Great Professor. A really nice guy. Helps you out any way that he can and listens to your ideas for class. Very well organized and very, very, smart.

Awesome professor. Not too boring, especially for being ancient history. Just read the book before quizzes. Notes available online to print out (helps follow lectures and prepare for quizzes). The extra credits are also easy. I got over 100% in the course

Terrific professor to teach this class. Print out his notes before class-he uses Powerpoint. If History isn't your thing, take Dr. White's class-he makes it interesting. Opportunity for extra credit, too!

He is always smiling! Read the text and the quizzes should be easy. Tests are just as easy as the quizzes if you study the material. He loves what he teaches and is always a happy face to see.

You can tell he loves history. Mainly lecture; it's hard to keep track of everything he includes in his lectures, but he tells stories as examples, which is a definite PLUS.

This class is impossible to stay awake in. All he does is lecture with powerpoints which are on the I drive. Make sure you read before quizzes. Tests are moderatly easy gives huge study guide before so know everything on them

All he does is stand in front of the class and lectures. Quizzes and tests are mainly from the book. Easy to pass, plus he gives xtra credit.

Will put you to sleep. Lots of reading but as long as you read and pay attention most of the time you will be okay. Quizzes once a week.

OK, it is an easy class, if you dont mind the reading. All of his notes are on the power point and he goes over EVERYTHING you need for the test. Tests arent bad, quizzes arent bad. Should pass with an A or B. But someone PLEASE buy this man a watch!!

Liked him as prof. Doesn't let you out on time, almost ever (as in always late to next class). Has TONS of weekly reading for weekly quizzes. Quizzes tend to be T/F. Doesn't do trick questions. Would take him again. I thought I'd love the class, but I think it sucked.

Easy, Willing to help you in office hours anytime. Class is boring, but not to bad. Alot of reading, but thats standard in history. You can just encarta everything on his review sheets. TESTS ARE EXTREMELY EASY. take him, he is the nicest professor on campus

Easy class, but very VERY boring. Has a tendancy to ramble, but all in all, he's good. Tests and quizzes are easy. Don't take at 8am unless you indend to fall asleep within the first five minutes of class.

Slides on I-drive (print off and add in class) Some say an ez A...I didn't think so! Readings are long and will put you to sleep along with class. LOTS OF INFO!!! He'll make you late for ur next class.

He's a decent teacher. Weekly quizzes to make sure you're reading (They are mult. choice, not t/f!). They can be tricky, but the test seemed to be easier than the quizzes! He does keep you late, but did specify you can leave if you have to so you're not late for your next class. Overall, not bad considering the subject!

real nice guy gives quizzes once a week on some reading..they're easy quizzes and gives easy tests...no cumulative final...does want to see his students do good

Class is very very boring. Keeps you 5 minutes past the time every single class. A weekly quiz is given that can be rather difficult so you have to read. Exams are very easy and no reason why you shouldnt get an A. Nice guy, just a little boring. Extra Credit is given 3 times througout the course.

Ok, yeah the class is boring at times but for a history class, its the most interesting one youre going to get. As long as you do a half hearted job of studying for tests and quizzes, you'll be fine. He also has 3 different bonus opportunities and theyre not hard at all!! I recommend Dr. White if you need a history class

Absolutely the nicest professor on campus. He's EXTREMELY boring and will never let you out of time, but the class is worth taking regardless. You learn so much and he's willing to help you out at every opportunity. Highly recommended!

Dr. White is easily the nicest professor on campus. He's willing to help out and he offers a few extra credit opportunities. Read the chapters for the weekly quizzes and study your notes for the test and you can't go wrong.

Dr. White gives a TON of extra credit and tries to make class interesting by adding in interesting tidbits you won't find in the book. He's very nice, although sometimes it bothers me that he's so damn perky at 8:00! The material is easy; I have a natural aptitude for history, but study and read your text and you'll be fine.

Dr. White is such a nice proffesor! His class is very boring but he is very into what he teaches. I had absolutely no interest in the class but I really enjoyed having him as a professor. He will do anything to help you out!

Great teacher...talks a lot because he loves what he teaches. The class runs over a lot but the tests aren't to hard. Read for every quiz they are kind of tricky.

Carlis is amazing! If you get old notes/quizzes from someone its the easiest class in the world because he doesn't update them. You can tell he really loves his job and is one of the nicest profs on campus!

I loved this class! Teaches like every Prof should! Really easy quiz each week that helps your grade and helps you with exams. Very good class and easy to get a good grade.

He is great, do the readings and use his study guides for tests. He does run a lil over most of the time. Medium amount of work for an A.

Yes, he's hard, but he's one of the most understanding and knowledgeable teachers I've ever had. If you don't understand the material - ask him, he will explain it to you until you do. Best history teacher I've ever had.

Dr. White is an amazing professor. I took his 151 class before I became a History major and got pretty bored because I knew it already. But all the upperlevel classes were amazing. I just wish he taught more of them! He was always so helpful and took time out of his schedule to answer questions. He's one of the best on campus and makes me miss SRU.

What a sweet man. The class was pretty easy (Rome in Film). No tests. 4 papers and a final. Not heavily research-based. Class lectures can be boring, but we did see a lot of interesting films, and he provided a good historical perspective on each one. Highly recommended.

And you need the textbook because the quizes are based off the easy readings.

Dr. White is exceptional. He really wants to see you do well and he knows his material. Even though this deals with the Bible (he being a former minister) he takes a completely objective view point and really examines leading arguments from a unbiased perspective. He is an excellent professor, but avg. grades are not A's. He has high standards.

Great professor. Extremely knowledgeable and unbiased. Tough tests, and a hard grader. Good students were getting 50s-60s on the first couple tests. To pass: attend class, take notes, study. This isn't stuff you learned at church. Dr. White is awesome, funny, very helpful, and reasonable. No homework, just 1 paper at the end.

He gives an online quiz each week with assigned readings and all of the answers are in the book so they're not bad. The tests are tough, I failed the first one because I didn't print out his notes. Overall he is a great guy and you can tell he is passionate about everything. You will have to work for your grade... I just have no interest in history

Weekly reading assignments & online quizzes. 4 multiple choice exams. 3 discussion boards. 2 extra credit papers, no required papers. Dr. White's focus is ancient Middle East & Med. He knows his stuff and runs long because of it. Do not take him if your next class is on upper campus! Has a million dad jokes for history nerds.

Dr. White is a really sweet guy and obviously loves teaching. Egyptology sounded like a cool class& the material is really awesome but there are 2 exams and a 10 page paper. So you have to be willing to put in some work. If you attend class, listen, and take notes on the lecture notes, you would be fine. He offers extra credit if you're struggling!

probably the best professor i've ever had. a gifted orator and exceptional person, any class you take of his he will make interesting. only ever knew one person who got on his bad side, and that's because they'd leave his class halfway through every day.

Dr. White was a really great professor. He made a topic that seemed really boring, extremely interesting. As long as you pay attention and study, you'll get that easy A. He's very passionate about what he teaches to his students and is so smart in the topic. I would definitely take him again!

White is like a nice, old, funny uncle. His lectures keep you interested and as long as you pay attention and do a bit of reading, thing will make sense. Most of the grades are based on online quizzes and exams. If you need help with anything outside of class, he's happy to help. He also reenacts some stuff in class sometimes and its fantastic.

He is the best teacher in the department. Class is solely lecture based, but the lectures are very intersting. He leaves room for questions during class time. Outside of class he is approachable and friendly. Grades come from two tests and a paper, and a study guide is offered for both tests. Ancient Rome and Greece are taught the same way.

Yes it is lecture heavy but he provides outlines of the lecture online. He does take attendance but I don't believe it will effect you unless you constantly skip. He is very caring and will always allow you to meet with him during office hours. Just study the notes and re-read the book and you'll pass his class.

Dr. White loves what he does. His lectures are really interesting and he gives you outlines to them, but it's up to you to show up to class and actually take notes to the detail he provides, which will probably be on the test. He has weekly online quizzes that are really easy, which are a step down from how difficulty of the tests.

He truly gives it his all to make this class interesting, acknowledging the fact that it is a 100 level class and lots of people are taking it as a liberal studies requirement - not necessarily actual history majors. Very caring man and super passionate! I have nothing but good to say about this man. If you study for tests, you will easily pass.

Boring class but goes over everything you need to know. I found reading the textbook extremely helpful. The most important thing is to pay attention to the study guide because that is exactly the outline of the tests. He offers extra credit and has graded discussions. Overall not a bad teacher and personable. Just actually do the work.

Nice guy and loves what he teaches but his class was so unbearable. You have to be really interested in the material beforehand to do well i feel like. His notes are outlines and you have to listen carefully to write down information. His exams are super hard. Quizzes aren't bad. His discussions are graded hard. I had to drop the class.

Dr. White is an awesome prof who knows his stuff. His lectures can be a little dry at times and uses a lot of filler words. Why does he use them? "Well, we just don't know". Only three assignments, 2 tests and a paper, but makes sure you have what you need to be successful as long as you put the time in. Use the study guides, no book required.

Dr. White is my favorite because of his personality. I did not love the topic that I was in but he really knew what he was talking about and makes jokes. A few papers and tests but quizzes every week. Super understanding and caring!!

He is a very caring professor. Class was all online. Try to participate during class. Lecture material was heavy but need to take broad notes in order to pass class. I made flashcards for every exam set up just like the study guides. Easy A if effort is put into class.

Hardest class I've ever taken, but that doesn't mean it's the worst. Completely changed my view of college from "I've gotta get A's" to "C's get degrees." It is okay to miss a few classes here and there, just stay on top of the outlines and test review sessions and you will pass. He is very approachable.

He is very lecture heavy and notes are a must but the exams aren't awful. He can ramble sometimes and lets class out a few minutes late but he is a really nice guy and a great professor.

Dr. White is intentional in his lectures. As long as you take notes, go to class, do the study guides, 'and so on and so forth,' you will be fine. Use the lecture outlines and add additional info to the Word doc (or print if prefer). Useful and direct study guides. Very helpful in office hours. Wants student success!

I love him. He only gives lectures, but it's history, so it's hard to teach it any other way. This is actually the second class I took with him because I love it. He gives you the lecture outlines and you just have to write down the other things he tells you in the lecture. As long as you listen and pay attention, you'll pass.

Dr. White is a great teacher and very good at his job. I am not very good at history, but he makes it very easy to understand. My grade was not the best, but he still helped me achieve the grade I got. Office hours help, papers are not bad at all.
