I don't know what these other people are talking about. He gives OPEN Book tests and quizzes. He tries his best to make such a boring class fun.

Mr Colon is a very goog professor, he is willing to help and can be very understanding. Open everything, reviews work multiple times which is good,and makes the class enjoyable. If you apply your self it's an easy A.

I have had this professor for one semester including this semster. I beleive he is a great professor and helps u when U ASK FOR THE HELP. He likes to add sense of humor in his teaching to make the class alive. Colon has been a great addition to VCC.

Enjoyed this class much easier than last accounting prof that I had...took time to make sure we understood material before moving on

Good teacher and very interesting. He takes his real life experiences and shows us what accounting is like in the real world. He will not give you test or move on unless he knows for sure everyone knows the material. Good teacher.

Mr. Colon is a very helpful teacher. He helped me whenever i needed help from him. If you pay attention in class and not do the labs while he is talking you will do great on the test. All test are open book.

he's a very cool and laid back professor. Gives many opportunities for extra credit if your willing to do the work. Class is not too boring..pay attention in class and do the homework and you should pass with flying colors.(quizes & exams are open book!)

Great guy. If you don't get an A, something is seriously wrong. This guy over extends himself to make sure you get an A. He rewards bad behavior in this manner. All open book/note. Hate studying? TAKE COLON!

Very funny, easy, interesting, and clear professor, plus he's Puertorrican so how bad could he be...I recommend him to anyone who is taking accounting...

Very easy. Every test is open book. Makes sure you leave learning something instead of covering the entire book and you learning nothing. Keeps class entertaining.

Class is entertaning, tests and quiz open book, but studying is recomended due to quiz and test difficulty. Colon is funny, a bit cheesy but overall the class was good computers with online capability so surf the web and stay awake, occasionally here a almost funny joke. Colon two thumbs up. Easy A.

I have never read anything in that accounting book I bought, I merely just looked at my notes during the tests, and got A's, if you do not get an A in this class, which feels a lot like a high school class, he makes it so easy, then something is wrong.

He's a good teacher and goes through stuff thoroughly. But just because he has open book tests and quizzes doesn't mean u shouldn't read the book. He teaches us in a way that accounting will be in the future (having books as a reference).

Awesome guy, genuinely cares about his students. Tests and quizzes are open book, but you do learn the material if all you do is sit in class. makes time pass by with his own personal experiences as an accountant.

Okay i got an A in this class BUT i studied like crazy! i took it over the summer and my main focus was this class! It's not an easy class but come on it's Accounting!

The tests and quizzes are all open notes and open book. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Attendance is required. If you go and read a little bit of the book you'll do fine. I loved this class (for being accounting). I got an A by simply highligting important ideas for tests. You have to try hard to fail.

Awesome guy he is funny and keeps you awake, open book tests, pretty much if you catch the fist 2 weeks of material about T-acct's you are set for the rest of the class, it was an easy A for me but others in class didnt do so well PAY ATTENTION IN THE BEGINNING AND YOU WILL CATCH ON AND BE OK!

A good teacher, knows his stuff. Just do the homework and study. I wish he didn't repeat himself as much as he does. Very fair with test, even though they are on the harder edge.

I just came back to college after a five year break and i made the highest grade in the class. Professor is understanding and helpful. Everthing is open-book and notes. Colon makes accounting fun and even interesting. One of the best teachers I have ever had.

He's a nice guy, easy 2 talk 2 & willing 2 help. He knows his info,& gives a lot of "real world" stories but repeats some of them A LOT. He reviews every chapter in class, goes over info, & if u pay attention, the tests r easy (OPEN BOOK!). I haven't been in school in 4 years & thought this was a great class. u MUST read the chapters though.

great class,prof.Colon made this class easy to understand and he was very helpfull and understanding. return calls when i did not understood a problem and cover all points open books/notes test, but you must practice and read the chapters

Professor Colon is a very easygoing guy.He's nice and always willing to help students.Gives out whole lotta extra credits by taking attendence.There's no way you cant pass this course.Open book test,the test is not hard,you just need to pay more attention to the small details.Highly recommanded!Making an high A so far.

I took him last semester and he was a GREAT teacher, I learned a lot and got an A. Maybe you all are just complete dumb asses that don't know how todo anything. His class was easy and the test where easy and the only thing that sucked was the attendence points but besides that if you can't get an A go back to high school.

This guy it's nuts..but "who gives a RIP" haha. You have to practice [at least a little] otherwise you'll be lost.. especially on the tests. The subject sucks [unless you're major is accounting]

BEST TECHER EVER! Go to his office hours with any questions you have. Buy the working papers and the study guide and you will get an A! Best accounting teacher at VCC. Trust me! try looking up the other professors rateings. Do the problems in the study guide and the homework and you'll get atleast and A. I promise!

GIVE OPEN BOOK TEST BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO STUDY. EXPLAINS ALL AND APPROCHABLE

mr. colon is a nice professor. at first, i had trouble but after following his advice of "practice, practice, practice", the material became very clear and the test and hws are easier. though he might go off the subject at times, he does ask the class if they understand the material and goes over the hw.

I don't know what everyone is talking about. This professor gets off topic a little but it's funny, all you have to do is read the chapters and you will be fine You get to use your book and notes for the test/quizes and you get points for just comming to class. Quizess and tests are pretty straightforward and the professor is a nice guy to talk to

The subject of Accounting was challenging for me. I do not know if I would have passed under another professor. The open book testing and notes were a great help however you still need to read and practice. I would recommend him especially if not strong in this subject. I will be taking him for Managerial. Colon sometimes tries a little too hard to be funny, but he's a good guy and knows what he's talking about. Open book and notes, including past quizzes, tests, and homework. He makes it easy. Buy the textbook used, buy the hw manager from the bookstore, and use the cash you saved on the book to buy the working papers. They're worth it.

Carlos is the man! This class really isn't that hard. It's a little more complicated than 2021, but good ol' Carlos does things right. Same exact set up as ACG2021. You get points for going to class, HW Manager, etc. I've had to help people in other classes, and Colon is by far the easiest and nicest prof for ACG! Great guy.

He is awesome! There's no way that you can fail his class. Attendence counts cuz it's part of your grade, but there's also an exception. I would take him again for management but his class time didn't fit me in, so sad. If you don't understand anything, u can ask him n he's very willing to help u. He's more like your friend than just a professor.

He's not a bad teacher. His quizzes and tests ARE different from the exercises he assigns. Although it's open book, there's always a couple of questions that will throw you off cuz they're just so abstract. He seems like he gets angry when you ask him questions, but he's just like that and doesn't mean harm. He does that to everyone. Full of jokes.

This was the second time I took this class and I am horrible at anything even remotly math related. He is a really good teacher. TAKE HIM

great guy. gets off topic alot. tries really hard for students to get material by repeating it 100000 times. "practice is the key" and i agree with the one person below who says that he seems to get angry when you ask him questions. btw he does read these ratings you know...

This guy is a BA. Nuff said. He knows the material and is an all around cool guy. You won't find many professors who are willing to deliver the material like he does. If you fail at his class, then you fail at life.

This class was my favorite, and I'm not even an Acct Major! He's a funny guy, never a dull moment in his class! There are 2 quizzes, 2 tests, and a final, all of which are open book! Two online HW assgn which are long, but helps you study. He also gives xtra credit just for showing up! I can't believe it, but I actually get Acct! Thanks professor!

The professor was awesome. He knows the material extremely well and knows how to teach it. He uses anecdotes and humor to make it understandable. He definitely wants everyone to succeed. The first half is a lot harder than the second half, but reading helps. P.S. Another subject, like celebrities might capture more attention than baseball.

I disagree with the last student. He goes out of his way to help you & if you read the textbook & practice the exercises you will pass the class. He is not lazy. The best accounting professor at Valencia.

Very helpful & goes out of his way to answer your questions. Reviews the quizzes & tests. Those who critize him just don't practice the assignments or read the chapters.

this class was easy. who ever said that his class is hard does not know how to NETWORK.i took him for financial and managerial. if you have the material you will breeze through this class. but he is a great professor. i recommand him.

He makes corny jokes, but in the end the class isn't that hard. All tests / quizs are open book / notes. Make sure to stay after the test / quiz because he goes over all questions and that can be used for the next text. Attendance is not mandatory but he gives points for attending class.

Good guy for Acct. Test and quizzes are'nt bad. Took him for both Financial and Managerial Acct. and came out with A's. I would recommend his class to anyone!

If you have the book, you will pass the class. He goes over every question on test and quiz. He also uses those problems on the final exam. Attend every class because if you dont, you will feel lost the next class. He talks off subject a lot! So be ready to sit there while he talks about things that dont go with accounting.

The best professor at the west campus. He was treated unfairly by the dean & provost. They got rid of him because they did not like him. Valencia community college does not care about the students. If you read his evaluations they are the best & the most at Valencia.

BEST accounting professor ever! Open book exams! (but that doesn't make them easy... you really have to know what you are doing) highest grade in the class is exempt from final!
