tests were difficult, but teacher was very forgiving with grades. class videos were great, but lectures were boring. he is a fair teacher.

I took the online class, and i could say that the extra money is totally worth it. You have quizzes every friday, which if you read the notes he gives you, its easy. There is one group project and you have to write a discussion forum every week aslo.If you miss a quiz for some reason, just write him an email and he will let you retake it. take him!

I took the online course for Prof. Suris. He quickly responds when you try to contact him, makes available much information on the topics, and is very very fair and cares about his students. The class wasn't hard although taking quizzes every friday and doing discussions every sunday got to be very hard to remember.

I recommend taking him online. I paid $299 for a great grade in the class. It was VERY worth it =)

First half of class is very boring but easy as long as you read the notes and skim the readings. He puts EVERYTHING online. If you read notes twice and glance over readings, you will get an A on every test. Second half of class gets more fun and he's really laid back and cool. Take him.

Take a suppliement to stay awake in his class. It is easy to fall asleep.

Suris at first seems strict but he's really laid back. His class is basically video and documentary watching. The second half of the semester is based on student presentations anbd his exams are usually open notebook. his office is always open and he asks no questions if u miss an exam and want to take it on another day.

Took him online. Extremely responsive and will answer e-mails right away. Class is tedious; there are Friday weekly quizzes and weekly discussions. No midterm or final just the weekly quizzes. Group project is not too bad but a big part of your grade. If you study the weekly notes, do the discussions, and the final project your definitely good.

I took him online and most admit that it was pretty tough. You do not need a book, he gives power point notes & videos weekly. There are 14 quizzes and postings. The quizzes can be a real disaster if you do not study hard. There is also a group project, he chooses the members, it is 40% of your grade & half of the group will do a mediocre job on it

had him for mass media and society...pretty easy..dont listen to these ppl who rate him hard they are probably just extremely lazy..cool guy..laid back...all the notes are on his powerpoint and they are available online..the tests can be kind of tricky but not hard...just study the powerpoints and watch the videos which some are pretty entertaining

Kind of tough for an online class. Discussions due on SUNDAY and tests on MONDAY both every week. Couldn't have picked worse days, seeing how we're online which means most of us have jobs :( The material was interesting and I found him to be helpful when needed. Grades are not posted quickly so it's hard to gauge your grade in the class.

Took the class online. I was scared of the workload but its actually not so bad. A quiz and discussion due every week and a group project at the end. He's very helpful, responds to emails quickly. if you keep up with the assignments its an easy A.

Took him online for Mass Media and Society. Its a little hard and really annoying to have to take a test and write discussions every single week. He does respond to emails quickly and the project requires some research and time, but nothing major. warning: YOU WILL NEED TO READ THE ENTIRE TEXT BOOK! reading is def. required to pass quizzes.

Just finished Mass Media and Society and I had a great time. Guy gives you everything you need to succeed. If you don't pass with an A it's really your own fault. Reviews everything and makes a moderate curve. I am an IDEALIST and this is how all classes should go. Latter half of class is a project which is a lot of fun! Low stress class!

Suris is an amazing professor, his classes revolve around watching videos and class projects. Test reviews are extremely thorough and all you need to do well on his exams.

i took it online, Lets not lie it's not a super easy class, the grades are directly from weekly quizzes 40% and a project 40% and weekly discussions 10%.. the quizzes are trickyy and a bit annoying. the project isn't "fun" unless my definition of fun is different than other people it's not difficult just workkk to find information, i'm getting a B

Took it online. Recommended. discussions and quizzes every week, Pretty straight forward if you read his notes. One powerpoint or website project: easy, just have do some reasearch. Responds emails quickly. quick easy get-it-done class.

Dr. Suris is consistent. No crazy projects out of left field and no surprise assignments that are impossible to come across on the online system. Study material, take quiz (20-25 questions), Small project in bewteen and that was it.

Harder than I thought it would be. It is a lot of information but you do have plenty of chances to raise your grade. The project and the attendance are big portions of the final grade. His reviews give you the answers but the thing is that it is a lot of information. If you take this course I would buy the book and not the electronic version.

Best professor I've had at FIU so far...easy class (he gives really good exam reviews), great lectures (we watched a lot of videos), and most importantly I learned a lot. Suris is clearly very knowledgeable and the class overall was stimulating/engaging. Definitely my favorite class.....btw DO NOT buy the textbook, it's a waste of money

Simple, clear, to the point class. He is humor is dry but the guy is prepared for class and will answer questions. Project is about 40% of the grade, attendance will count! so go to class. Exams are easy if you go to class and pay attention. Easy A if you pay attention.

Dull guy. He just sits there and reads with the powerpoints in a monotone voice. 3 tests, straight from his review and from the powerpoints he puts online. All multiple choice. One group project, which is a pain but it's doable. It's an okay class, textbook not worth it.

Easy class if you go to lecture and take notes. Book not necessary. Group project counts for a lot. Class can be a bit routine but sometimes funny and interesting. He's a cool guy and I wouldn't mind taking another class with him.

I wish I would've took his lecture, took the class online. Quizzes are slightly difficult, but a little extra studying will get you a B. He drops the lowest grade, no exams. There are 6 online discussions, that you can complete by the end of the semester. One project that was simple.

The lectures cover a lot, but studying the class notes he provides on the course website will suffice. The project seems a bit unclear at first, but he is willing to sit with your group and clarify any doubts with some specificity. Attending the class, doing well on the project and on the three tests is EVERYTHING. Not too bad overall...

He gives you 2 wks btwn discussion posts & exams: 2-4 chapters plus 10 videos, some aren't even on the exam. The (6) exams are 25 questions & HARD. Project is 40% of your grade and he doesn't give much direction. I got an 84% & have no idea why- no critique, just a score. He let me make up a missed discussion for full credit, Overall, nice guy.

He's AMAZING. Took his class on campus. There are four quizzes and a group project at the end. The first three quizzes, his study guides were GOLDEN. Seriously, study the guide, it's all you'll need! The fourth quiz was open book. But really, if you never buy the book, his power points are exactly the same thing. He takes attendance.

He was great I've taken two classes with him and his classes are super easy if you pay attention, take notes, and read. Both classes passed with an A. One group project which is pretty much basic material. VERY hard to fail.

I've taken him both in person and online. I took VIC 3400 in person, MMC 3303 online. I've used the textbook more with the online class, but both classes were extremely easy. The material isn't difficult, and can even be interesting at times. His study guides (for the in person class) are basically the test. He does take attendance though. Easy A.

This class should be: "Design History." You will learn about all the important people in design, web design, and film, but you might be so bored you don't realize it. Do your own research if you're serious about being an advertising creative. Test advice: follow the study guide exactly. Get ready for the FIU way of teaching yourself Adobe products.

This is a great professor. Very Easy class. I took it online pass with flying colors. Just make sure you do your work on time. he will give you an opportunity at the end of the semester to make up work. Test and final are easy if you know the material. Take it online a lot better. i finished with a solid A.

Took the class online and from what I have read and heard, much easier online than in person. You have to submit a blog and quiz every two weeks. He assigns chapters to read and they are long, but do your deed and you should be good. He also provides PowerPoint presentations to go along with the material. One project which was not difficult. This class was MUCH EASIER than I thought it was going to be, and it was very enjoyable to say the least! The material was really interesting, and it's on PowerPoints which are accessible. Three tests, all of which basically are the study guides. One group project, 40% of the grade. Unless you're stuck with a lazy group, the class was a breeze.

His online course is very, VERY easy. Just 6 blogs (easy), 6 quizzes (30-40 questions), and a project. All beyond easy! Take his online course. Just check up on your assignments and the readings he assigns.

The topics in this class are very engaging and interesting. Online class very organized and satisfying. 1 test and 1 blog every two weeks and one final project. The book is a must have because the tests can be tricky. Overall it's a great class. Take it with this professor if you want to know more about global media.

Good professor. Only test and a group project. The test arent that easy but they aren't that hard either, you dont need to go crazy study for them just look over your notes and powerpoint. There was a group but each person is graded individually, you have to make a website. It sounds harder than it actually is. Overall good and interesting class.

SUPER EASY CLASS. Attendance sheet goes around each class. 2 easy tests, and a final which is open book including laptop, phone etc. Final grade is a group project making a website. You just have to explain your website tabs to him, show how you edited some pictures and you get an A+ ! Each member gets graded individually as well!

Pretty much reads from the powerpoints. Knows what he's talking about. During lecture, he tends to talk to the class and ask for opinion, which is not mandatory. Attendance is about 20% of your grade. You have only 3 exams but everything if off of the powerpoint and so far we've done them in groups and got an A for both.

There are no exams. You have weekly textbook and grammar quizzes. Weekly extra credit questions that correspond to videos he posts. There are also, 3 letters, 3 memos, a resume packet, and a business packet. You need an access code for the quizzes. Gives plenty of time for you to finish all the work. Overall, it is an easy class. This class is NOT hard, just go over the guidelines and keep an eye out for when journals, discussion, quiz, letters and memos are due. NO TEST! BUT extremely slow grader other then that he is ok.

Hes definitely the best professor at FIU. He cares about the class and tries that everyone that cares and participate has a good grade. ( A or B ) He is fun and you learn a lot in his Global Media and Society class without having HW and too much exams.

Professor Suris is probably the best professor I've ever had at FIU. He really wants you to just understand the material but is not a tough grader. Most tests are open laptop, or group tests. 3 tests, 1 easy group project and attendance matters. attedance is just on a sheet of paper so you can have someone sign you in too. 10/10 would take again.

I thought this class could have been more interesting, but the way he planned it out you listen to his lectures/watch videos and then do a big group project. You are with the same group throughout so choose wisely! He cares about his students and is passionate about all art. Reach out to him if you have and concerns, he notices hard workers.

I have mixed feeling of this professor. Class was an easy A if you completed all his assignments and testing. Professor does not grade until very end of the semester. Class includes 3 discussion posts, 3 memos to complete, 3 letters to complete, 1 resume packet, 1 business report, 10 grammar quizzes, 10 textbook quizzes, 10 extra credit hw

He uses powerpoints for his class and they're very helpful to fully grasp concepts. There are four assignments, no tests and the final (one of the assignments) is a group presentation. You can see he's very passionate about art which made the class easier.

The curriculum for this class is set up in 5-7 modules. You have 2-3 weeks for each module, where you have one quiz (30-40 questions), and one video response (no word count, quality over quantity). There is an end-of-term INDIVIDUAL assignment that SEEMS like a group project but it's not. Easiest class in FIU. A poor message responder, though.

He'll make you think a lot and make you get to know yourself, kind of confusing at first but it's a very fun class and he's very funny and relatable. Would totally take him again. Only 3 assignments in the semester and a group project.

Professor Suris is special. He has a kind heart, warmly welcomes everyone in the class to communicate and makes artistic expression interesting. He has long lectures, but its about interesting things that you can relate with. 4 Reflections (10 slide powerpoints) that each cover one module, and he's pretty lenient with dates if you ask nicely.

This was such an Easy class. Professor is a gem, he just cares that you show up and do your thing. Easy A! Just do 4 reflections how he likes and 1 final project and youre done for the semester. Would definitely recommend him to have 1 less class to worry about. Now, it is really difficult contacting him outside of class, only bad thing about him.

This class is easy to pass as long as you do the powerpoint "projects" due every like two weeks. He basically gives you the answers for the tests and he really cares about the topic he is teaching. He is a little sensitive, but it is understanding since a lot of students don't pay attention. Don't buy the book! Find a PDF if anything.

Honestly a great prof. Super caring and listens to the students concerns and needs and adjusts the course and due dates to them. Very knowledgeable about the topic but the lectures can run a little long. But he's still a great guy. I would recommend :)

Honestly, his class was ok for me. We only had discussions, quizzes, and our final was a group presentation. The only thing I didnt like was how if you miss one class your entire grade could go from an A+ to a C instantly.

This professor is so great! I'm taking him again next semester! There's 7 ppt reflections and 1 final group project. He's really flexible with the deadlines if you ask for extensions and attendance is mandatory, but if you have a real excuse he's considerate of that. The only thing is he's really bad at answering emails so talk to him in person!

One of the few professors that actually cares about you. He doesn't really reply much to emails but he's super caring and will help you if you need it. Show up to class, it's a grade. He's the sweetest as well and he tries so hard for his classes to be fun, he's an old man :')

It's an easy A. You only get graded on about 12 assignments in total, and they're easy. Everything you do in the class is groupwork. i took him for Artistic Expression in a global society and it was an easy class. It consisted of 6 powerpoint presentations based on a topic but you choose the theme. For the final it was a group presentation on a country and you have to talk about the music, culture, censorship, etc. Super easy would take again.

I needed to take this class because it was on the core curriculum. I don't like the class or the content. The teacher does read of his slide and play YouTube videos, but he is a very caring person and gives feedback if you ask him. If you have to take this class for the credits, take it with him. This class is a breath of fresh air in my semester

He is a little contradicting, but the class is very easy. Everything is done in group work but graded individually. Very little assignments of about 1 quiz and answering 1 discussion question each week with 1 final project at the end (13 assignments total for me). He talks very slow, and class is a bit boring but super easy A. TAKE HIM!!

Suris is my favorite professor at FIU. He is so caring and really loves what he does. He told us at the beginning of the semester that by the end we'd all be like a family and he wasn't lying. Amazing class environment and we all agreed that we are going to miss going to class every week. I made so many friends through that class. Please take him.

Professor Suris, He is nice and funny and a little bit strict. He does powerpoints and yt videos talking about movie films from all over the world and he made does do a project presentation and you should take his class.

Class consisted of 6 quizzes (very easy), 6 powerpoints (10 slides). 1 group project at the end with presentation. Easy and interesting class but lectures could be boring sometimes. He's very open to fixing attendance if absent. However, it is hard to reach him via email so ask your questions before or after class. Easy class for a level 3000.

He makes his class super easy and pushes back hw dates. His class is super easy to pass and was an easy A both times. He cares about his students and overall is just a great professor!

He gives an assignment and quiz biweekly; the assignments are in groups, and the quizzes are at home with 3 attempts each. If you need to take this class, I 100% recommend this professor.

He's an average professor. Lectures can be mundane at times, and he assigns easy quizzes and PowerPoints biweekly. The final project is a group project that must be presented.
