I had Carlos his first year (yep, he's a first name prof). VERY FUNNY MAN! To me the material isn't that fun, but he is a really good professor. Very real and down to earth. Tests were short answer with few questions, but I just suggest coming to class - its fun anyway. Does some online assignments that I don't really care for.

Carlos is a great guy and teacher. I actually liked a book that he required for the course, which is highly unusual. He cracks jokes to keep you interested but really teaches you important things as well. I would highly recommend taking any of his classes.

He's really cool. He wrote the book so it seemed like he might be really strict but, he just knows a lot. I think he's really interesting. You don't need the book. He just teaches new things everyday that all tie in. He's just really nice and fun.

He's funny and smart. He makes you read and review the book Freakonomics every week for 6 weeks.and do online work. A big group project at the end of the semester, but its sounds like more work than it is. The material sucks and is boring, but he literally wrote the book on it so he knows what he is talking about and it helps

Carlos is a great teacher.This guy knows his stuff and he stands by his word. He tells you that its hard to get an A in the class but it's even harder to get an F. He is there to help you whenever you need and is gives Xtra points like crazy on exams. He has a theory that women are taking over the world...its funny. Makes the class lol all the time

Absolutely amazing professor! He is so funny and loves getting off topic, but you learn what you need to. Great job at balance teaching and having fun! Not a hard grader at all and makes the material very understandable. Easy grader (If you do the assignment, you'll get full credit!) Definitely try to get him if you need to take econ!

makes the class fun. you need the book for homework and quiz but don't buy it at the bookstore(xpensive!!!). get it at aplia for 87. go to his office if you dont understand something. he will explain everything. elasticity was killing me but went to his office. he explained the damn thing 5 times. now i get it. take his class.

i just took his class and there is no mad curve. he helps you with extra credits and stuff to get a c- but other than that you are on your own. btw aplia is a killer but he is good prof. remember this econs class that we all hate but you have to give props to the man he keeps you awake and makes it fun. take his class.

One of my most favorite professors of all time. Where else can you learn, have fun, and expand your horizons? He brings humor and wit to the classroom, and always relates what he teaches to real life. CCSU's gem in the ECON department.

I took ECON 200 and 201 with Professor Liard-Muriente and I could not be happier. I never liked Econ but he made this class awesome! He has a HUGE personality and even though attendance is not mandatory, I went every time. The grades are mainly based on online homework but his lectures really help you with them. I 100% recommend him!

absolute best teacher out there. if i could i would take him 100000 times over. he is so funny and work isn't that hard. no mid term no final just mini online quizzes every weekend but they are easy and you cant really get them wrong! If you can i highly recommend him!!!

You litterally do not have to go to class. I sit there and watch nerflix during class and he doesn't care at all. There is no finalmidtermtestsquizzes. Only homework due every sunday, all the answers are in the book. You won't learn anything but if you're looking for an easy 3 credits TAKE HIM

The easiest class ever. Assignments are online and due every Sunday. Drops the lowest five grades so it's almost impossible to get a bad grade. Uses curve which is beneficial for those struggling; not so much for students already doing well. Large class w lots of distractions but worth taking if you ignore them. Would take him again. Econ 200 is probably the least I've worked for an A in my whole life. All the work is homework on Aplia and attendance is like 15 percent of the grade which is good because class is only usually 40 minutes. He drops 5 homeworks and 5 absences also.

Take his hybrid course ! 50 min lecture 2x a week & an online HW due every Sunday. No finalmidterm. You have a 1 question quiz online at start of each class (definition in textbook) & a participation code submitted online at the end, so you could easily not go if someone sends you the code. Drops 5 lowest HWs & gives extra credit.

Carlos is an amazing econ professor! Econ isn't a easy class by no means, but i took him an got an A. Go to every class and do all the extra credit YOU WILL PASS!

One of the best professors here, he's hilarious. Homework every week ranging from 5-15 questions, make friends it'll make this course easier. I would take again if he taught 201 during the year.

Great teacher I wish he knew how much I appreciate him. He teaches very difficult subjects and is more concerened about the students learning than weeding out the weak. He has very long lectures but he has a great sense of humor. You can tell that he gets exhausted but only because he tries more than other teachers to help the students.

Good professor, content was confusing though graphs are not my thing, but as long as you do online homework you're golden. Gives extra credit. Jealous because he's a good department chair... other business department chairs should follow his lead in being approachable and friendly, seriously. Makes you want to be an econ major.

This class should really be online only instead of hybrid, I didn't learn much from the lectures. Kept going to class though cuz Liard's a really funny guy. Also he gives free extra credit if a lot of students are absent for a class, so don't skip. Pretends to be mean, but really wants you to succeed outside of school and get an awesome career.

LOVE Carlos. He's hilarious and makes sure that his students are understanding what his lectures are about. No tests or quizzes. Just some problem sets, and a book review which was not too hard. Also took Wall Street Journal quizzes which aren't too hard either.

Hybrid class is amazing. Genuinely cares about students doing well outside of school and getting into a good career. Wants his students to get something out of the class that actually applies to them. Show up, listen to him ranting about "the system" while giving hilarious analogies, do the one homework online and you'll be fine.

Hes a very cool guy. kinda weird at times but funny overall and he is a professor you'll enjoy taking. he goes through the book in class so notes aren't needed. Some of the hw is a little challenging but at the end of the semester he gives lots of extra credit and even drops the lowest grades. should've gotten a solid B but instead have a solid A

IF YOU DO THE HOMEWORK YOU WILL PASS, he didn't give us any tests or quizzes but you do have to do all the hw on tophat and read a book but if ur ok with extra hw and no tests or quizzes it's a great class. You do have to show up to class but he cancels a lot. Very funny and is always making jokes

If economics is not your major and you want an easy A, take his class. If you have any desire to learn about economics, dont take this class. His lectures are pointless and dont follow the mandatory homework.

Class discussions are often pointless, he likes to go on tangents that barely relate to the material. That being said he cares about his students and is a really good person. Just do the homework he gives and you'll pass.

If you want to learn something, I wouldnt advise taking this class since its easy to get an A without actually learning much. If you do all the inquisitives and book reviews you will be fine. His attendance isnt mandatory he just randomly takes it every so often. I ended with a 97 and I didnt really work extra hard or anything

Easy class. I took a hybrid class with him. We meet only once a week for the normal 1 hour 15mins. No exams, just work online every week which are easy to do as long as you understand the material. Lecture heavy, but he is a nice guy and can be funny.

Prof Liard-Muriente is a very energetic person. If you dont want a strict/quiet prof, pick him. He makes jokes and is very engaging throughout his lessons while putting on a great lecture. I had a hybrid class so we only met once a week for about an hour and 15 mins. Just DONT let the smartworks and inquisitive assignments pile up! no exams/tests!

Professor is very funny and keeps a chill vibe during lectures. While sometimes he may stray off topic he definitely keeps everyones attention. 10/10 would recommend taking his hybrid class. All assignments online and easily accessible.

Loved this class. No exams, papers, midterm, or final if you have the class once a week. Hes super laid back and chill. All you have to do is the online homework. You dont have to go to class, its up to you. He really understands how busy college life is and is super understanding that we all got other things going on!

Super chill, and only sometimes takes attendance randomly. His work is a lot till like half way through than its easy. Tests are like 80% of your grade though so be careful.

Very chill professor, rarely takes attendance. Honestly you won't learn much from his lectures but you will from reading the textbook/the book he wants you to review. Relatively easy A but there is a decent amount of work, especially in the first half of the semester.

Good lecturer. Tries to make class laugh, real joker. Very clear on expectations. Gives alot of resources to help understand material. For a hybrid class he was great. He answers emails and sends them out when needed. If you can handle managing alot of work for the week, take his hybrid class. Everything is online. Would take his class again.

Your grade is determined by book reviews (only for 1st half of semester) and problem sets, as there are no quizzes or tests. He only took attendance one time during the entire semester and ended the class early. He's a very chill professor and constantly tries to make the class laugh, definitely not a tough course but you may not learn a ton.

If you get a bad grade you are a CCCSUB (Certified CCSU Bum). Meets once a week and takes attendance randomly, then he tells you he lied and attendance is only extra credit. No exams and all answers are online for HW. A good amount of homework but this class is a dream come true.

Graded by the online homework, a site I am not a fan of but tolerable. He covered everything well in lectures and was a very nice and entertaining guy, one of the few profs who's lectures I would look forward for.

I am not an econ major and took 201 because why not. Prof Carlos makes the class accessible to those who have never taken any econ course before. Homework is on a purchased online textbook and questions have unlimited tries. Easiest A at CCSU. Will forever and ever recommend Prof Carlos to all.

Professor Carlos is a great teacher. He's suoer chill and he's very funny. Attendance is not mandatory and he'll just take attendance when he feels like it. Amazing guy, would take again.

I took Micro with Carlos and he was truly great. He made the class so entraining and fun. You don't need to go to every class, but once in awhile would be good. He gave extra credit towards the end for those who needed it and the classwork was honestly super easy. I never took any exams or tests, but we did have to buy a work pack to do work.

This will be the easiest class you take at CCSU. It is all online work that can be solved with quizlets. I usually just did the online assignments while in the class. He is quick to cancel class and he makes it impossible to fail. He changed the grading scale for us so everyone basically left with an A. He is also very funny.
