He is a very nice teacher. Understand that you also have a life and that things can happen(Something inspected occurred to me and he let me finish my work for a grade). I will strongly recommend him ;)

I am also at UTSA and it is true it is hard to find a teacher as cool and as easy as him if you show up and just do your part you will get an A. If you dont you just screwed off all together he really gives you the grade. TAKE HIM!! grate way to boost a junior college GPA for transfer.

Would take him again in a heart beat. If you do bad on a test or Quiz he will let you fix it and turn it back in for some credit.If you need to boost your GPA he is the kind of guy to get an easy A with. I wish there where some teachers like him at UTSA for COMM I took him at HCC and it was great.

Easy! Super Easy A. Take this class online. Read all the chapter summaries that are posted online and you will ace every quiz and test. Print out all quizzes and chapter summaries and keep for tests. If you turn in all assignments you will do very well.

Probably the best college professor at hcc! His classes are soo much fun and he's really funny! As long as you study your notes before the test you'll make an A GUARANTEED. If you have a chance to take his class, TAKE IT!!!!! He's got a great sense of fashion and its very easy to make fun of him lol!! TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WONT REGRET IT, I PROMISE!!

The class is very easy. I took it online. Print out all of your semester quizzes and you will do very well on the midterm (which is a hard test). My only problem with him is that he made us come in and give a speech. Other than the speech, he is an easy A.

Took online class. Work is easy, but informative. If you are self motivated this class is a breeze, though you still get something from it. Everything is online except a final presentation and he is kind in his grading.

Great prof. Respect him and you'll get it right back. He gives quizzes & in class work. If you miss much you'll be in trouble. His newspaper content quizzes were the hardest part of the class. He also offers extra credit. Show up, do your work, & you will probably get an A. Will work with you if you need to miss a class. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this class not too difficult at all. Easy "A". I just hate going in to do a presentation. But for communication class it is a requirement to do a formal reading, 4 to 5 pages long on something relating to media. 3 exams all easy.

Iforgot to say I took his online class and even though it is only 3 exams, you have 12 chapter assignments all easy and you do them at your will but don't wait because you will get bundled down with too much work. Also, he has 3 or 4 assignments they were easy to me: magazine assignment, newspaper assignment, media log and media intake all easy.

I took this class online, and it was super easy as long as you do the post-quiz at the end of each chapter online form the book company, you will do great! Because this class was online, all work was due by the end of the semester, which allowed you to work at your own pace! had to go to central to present in person my final paper!

I took this class online and it is super easy. You work at your own pace and have all semester to do the work. I recommend not waiting until the last minute. Prof. Abernathy is fair are very nice. You have a presentation at the end of the semester but there are alternatives for those who live farther. I was quite pleased with this class.

He is Wonderful! I took him over a mini term. The class was easy and enjoyable. There was one test, one research paper and a couple of speeches. 40% of the grade was showing up and doing the in class activities -which were fun and interesting. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!

Great Professor, I took him online and you can work at your own pace. Everythin is due at end of semester. U only have to attend class one time to present. Every grade I got was a 95 out of 100!!!!!!!

Mr. A's class is an easy A!!!! and you would always wanna come to his class because he always have fun activities to do =D You should take him, you wont regret it ;)

I took his online class over the summer (5 week course), which sucked cause it was a lot to do in 5 weeks, but he gives you chapter summaries and everything is online except the final presentation which is short and sweet! He comes off a bit harsh at first but he's really so nice and helpful! Just do what he says and you'll get an A!

Simply, you either have to be retarded or just not try at all to not get an A in this class. He literally gives you 95 on all your assignments. By the end of the course my average was so high that I bs and half assed all my assignments. I still got a 95. For your presentation you can make it 2 mins long and he'll give you a 96. REALLY EASY

HE IS A VERY HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING INSTRUCTOR. HE ANSWERS ANY QUESTION IN A CLEAR AND UNDERSTANDING MANNER. I TOOK HIM ONLINE AND ENJOYED HIS CLASS.

very good teacher, makes things clear. if you want a easy speech class with out doing a lot of work, this is the class to be in. this professor isn't demanding, and he teaches very well.

I toke this course online. It was an alright class. You do have to do an onsite speech at the end of the class- so be prepared. And the midterm and final are pretty long!! It is completely self paced just one deadline at the end of the course for all assignments.

Very nice teacher. Took class online, 2 major tests and 1 in person presentation about your final essay. You HAVE to read the book, and the class will be a piece of cake. Definitely recommend.

I never read anything for this class. The material for the exams can be pulled up and the answers searched for relatively easily. Gave a half-hearted presentation and still got a 95. Really easy A.

If you need this course you have to absolutely take him. Super easy, I forgot about the only deadline he gives for his class and he still managed to let me do the work and I still passed with an A. I will be forever grateful for that. He really cares about the students.

I just finished his online class.. I loved Mr. Abernathy's way of teaching. He does give you until the last week to turn in all of your chapter assignments, but I would do it in a timely manner. I loved his class It is not as easy as everyone says. You are required to do work and he will grade you on it. It is an easy A if you do the the work.

I took this as a summer online class. I thought that online classes were going to be extremely challenging, but Mr. Abernathy is a wonderful teacher. He responds to email extremely quickly and he is helpful. I loved his class! Yes you do have to read but every class requires reading. Overall the class was great. I made and A in this class.. :)

Professor Abernanthy, is very helpful with thtis course and if you read the chapters the test will flow from the content. If you send him an email he would reply in a timely manner or call you by phone. I would reccomend him to other stuednts needing this coourse requirement.

Professor Abernathy is the best professor ever. He lets you work at your own pace. You will need the book, but the quizzes are straight from the book so it works out. I enjoyed this class and made a great grade. He is responsive in emails and on the final and term paper, he let's you pick your topic. Seriously, best class ever.

One of the simplest classes imaginable. Took the online version and worked at my own pace. Prof. A answers emails in a timely manner and if you follow his advice you cant go wrong. His website is laid out in an idiot proof manner, just work your way through it to your A.

This class was extremely interesting. You must have good self-disipline because there are no deadlines other than the end of the course. You will also have to do a presentation at the end of the semester.

Prof. A is wonderful teacher. Easy grader and works with you. Follow the course schedule and you will succeed in this class!

You take 15 quizzes, have 3 discussions, 3 written assignment, a Term Paper and Presentation (done in person at Central Campus or send voice recorded PP/Youtube) and a Final Exam. Easy A if you do the work and not get behind. Was a fun class and he actually teaches you even though it's online (recorded presentations).

This class was self paced (did have deadlines) and one of easiest classes because Prof A approaches his online class in a very organized manner. I wish all my online courses were this organized! Take HIM! You will not regret it!

Great teacher, he doesn't require a textbook he writes everything on the board. He's easy one of the best teachers I've had so far plus we did a lot of activities to get to know one another.

Professor A is an awesome teacher! he is very understanding and works well with his studetns. He is very laid back if you come to class and do the work you will get a great grade

I cannot recommend Abernathy enough! Easily one of the best professors I have had the fortune of running into at HCC. He's engaging, and he words his lessons concisely and does so in a way that gets people thinking. As for course requirements, there's a lot of textbook usage but all in all it's not terribly difficult. LOVE this professor!

Professor A is one of the best professors I've had! His class is fun and straight forward. If you have the option, take him! His instructions are clear and the assignments and tests are very doable.

TAKE HIM!!!! It is sooo easy and sooo nice. Had like two papers one presentation and two in class group assignments. Test were a little difficult but only because I didn't study. He gives test back and if you make the corrections he will bump your grade up. Could not ask for a better teacher.

This class was online, all the work was given 1st week of class & due by the end of the semester. Each chapter had a quiz (10-15 multiple choice) and an discussion board or an assignment. Quizzes are not timed. Class was easy & had fun assignments. Final Exam is online as well, multiple choice. He takes long time to grade or respond back via email

I took the online for this course and everything you need for exams are in the book more so than the noted you will have to read the chapters for sure. But the info is interesting so its not too bad. Final was online but semester paper presentation was done in person an i wish i did his actual class he is really cute ;)

Good guy in person, online course is very easy to understand and nicely setup. Book wasn't 100% necessary but it does help with 1/6 of the test questions. There is a lot to read, finals were easy. A lot of the students taking the course were not as serious about doing well in the class, he may have seemed too easy going but I worked for my grade.

He's awesome! Nothing was due until the very end of the semester. So, it was like a pace yourself kind of class. If you ever have an issue with an assignment, he responds quickly and understands that stuff happens! He works with you, he's fair, and he gives clarified responses when you ask him questions. I'd take his class every semester.

All of the reviews here are accurate. You can pace yourself because he grades everything at the end. I learned a lot from this class and It was an easy A. I know that sounds unbelievable, but the material is interesting and at a reasonable pace. Take this professor and up your GPA and knowledge on the subject.

I loved taking this class for the fall semester!! I honestly wished he could teach other subjects. You can easily connect to the subject and the assignments are not hard at all. He will make a scene if you come in late but its funny at the same time because he appreciates you at least making the effort of coming in to class than not show up at all

Took this class during Winter break, I have a child and worked full time. Just do every single assignment. Book was included in digital class, but reading it was not required to pass. The teacher post power points. 16 quizzes use resources, completed within the first week, 2 discussions, magazine assignment, newspaper assignment and 1 presentation

I highly recommend you take this professor if you want to take communication (incl. 1307) at HCC. Other students that taken and rated him said that everything is due by the end of semester session whenever he's available. Mostly easy A class. Before I take him this summer, I may recommend you do at least 1 or 2 chapters per day or 2 if u have time.

I took this class online while working full-time. The class was easy to manage because you go at your own pace. Everything is due at the end of the semester, so don't leave all your work until the end. He has discussion theory forums where you analyze a communication theory and discuss it, quizzes on every chapter, a final project, and final exam.

Professor highly recommended for Communication 1307. I took him online for summer 2nd 5 weeks. Everything in this class is due by the end of semester session, so don't leave all your work until the end! All 16 chapter quizzes are finished within a week with all 100s, they're easy too. Assignments are easy too for your participation. Passed w/ 97%.

Easy class clear instructions everything due at the end of semester. Took last minute summer 5 week course it was a breeze.

Awesome professor, you can feel his passion for media. I did a mini semester and there were about 20 quizzes so it felt like a lot but i imagine spaced out through a normal semester it would be fine. Very responsive to emails but im sure you wont have many questions, everything is self explanatory.

Professor Abernathy has been my favorite professor at HCC. His assignments are clearly outlined which makes them easy to complete and he responds quick to messages. I have taken two courses with him Comms 2327 & Comms 1307. If there were other courses in my degree plan that he taught I would choose him over other professors.

Easy class wont regret taking him. I took his online COMM 2327 and he would put out the assignments but with no due dates, its just easier to do the assignments as he post them so you wont get lost. Quizzes are not hard use your (resources).

Quite the nice professor. Very easy to engage with and understanding if something comes up, as long as you communicate the issue beforehand. A lot of group work during class and some a decent amount of note taking. No problems with the lectures. He's very clear and concise about the material. Took this course during Fall 2024.
