He is a extremely easy teacher.. If you want an A by not having to do tons of work take his class. Just do the lecture notes and you can pass easily

Exellent teacher, gives clear information on what will be on test, midterms, quizes. His class lectures are very interesting and easy to understand.

the textbook is thin and cheap with a sixth grade reading level. ramos tought exactly from the book word for word and the quizes were 5 question scantron. that class was so easy i regret not working that semester to "focus" on my classes. its very hard to get in his class.

He's nice and easy going. He has interesting lectures and is very clear about the material. we had just a small paper and some quizzes and 2 tests. but there are group assignments, pick your group wisely. overall, a fun class and great teacher.

Easy going and fairly easy teacher. He made the subject interesting. Very down to earth and kinda cute.

Very cool professor, also very educated in his matter of speaking. Just apply yourself and shouldn't have any problem recieving a fair grade.

He was a good teacher....showed pretty good films and class and his lectures didnt kill me with boredom. He explains everything clearly and is pretty easy. You know exactly what will be on tests. It was all around a pretty enjoyable class and teacher

He is a great professor. Absolutely love him. He is totally nice (and cute). Makes class fun and interesting. It is true he always smiles. You have to do a lot of group work, so pick your group wisely. Overall, great class, great professer; totally recommend.

Very nice teacher. the quizzes are super easy and he always gives out a study guide before an exam, so if you study that, you'll get a good grade. lots of group work and a presentation. i barely studied for this class and received a good grade.

He's a great teacher, what can I say.

Easy class if u do minimal studying. Majority of assignments are in Groups. A few papers to write. Gives plenty of extra credit for those who need it. Gives study guides to test but not quizzes, though quizzes are fairly simple if u read assignments. Lectures can be boring at times.

Easy class. Must be IN class for group works. He says he gives 4 pop quizzes but ends up giving only one.Midterms, finals, reaction papers are so easy! He's very nice, simple, and straight to the point. I'd say 80 percent of the stuff that's on the his midterms are from the stuff discussed in class. So, if you're lazy to read the text, go to class.

really easy.. take him he gives outlines for tests so u know whats gonna be on there and most of the answers for the outlines are from your notes in class so take really good notes.

Ramos is an amazing instructor. He's passionate about his work and is very interesting! As long as you follow along in class and study you'll get an A! He's fair. You wont pass the class if you don't know the material. Definetely a fun subject, never put me to sleep! Take him...! So sad class was over!

lots of lectureing and it can get a little old after a while. He gos through everyting and explains the material well. There are lots of group projects in this class.

Mr. Ramos is a really cool person, and he realy wants his student's to do well. His class is easy to pass if you study, but his lectures can be quite boring at times. He is not quite capable of getting the entire class involved, so it really takes individual focus on your part to stay awake and in tune. He's a new professor, so he will improve.

mr. ramos is a great teacher.. the quiz is exactly the same questions on the test!.. if u study the q'z on the quiz u will pass the test. He even gives u the answers to the quiz. So there is no way, that u cant fail the test!.. his lectures is okkay, u just have to pay attention to what he is saying!!.

Mr. Ramos is great!!. He has an awkward way of lecturing, but he is really passionate about sociology and it shows. He is also very helpful and sparks up interesting class discussions.

i wasnt that impressed, there is 12 homework assignments which are easy to forget about, there is a huge project that is sorta random for a sociology class and he is super hard to read. I do not think he liked me much, but he is nice and fair i guess that is all you need

Mr. Ramos is probably the nicest teacher I've ever had! The class is not hard at all. If you come to class everyday and do all the assignments, the lowest grade you'll probably get is a B. Yes, there are several assignments, quizzes, and a final project; however, they're all fairly easy. He also gives review sheets for the exams-very helpful!

Prof. Ramos is awesome! supper nice guy very helpful, if you do all your assignments, show up to class, and take good notes you'll do great! Only thing for his essays make sure you write about material he has said in class he will give you point even if your answer isn't all there..=) i got an A both times i took him!

Awesome teacher. Very patient with a class full of D students;he did a great job of compensating for the lack of motivation amongst the abundance of crappy students. Even the girl who can't read learned something. Highly recommended. And he is knowledgable in his subject-if only all teachers were.

Mr.Ramos is one of the most intelligent professors i know, he know his stuff. i enjoyed his class a lot! there is a lot of reading but hello this is college! TAKE HIM! he is very helpful just stop by during his office hours and he'll help you.

Professor Ramos is a really forward-thinking, tolerant, open minded guy! I've taken two of his classes and been very happy. Participation is important, but you'll want to.

Ramos is one of the best teachers at LBCC, there is alot of homework and alot of reading but he grades easy and is very helpful. He's very soft spoken and makes the class laugh alot. He's very knowledgeable on alot of subjects so you'll definitely learn something. I got an A and thought it was one of the easiest classes I've taken in awhile.

He is not hard or easy...(just right)! He gives extra credit, and he is always willing to help! He gives you lots of hints in test and quizzes. All of his questions from the quizzes are added to the test! I Highly recommend him!

If you don't read your textbook then your gonna fall behind, quizes and test are super easy if your read your book. Material can get hard if you fall behind in your reading. But hes super nice and understanding, he will work with you during office hours and he's always in a good mood!

Good man. Very knowledgeable, easy to follow, too. He's very nice, but too nice. His students in Socio 11 didn't take him as seriously as he took them which is sad. Anyway, easy tests, easy homework, easy all around. I got a C but it was my fault, he wants you to get an A. Highly recommended.

Great instructor. Very easy class. just do the homework, read, and study. He also gives you the study guides for the exams.

Nice, laid back, & caring. Reading, group assignments, 6short quizzes, 1 big group research project,3 exams & drops lowest score. Really gives u a chance to do well in his class. Totally recommend him. Class was interesting/fun. He even brought us cookies on the last day...so sweet! <3

Really great teacher! The first day of school I was worried because as he went over the syllabus the class seemed like a ton of work. I'm glad I stuck it out because it actually was not as much work as I thought. I learned alot from this class and would take Ramos again. He's a very nice person and a great teacher.

Professor Ramos is great. He truly cares about what he teaches and his students. The lectures can be dry sometimes, but make the effort to go to class because some of the things he goes over are on the quizzes/tests. Do the readings and written assignments and you'll be fine. There are 3 tests and a project that are really easy. Take him!

Whoever said Mr Ramos was not helpful is on drugs. Nicest guy ever, makes class interesting, is very helpful at all times. He's willing to go out his way to help you succeed. Yes there's homework, quizzes, and a presentation but this is college. You have to expect that. Show up to class, do your homework, study for quiz/test and participate in class and you'll get at least a C. Real open minded and is a grad of UCLA and USC. Gotta respect him.

Super easy class. Quiz questions and exam questions in readings. Do the homework and get an A. Ramos is super helpful, almost obnoxiously friendly. Ramos and another teacher made me want to change to Social Sciences major.

I've taken him twice and he's a great teacher. He seems hard on the first day going over the syllabus but it's manageable as you stick through it. Yes, YOU HAVE TO READ THE TEXT PEOPLE! IT'S COLLEGE! I don't get why people always want the easy way out. Read the book, go over the slides he sends you, and study...you'll get an A or B. :)

Took the class online. It was work, but managed to get A. The thing that makes this class more work is when the rest of the class waits until the last minute to post responses on the forum because Ramos grades you on 3 responses:1 response to his prompt and 2 more to students' responses. This made me have to wait and then cram at the last minute.

Easy class if u do the readings (short usually) do the assignmentsand show up. He is very charismatic and is always willing to help or go over things. One of the reasons why I will major in sociology :)

I took his class during the summer and he was easy. There was a quiz every week but they were easy. It was a waste of money to buy a book though because the powerpoint lectures came from the book. The assignments were easy including the project. As a person he's cool but as a professor he's kind of boring. Easy class though!

Ramos is an amazing teacher! Sociology of Latinos is also a great class to take if you're hispanic, learn a lot. Goes off power points but mostly discussion ON power points. Gives study guides on readings from 2 assign. books. Goes by syllabus schedule, very willing to help. Make sure you have a printer (most things need 2 b typed) Would take again

I took Sociology of Latinos with Ramos and he introduced many interesting points. Would definitely recommend this class! He clearly states his expectations for assignments, and his testsquizzes are fairly easy if you are engaged in class discussions. He's always willing to address any concerns after class. Pretty solid course.

supper chill vibe, really understanding if u go to his office hours. we are all in college so the readings, assignments, books didn't bother me but compared to other professors who make it mission impossible to pass a class, he is very straight forward. read, pay attention in class don't miss & take good notes u should do fine.

This class was very interesting to take and informative, Tests are not that hard did not study for them and still passed, couple of quizzes here and then, and a 5-6 page final project at the end, pretty easy as long as you don't procrastinate to get it done.

This is an easy class if you turn in all the homework, listen to the teacher, study for the tests. It is straightforward material. His lectures are from the textbook. H is tests and homework are easy. Make sure you don't get lazy and keep up with the homework. Project: choice between BLAST volunteer work + essay on the experience or essay.

Professor Ramos is a good professor. His lectures are interesting but sometimes I got bored. There is a lot of papers but they are easy one or two pages not bad. You also need to do a presentation with a PowerPoint. One midterm and the final. His class was interesting, fun and easy.

Hes very nice! He is always smiling , gets off topic at times to make you smile! He posts grades kind of slow though but overall hes a nice professor . He is super kind and always wants to help understand the conceptS of each lecture

PROS: This class is super easy as long as you attend the lectures. He is a very open-minded professor, but still sensitive. His discussions and lectures are fun! CONS: He does not responds to any e-mails or messages, so you have to keep on track. I also recommend always checking canvas for your assignments because he will not remind you for those.

He knows everything that he is talking about and you can always ask him questions during lectures. He is one of the kindest professor I have ever taken, he will understand and accept late works. Quizzes are easy as 1,2,3. As long as you make sure that you study for midterms and finals, they will be easy too. ALWAYS Check canvas for assignments!!!

very easy class if your busy with work, you turn in assignments every other sunday, majority of the homework is vocabulary in your own words plus a few questions, every week theres a quiz on the chapters that you have to do for each week with 5 questions 12 mins in total, also theres about 2 papers the whole semester

He is very boring. Assigns a lot of homework but it is easy busy work. Study guides are oddly put together and kinda help for the tests. Quizzes and tests were pretty easy, you just have to study a tiny bit. Got to miss the final because he drops one test which I really liked. Huge end of the year research paper that was easy but took a lot of time

PROS: Very nice prof, wants students to do well, free online textbook, good lectures, open-minded and caring, hw due every sunday (consistent schedule) CONS: not great at replying to emails, didn't fully explain our paper requirements until the day before it was due, inputs grades way after they're due, did not zoom used discussion posts instead

Prof Ramos might give a heavy work load, but it is worth it. SOCIO 1H is hard, but it makes you learn about a lot. Ramos is very understandable, and just wants the best for you, he is awesome!

Textbook is free and is a very nice and understanding professor, and also group assignments are most likely part of every class lecture.

I took him for the last 8-week session. He's boring with lectures, but he's a great teacher. He doesn't respond to emails on time, so that was stressful. It was a lecture, then 1 group assignment in class, and then 1 discussion and 1 quiz due every week. Gives good amount of extra credit/free textbooks. Attendance is only for participation points.

Loved his whole course ! The course book. every article, lecture, video! Absolutely enjoyed this class as my first class coming back and I would take it all over again!

Prof. Ramos' class is very good, and I did enjoy it though at times it was a bit tedious. Each module is 2 weeks apart and there are tons of articles, videos and readings to go through followed by a worksheet, discussion board and quiz. Overall a good class but very reading heavy
