He is a cool teacher. He will help you. He is very outgoing, he gets along with all of his students. I learned so much from him even though he made us write quite a lot.

I got an A in his other Chicano class, now I got an A again, which I thought I didn't deserve at first. That was b/c I missed some summaries but he told all of us what to do to make them up. Basically, do what we missed. He wants YOUR opinion on the topic, not tell him what the topic was about. Keep that in mind, and you can't get a low grade.

I took his class during short term session and i got a B, which isn't too bad. im Asian, but he teaches easy way to understand the materials. All you need to do is study printed out papers.

I took this class for needed units and really had fun in this class. We wrote 3 papers and watched movies on the subject hey I got a "A" in his class and didnt really do work.

Prof. Guerrero is a cool dude. Mr. Guerrero's class is pretty easy. As long as you do his essay assingments, even if they are a few days late, but dont push it too much.

Professor treats the class almost as an independant study. He tells you what books to get and you read on your own. All tests are papers. I passed based on discussions and films we watched. The books supplement what you are learning but not extremely necessary

Chicano Studies 8. A typical class was composed of lectures, class discussions, and historical videos. There were no exams in this class. Your grade was composed of weekly essays, a take-home midterm (essay), and a take-home final (essay) based on a video. Professor Guerrero cusses during class and is very knowledgeable.

If you like to write or are a good writer then this class is for you. If not, do not take this class. Contrary to rumors out there this class is not a “kick back class.” Professor Guerrero is a cool guy. He’s funny, not boring, likes to cuss, and knows his stuff. Very chill professor. All material is clear he's a funny guy. Jus do all your essays and reading and you will be fine. essays aren't that complicated. Absolutely recommend him.

He may look a little up tight when you first meet him, but you soon will find out he is very laid back and has a good way of connecting with his students. I enjoyed his class because he made the class feel very down to earth and not so boring. It was very informational and movies were interesting. TAKE HIM! Easy A+ just read, and do essays.

Too easy. You won't learn anything but you can get an easy A. Lots of work on identity but he needs to really think about helping students learn rather than helping them get good grades.

Professor Guerrero is one of the best instructors I have ever had the pleasure of having. His class is worthwhile and interesting. You learn a great deal about Chicano history and identity. Do all the assignments and short essays and you will get an A. Not super difficult at all.

Dr Guerrero is an effective and helpful online instructor who answers student questions promptly. Although he did monitor and grade the student discussions I did wish that he would mingle in the student discussions too and not remain so aloof. The subject material choices were interesting. They expanded my knowledge of Mexico's history and culture.

I am taking his hybrid chicano 008 class and i actually enjoy it, i never knew so much about the Mexican history and it is full of life lessons!! He answers right away especially through txt if you have questions, a lot of reading but the work is not too hard he really gives a lot of time! just stick to it and it will be great!! Thank you!!

Intriguing teaching and interesting material. Guerrero manages to keep the class informed on his subject and also entertain us with his sense of humor. Assignments are bearable and undemanding to understand. Not a difficult teacher and worth all your time.

Guerrero taught a very well organized online course. I was enrolled last year in his Chicano 044 course, which I liked too. In the past year, he has become even more fluent at teaching online.

Having taken this course once before, I have to say that this guy has probably lost his passion for teaching. Although the material is very informative, Guerrero seemed to have relied heavily on the online test assignments, (which were open notes tests) It really took the challenge out of learning. You pretty much just learned if you chose to read.

I took Chicano studies for summer, this class was very interesting, and I learned a lot. Teacher answer all my questions in a prompt manner. it was really good class. I like how well organized teacher is with an online class. Easy for me.

In the last week of Chicano 8 and Im making it out with a clear A! His six week course is jammed pack with lots of reading and his assignments will take more than a few hours each week to complete but its not difficult. I enjoyed his style and the course was very interesting! You do have to work for your grade so I wouldn't say its an easy A.

Professor Guerrero assigns weekly homework assignments which are long, but totally doable. He offers a lot of extra credit if you submit your homework before the due date. Make sure that your voice thread discussions are thorough. If you read his assigned articles and have in-depth reading analysis in your essays, then you will get an A! :)

Amazing professor. Lectures are great. Professor is very smart and wants students to do well in class and college in general. Take advantage of his knowledge and ask questions! He will make it very easy for you to get and A, just read and do the assignments (easy). Gives extra credit.

Woww! This is absolutely the funniest Professor i've had so far. His classes are fun & interesting, he doesn't get you bored w/ lots of text book readings. Not to mention he's super smart & it shows. I took his class online and I didn't need any textbook other than only two REQUIRED books for the homework. Weekly threads, paper and Reading Log. His class is very easy as long as you read and do what I just mentioned. There IS chance for extra credit AND he allows you to take his quizzes twice for the better grade. LOVED the readings. RECOMMEND.

He's a very smart and hilarious guy! Wish all my professors had his personality since he makes people feel comfortable. Technically the books were required, but I and many others in the class never used them at all since all his work is on Canvas now. Super easy A unless you're not putting effort AT ALL. Seriously though, take his class.

Probably the best professor I've ever had. He's hilarious and his lectures are one of a kind. He doesn't require attendance and he is one of the few professors that treats you like an adult.

You dont need to buy the book, come to class sometimes, all the assignemnts you turn in are online so dont worry about taking notes, show interest. make sure you do that assignements online, each assignment took me 20 mins tops, longest it took use hour-30 min. easy A. you can take other harder classes while taking this one. (i.e. Anatomy, Precal)

I took Dr. Guerrero's short term class. He is the best professor I've had the pleasure to learn from (and I've been in school since 1997!). I absolutely LOVED his class. The reading material was fascinating, so much so, that the intense amount of reading didn't feel like work to me, it was enjoyable. I left his class feeling inspired and happy!

By far my favorite teacher. I took Chicano Studies 008 with him in the Spring 2017. Had to buy two novels ($15 total) that I opened maybe twice. Didn't take attendance but his lectures are so awesome you don't want to skip. He's hilarious, you watch movies/documentaries, and he brings up interesting view points on all sorts of issues

I took his class online during the summer. It was the easiest class I've ever taken. You get a lot of extra credit for doing the assignments early and uploading audio to the discussions. You also get 2 tries for the midterms and final, and they were very easy. I only quickly skimmed through the readings and textbooks and got about 115% in the class

You will have to work it to get an A. The weekly online assignments are reading heavy. However, there are tons of extra opportunities embedded in each assignment, definitely do these.

This class is perfect for Winter/Summer session. There is LOTS to read, but if you time it right, you can manage it. There is endless opportunities for extra credit. He is highly respected and I highly recommend taking him!

Took his class for Fall 2017. It's a very interesting subject and a very easy one. You dont even need to come to class everytime. I think I only went to his class thrice. You will still learn as long as you answer all the quizzes in canvas. It's an easy A. I'm taking him again for Chicano 8 this Spring 2018.

Recommend this class for in person & long semesters, otherwise lots of reading. The professor talks a lot & it all ties into the lecture. He encourages students to share their experiences. He's super cool about answering any questions but don't expect fast email replies if they are not within his office hours listed on the syllabus

Impossible to get lower than an A in this class, especially with all the extra credit opportunities. Reading may seem like a hard work load, but you do gain a stronger knowledge involving other aspects such as Sociology, Ethnic and Racial Studies etc. Easy to reach out of class, but you will not need to because of how easy his class is to manage.

Took both Chicano 07 & 08 with him online in the past. You definitely need the books. Easy class but you definitely have to read and put in work. Class was simple 2 assignments due per week, and 2 tests (midterm and final) and he gives many opportunities for extra credit. You also learn a lot !

Took him online for winter. Pretty cool. There are weekly discussions. Short essays due by the end of the week based on the reading he gives. You do have to read a lot but its very doable. You need both books. Would take again!

This is a really easy class and everyone should get an A. He is very chill and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities ! You don't even need the book because you can pass the class easily just with the modules.

Best professor I have had in the whole year I have attending Lacc. I took chicano studies 008 online and it was the best course . I work full-time so it can be difficult getting assignments in on time he gives you an extra day pr two after the due date to turn them in. He gives a lot of extra credit. Only two exams and only one assignment weekly

Taking him was a challenge but do not regret it, he is amazing! Discussions and short essays min 250 words/biweekly, make sure to in-text citation and include citations/references. The exams are about the readings make sure to READ, they are not timed. You will for sure learn in his class. Easy A as long as you do not miss work and be late.

Easy A! I came into this class not knowing anything about Chicano History. Dr. G allows you to earn extra credit on all assignments. 1 discussion and 1 Short Essay a week. Mid-Term 19 q's Final 12 q's. Final is optional if you already have a passing satisfied grade. 2 lowest graded assignments were dropped from total grade. Free online textbooks

not only is this professor good at teaching, but he really adds such life to the online class. I took chicano 8 online and i have never had such an engaging online class in my life! He has a great personality, he's chill and funny, just a super good dude with a great perspective on life. would love to learn from him again in the future!

Hes a really good online teacher. The modules are full of information that was useful and easy to follow. My only difficulty was following the names of the cities but once I got the hang of it it was a breeze. He also gives lots of extra credit which it nice. He drops the lowest score on posts/tests which helped because I scored low the 1st week.

This professor is reachable outside of class, he is ready to help if you ever need help, yes you have to read but it's really not a lot. You just have two assignments every week and the midterm and final exams are super easy, he gives you two attempts for both exams. Literally, it's an easy A.

However, if you dedicate the time to outline the essays, the topics will make sense and even be interesting to read. His rubric was clear, and the modules were organized. If you somehow manage to fail Professor Guerrero's class, you are truly built different. Professor Guerrero is a generous grader and gives tons of extra credit opportunities. I took his five week summer course and I missed a week's worth of assignments, and I still got a A+. Get ready to read a lot of essays and books. Books are free.

Honestly if you fail this class that's on you. I just took this class during summer (2023) and it was so nice and everyone participate in discussions. Professor G gives a lot of extra credit like in each assignment. If I were you take him.

I took Chicano 008 during the spring semester and it was great. The professor answered all of my questions and was not bothered at all. The class was easy even for an intermediate English speaker like me! 10/10 best professor I've ever taken.

Professor Guerrero is a great professor. If you ever need to take Chicano studies PLEASE take him. His assignments are super straight forward, but a lot of reading. But than again its college so its expected. However its not overwhelming though. His summer class is really cool and easy, I highly recommend the summer. 10/10, Amazing Professor.

Professor G's Chicano 008 is a gem - engaging lectures, helpful feedback, and tons of extra credit. The workload is manageable with Unstuck study and the textbook. Overall, a rewarding class with a great instructor.

This professor was by far one of the best professors I had during my time at LACC. There was a good amount of reading assigned but it was interesting. I like the books he picked out. Easy grader if you follow the instructions. Prof. G gives you options on how to do an assignment and it was nice to not have to write each week. Recommend!

The goat right here just make sure you follow the rubric and in a good pace don't do the work last minute like myself.

He was a good professor with clear grading and allowed late work. There was just a lot of reading, so if you are taking other challenging courses that require your time, I would recommend figuring out how to balance your time well. I took this as an honors course; it was a bit challenging: a paper[10 pages minimum], a podcast, and a bibliography.

Just message him and he is willing to help you out! There are a lot of readings- you don't have to read all of them but it helps to read as much as you can for assignments. He grades off of sincerity not literacy. Despite my disinterest in history I found myself engaged with the readings/videos!
