BEST TEACHER EVER! Expect to do reading and come prepared to class for discussion. The reading is not bad, usually the material is very interesting and I'm sure you will enjoy it. Also expect to write 5-6 essays in the semester. They are easy, he assigns the reading, discussion, hands out a prompt, and gives you good feedback. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Mr Centeno is the best English I ever have. He is encouraging, and he is willing to help you to transfer. Just follow the class and work hard, you will learn a lot.

His teaching sytle encourages student's to participate in discussions & he has a sense of humor which makes the class fun. midterm & final are in class. 3 essays & 1 research paper. for our class, he lets us rewrite essay #2 if we turn in essay #1 within 2 wks. he offers office hrs & respond to e-mails timely. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!

Best English teacher.Although he's a really good teacher he expects the best from his students. He could be cool with you but his a professional and If he sees that you're not doing your best he's a thought grader. But don't take it personal take it as a lesson learn. The only bad thing is that he takes forever to grade.

Best English professor! He is extremity helpful and makes it fun to learn. If you want to improve your writing you should definitely take him. However, he is a hard grader but it is definitely worth it. If you work hard, participate, turn in everything,and go to class you will be fine.

Centeno's class is pretty easy. Just be a responsible student and get your books on time and put effort into doing his essays. It's not hard at all. He grades fair enough and he is so silly and cool. Take his class, you won't regret it.

One of the best professors I've ever taken at ELAC. He is inspirational, motivating, and believes in his students. Not an easy class, but manageable as long as the work is put into it. If English is not your favorite subject Centeno will most definitely be sure that you will no longer hate it.

Professor Centeno is really helpful and is willing to go the extra mile to help you. He is not even the hard the minimum essay was 7 pages other professors ask for 10 for me the hardest thing in this class was not to write more than 8 pgs lol he really likes when his students analyze

Best professor! I have not taken English in 7 years so it was really tough for me. Although final grades are based on essay scores, he expects improvement as well to determine your grade. My essay scores were: D+, C+, B- (midterm), C+, B (research paper), and B+ (Final). He will literally go over all of your mistakes in office hours. I earned a B!

He is a really good professor, very elaborate on his essay assignments, if students do not understand the material, is very open and willing to help. Take advantage of his office hours. The structure he wants for his essays is very straight forward. He is awesome! I would've love to take English 103 but schedule conflict so couln't. I took him for Eng 21, 28 and 101.

He is one of the best professors ever. Since I was one of his favorites and always would go visit him during office hours, I ended up doing well in his class. I worked very hard got B's on my midterm and FINAL. ON my essays I would get A's and B's and because I worked my asss off, I got an A in his class. I was very bad at English.

Mr. Centeno is by far the best teacher i have ever had at ELAC. If English is a subject that you are not strong in i would encourage you to take him. he's lectures are always fun, that's because he is really funny and enjoys group participation. he promotes a lot of group work as well. in addition, he is always up to help and answer any questions.

He truly cares, he is very helpful with work, he gives feedback and you will definitely learn something useful in his class, I suggest you do not take this class if your looking for an easy A or if you're lazy. He does give a fair amount of essays and we do read stories a lot and discuses them, requires critical thinking. Over all BEST CLASS EVER

Centeno is amazing. He genuinely goes far beyond the expectation of a professor and an advisor. He gave me my first B on my paper!!! But only bc he wants us to improve our writing. His readings are amazing and provide insight to issues which are not typically addressed in politics or conversation in general. Ask questions & talk to him. He's hip.

Centeno is the BEST professor at ELAC. He made me believe in myself. He cares for his students as long as you show you are willing to put effort, he will notice and assist you. He definitely showed me how to write an essay. He is the best mentor. I suggest you make him your best friend because he will help you transfer if you get into his program.

Professor Centeno is great! I enjoyed taking his classes. I took him for English 28 and 101. He's super chill and gives good feedback. A lot of reading and essays but he does encourage his students to go to the writing center and it helps a lot. He also does Group discussions and work but it isn't bad as it seems. TAKE HIM!

He's a great professor! His class required a lot of reading and participation as a class. Do your drafts, see him during office hours to get feedback and you'll be ok. He will randomly give quizzes based on the readings.

One of few professors that cares about student success. Gives lots of homework but, not too difficult. Very easy to pass, just participate and turn everything in on time.

Honestly, I loved this teacher!! He is everything you want in a teacher. He pushes you to be better, he understand where your coming from and he will check up on you to make sure your doing alright if you don't show up for class. Don't take him for granted because you wont find a lot of teachers like this, especially teachers you think are cool.

He is extremely relatable and cares for his students outside of a class setting. Took him for English 103 Honors and the grading was a little difficult, but Centeno is there to help you with any questions you have.

I took Mr. Centeno's class for English 101 honors and he overall was a great teacher! He assigned a lot of reading but had a lot a class discussions to further explain any confusion we had. The only thing I would say is that he did grade fairly hard on essays. Maybe because it was honors? He also took a long time to grade essays. Really nice guy :)
