Great professor! I recommend everyone to take him. A great dresser and especially when he wears white… tests are hard though, so make sure you study!

His teaching style is interesting, he dresses very professionally (every week)and the class is fairly easy, just study the study guide and you should be fine. I would recommend him for anybody interested or not in the subject.

He is by far the best professor I've taken. He has a very interesting life story. He has 5 exams, can drop one, including the final. No project and gives out extra credit. He is not boring, he's full of energy and will make you laugh. You get to watch show called shark tank and 90% what he says is on the exams. Take him!

He is very passionate about his course. I enjoyed the lectures and the amount of class participation. The problem is that he says not to buy a textbook, but the tests have mostly questions from the textbook. I recommend him, but be prepared to use google a lot on the tests.

Attendance isn't mandatory but you will fail if you don't go to class, and he makes class really enjoyable so you'll want to go anyway. Tests are online open note but RANDOM information and you get very little time. Google will quickly become your best friend.

Like most people said, he is definitely one of the best I had in my college career, makes his class interesting, attendence is always like the first day of class and if you listen to what he has to say you will do well in the exams. Great Professor, would certainly recommend him. Do not listen to the negative comments. The only way to fail this class is if you are completely stupid. Just attend the lectures, review the power point and use some sense and you will make an A without even having to take the final.

Wow....This was my first semester at UH as a transfer student from HCC.. I loved some teachers from junior college but I will say thus far Professor Ortega is in my top 3. This gentleman is a great orator. Tests are online which r easy. Bring a recording device. Also, FREE A in this class dont be a slacker! IT IS EASY IF YOU TRY TAKE ACTION!

I heard about Professor Ortega's class from a friend and decided to take it. He is the BEST professor and this is the BEST class I have EVER taken. CLasses are fun and he is an AWESOME presenter. He teaches how to apply the material to the "real world" and inspires you to take action. This is class is a MUST!

He is passionate and inspiring! His lectures are thought-provoking, educational and at times, hilarious! His exams were straight-forward and he gives you fair warning when you should be paying "extra attention" to certain things (hinting that it will be tested on later). Best part--he doesn't use a textbook and relays messages via Twitter!

This course was easy as pie. Tests were directly from the text and he drops two of the lowest test grades. A youtube video project is not mandatory, but easy to create. Carlos Ortega is energetic and keeps you entertained. Awesome Class. I made an A in Fall 2012.

Really enjoyed his class. Very enthusiastic and passionate about his teaching. Helps the students at the time of need. 5 exams and 1 youtube project. If one can ace the project, half of the job is done. In order to do good on the project, choose a responsible group and do not procrastinate in his class.

There's certainly more good than bad in the course. Lectures are generally interesting & useful except for the lack of correlation in lecture material and exam questions. However, questions verbatim from the textbook don't teach you much except fast&effective search techniques using pdf/ebook & google. Exam questions are usually trivial minutiae.

I highly recommend this class. Professor Ortega is by far the best teacher I have had at UH. His class is very clear, and well presented. I left very thoroughly inspired. Pay attention, do the required work and take in what he has to say. You will not be disappointed.

CO wants you to realize that making mistakes/poor choices can be much more serious in the real world. So his point is you are better off if you get in trouble at a university and learn from it than if you screw up later on in life. Keep in mind BB-Learn logs IP addresses so avoid that trap (attn: groups/teams) or take precautions if you like risk.

FYI, you're set up to che*t in this course. It's no coincidence that the lecture on ethics directly follows the second exam. 4 Exams, 1 YouTube Group Project, Optional Final. Lowest grade is dropped. ATTEND CLASS. Most of the exam questions comes from what he says. Pick an efficient group for the project & you should receive a high grade. I work full time & made the mistake of treating this class like a blowoff class, therefore, I received a low B.

Lectures are very insightful, you can tell he's passionate about teaching entrepreneurship. A lot of what he says is on the tests. For the tests, have his powerpoint slides open because at least 80% of the questions are on there. Also, it is very important that you pick a good group for the video project. Otherwise, you'll be disappointed.

Participation matters. About 4 exams, not including the final. Mostly all of what is on the exams is from in-class lecture. You need to pay attention and take notes. The hardest part of the class is taking time from being interested to just take the notes. Class is always very interesting. He's and inspirational guy and knows how to motivate.

Took his social Entr class and it was really easy. Class was only Tuesdays and attendance wasn't mandatory. Basically we had to work with a non profit organization of our choice or make our own and do a event. Its pretty fun and you get to learn a lot and work with different types of people. Easy A

All of Ortega's reviews are either straight 5's or all 1's. It is a very easy A- but you need to do work. Class is optional BUT mandatory for your grade. Write down what he says. Professor Ortega clearly understands the struggle of being a student and doesn't seek to further burden anyone with his class. There were 5 midterms (all of which were fairly simple) and one group project where the lowest grade you could get was an 80 just for turning it in. Plus the lowest of those grades is dropped. Would recommend.

I took Professor Ortega's class a long time ago and he is still one of the most amazing teachers I've ever had. He's energetic and full of experience-base knowledge. He makes it really easy to do well. Ortega has one of the most inspirational rags to riches stories ever. You owe it to yourself to take and attend his class.

Professor Ortega's class is unlike anything I've taken before! This class is so wonderful. Online, open notes tests but don't be fooled, tests are extremely tricky sometimes. After switching majors from MecEng. to Finance this class was one of my advance electives and man was this class a game changer. This proffessor inspires you in every one of his lectures only 5 test one you tube project lowest grade drops. Relatively easy class just pay attention in class easy A. This man is perhaps the best proffessor I have had.

The class lectures are great and prof. Ortega controls the entire auditorium like a televangelist. You have 5 tests(Number 4 is the most DIFFICULT)the rest are easy if you take good notes. He does not require a book, though attendance is not mandatory the online powerpoint he goes over in class is all the study material you need. The only thing that sucks is the youtube project. Professor Ortega's lectures are very interesting! 10/10 would take again. He really does incorporate real world situations and his own personal experiences within his lectures. The group project is also easy! Recommend going to his last lecture. Tests are also easy; most can be found coursehero/ lecture slides.

I love love loved Professor Ortega's class! He dresses so well and is very interesting to listen to! There are tests and a video project but it's not too hard if you get a good group. I highly recommend taking this class! He was my favorite professor I've had UH so far. His final lecture is amazing. He's inspirational and helpful.

One of the best professors at UH. Tests come straight from the power points. Save them all as one document and use the Ctr+F feature to find the answers. I did poorly on the first exam and after meeting with him he gave me this advice. Made an A on the last two exams. Easy A if you knew the powerpoint trick before the first test

He gives a lot of useful information on his lectures. There are 4 exams, a final, and the video project. Honestly super mega easy, he gives extra credit opportunities also. He drops 2 exam grades and uses the highest exam grade as 2 for the 2 that he dropped.

Ortega is one of the best professors at UH. He is knowledgeable, energetic and inspirational. The class requirements are very clear and not too difficult. The real benefit of this class is not necessarily the material but the inspirational lectures and life lessons he dispenses along the way.

Probably the most inspirational professor i have taken in my two years of college. His lectures don't require attendance but would recommend everyone to go because he gives feedback about certain things, not just school, and also gives away some answers to his completely online tests.

The other reviews here are pretty accurate and not exaggerated. Professor Ortega is a pretty inspirational person and you can learn quite a bit from him even if you don't attend every class. The coursework consists of online tests and a YouTube group project. Tests are fairly easy but get a good group or else it may ruin your chances of an A.

Took the online class and made an A. If you cant make an A, its your fault not his. Its self paced Not sure what the problem Is with these students that whine about reaching him. Responsive- Took the online class also. Not sure how people can say hes not responsive to email. He answers and I met with him on campus. Helped me with my business throughout the summer semester. Class is self paced and not easy but well done. Wish he taught other classes!

Professor Ortega is the best professor at this institution. Grade is made up of 4 tests, a group project, and an optional final. Everything is worth the same. No text book. Tests are open book. His lectures are very informative and even though attendance isn't mandatory, you'll want to go. His outfits are THE BEST! Will definitely take him again!!!

Literally the easiest class I've ever taken at UH. Even though others say you don't need to attend class, I recommend going because he gives out some of the exam answers in his lectures. Exam 4 and the Final exam are the two hardest exams IMO. Be serious on the group project, because it can be the difference between getting an A or a B

Professor Ortega is so far the best professor I've taken at UH. He has an amazing story, and genuinely cares for his students success. His class is fairly simple, 4 exams and 1 group project. The exams are fairly easy, most of the info can be found online, and the group project is simple.

Awesome online course. Very clear grading criteria. Buying the book is a must. Test are multiple choice questions. Read the chapters throughly and you'll pass no problem.

5 Exams; but one can be dropped. Offers 5 points extra credit at the beginning of his first lectures. Only one group project. No need to purchase a book because he teaches from powerpoints and some information on the tests are only given in class. He is super inspiring and motivational, his class is a must!

Professors Ortega's class sparked my curiosity! He gives you freedom on how to write your essays. He was very accessible and cares about his students. He responds to emails in a timely manner. It is inspiring hearing his entrepreneur story, overall this class encouraged me to explore my entrepreneur side.

Took this him online during summer19. 3 tests and 2 essays. Tests are on quizlet. For the essays, he gives you 5 topics and you have to choose 2 topics to write about. Essays have no proper rubric/format; you make up the rules. Technically the book is required, but you don't need it if you are good at finding answers online.

Super easy class, I only got a B+ because I didnt put any effort on the second project option, no make ups or extra credit provided. Perhaps because I took his class in a short summer session.

Such an amazing professor who genuinely cares about his students & teaching them real world knowledge, would take again if I could. Carlos Ortega really is the option for ENTR 3310. Clear grading criteria. 5 exams and 2 projects, or you could do 4 exams and 3 projects. It's really up to you and where you stand with your grade. The projects are just papers you have to write, and the exams were simple as well. Easy class overall, got it done within 3 weeks.

There's 5 open-note tests and 3 projects available to do, he takes the average of the top 7 grades. Everything is available from the first day, so it's basically self paced and you can get a lot done right away. He's very easy to reach and will answer any questions you have. TAKE HIM!

There are 4 exams, and 4 projects. One grade get's dropped. I did well on all of the exams and only had to complete 3 of the 4 projects and got an A. Due dates are spaced out, but if you want to he lets to submit things way before they're even due. I finished the class in 2 weeks. I bought the g51 project option and thought it was worth it.

4 exams and 2 projects for the summer 2020 semester. Exams are easy and can be finished within an hour or two. The projects are also pretty easy and can be done within a day depending on which options you select. No textbook required. You don't have to purchase access to G51 for the projects, there are free options available.

I would take Ortega for this class again 100%. His syllabus is clear cut and easy to understand. His tests are straightforward and you can do very well if you go over his lectures. He even has everything set up where you can complete the course as soon as you want. If you need this course for your degree, take Ortega.

Took Professor Ortega a few semesters ago.. but he was genuinely the best and most memorable professor I've had to this day. Of course at the time classes were still face-to-face, but I would defs take his class again in a heartbeat. His life story is so inspirational and you could tell he very was passionate. I took Professor Ortega's Entr1330 class online and it was the class that cause me the least amount of stress. There was a total of 8 assignments, 5 test and 3 projects, and the lowest one was dropped. The individual projects are not hard and are more like written reports on companies. I would recommend this class, even online.

Really dont understand why anyone gave him less than a 5, far and away the easiest class ive ever taken. This class is zero stress and laughably easy. "Open book" exams which means everything is on quizlet and super easy "projects". 5 exams 3 projects, but he drops one. He really means it when he says he due dates are final, lol. I missed the first assignment because I didn't pay attention that all exams and assignments are due at 8pm and not midnight like regular classes. You can definitely make a A or A+ in his class just don't miss any assignments like me, smh.

He is very straight forward and everything is listed perfectly on the syllabus. Everything is clear and easy to understand. There's 2 written projects and 3 Exams. The projects are super easy. There is no reason for anyone to fail this class. He gives you so much freedom for your projects, I loved it so much. 10/10 If you fail, I would be shocked

Textbook really isn't too necessary, only used really on tests (which a lot of it was really common sense). Really easy A, just keep up with your quizzes and projects and you'll live. There's no real grading rubric for projects but just put in the effort and you'll get a good grade + feedback.

ENTR 3310 in the summer was straightforward and easy. Class had 2 projects (I heard its 3 during regular semester) and five exams MC. He doesn't provide a rubric for the projects and he'll take off points if you don't include something. Wish he gave clear instructions for what he's looking for. Other than that, Ortega is a great choice, take him!

If this class is open take it, class work is beyond manageable. You only have 3 projects which you can choose out of 6 options all very easy and take no more than an hour or two to do if you're competent. As well as 4 open book open note exams. Stop reading, go sign up.

Took the class in Spring 2023 and I finished the entire class in the very first week of school that's how easy this class was. There are 5 Exams (open notes) and 3 Projects which are extremely easy. You only need to do 7 out of the 8 exams OR projects of your choosing. I did 5 exams and 2 Projects and I recommend that for all. Take him at all cost.

This is a very simple course (you got 3 major project and 3 exam ) overall great course.

No lectures just presentations and book. You have 3 projects, 4 exams, and a final exam. Have a lot of time before things are due giving flexibility if you need. Simple projects and you get to use your creativity which makes them fun. You only get 8 grades put in, so if you put effort in and do all assignments you will get an A.

The projects (3) were really easy, guaranteed at least an 85 if you did everything he asked, but do add additional information to your projects to obtain a higher grade, such as graphs or the future stand of a company, etc. He drops the lowest grade, which can be a test (4) or project, so make sure to do well on them. If you fail this class it's simply because you did not do the work! Professor Ortega class was very easy and you still learn a lot. The class consisted of major projects and a few exams. Easiest class ever. Consists of 4 open-book exams and 3 projects which he explicitly allows you to use AI to create them. Only annoying things about this class is that it's fully graded by AI instead of the professor which sometimes may not reflect your actual effort. Also it's annoying how exams and projects are due at 8:00 pm instead of 11:59 pm.

Easiest course ever. Professor loves AI and advises students to use it for projects. 4 exams, 1 final, and 3 projects, graded with the same weight. I finished the class in one week.

Professor Ortega was an awesome professor and this course was great.Although it was an online lecture he provided good feedback and even provided extra credit throughout the semester. Overall, this was an awesome course. (Took it in Spring 2024)
