I took his very first class as a new instructor at AVC, he is really nice, and along as you study you should pass all the tests. He also has a sense of humor. Great teacher

A very good teacher that doesn't mess around and helps you remember test questions. Recommend doing the reports and present them as much as possible. Quizzes come up here and there, so try not to be late. Vocab is a pain in the ass but it's not the worse thing. If I hadn't been lazy and late all the time I probably would have Aced that class.

I took Pinho for AJ 101 and also AJ 102. I took both of those classes online and he was so amazing. If I had to do it over again I diffidently would do it over with this professor. First year at AVC and I enjoyed being in Professor Pinho's class. You can expect what you will be doing on a specific day by looking at the syllabus as he has the whole semester planed out. I would love to take another AJ class with Mr. Pinho, however, AJ is not my major.

Taking him for an online class was the best decision I made due to the great reviews that I've heard in the past. His syllabus is very straight to the point every week there's a post due with a follow up on two other students later in the week which is mandatory. If your organized his class is 100% an easy A and manageable.

Professor Pinho gives a lot of homework but its not too rigorous. all of his assignments are clear and usually follow the same schedule every week. He also gives a lot of extra credit assignments but that comes with the price of no late work, hell make sure to remind you about it so theres no excuse. Buying the textbook is ESSENTIAL.

Great teacher, minimal communication with him personally was needed because his modules are very specific on canvas. Weekly quizzes(10quest.), journal assignments consisting of vocab and PC, and discussions on big topics robbey,rape,burglary,arson the book is needed. No late work. And he had a Starbucks card raffle in the beginning of semester!

I absolutely love taking Prof Pinho's classes! I have taken several of them and he structures his online classes the same way. Discussion boards and homework is very easy. You have to use the book to help with tests. You will learn a lot in any of his classes. I have received A's and B's in his classes.

I enjoy the feedback on assignments, since my course was an online course. I feel more motivated when I am given feedback, either it is negative or positive. I enjoyed the class and extra material examples to help certain law terms etcetera.

He was a pretty chill Professor. Everything was done online. He reminds student about assignments due for the week. He offers plenty of extra credit. He gives you assignments on Monday and they are due Sunday night. Because he gives a whole week for things to be done there is no turning work in late.

Sends lots of things regarding job opportunities and provides great detail on what is required for the class at the beginning. Easy grader on all assignments. Provides lots of support for students via email. easy A as long as you keep up to date with the assignments. However you do learn a lot and there's tons of extra credit opportunities.

For an online class, this was well organized and laid out. All information is available and easy to follow. Grading is done quickly and fairly. Professor Pinho provides additional information along with the text.

Prof. Pinho is a very kind man who cares about his students and their success. All work that is assigned is due at the end of the week on Sunday. There are discussions for the first few weeks and then he assigns reports for the remaining class weeks. He grades work pretty fast and will message you if you haven't completed the exam that is due soon.

Professor Pinho made the course easy to follow and get through during an eight-week course. He gave extra-credit opportunities, and the info learned from those assignments were bonuses! He gave good feedback and encouragement throughout the course. The lessons weren't overwhelming. The class really gave me more insight on my career path. Thanks :)

Professor Pinho is an excellent teacher. His knowledge of criminal justice and all the knowledge he gained from his experience as a law enforcement officer was greatly appreciated. There is homework every week but can be easily done in an hour or two. Tests and quizzes are open-note and multiple-choice.

Turn in the work and listen to his lectures and you will do great.

I recommend this professor to anyone looking to get into the Administration of Justice. Lectures were always insightful, answered questions from students, answered emails quickly, had a sense of humor, and overall a 10/10 professor. I took around 4 courses and got A'a all across.

Great professor and a pretty easy class, take him if you want an easy A. I've taken a few of his classes, I recommend him if your major is AJ. Tbh you can find everything on Quizlet. Assignments are all online. Lecture heavy and he just be yappin. W prof, take notes and do your assignments and you'll be good.

You do get a good amount of reading in this class because you get tested on each chapter, but honestly it's pretty interesting to read the chapters. You learn a lot as well and he even gives extra credit opportunities which is so nice. Work load was just about right and he wasn't exaggerated with his assignments..

I took all of my AJ classes with Mr Pinho that he taught, BEST PROFESSOR EVER hands down that is all i have to say, you will not regret taking him not one time.

This class was a great class, I learned a lot. The work was not the easiest but also not the hardest. I really enjoyed reading all the feedback from the professor on all the assignments submitted. I recommend professor Carlos for anyone interested in taking AJ 101.

AMAZING, if you need some credits or are looking to pursue in AJ, he is the best, my attendance was wonky but he always worked with me. easy work quizzes are online, survived without a textbook. Amazing and so caring and very funny.

I took this class along with two other online classes and it was such a perfect class to have if you're juggling other classes as well. It was a full online class with one to two study guide quizzes in the form of fill out the blanks (with the terms provided in a list) and then a discussion. Professor was caring and understanding, loved this class.

It was a pretty easy online class. Every week, you had to read a chapter, watch some videos, participate in the discussion, and then complete the journal and quiz.

Mr. Pinho is very fair with the deadlines and the class modules were simple and easy to comprehend.

Professor Pinho's teaching style is mostly laid back (that does not mean easy). Especially, in the online course, everything is laid out clearly and it is consistently the same types of assignments. He does give out many extra credit opportunities. Also, he is easy to reach out to when you need clarification or help.

Very easy class and a great professor

This professor is fair and easily understood. The curriculum is satisfying, as long as you stay on track, you will be pleased.

At one point Professor Pinho levitated three feet off the floor and then just stayed there for the whole class period. It was very disconcerting. Otherwise, great professor.

Halfway through semester, Professor Pinho was replaced by an identical Professor Pinho who insists he's always been here. Didn't affect my grade.

A very great teacher Hes very organize and very quick to grade assignments. He doesn't require a lot of homework/assignments. I took him over the fall term 2025. I highly recommend him as a teacher, hes fun and his lectures are so easy to understand. The best teacher Ive taken so far. Very encouraging and offers a lot of extra credit.

Additionally, we have a journal assignment where we define vocabulary words and penal codes. Overall, I liked the structure and content of the course.
