeed. Since this is a writing intensive course, we would work on our papers IN CLASS everyday and she would come around to each desk and help us out. love her

Ms. P is an amazing instructor. She is so passionate about her job. She demands that her students work hard for the grade. Some people claim that her rubric is unclear when she uses rubrics created by the department! Every class she asks many times if people have questions. If you do not understand, you can ask for clarity. Love her class!

If anyone who has given a poor rating then that is purely on their end, she was a wonderful teacher and had a great sense of humor. Her accent is thick and she tells students within the first week of classes that if they find it a problem to drop. Her assignment instructions were clear and writes it with class. Would take this class again 10/10 :)

AMAZING! I have learned so much about writing from Ms. P. She demands that her students work hard, but she is fair. I feel confident that I can write for any class because she taught me the tools to write in an academic environment. The fact that she cares about her students is a plus. She knows our names and makes us feel welcome.

Ms. P tells us in the very day of class that she has a thick accent; yet, she wouldn't mind repeating a statement more than once so that everyone understands what she's saying. Class is not well-structured as she doesn't follow syllabus because she wants the class to be based on students' needs. Go to class! Listen to feedback! A very fair grader.

Whoever wrote bad things about Ms. P is an idiot. Ms. P is so sweet and very clear with instructions, do not skip class or else it will make it harder to pass because we are busy every day. Make sure you write your essays on time and do your peer review. Very organized class.

Mrs. Pastor is a great professor who challenges you to give your best effort. She expects the most from you with every assignment, making you a far better writer and researcher than you were before you took her class. I'm surprised to see some bad reviews here. If you do what is asked of you in this course, you can be successful in her course.

Pastor cares so much about her students. she is so understanding of things going on in her students' lives and truly wants them to be successful. Being a professor is not just a job for her. I love her and would love to take her again!

I loved mrs pastors class. She had many open discussions, loved class participation and genuinely wants her students to succeed!

I learned so much from this course. Professor P wants you to succeed, and as long as you participate and show up to class she will really like you. We only had a few quizzes, one presentation, and she tells you exactly what will be on the final. It was overall very easy and as long as you put in effort and show her you care you will do good.

I had Carla Pastor for English 2201 Writing About the Disciplines. Very writing intensive, but I improved my technical writing skills. Be prepared to spend a ton of hours doing work. Try to work ahead as much as possible, no late submissions. Got good feedback and the grading criteria was clear. I got an A.

Ms. P is absolutely amazing. She was super caring and clear about what she wanted from us. I learned so much from this class and I would love to take her again. Definitely communicate with her about anything because she will work with you if something comes up and participate! in! class! She loves in class discussions!

Professor Pastor is passionate about her students' success, though her teaching style can be unorganized at times. The workload is manageable with proper time management. Unstuck ai helped me stay on top of assignments and prepare for exams.

Easy just write all of your papers and follow the rubric.

Professor Pastor is caring and really wants you to grow as a writer. Her class can be frustrating and confusing at times, but she gives great feedback and pushes you to improve. She's funny, engaging, and as long as you do the work and take her comments seriously, you'll be fine.
