Makes the subject very clear, gives a lot of notes, and pre-tests that don't affect your grade. Pretty easy overall.

I love him, I'm currently taking him and getting A in all tests. You need to do all the HW and the pretests, it is impossible to get a C with him unless you never open your math textbook.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

it was my 3rd time taking mac1105(i know is sick for not passing it the first time) I got a C as my final grade in a 6week summer term. His HW and pretest do help a lot.!!!

This guy has to be to best teacher in MDC. He helps you any time any day out of the week. Explains everything very clear. He post reviews for all his test. He is a proffesional. He is taking a break starting next semister (2006-1) hopefully he will be back soon.

Great teacher, he is available to help students anytimes and also on weekends, he gives a lot of extra credit to help students, very professional, he does know his subject well.

I highly reccomend this professor for statistics. I'm like the worst person in math, I was able to pass. You still have to study since day one, but he helps you a lot.

Passed class with a C. I found the subject to be a bit difficult but with more studying might have found it easier. If you're failing the class he will give you what you get on the Final. I got a C in the class. I started off really bad in the class, but got it in the end. I probably could have done better in the beginning had I studied and asked for a little help. But in the end I got it. He's very helpful and fun in class. He knows his stuff. He's available for help. Cool guy. Definitely recommend him.

Great Professor, very helpful. He has his own website that is very helpful and videos on problems. His lectures are quick, but not as organized. So make sure to take GOOD notes, and do all the practice homeworks from the website, his test are based on the hwks. you will do great!

Dr.Canas is a very easy going person. He likes to joke around too. At first he seems to teach kind of fast, but his website canaslearningcenter.com (full of math videos) is a HUGE help!Make sure you view those videos.Overall the class is not super hard, but requires lots of studying. He likes students to participate in class, so sit up front!

Dr. Canas is a very knowledgeable person. He really makes you understand the material and makes it seem super easy for the students. He is also very accesible, you can arrange to meet before class and study for the exam. I highly recommend him for anybody who really wants to learn, but if you are a slacker, you may want to find an alternative.

Professor Canas is great, he really helps you if your in need. He makes time before class to tutor his students who need extra help. I can truly thank him for helping me understand Algebra. I've heard horror stories from other students who took Algebra with different professors. If you can, take this guy he's great.

Online you are on your own, good luck trying to get a hold of him. He really does try though to communicate with you but he takes really long. He really does care and try to help you out when you have questions or concerns. If you want to pass Statistics Take Him, you will pass, and actually learn the material. I do recommend him! i am to take him online.Can someone pls tell me how many test/exams in his class. Is midterm and final proctored or can it be taken anywere? Does he skip the final for online with good grades?

Quizzes and HW is online. Alot of HW on mymathlab.com but he is forgiving with most quizzes as you can take all but one twice online. the final is proctored but the review he gives is a good idea of whats on the final. Not a hard class you just have to do the work.

Online course: Canas was extremely helpful through out the course. He sent us videos of him actually explaining the work to us before the tests which helped out a lot. The homework is a must especially if you want an A in the class. Do it. You will thank me later. Final is proctored.

Take him!!! I failed before and got a B this time. This professor cares!!! My class ended at 10pm and he would stay after just to help students. He gives you many examples and explains how the math can be applied in real life. Reviews before test. Don't buy the book. The way he explain things is totally different from the book and others teachers.

Lets be clear Stat has kick my butt, this is my third time taking it :( But This teacher is awesome!! . The class itself helps you to complete the homework that at the same time prepares you for the test . Be aware you would need to study(know the formulas- u can use the book 1 :( ) in order to solve the test (they may be only 10 questions).

He is one of the best professors I have came across for math. He is a bit delayed on responding to emails, but it's barable. Very clear grading criteria. Just do the work and you'll get an A!

He is very clear and do not lecture for hours, he do plenty of exercices in class,If he sees the effort he will go out of his way to help you! lot of homework but that's the right method to learn and memorize, participation may count for xtra credit pts.

He helps you to better understand material, his tests are multiple choice so you're more likely to perform better, and the reviews for his exams are great because as long as you practice the reviews, you're guaranteed to pass. He is a great professor that gives reviews that look almost identical to the actual test. This class is not an easy A (Most math class aren't) but the work is extremely easy if you study the review that he gives for every test. He even tutors right before class for an entire hour. If you put in the effort you will easily get an A.

Great teacher, but I feel like he doesn't understand how to use these online programs like mathlab where the homework is assigned, they rarely felt like the same material we were going over in class. Gives Good study guides before each exam. Study guides have harder questions than the exams.

I took this class in a 6weeks. This professor tries to help you get as much extra cefit as possible to pass this class. Take notes and pay attention to " this will be on your test", because it will be. Know you statistical definitions.

Prof. Canas cares about his students, and will go over a problem with out an attitude if a student does not understand. He is very patient with his students he doesn't overload his students with the mandatory online homeworks.

Professor Canas is funny and knows math very well, do not be afraid to ask questions. Strong accent but you could follow what he is saying. Come to class on time, do MyMathLab, and do the study guides. I took him for a 16-week night course & got a B. Just study!

I truly enjoyed Professor Canas' stats class. As someone who isn't great at math, he really tries his best to break down challenging topics and theories, making it understandable. He truly cares and he wants his students to pass. During the COVID19 transition to virtual classes, his lectures were still spot on. Take him! Highly recommend.

This class that I take is very complicated as I thought it would be. However, I am starting to like this course. This professor likes to hum or sing himself during his lectures, and he's a humorous person. Like it or not, this math course may stress you out, but once you learn these formulas, you could get better in math. So choose him. Believe me.

Went back to school after many years. I was worried this class would be very difficult, but Professor Canas made fun & interesting. I enjoyed his lectures because of his application to real-life situations. He made it easy to understand. The key to his class is taking good notes. & listen to the lecture recordings.

I would definitely recommend taking him. Really all you have to do is get your assignments done for each module and do the tests that are proctored. Attendance is mandatory and he will grade you on it. Most of assignments are also on Pearson. This class is fairly easy if you just get your work done and pay attention to the lectures.

Great course, prepare to study because the majority of your grade depends on Proctored Midterm and Proctored Final. If you do the work on connect math, learn the material. Then you can pass the class.

Very good professor. Provides everything you would need for an exam and does practice tests with you during class if you have any questions on completing certain problems. I am doing a mini term so, only four exams and chapters to complete course (4-8 hw assignments each chapter). Take notes on formulas given and talk to him if needed; he helps!!

The class is 80% quizz graded, but he gives all the necessary preparation for the quizzes. You have access to lots of videos explaining each theme and also pre tests that, if you study them, almost guaranteed 100% when you take the real test. I really recommend it, he is a person that knows what he is doing and his lectures were amazing.

Professor Canas was amazing in my summer term. He helped me out a lot with understanding the material and teaching exactly what is needed for the test. Also the study guides and videos he provides apart of the course was extremely helpful.

I took this Professor the during the first summer term and his class was fairly easy. He provided test prep which efficiently prepares you for the actual test. He often goes on a tangent about cheating and other things.

Took this prof for MAC 2313. Prof Canas is a very caring & knowledgeable person in what he teaches. Before usually starting on a new concept he likes to concept build to that new concept using concepts you should've learned in previous math courses which can be very helpful. As for the hw he gives you a couple weeks to do it bc of how much it is.
