Very helpful
Full of enthusiasm and great at keeping the class engaged in the material. Looked forward to attending his class every week.
awesome class!
Great teacher! Keeps students engaged and keeps a good sense of humor. Is willing to help you out if you need further help wit midterm/final prep. If only more teachers were like him.
Super easy history teacher !!! took him in fall, got a B but didn't even try !! Don't even need the book!! Recommended. Easy going teacher, super nice.
Not the same since he shaved his beard, looks kind of like a naked mole rat.
Great Professor! Always prepared and enthusiastic to teach. He grades essay format, but is always willing to help you understand the basic format one needs when writing essays. He will go as far as giving his class a writing workshop for those interested. If you take good notes and listen, you will do just fine.
Very good teacher!Really enjoyed taking his class. You gotta take notes if you want to do well on the tests. I struggled at the beginning, but was able to improve by taking better notes. Definitely recommend taking him.
Love Mr. Ramirez! He is a great instructor and is very helpful! Take lots of notes to help you out for the tests. He lets you use notes for the tests because they're essay based tests. History was never more interesting than in his class.
I love Mr.Ramirez!!! Best history teacher, he is a good teacher. Very helpful, makes class very interesting and fun.I didn't love history till I took him. I really recommended him, take him if you want to learn about history
Great professor! Class is very interesting even being history! Love him!
i didn't use to like history until i took him. he makes jokes in class that make history interesting, it is needed to take notes in class to pass, very comprehensive and helpful, he will explain everything clearly. quizzes are easy if you read.
Terrific instructor that is very helpful. All exams are essay based so if you're a good writer you'll do well. He explains the material well & will go over it again to make sure you understand. He looks a tad like Horatio Sanz
I wouldn't recommend this professor. He gave me back exams which were essay format based and they were all too vague and general. He gave me a 5/50 on my first exam, not because the information wasn't correct but because I didn't put into "paragraphs". My chances at an A were ruined. DO NOT TAKE.
he made me like history. he is really fun and he likes the Beatles. he is awesome. take him.
I love this professor!! I had to retake this class because I got a D with my last professor I hate history but Mr Ramirez's teaching style made me love history. Quiz weekly for the weekly readings, 3 midterms in which he allows you to bring a I page of notes to help +final take good notes. He is supper funny you will not be bored. Take him!!
This professor is very fun. I always looked forward to attending his class. He makes boring subjects fun. His class mostly consists of him giving oral lectures and students taking notes. Very old-school. Nevertheless, he manages to keep the student's attention. Exams are essays, though. The norm is to support your argument with historical facts.
Great professor! I became a history major because of him. You only take 2 essay exams: midterm and final but you can use a page of notes. no homework! pay attention to lectures. he might give reading quizzes but they are easy if you skim. he loves questions & makes history seem very exciting! easy, fun, and you actually remember what you learned
Amazing instructor! I also became a history major because of him.
Finding a teacher that cares about his students as much as he does isn't common. He is a great instructor very entertaining and informative. His lectures are fun and clear. He makes history fun, and is pretty funny. Really recommend taking him. He's amazing, you will enjoy his class and learn a lot.
I loved Mr. Ramirez, His class was so entertaining and informative. I actually created my fall class schedule around taking another one of his classes! Highly recommend taking his classes, but please appreciate him, not many teachers care about their students as much as he does.
He's an excellent teacher! I learned so much in his class & not once did I dislike to be there. He is very informative & explains in detail the history. Definitely keeps you entertained whether he's being funny or in gen the topics are always interesting. He cares about his students & their learning outcome. You wont regret taking him believe me.
Professor Ramirez is amazing! I absolutely loved this class so much! He is a very interesting teacher and knows what he is talking about! Recommend him 100%
made history fun, lectures were never boring and showed us clips related to the topic. only 2 midterms and the final easy and allows you to bring one sheet o paper with notes to help you write your essay. if your a good writer you'll be fine in his class.
Great professor, makes history fun and relevant for those who find it boring. Professor Ramirez is the best instructor I've ever had!!!
Carlos is probably one of the best professors I've ever had at ELAC. Every lecture was riveting and he tells it with passion. I almost changed my major to history! Besides that, he's the funniest professor at ELAC! trust me you won't regret taking this class
Carlos as he likes being called is an amazing, understanding, and wonderful professor. He went over my mid-terms with me and explained what I needed to do so I could reach the grade I needed. You must be honest with him and he will be honest with you. Like any other class you must work for your grade. You must read the readings to pass.
He speaks fast & doesn't let you record or slows down. He flys through the information, makes you do group readings. Is all about ANALYZING the reading. Quizzes are easy, if he forgets them he just gives everyone A's. His voice draws you into what he's saying & makes you WANT to pay attention.
Prof. Ramirez is amazing, up to day he has been the best professor ive taken at ELAC. He treats you like a real college students. The way he teaches makes you want to got to class every time. I have enrolled into his other history 12 class. You get 4 essays that are short response 2 page each . 2 for midterm and 2 for final. Lectures are fun !!!!!!
Although Ramirez is a very nice man I do not recommend him. This class is based off notes, everything he says you better write. He does not let you record and there are no slides. Two midterms and a final, both essays. He won't tell you the prompt till the day of the tests. That leaves 11 ch's to study for each test. Over half of the class dropped.
Professor Ramirez is really great. His exams, which will be written, are based on his lectures so it's important to take really good notes. His lectures are amazing. You will need the book for the quizzes, which in my case were ever Friday. Best of luck !
Give clear examples to prove your claims and you will pass his written midterm and final. Weekly five question multiple choice quizzes based off the textbook reading. Often goes off topic but brings it back to the lecture's main point. Take notes on the main points and events, not the excessive details about random white males named John or James.
Very good Professor! He is not easy if you are lazy about taking notes. He will lecture like a college professor should. He has a great way of telling stories and engages you. After my midterm, I read his remarks and realized I did not back up my claims with good supporting details. I did really good on my final following his feedback.
Interesting and engaging lectures and overall great teacher. Very helpful and patient. Always willing to discuss topics further after class. Introduces interesting perspectives. Expects critical thinking and thoughtfulness on exams, which are short written essays. Be ready to take notes in lecture!
Amazing history teacher! Lectures are interesting and he keeps the class upbeat with his funny jokes. I took him for Winter, which was a 5 week course and never was there a dull moment in his class. In order to do well in his class you have to read the assigned readings for the quizzes, pay attention in class and take good notes.
Prof. Ramirez is an amazing, inspirational instructor. I LOVED his class; he made me love and appreciate History. His style of lecturing is fun, engaging, and intriguing. He can be pretty funny too. His midterms and final require you to ANALYZE, that's the key. He is fair grader. Wish I could have taken him for Hist 12. Highly recommend!
Hands down best professor at elac. Loved his teaching style, so professional yet down to earth and approachable. Not a dull moment in his class. Would definitely recommend him to anyone interested in history.
I don't like history but Ramirez made it interesting and funny. He doesn't use powerpoints so be prepared to take notes as he talks. You need to read the chapter before he lectures about it because at the beginning of class he gives a short quiz on the chapter and he doesn't give homework. If I could take him again, I would.
This was one of my favorite classes i have taken at elac
Carlos has a teaching style that is extremely unique anywhere. He is engaging, intriguing, he knows how to get an entire class to listen, its almost like story telling. He is so hilarious it hurts, and his exams are not difficult. He gives random quizzes the first 5 min of class and 2 midterms along with 1 final, all essays. Amazing instructor!
Professor Ramirez is by far the best history teacher. His lectures are super intriguing and i learned so much. Make sure to take really good notes anything he says or takes time talking about write it down it'll probably be part of the prompt of the essay midterms. Easy group work. He is funny and makes time fly by with his lectures.
Professor Ramirez is a funny professor. He makes lectures funny however, this is not an easy class. You have to be responsible to learn the history content that he is teaching and be able to remember it. There are surprise quizzes and class participation points so you cannot miss class. No slides on notes. Doesn't allow recorders. No extra credit.
Pretty boring.
Wonderful Professor! However, I underestimated the level of difficulty. Writing is not my strong suit. If you want to do well, take a lot of notes because you are going to be asked to analyze and answer essay questions. NO MULTIPLE CHOICE AT ALL. Worth taking though, Mr. Ramirez is one of the best teachers I've taken here at ELAC.
Be on time because gives quizzes at the beginning of class and be ready to take some notes. He tries to make his lectures as fun as possible because he know history can be a bit boring for students. Reading textbook is important to pass quizzes.
I've taken Ramirez so many times. He's fun, interactive, and hilarious! he knows his history & makes his classes interesting. All of his classes are based on 2 in-class midterms 1 final quizzes and participation. TAKE NOTES; one does not simply forget to take notes in his class. YOU WILL FAIL if yo don't. i strongly recommend his classes.
Aweful! no one got an A in his class! He is extremely tough on grading. Don't take his class if you don't want to ruin your GPA!
Mr. Ramirez is honestly the best history teacher ! He's funny and makes history interesting so his class goes by fast. Make sure to be on time because he gives quizzes the first five minutes of class. (They're easy if you do the reading) the midterms are not too hard if you take good notes and study. I highly recommend this class you wont regret it
Professor Ramirez's lectures are entertaining in that they consist of humor and the actual truth of a certain event in history. Likewise, the class is pretty chill in that you take notes and leave. The midterm/final requires you to memorize your notes for potential prompts. Overall, this professor is worth taking in that he makes history fun.
Great professor! His lectures are pretty interesting and funny. Take good notes and participate. Gives pop quizzes the first 5 minutes of class on readings from the textbook. I recommend this class!
Great professor! He really makes you work for your grade so if you're looking for an easy A he sure isn't the professor for you. His classes are always interesting and he is funny which makes it a pleasure to go to class every time. Take good notes (seriously) and ask questions if you have some. DON'T forget to read!
Professor Ramirez is one of the most caring and interesting professors i have ever had. His lectures were amazing and he made history an interesting subject to learn about. His examples were so clear and i left every class understanding every bit of information he gave. Do the reading before coming to class and be prepared to take notes.
If you don't read ahead in this class, you won't pass. Even if you take great notes, he talks much too fast to write down everything valuable before he busts a joke and makes the class laugh. Pop quizzes pretty much every week. No make-up anything. Not even if you've been hospitalized for some serious injury. He's a cool guy, but not a teacher.
LOVE LOVE Professor Ramirez! Ramirez for President! You can tell he went to UCLA. Very smart, nice, and inspirational. Make sure to take notes and understand the topics in depth to be able to think critically and give good supporting details on your essays.
Ramirez is by far one of the most passionate professors I know inside & outside of the classroom. I have taken roughly 3 classes with him & he has allowed me to bombard him with existential questions about life, the history of religion, & transferring. Because of his inspiration, I stayed in school and continued my education and am now at UCB.
He's an ok teacher he is hard the quizzes are every day when you take a winter class every point counts
If you dont take good notes or is the type of student to leave early or skip class dont do it .
He is not mean and explains history very well. He goes really in depth and is passionate about while teaching. The quizzes are half of your grade and his tests are essay based. He is a very tough grader and does not offer extra credit.
He is a great teacher and very kind but he grades tough and it is hard to get an A.
He pretty much makes you do most of the work yourself and quizzes you before his lecture. He wants you to read ahead but if you don't you fail but even if you do read you can still fail. No quiz dates there random. Yes he hands out pop quizzes on things he has not gone over. No extra credit / HW. Grade is heavily on 2 exams which is an ESSAY.
Loved Mr. Ramirez! Made history fun. He is passionate about teaching & truly cares about his students. However, dont underestimate his grading because he is such a sweet person. He does not give away grades. That means, listen, take notes, & be on time because pop quizzes are at the beginning of class. Midterm & Final are in essay format.
go to class, read, study for quizzes which are based on your homework readings and take notes during lecture. if you didn't get something he said in a lecture ask him to repeat himself and he will. the midterm was easy as long as you review your notes. and the geographical quizzes are easy just study. just do the work which is not a lot
He's an amazing teacher, He really draws you in with his lectures and it comes in handy for quizzes and tests. Overall the BEST teacher I've had this semester
Before i took this class, i had no idea about History & to be honest, it really did not intrigue me at all. But professor Ramirez completely blew me away. he is very passionate about the subject and he explains history so well. You MUST read chapters before class in order to pass the quizzes. usually 1 quiz weekly. take his class. u wont regret it.
there are 10 pop quizzes and are completely random. the quizzes are the first 5 mins of class and if youre more than 5 mins late you fail them, and they count for 100 points of your final grade! he is actually a really smart professor and lectures are very interesting and entertaining, but overall he is an extremely hard grader and would not rec
Professor Ramirez is excellent. His lectures are very interesting and are fun to attend. He made learning history enjoyable. A downside is that he does have random quizzes every week as well as readings which really do affect your grade if you miss. So if you miss class more than two days your grade will be jeopardized. You will also fall behind.
He is amazing. I actually looked forward to sitting in on his lectures every week. He does have quizzes every week (that's what moved me from an A to a B), so make sure to read your book. Everything on his end though, is on point. I highly recommend him to anyone.
He is so funny, he real made history very interesting. I had an amazing time in his class.
Professor Ramirez is a chill dude. He make his lectures entertaining and fun. You won't be sleepy in his class! But he's a fair and tough grader too. So, you also have to work your butt off to pass his class. Meaning, you have to read a chapter in advance before going into his class for you to take the quiz for 5 mins. Remember, you snooze you lose!
Great professor that makes history interesting. 10 quizzes 100 points total (10x1) Primary source analysis, midterm in class essay, final 2 in class essays. You really have to read every chapter, take good lecture notes, and study. Essays are easy if you study and know how to write a supportive response
He is great! His whole class he lectures on a chapter he assigned to read the night before. However he is one of those professors that intrigues you and actually makes learning fun. I absolutely hated history but he made after taking his class my perspective has shifted. Not an easy A but you can definitely earn one! (& several opp. for EC)
Professor Ramirez is a great professor. His lectures are always interesting and never boring. He makes history fun.
Professor Ramirez is the best history teacher at ELAC, he makes it very interesting and tries to make us laugh all the time. There are 10 quizzes (100 points total), you cannot make them up nor the readings so you HAVE to show up! They are very easy as long as you go over your notes and read the chapters. He says he doesn't offer EC but he does lol
Professor Ramirez, is a great history professor. Presents the truth of United States history. Be prepared to read & take the quizzes every week. You want to earn a good grade, then you need to pay attention & take good notes. He is not easy but By the same token, its only difficult if you do not study. He is well respected.
He lectures a lot, but it's great! It's very easy to take notes, and if you have questions or comments he will help you understand. Just do the readings on the book, review your notes and you WILL PASS!
Professor Ramirez's lectures are very engaging and easy to follow. Note-taking is a must for his class because the midterm and final are based on his lectures. The quizzes are usually based on the readings from the textbook, so if you read on time and take notes, the class should not be too difficult! I had a wonderful time.
professor Ramirez is a very well educator he makes history not borning at all. he connects the material with today's world makes everything simple for you to understand. BE A GREAT NOTE TAKER if you don't take notes you won't pass. you must read MUST I'm not a strong reader but how he explains how to read it made it way easier.
He doesn't teach zoom at all and is not an understanding professor when you need something. He is a very tough grader especially on the questions that are due every week by that meaning if your answers doesn't make sense thats already an automatically fail, this class is not it
I think his style works during normal times, but doesn't work online. His lesson plans were unclear and buried in a really long recorded Zoom that he uploaded where he kinda rambled for a long time, causing a lot of the class to turn in assignments incorrectly. He is also not consistent with what time he posts grades, but is very strict w deadlines
I wanted this give this professor the benefit of the doubt but his format to turn in homework is a fail. He completely takes forever to grade or is really strict on what you have to say in your readings after every chapter. Dont choose this professor for online teaching and Ive took a hard class before, this tops the cake. This is my experience.
He completely takes forever to grade. I had submitted a couple of assignments that were on time and he never graded them. The questions that are due every week if your answers doesn't match his answer thats already an automatically fail. Dont choose this professor for online teaching. Hes just bad.
It seems as if this professor didn't do as well when class went online. His grading on RMP used to be so high (before COVID). Homework is graded as if it were to be a quiz/exam. Zero resources to communicate with classmates, I felt as if I took the class alone. Lots of reading and heavy/strict grading for a class with a lack of learning.
I really enjoy listening to Professor Ramirezs lectures. I have a friend who took him and recommended him. Unfortunately, Covid was not in the plans and I was looking forward to in class lectures. Listen to his lectures a create a study outline as you listen. As far as grading, DO NOT TURN IN LATE WORK! AND, do not copy paste! He will catch you!
Honestly speaking. Don't take this professor if you're trying to learn or receive a good grade. Judges you for every WORD you submit when typing essays or paragraph assignments. This class is asynchronous and is good if you can stand his work and foolish grading system if you needed a class for credits. Overall, WORST PROFESSOR!
Grading system is rigged. Bad at english because you come from a foreign country? Good luck, every word you say on an assignment is seen and your points will be heavily deducted.
WORST WORST WORST WORST PROFESSOR!!!!! Taking this guy for online class. This is way worse than a strict/tough grading professor for an English class. If you're still in this pandemic and taking it as an online class, you won't have any information at all besides the assignments he post which is graded like an exam. Points for vague info is deductd
History is hard for me, as a second language I have to write down the lecture word by word and look for dictionaries. Professor Ramirez's lectures are amazing. I learned so much from him. Though this is my first B in an entire year, I learned the most from this class. History can be very interesting if you really concentrate on his lecture.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFEESSOR. HE IS A VERY TOUGH GRADER. HE SAYS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS IN YOUR OPINION, YET STILL FAILS YOU.
Please, for the love of God, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He is VERY strict. One of the toughest graders EVER. Personally, I did not learn anything in his class. History is not a difficult subject, but he makes it so hard that you constantly have to ask questions. Then, when you ask questions, he does NOT answer them specifically. Beware...
Mr. Ramirez is a great lecturer! I thoroughly enjoyed his online lectures. I love History and listening to his lectures during my walks just made my day. All essay tests do dont expect him to be an easy pass teacher. He truly cares that you demonstrate an understanding for History as a college student (not like high school lol).
If your a history major take this professor he is really passionate about his work and you will learn a lot. Since I am NOT a history major I couldn't be passionate about the 5 small papers you have to do. This is all you have to do during a regular spring session BUT make sure you follow his INSTRUCTIONS and you'll be fine.
He is a tough grader for sure so be aware if you are not the best at writing. The essays are based on his lectures not the textbook, don't even bother reading. He really just wants to make sure you are watching his lectures I guess. He can be understanding if he wants to be just be honest with him.
I took him for a summer course online & at first was very intimidated due to his strictness. ALL the assignments he gave us were 1-3 paged papers (5 total to be exact). You read, watch lectures & analyze. My strong suit is writing and so it wasn't really difficult for me, but if writing & reading is not your strongest subject I wouldn't recommend.
Amazing lectures and he is the nicest Professor! Ive taken 3 of his classes and he made me want to know more history because of him. He really loves to teach and is really caring towards his students. He goes above and beyond in helping students! HIGHLY recommend and the paragraph brief essays are few, spread apart and super easy, one of the best!
The rudest professor I had at ELAC! Gives so much attitude through email and makes you feel dumb if you ask for help. Don’t recommend taking his course at all!!
If you want an easy class, don't take him, but if you want to learn, take him.
He is passionate about the subject and can bring some needed humor to class. His class helped me improve my writing. The professor is engaging. I took him in an in person class.
I was hesitant to take the instructor because some negative feedback on rate my professor, but after taking his class, I learned so much. If you look at the negative comments, they seem to come from people that don't want to work hard. Ramirez is awesome and really cares about his students. He is not an easy A, but it's college, get over it.
I'm not a fan of online classes and it's clear that the professor also does not like teaching online. His lectures are recorded for the class I took which was asynchronous. His lectures are very clear and are really good. The answers to the exams are in his lectures. Just take good notes. I really liked the class because I learned so much.
This guy is very strict on due dates and times, but I did learn a bunch of history.
Mr. Ramirez was a great teacher will definitely take one of his courses again. Discussion mid-term and final are crucial.
Proff. Ramirez had amazing lectures that were clear and organized. This was an online course and from the very start he had a clear grading criteria with a list of assignments and exams. The work is manageable and his grading is very fair. As long as you read, watch the lectures, and take good notes then you will do well in this class.
lectures were clear and organized. This was an online summer course and all assignments are given at the beginning. There were manageable assignments daily. To get a good grade watch the lectures, and take good notes.
I took the class in the summer, so it was a fast pace. Take Notes, listen to his lecture and he does not take late hw.
Such a great professor, you get 1 quiz with class discussion per week just off the lecture. You will have about 5 papers including midterm and final all MLA format 1-2 pages. Text book is provided but not really used
It was winter class. Be ready that all materials and his lectures open at 12 am and all assignments include everyday discussion post 300 words minimum on weird philosophical themes due to 11 pm the same day. Plus some paragraphs and final essay. Reading proximately 10-20 pages almost every day. And this class was asynchronous, but in a frame of day
The class was fast-paced and I sometimes felt overwhelmed with work because there were about 10 to 12 pages of the textbook to read daily, however, this is understandable because this was like a 12-week class shoved into only 4 weeks in the winter session. 300-word discussion response is required practically almost every day. DOES NOT TAKE LATEWORK
Professor Ramirez is a wonderful educator, mentor, and all around human being. His classes are pretty straightforward, do the readings, show up on time, take the quizzes, pay attention to lectures, take notes; the midterm and final can seem daunting initially but he gives plenty of advanced warning so the prompts should not come as a surprise.10/10
Professor Ramirez and his classes are always interesting, never dull, reasonable, and practical. Just put in the work, be willing to learn and you'll do well.
The epitome of history professors, passionate as they come, amusing, understanding, and caring as can be.
One of the most fascinating classes I've had the pleasure of taking and it couldn't have been with a better professor. Just follow the syllabus and you'll do well.
This was one of the first courses I took at ELAC, passing this course and the encouragement from Professor Ramirez showed me that I did infact belong in college and was not in fact in over my head.
Amazing professor! Learned a lot from his class. Lots of lectures (where you take your own notes, readings, & 1 quiz every start of the week, but as long as you read the material, take notes, you'll be set. Sometimes, there's extra credit (revising a past assignment at tutoring, etc). Study for midterm & final! He'll give a time era to write about.
Great professor! Took him for winter & yes, it's a lot more lecture heavy. Video lecture every day (I recommend taking your own notes), take a 10 multiple choice quiz, and write a discussion post (300 words max). Winter class is a lot more fast paced than in person class (I've had him for both), so don't procrastinate & keep up with assignments.
Amazing professor! He is very passionate and makes his lectures very fun. I never found history interesting till I took this class! Make sure to attend the lectures because he covers many things that can help you on the midterm and final. He provides extra credit if you go to tutoring. Make sure to read the chapters before heading to class.
Ramirez is a great professor who made everyone laugh throughout the semester and is easy to talk to and encourages questions to be asked. Definitely don't skip class because his papers rely on the lectures which are fun. And read and take notes every week for the quizzes. It's a bit of hard work but its a fun class with a fun professor who cares.
Although I failed with a D, that was a bad part on my end i came in class super late didn't follow assignment instructions until last minute, but. Professor Ramirez is a really great teacher he's very expressional and funny with his lectures he provides office hours, and i hate myself for not taking advantage of that, Overall, amazing but STRICT!
Amazing professor, wish I had taken his in person class, but couldn't bc I chose the 8-week course. Assignments are easy and as someone who finds history boring, prof. Ramirez's lectures were so interesting, it's crazy. Ramirez won't accept late work at all, but is very generous with extensions, replies to emails quickly and is willing to help.
Prof. Ramirez really made me appreciate history and you can tell that he really loves the subject. Always put his heart into explaining historical events and topics and even cracked jokes about the topic, but of course this doesn't mean it will be an easy class you need to make sure you read and pretty much memorize each assigned chapter to do well
He gives a lot of small tests and analytical work and is a tough grader. You'll need to go to tutoring to really understand what he wants in his papers, but his lectures are some of the best, super interesting.
Professor Ramirez is great! You will learn a lot, He is vary passionate about history, Wish i would have taken this class in person.
The professor gives great lectures. I feel like I learned a lot, but he assigns TOO much work. We had to complete multiple discussion responses, quizzes, other writing assignments, and essays for midterm and final. He doesn't accept late work, so be ready to work.
I thought this prof was really engaging and made usually boring lectures entertaining, the reason for my low rating is because despite msg of my temp illness i was still removed(TIA i pay OOP), the syllabus doesn't mention his reasoning of having to msg him everyday if ur sick. My mental health got affected, all i needed was a bit of kindness, TYA.
His online class lectures are abt 1 hour long and all the quizzes and papers are based on them. Being a winter course there is a paper almost every day. His criteria and grading aren't that strict. But he has no expectations regarding late work. He probably won't accept it, no matter what excuse it is, so I had to drop this class.
Took his class online class in spring 2025, great professor. The lectures are fun to watch. Two assignments per week, an easy quiz, and small summary discussion. Finally, this is the best online class I have taken. Make sure to turn things in on time, and follow the rubric, as in you shouldn't put your opinion in the discussion, just summarize.
Awesome guy! Great for history majors. Take notes on what he's actually saying and not just what's on the slides. If you want an easy pass, this class aint 4 u. Attendance is crucial to passing. No Phones allowed. Funny AF. Very engaging. Not lenient! if you miss a quiz there is no make up. Very resourceful and caring. Great experience in his class
Professor Ramirez is a fantastic professor! I've been fortunate enough to have taken 3 of his classes and I enjoyed all of them. His exams do require you to draw material from his lectures since they are essay-based questions but just show up, take good notes and you'll be fine.He is very passionate, funny and caring. I definitely recommend
I took professor Ramirez in the Spring 2025 semester and he is one of the best professors I've had! It was an in-person class and he prefers that you take your notes on paper, but will allow typed ones. Textbook is provided on canvas and you read 1ch. each week. Short quizzes & in-class discussion weekly. makes history so interesting
