PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. NO NEED TO BUY THE BOOK, TESTS ARE TRICKY IF YOU DONT PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS.
This guy LOVES to talk--about his personal life more than about computer science. He's a nice guy but his lectures and practice projects are fairly easy to follow, but don't prepare you for the tests. If you ask him a yes or no question, he goes off on a 5 minute analogy that has no point to it. It is SO annoying!
Professor Amaya loves to talk about everything but computers. His class is easy if you are already famliar with computers programs such as excel, word, paint and power point. He has multiple choice quizzes, midterm and final. He will also test you on your knowledge of all the different programs by making you do different tasks on each program
Easy class to take. I learn a few tricks and some new techniques on Microsoft that I have not thought off.
AMAZING TEACHER!he is very funny,tends to relate math to food:-)u need to do the hw and go to every class & ask questions,he likes that.midterms and final are from the quizzes & quizzes are from hw. overall, he is a good teacher,just ask for help when u need it.really funny & sweet person,loves sports(hint to get on his good side)awesome professor!
Professor Amaya really took the time to explain each topic in great detail. This is not something that all professors will do. He taught at a good pace and engaged the class with discussion and questions. Prof Amaya is not an easy "A". You'll definitely have to study but you'll come out of the class really knowing a lot.
Professor Amaya is the coolest professor ever! He taught me a new F word, Factor. He would say, "Factor this! Factor that! You bunch of Mother Factors!" And you know what? I never realized how much factoring is needed in math. If it wasn't for his love and concern for students especially for me, I would have never passed Math 091 and Math 102!
I thought I was not going to like more math. Then saw him teach and I like it enough to finaly make it through my math requirement. He told us, do homework, come to class and ask questions. It works. Thanks
he is hot, and he teaches pretty good Easy A and plus very boring he likes to talk about food eating and he eats in class like a pig and he doesnt allow us to eat or drink in class. If you want an easy A get him
Professor Amaya is a really fun professor but at the same time he knows his stuff. It's hard to understand what he says b/c of his thick accent but you adapt. Quizzes are kinda hard but just study, do the hw, and pass the Final and you should be able to pass
He didnt explained well enough for me to understand and also I didnt learned much from that class. I have to learn by myself to get in understand and make sense. He doesn't care much. Not recommend!! Boring.
He is so confusing. I payed attention took notes and did not pass. He did not explain things well enough and when asked to explain better he said you should kno this. He goes by so fast during the hour and 40 mins you r wit him
I took this class many times before. I finally passed. Professor Amaya make things so easy, his test come straight from lecture or homework. Will recommend anytime.
After taking Amaya, I wish he would teach us math 91. He made us work hard, but now in 91, I am confused with the new teacher. Amaya is good, make you do work and you learn.
I just wanted to pass the class for the third time. He promised that the final was to be similar to the two midterms and IT was. I got a B. If you study as he tells you two hour per hour of instruction, you pass.
I'm terrible at math, I had to put a lot of time into this course you wouldn't believe. Turns out, if you listen to him and do all your work, you'll pass! The tests are verbatim to your homework and lecture notes. Just do ALL of your hw, study, ask questions, and you should pass. He's a great teacher, you just have to ask questions to clarify.
I would recommend this class to people who like to learn on their own. If math isn't you're favorite subject (hence, you will need to study more than usual), I suggest a different professor. Prof Amaya has different methods from the book and it gets REALLY confusing.
His class was really awesome. I really enjoyed his class because he compared the lessons with real life situations or life in general. He was really funny by the way. Things you would typically do in his class is notes homework from the book(the prime #'s) do math xl, study and you will pass his class because i did.
You cant understand his lectures, his quizzes are chosen based off the most difficult problems on the homework (Ones that no one in their right mind would put on an exam). If you're the type of student that enjoys studying 15 hours a week, understanding nothing from class, and learning on your own while getting a 'C' at the end, then take him!!!
HORRIBLE TEACHER! Although he has a good personality and is funny....he is horrible at teaching. Spends class time talking about his life experiences rather than teaching :(
Professor Amaya made us work hard on math 104B and now is paying off on math 206. I hated it while taking 104B, but he was right, now 206 is very easy. Even if I got only a C on the class, I worked hard, but I learned. Happy I took him. BTW if you are lazy, lol, don't take him.
He is a horrible teacher. he doesnt help with anything and is very lazy. He uses the ex. in the book to explain in his lectures. i would not recommend taking this class at ALL!!!

He does a great job taking complex math problems and breaking them into parts- he also pushes you to discover flaws in your math foundation. Ideal instructor if your going on to higher level math courses you should not take him if you want an easy passing grade or lazy.

professor amaya is awesome. he has an interesting method of teaching which forces you to think. not so easy but he is helpful if you go to his office hours. get through him and next class will be easier.
Never had a teacher this serious about learning. Wish other teachers were like this. He will inspire you to work harder than you ever did. Also, gave study guides and exams were fair. If you messed up, its you're fault. Prof Amaya isnt teaching 3rd grade here so others should grow up and take responsibility.
I enjoyed the class and learn a lot. I hope he was teaching math 207. If you want to learn take him, he would make you work, but you will be happy in the next level.
Rude and unhelpful. doesn't know how to explain the material will only say read the book. even in office hours he wont help. Low class, no manners, unprofessional. Take anyone else. This guy is the worst.
Gave similar problem on test to the one done in class or homework. Make you work hard for your grade but worth it. Take him if you want to learn.
Made us read the book. Gave us a study guide but we had to find problems on the book and think about them. WOW many of them were on the final. I finally got to read math books.
People need to stop spending time complaining and start studying. This guy is good. He just doesnt let you slide like a lot of others do. This was my 3rd time taking 109 and I am finally getting the material. He explains well and gives really good examples. Take him!
I got the grade that I expected with the time I spend doing homework. I should have paid more attention in class. I would have easily got an A.
There is no way I will complain about his method of teaching. He is better than the one I took before. I followed his advice, and I did passed. Listen, do your work, math is not easy, so you have to study. Take him, he will make you laugh, and understand.
Professor Amaya was one is one of those teachers who teach everything from the textbook and use none of their own examples. Class isn't mandatory because you can teach yourself from home, which is what I practically did. He is at times condescending and rude. 5 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final.
Great class. Explain very well, use examples from the book and the test was similar to some problems in the book. I like his attitude and way of teaching.
Terrible teacher. His accent makes it hard to understand. He teaches straight off the book and expects you to understand right away. Tests are different from homework problems. He gets distracted very easily and begins talking about his family.
Expects a lot from you. In a few weeks he challenge you a lot. Be ready to study, not easy to get an A. If you are lazy, stay away.

HORRIBLE teacher. Talked about the Dodgers for the first 5 weeks.. No examples with numbers. Everything is read of off the powerpoints. Always goes off topics and does not spend time reviewing for quiz, test, or midterm. It's like an english class. Excepts too much without explaining problems.
One of those professors that is extremely knowledgeable, but does not know how to teach! I came for stats knowing that I was good at math, but his way of grading and teaching is very frustrating. Reads off of the slides and can't articulate what he's trying to teach. WARNING: If you need to take stats, take someone else!
The easiest grade you will ever get. Unless you are that lazy to read. He even tell you what he is expected and will be on the test. His English might not be that good, but they are others worst.
When I came to his office hours he just started reading the textbook to me. Yea.. its that bad.
Thank gawd I had taken stats. in high school, or else I wouldn't even understand what he is saying. Every lecture is a powerpoint, which is always almost directly quoting the book. His exams are almost impossible to get an A on; if you aren't ready for exams without extra credit or study guides, get another prof. Homework doesn't help to understand
Great class. No much math, a lot of definitions. Easy to pass, if you do the homework, and like to read.
I had pretty good math teacher's in the past, so maybe that's the reason I think he's not so great. No study guide. Rarely gives partial credit on test answers and their often tricky. Asking questions=more confusion. Very OLD SCHOOL. Goodluck everyone.. including myself.

This guy tell you like it is. If you ask him a question, he will tell you the page number where to find the answer. LOL. He is telling you to read, since is part of any course you take in college. Of course, I did not want to read. He gets pay to tell me the definitions, why should I read them.

5 quizzes 2 test 4 assignments, everything this guy ask come from the assigned homework. If you do the homework, you should pass.
No wonder this man make you read the book. His questions are exactly like the example on the book and homework. Of course he changes the numbers. Too easy for me. Of course I hate for some one to force me learn.
He would help ou on anything you ask. But don't come unprepared or ask about a problem you have not tried on your own. Read the book because he would make you make look at similar problem to see how. Have fun.

I am writing to say Thank You to Mr. Amaya for doing a great job teaching me Math 105 Mr. Amaya contributes immensely to East Los Angeles college by developing curriculums and providing instructional support which are excellent, if I had to rate him I give him a 9.5. NO one is a 10.
He is a good professor, because he knows his material. He knows math very well, but personally his teaching methods were not helpful to me. He tends to jump from one spot to another of a problem. He can be helpful to those who don't like to memorize formulas, but instead know how to come up with them. He grades extremely.
AVOID HM! It is not necessary to attend class because all he does is show power-points, and his powerpoints are the same exact pictures from the book. Second day of class he expects you to know what we were doing. He is sarcastic but in a rude manner. He makes you feel uncomfortable when you ask him a question. He goes way to fast on powerpoints
By far the worst math class I have ever taken. I believe he knows his study very well but the way he teaches the material is like you've learned it 3 times before. It feels as if he's trying to impress his students on how fast he can slove the problems... but the problem is the students don't have a clue from how he got from point A to point B.
First class I have been force to read a book. Tough grader, but at the end you are ready for math 204 and had a EASY time on 204. The class was easy since I learned very much in 104A of course. The class is just a review of 104A. I would take him any time, he is very good and funny.
This was basically a review class. Of course you are expected to know the basics so the class can be smooth. Make us read the book, the book has very few examples and problems, so we had to find other books to complement it. Otherwise the class is easy. Test come from either his lectures or book examples. I love his connection to real life.
I wish he would teach math 204. I enjoyed him in math 105 and learn a lot. Now I wish his motivation was here. Carlos teach with such emotions that you might think he is crazy or too loud, but kept me awake, now, I am bored and getting behind. Miss his loud, awakining lectures.
You have to teach yourself everything. read the book. go to class. pay attention. he teaches you the basics that you need to comprehend the book
If I was to give him a ranking from 1 to 10, I would give him a 8. He is very good, he spends a lot of time on his office, come prepare when asking questions, write them down, he will make them clear. A very nice person to deal with. But demand your understanding. Be ready to work.

This really was a review class with word problems. If you enjoyed them, you will have an easy time, if you hate to read, you are in for a long haul. Great teacher.

He's a sarcastic and funny guy at times. Not a good math teacher he goes way to fast, you don't have to go to class the power points are online. Gives a quiz once a week. I've never failed a class in my life until I took this class. If you hate math you'll DEFIANTLY HATE this class.
He goes by fast and expects you to know everything from one example. Tests and quizzes make up the majority of the grade and homework is online. Don't do homework last minute! Very confusing and stressful. Pass the final and he'll give you a passing grade. Attendance and participation are taken into consideration for final grade.

Simply the best. Make you laugh, make you cry, but if you study his notes, you will pass. Make sure you understand his homework, he changes the question though, but otherwise, easy to pass and you learn.
Professor Amaya is the best! He really does care for all of his students and wants all of his students to pass. Expect to read the textbook and online homework. There are two midterms and one final, which is easy because he gives a study guide. His office hours are extremely helpful and a good way for him to see that you are trying.
AVOID HIM IF YOU CAN! worst class I had. He just reads of the powerpoints and he goes fast. When you ask questions in class it just confuses you more. He has weekly quizzes which were difficult. Buy the book it really helps!
You should take him if you want to learn something. Actually, his class is real ez but you just got to study a little and prepare for the exams. All of his exams are just recycled problems he gave you before so if you can't pass the test you're a idiot.
My favorite professor & the best one I've had in all my school years. I've never met someone who cares so much for his students; he takes time out of his own schedule to help. He's definitely a great figure and will help you whenever you need it. Do NOT take him for granted he does truly cares. You will not regret taking his class, I promise.
Expect a lot of tests and homework not too hard and he is always there when you seek help. I took Professor Amaya this winter and he is seriously an amazing teacher he makes mistakes here and there, but he truly cares about the students and teaches you above what is required to really prepare you. You get tough love.

He provides all his powerpoints on moodle . quizzes and tests are very similar to homework. As long as you try and study you'll do great. Remember you get what you put into it!
I didn't do so well in his class, he doesn't really know how to put out the information but his quizzes and tests are easy, if you go to class you won't get it so i suggest you teach yourself and if you aren't willing to teach yourself then don't take him. I would try to avoid him.
A basic repetition of math 104a, only we had word problems. You have to read, read, because if you are lazy, all the problems look the same, but not really. He does his part to teach, you need to study, or you will be in trouble.

Read carefully his questions, very similar to quizzes and homework. Easy to get an A, if you study, easy to get an F, if you don't come to class. He presented what he expected you to know. Test had questions from lectures, only change the numbers, which was not fair, you can noot memorize answers.
Honestly one of the most difficult classes I had to take. You have to understand the concepts completely in order to pass the class, quizzes are based on the hw and he is a very tough grader- marks you down for little things. Even though i passed the concepts were not difficult but you have to review review review, do not study at the last minute.
Unfortunately I did not get a good grade in the class, but he makes you work really hard for it. Mr. Amaya is one hell of a comedian though! Since I know the expectations in his class, I honestly wouldn't mind taking him again.

Professor Amaya is old-school. I was used to coasting in my classes with others who graded on curves and didn't expect much of their students. This guy was the first one who actually made me learn the material and who had an expectation that I would learn it at an appropriate level. I'm really glad I took him. Not an easy A but well worth it.
I taking professor carlos two class now. I like he very friendly with the students and respecting. Teching is very good and methodical. I think people complained about him but they do not have right the attitude. I got A in 2 classes.
Want to learn? take him, want to just pass? no way, you have to learn something if you want to pass, not an easy passing grade, but for sure you learn something.
At first I was petrified of this guy but then i learned that he really does care about his students and will help you if you demonstrate that you're trying. He is very inspirational too. I would recommend him despite some of the negative reviews. Most likely, these were left by students who expected an easy grade. Math is hard. You have to work.
Professor Amaya is okay but his power points is literally the notes in the stats textbook. You'll basically be self-teaching yourself in this class. He says his test and quizzes will be one thing but it turns out completely different.

He's very nice etc but he's not specific on what needs to be done. Don't have your book by the first day? Don't bother taking the course impossible to catch up.
Took him for precalc for life sciences. This class was harder than calculus!(for me) Most would be outraged but I am thankful because stuff I learned in this class (especially function fundamentals) helped me get a good grade in calculus. Lots of HW, quizzes, 3 tests and a final. Stuff he reviewed in class was on the quizzes/ midterms.
Does not explain anything in detail . Expects you to know how to do everything coming into this class. Gets frustrated when you ask questions doesnt help in office hours tells you to look at the book even though you already did and your asking for clarification . Cares more about people passing by outside of the classroom
He is very vague when he teaches and does not clarify when you ask him. He doesn't prepare you well for his tests and when you go to him for office hours he tells you to read the book.
Here's some advice: READ THE BOOK. If you don't read it beforehand, you'll have no idea what he is talking about. He already doesn't teach well and when he does, it's hard to understand. He reads off his projector and all his hw is on Moodle, so if you miss it you miss the deadline for work. It's frustrating especially when you don't have access.
Coming to class is a plus. Everything you need to do to pass the class is done in class.
Very tough teacher but fair. He does not care for extra credit, what you give is what you get. Pay attention and do all the assignments, it will help you on the midterms. There are two midterms and a final project, there is also a final exam that is optional for you to take if you fail a midterm. Go to tutoring if you are not good at math.
Professor Amaya's class is very difficult. He is very vague during lecture and does not provide much, if any help if you go to office hours. I basically taught myself the material, with the help of the hints and explanations from the online homework. When you do go to his office hours he makes you feel dumb and acts like you should know everything.

I took him twice the class I took it with him I took it three times the first time with him the second time with somebody else and the third time with him again after taking the class for the third time I realize he was great he was doing a better job in explaining every topic the heat cover and make me realize that I have to learn from experience
Very vague and skimmed over topics in class that were then placed on tests and quizzes. I had to teach myself the material. In class he would make you feel dumb for asking questions and is was not approachable. He would go off topic and joke when the class became angry. I understand other classes were fine with him, but he was unbearable to me.
If you struggle with math then dont take him. His lectures dont really help. Its a course that you basically have to teach yourself to pass. Gets off topic and seems like it bugs him when students ask questions in his class.

No way you get someone as easy as him as grading goes. Give you partial credit for everything. WOW WOW if you donot pass her class, drop out of school since you are not even trying.
Basic algebra skills and know how to comprehend what they ask on word problems. This class is more reading then math, it is fun if you take your time and read the questions carefully.
one of the most arrogant professors ive ever had. he'll go over examples and won't explain a single part and when asked a question, he seems to get annoyed by it. he also brags A LOT. there is not a single class that goes by where he won't talk about how easy every problem is for him. he can't stand to be corrected either.
The class is just a review of prealgebra, only that word problems are a lot.
He goes by lectures too fast and it is so hard to understand him sometimes. He gives a lot of homework online which has nothing to do with the tests. When you ask him a question he sometimes does not even answer it right. I would NOT take him again. He is by far the worst math teacher I have ever taken.
Dont recommend to take this class ! He really does not know how to teach, he reads off his slides and expects you to understand it on your own ! I was confused the whole class and if you try to ask a question, he replied back with another question ! Hes not helpful at all !
Decent Professor but is a bit condescending. People hesitate to ask questions because he makes you feel dumb for asking them. Aside from that, he allows many opportunities to raise your grade.
He doesn't really teach. He just gives you a question and you respond to it and see if you're correct or not. It doesn't really help. He doesn't explain instructions correctly and it's all messed up/confusing. Don't take his class. It's honestly a waste of time and your money. He gets paid with his awful teaching while you're struggling to pass.
Avoid taking his class! By far one of the worst math professors I took. Does not explain the material well and expects you to fully understand. He does not explicitly explain when assignments are due so it is easy to fall behind.
Horrible. His lectures have no connection to hw. The hw he gives is completely unreasonable bc it takes at least 3hrs to complete bc 1 question alone has 5 parts to it. He randomly assigns hw the same day its due. He is very rude, hell ask for the answer but when we do he ignores/dismisses us. For group projects he cant help bc hes lost too.

HORRIBLE professor. he reads off his "lecture slides" as if everyone knows the material already. he teaches the class as if all his students took the course already. weekly quizzes worth 10% of your grade. will NEVER answer your question directly. Thanks to the way he teaches I was able to learn and also to learn on my own. I do not expect to learn from watching others. He used real life example to make connection. Love his style.
Proffessor Amaya is one tough cookie, but I appreciate how he related problems to real world situation. I did hate being in group because most students just wanted to copy and it drove me nuts, work for your grade. I was annoyed by other kids in class arguing and complaining, geez!!! The test are based on the book examples he assigns ... read!!!
Professor Amaya is tough grader. Ask lots of questions and do the work, it really helps with the test. Good thing to be of my peers told me to do the homework it really helped. He comes off as a strong stubborn guy, but if you are honest and reach out for help he really cares. His style reminds me of my military uncle.
Stay away from this class if you are not willing to put in the work to learn. Pro tip, do the work. Had him for two classes already once you get to know him he really cares and is a big softy. He won't show it. I can see the military reference from previous post.

Professor Amaya seems like a harsh person at first, but deep down he is not. If you ask for help and bbe real with him he really cares. He allowed me to retake quizzes to improve my grade.
As a former AP calculus student, I DO NOT recommend this class. He is hard headed and will make you feel dumb when you have a question. There will be quizzes that are timed during the first 15min of class. You will also have a lot of HW so be aware of that. I gave him a 2 because he did give us extra credit opportunities, but they were worth .3%.
Makes you work for your grade. Isn't the best at lecturing and explaining things, I taught myself almost everything. Honestly, if you reach out to him and build a connection with him, and show that you care about passing then he will help you. That's what I did. 10 bi-weekly quizzes on lectures, 2 group projects(big part of grade). Don't skip class
Professor Amaya is someone who has seen it all. His class style may not be for everyone, but it will work if you put in the effort. There are 15 standards to master, 9 to pass, and you must pass at least 2/5 attempts for each standard. As long as you complete the homework and participate in the iClickers, you will do well.
Professor Amaya is a character, to say the least. He talks a lot off-topic. You will have 15 standards throughout the semester, and you have to master 9 to get a C in the class. If you are having trouble with the standards, go to the plus sessions they will help you. They will also help you with the TAMs.
Professor Amaya is hard but you actually learn. He made me work for my B. I decided to visit him during office hours and he had patience and helped me understand. I wish I would have gone to ask for help sooner rather than later. Ask questions during office hours!

Although it is tough to see by most in class, Professor Amaya is a very caring guy. He just doesn't like to waste time. Go into his office hours for help, but make sure you actually study. Funny how everyone bashes him online but every time I would attend class or office hours no one seemed to have studied at all. What do you expect an A, hah!
I totally misjudged this professor, He really cares. You can learn a lot from him just don't take him if you are not willing to put in the work. It's math you won't learn anything by procrastinating. He gives lots of work, but attend his office hours and you'll be fine.
This professor has trouble lecturing and making his students understand the material. He gives a question without profoundly getting into detail step by step and expects us, students, to learn through just reading. He is a tough grader. You most likely will be self-taught for this class. Also, attendance is mandatory. Don't come and you will fail.
Professor Amaya is very caring. His quizzes were very easy and what helped me was his practice problems.
Take professor will help, go to office hours, ask questions.
Easy class
There was a lot of assignments which really do help your grade. The biggest downfall is that he is VERY strict on deadlines. I had technical issues with the proctoring site, which is on me, and I get that.
Too many quizzes. Every week there are two quizzes. If you do not read and have time to study everyday, you will not pass. Otherwise easy as easy can be, A all the way.
Pretty much he doesn't teach in class, you WILL be learning on your own. Expects you to know everything off the bat. I don't expect to pass the class, definitely think I'll have to retake it. Waste of time, find a good tutor. Obnoxiously bangs and smacks tables and walls during "lecture" for no reason. AVOID HIM AS A TEACHER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
He is very rude and disrespectful, don't take him if you can.

Your grades are based on test and participation, participation is completed within the first 10 weeks (maybe less) No finals or Midters, you have 2 tests a week. Attendance doesn't matter, when you show up it's basically just reviewing last weeks test and you leave early on test days. tests are open note so its easy to pass the class.
If you aren't good at math, do not take him. He does not explain very good and goes offtopic a lot. His homework and quizzes were extremely easy as you could take them whenever you wanted. It was also easy to get his participation points as long as you did most of his assignments early on then you did not have to worry about them.
This professor is VERY strict with grading.. He teaches well, but he can be disorganized and stubborn. He does usually does not answer questions students ask, he will get annoyed going over things that he thinks students should know already.
HORRIBLE professor, He was always very rude when I approached him to ask him questions or when he graded my quizzes he would leave rude comments. Non-approachable. He slams desks and yells all the time. I would not recommend it, and I always attended his lecture and never had a day I missed, and did not help me at all.
I'm actually taking him for 1081 it just wouldn't let me chose that option. Avoid this professor like the plague. His teaching isn't helpful and he's very arrogant. Won't even let you use a calculator cause "he doesn't believe in them."
Please don't take his class. I cannot understand his class. He doesn't let you use calculators, he teaches like he's the only person there. When you ask a question he goes off topic. He is rude, whenever you ask him about an error he made he says he will fix it, but never does. Never missed class and had to teach myself everything
I do not recommend this professor at all, Honestly don't know how he has a degree and is a professor. He slams the tables, leave rude comments on quizzes, doesn't teach, doesn't explain. I regretted taking his class all through my semester. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!
They gave us the questions to the quizzes and how to answer them. You had to read the scenario and comprehend accordingly to the questions
If you want to learn, take him, otherwise you are not going to pass. He pushes us to learn, with no calculator.
The attendance in Carlos's class was not mandatory. But if you did not attend you were not going to learn on your own. Many topics were covered, and the class was coordinated. The professor did not make quizzes or exams, they were the same for the classes only the numbers were changed. Easy class
Really? my math classes in high school were more difficult than this. I lost interest in math and did not attend class. I pass.
Easy class. Free book. No attendance is required. Only midterm and final has to show up. Everything else is online. If you can read and understand the material you can stay home and pass. Great class
You should know he gives a lot of quizzes.
The class was challenging, but using unstuck AI and the free textbook really helped me stay on top of the material. The professor can be blunt, but the quizzes and assignments were manageable if you put in the work. Overall, a tough but manageable class.
