She teaches her own information but doesn't put things she says to study on the test.
don't take her, if you can help it. she reads her lecture notes the whole time and teaches like a kindergarten teacher. She is extremely boring. However, she occasionally gives extra credit if you go to class.
Well, out of three years spent at Auburn University I have never had a worse lecturer. If you want to sit in a class and listen to what could very well be a high-school student reading you slides in no apparent order, then this class is for you. Exams aren't ridiculous, but its quite difficult to take clear notes in lectures that have no structure
The only reason to go to class is that she occasionally gives extra credit opportunities (If you leave class early, usually she will give the rest of the class a test question or extra credit). Lectures suck. Shes very spiteful to those who dont bend to her will. She doesn't really know what she's talking about, tests aren't about geography really.
She's very nice, esp. if you ask for help. This is a pretty easy class if you just read and come to class. It's a large lecture and lots of people don't. They're probably the ones complaining in the other posts - and wondering why they're failing. I'd take her again.
Dr. Brysch has a few workbook assignments that take very little time. Most lectures are interesting, and the tests are pretty simple if you look over your notes the night before. Pretty easy class overall. She can be funny sometimes too.
Better than my high school geography. Dr. Brysch at least tries to make it interesting. Exams aren't too bad. Map quizzes are easy.
Really weird about people coming in late/leaving early. Flew through the book powerpoints and assigned 3 or 4 workbook exercises that were a waste of time but really affect your grade. Tests were multiple choice and true/false. Even though I managed an A, I would not take her again.
Typical AU gen ed course. She's fine. Just read and come to class. No problem to get at least a B.
We had 8 test throughout the whole semester - 4 Q&A and 4 Map tests. Her class was really easy, but please take notes. You can skip class, but you'll miss out on extra credit and other info. Always posts back grades within a week. Lectures were long and she's a bit quirky and punny. Most def take again - literally impossible to fail.
Her class lectures where boring and has too much extra information. She really does care about the class. Not mandatory but she randomly gives extra credit. 3 test, 2 workbook pages, and a final. eh.
Dr. Brysch gives long, boring lectures that follow directly with the powerpoint and the book. She gives tests that are very hard and don't seem to come from any material taught. However, the map quizzes she gives are very easy, and she gives loads of extra credit (if you go to class).
Second class with her. Clear and to the point. Helpful outside class. Good overall.
Dr. Brysch is a little nerdy but she's so sweet and eager to help!! Her powerpoints are so clear, and her tests come straight from the review. The textbook is only necessary for the end of chapter quizzes that she pulls direct questions from, but reading it is unnecessary (she even told us not to)! If you just try, it's an easy A! AND no map tests!
Aside from being a little nerdy, she's a pretty good teacher. She makes the material very clear, and the tests mainly come from the PowerPoint slides.
Attend class she randomly gives extra credit. The class before a test she gives a study guide. if you follow the study guide you will do well on the test. Her class is long and boring. She doesn't like people arriving late and leaving early. Class attendance is not mandatory, but i would attend and just do other work, just for the extra credit
The lectures are really long and boring, but she gives LOADS of extra credit if you just go to class. Posts lecture powerpoints after she finishes a chapter, so you don't really have to take notes during class.
Dr. Brysch really enjoys geography. It was really easy to pass her tests because she gave study guides & posts notes on Canvas. I'd take her again not because I enjoyed the class but it was an easy grade. Don't buy the book. I opened it once--waste of money. All the tests info is from her notes. She passes the study guides out in class!!
This was my second class with Dr. B and I was not disappointed. In addition to knowing the material well, she also made sure to learn everyones name and was willing to help us out if needed. Definitely will be taking her again if possible!
Her powerpoints come straight from the textbook and put up on canvas, so no textbook is needed. Tests come straight from the study guide, so memorize that and you're golden.
Dr. Brysch, a mentor of mine from her former university is outstanding. If you are an intellectual like her, you will understand her sense of humor&her love for the study of the world. Advise you all to take her, that is if you want to learn&have a sense of humor. An A is highly obtainable. Be responsible, go to class&have some respect for Dr. B!!!
Had to take this class for a social science credit. Never went to class except the day BEFORE the test. She goes over the test material and the tests are extremely close to the study guide she gives out. Get the textbook!! There are questions after each chapter that are word for word on the test.
Loved this class!! She doesn't take attendance, but she does randomly offer bonus in class sometimes, so it may help to go some. Go to class the day before the test because she gives you everything that will be on the test. Also would buy the book because there are questions at the end of every chapter that are word for word on the test. So easy!
she posts her power points online before each test so that is very helpful. This class was boring but an easy A. She sometimes announced bonus work in class so i suggest going for that reason, but i skipped a few times and it was fine. like 70% of her test questions come from the self tests in the book after each chapter. so buy the book.
Class is not mandatory, but show up and she helps you out-extra credit opportunities, study guides and basically tells you what to know for each test. She's super sweet and willing to accommodate/help if you just visit during office hours!
super easy, gives a study guide for each test the class before so go to that class and get the study guide. you need the workbook to do assignments once every two weeks. she gives lots of extra credit. super easy A.
Dr. Brysch is an awesome teacher! She lectures every class, but posts the powerpoints after each section and practically gives test answers in the reviews. Attendance is really not necessary because of this, but you can get extra credit opportunities if you go. Highly recommend her/this class for the core requirement.
Really easy class! I attended everyday, but she does not take attendance. She lectures a lot of material, but gives a study guide for each test. You will find the tests easy if you study the study guide and the self tests in the textbook.
Dr. Brysch is a wonderful professor!! Cares about what she does and wants you to learn but doesn't expect you to kill yourself for a good grade. 3 tests, a final, and participation grades. the tests have take home essays which are nice. She's very accomadating if you need to take a test early. Sweetest lady ever!!!
super easy class. she gives extra credit opportunities like every week and the tests come straight from her study guides and the end of chapter self tests, so you will need the book. i had class three days a week and would only go maybe once a week and had a 98% avg the whole time. very boring lectures but 10/10 would recommend
Dr. Brysch is awesome. She is a very kind person and really gives an effort to get to know your name. I sat in the back and rarely talked, but she knew my name within 2 weeks and didn't forget it. I would 100% take her again if I ever get the chance to.
Dr. Brysch's class is hands down the EASIEST class I've ever had at Auburn. The material was boring (and so were her lectures), but she is very kind and understands that we probably have more important things to study. She gives out a study guide the class before the test, which is the exact material thats gonna be on there. Seriously, take her.
hardly went to class & always had an A. lectures extremely boring, but ms brysch is so sweet. posts notes online & gives study guides of literally the test answers exactly. lots of extra credit. fave innocent quote before her lecture on dams: "this is going to be the best dam presentation you have ever seen"
Easy teacher. Don't even need to go to class unless you want extra credit. She gives a study guide with all information on the tests a few days before.
Dr. Brysch is seriously the sweetest professor. The class was very easy, and attendance definitely was not mandatory, but if you went you might have an opportunity to receive extra credit.
Dr. Brysch is a really great teacher. You take 4 test (the final is NOT accumulative), and 4 workbook assignments. She gives you a mega ton of extra credit. It is not hard to make a 100 in this class. She learned the whole front rows name on the first day, and is really socialable. I took her class at 8am and skipped some and still made an A! TAKE!
It's an easy A class! The class is composed of 4 exams and 4 workbook assignments. She gives out a lot of extra credit and a review before each exam. I never went to class and still got an A. As long as you do the review and practice tests in the textbook before each exam you will get an A on them.
Dr. Brysch is a fantastic professor! Her lectures cover a lot of information, but she always posts the slides on Canvas for you to review. The class before each exam, she puts up a study guide that completely outlines what will be on it. There's a ton of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester as well. Take this class!
EASIEST CLASS EVER. only go to class the day before the exam to get the study guide. Have a 101%. Take this class.
GO TO CLASS. I fr never did and my grade isn't that great, but it's my own fault. 4 tests including final. Do the wkbk activities and extra credit (duh). Take notes and study from them. She does take some questions from the textbook, but that's all she ever uses it for so I wouldn't buy it. It's an easy A or B for sure if you put in some effort
Dr. Brysch is one of my favorite professors at Auburn. She is so sweet and cares about her students and that they get something out of the class. Gives a lot of extra credit and workbook assignments that boost your grade. Part of the test comes straight from the self-texts in the textbook. I would highly recommend taking her for global geography
Dr. Brysch is such a sweet prof. Her class was extremely easy. She gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities to help boost your grade. There are 4 projects that are super easy. If you do them, you get an A. I would def recommend her for geography.
Easiest class ever. you don't even have to go to class, although she likes it if you do. just study the powerpoint and the review questions and you'll make an easy A
this was a very easy class. I went everyday and sat on the front row and if you show you care she really helps you. The tests are straight off notes and the back of the book questions. If she says something you need to know you do. Write down notes and rewrite them but if you dont go she posts powerpoints online. Great class!!!!!
Take Dr. Brysch! She gives study guides with exactly what will be on the tests but she only gives them out in class so make sure you are there to get them. Other than that attendance is not mandatory. She also gives tons of extra credit opportunities. I studied for an hour the night before the tests and always made A's.
Go to class for the most part because she gives random pop quizzes which consist of a question or two about the lecture. She's nice, but she calls students out who are late to her class, which is ridiculous because its a basics class and nobody cares. All of her exams are based off the pretests in the text book. Also check out Quizlet.
Dr. Brysch's class is easy. All exams are take home essays that are less than 2 pages, and you can use her slides for them. Attendance is graded.
Lecture-based class with take-home essay exams. Very very easy. Grades attendance but you can miss a few classes and still get an A. Final project on a topic of your choice, again, easy.
Super nice and caring lady. If you don't get an A, you didn't try at all. Tests are word for word from end of chapter review tests and in-class test review questions. There are some easy surprise activities in class. Workbook activities are simple and she gives multiple opportunities for easy extra credit. Taking her for this class is a no-brainer.
This was the easiest honors class I've ever taken! I thought the material was really interesting, but every class is full on lecturing. No tests, just essays. Really easy class but not the most exciting.
Such a sweet lady. She wants all her students to do well and she is so funny! I have already recommended her to all my friends. Best professor!
Dr. Brysch is awesome. All her students love her. She is very nice, likeable, and understanding. She prepares you well for her tests and gives a study guide before each test that is very helpful. She only occasionally takes attendance and offers a ton of extra credit. Class isn't too difficult, and she makes it pretty interesting. Highly recommend.
Dr. Brysch's class is super easy & she genuinely wants you to succeed. There are participation slips but they only for 10 points of your grade. She posts all of the notes online & she only uses the textbook for the self-tests in the back that will be part of the test. Also, go to class the week of the test because she gives a study guide in class.
Really easy class. She posts all her slides online so focus on taking notes on what she's lecturing rather than what's on the slides, you can see them later. She gives study guides and lots of extra credit. A little scatterbrained so sometimes it's hard to follow because she jumps around so much, but overall she's good
Literally the easiest social science you can take. She takes attendance in class over 10 times during a semester but will only count 10. She gives in class review before test that is all you need to study and uses exact textbook practice questions on test. She gives homework but it is easy and there are at least 40 extra credit points thru semester
If you study Her study guides that she gives before the test you will pass with a 100 no doubt !!!
Brysch's class was SO easy. Show up to class to get your attendance/ participation points but no need to take notes . Offers lots of EC. Exams are ridiculously easy (gives a study guide before the exam) and questions also come from the end of chapter self tests. Really tries to engage with students (even for an 8am) TAKE THIS CLASS
Go to class for participation credit. She gives really good end of chapter study guides so go to class before an exam to get that list. study the textbook only and you could pass. She gives lots of extra credit (I've gotten roughly 20+ points) its so easy and she sometimes makes jokes that are horrible yet still funny. A really good prof to take
Carmen Brysch is a gem and loves the subject she teaches. Attendance is not mandatory and if you try to leave early she will call you out in front of 130 people. I recommend going to class because she has random attendance assignments that can boost your grade at the end of the semester. Studied the night before test and have done very well.
Take it and get an easy A ! Just follow what she said.
Easiest class at Auburn. She gives so much extra credit and tells you exactly what will be on the tests. Make quizlets for the tests and you will make an A.
Easy A! Loves to give extra credit. Attendance is mandatory because she does random assignments that count for attendance and sometimes extra credit. Grade jumped 8 points within the last week of school!! Highly recommend her class
Very easy A. Go to class because of the random attendance checks. Tells you whats on the test.
Dr. Brysch is by far the best teacher at Auburn. She cares so much about her students and allows a lot of extra credit. Her exams are very easy and she understands that students need this for an easy credit. She does random attendance things but u can miss class pretty often. But i love going because shes so sweet and funny.
Shes an okay teacher, her class is SUPER easy, test straight from review, random attendance and she can get pretty boring with discussions, constant chances for extra credit tho
In this class for the tests, she had us write small papers, but she graded very easy so they weren't difficult. She is very caring and passionate about Geography and gives excellent extra credit opportunities if you need them. There are several projects and some homework assignments, but nothing too tough.
this class is the best! go to class because you get points for participation but the class is so easy! she gives so much extra credit it is amazing and her tests are so easy if you study the study guides she gives us. she is really sweet and tries to make the class as interesting as possible. easiest class i've taken at auburn
Super helpful kind and leniant
Dr. Brysch is amazing wow everybody at Auburn needs to take her
Honestly the easiest professor ever. She tries to make this class so so easy. 4 workbook activities, 4 exams and tons of extra credit! for her exams she copies the self test questions from the textbook so there is a hard chance on failing her course. Attendance is mandatory though as she grades heavily on participation
Dr. Brysch is one of the nicest people I've ever met! Her classes are easy, too!
So sweet! Her class is very easy, test questions are pulled directly from her study guide and the textbook self tests. She is absolutely adorable! Her lectures can be a little boring, but you can tell she cares about geog and that she knows her students are there for a credit. Random attendance slips. Extra credit! Get her for geography if you can!
Dr. B is awesome! If you thought her GEOG1010 class was easy, this one was even easier! Take home tests (easy essays) and classwork! She is great. She made the class fun with interactive activities and games. I am taking her again! Go to class because you get the classwork and she takes attendance.
Big lecture class. She gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Hands out participation sheets almost every class to count as attendance. Tests are super easy to study for too.
Great teacher, easy A class for me since Im an Engineering major. Gives extra credit assignments. Participation sheets each class but its easy. Nice teacher. Tests are multiple choice. She loves geography so get ready for the passion too.
go to class!!!! she does random attendance checks and you being in class doesnt involve anything more than you just sitting there she just rambles thru class and if you google quizlets for the tests you will find it and just have to remember the flashcards
Great teacher, look to quizlet for all her study guide questions. Super caring and gives tons of extra credit. Come to class though cause she does grade attendance.
Dr. B made this class as easy as she possibly could. She gives you all the questions that will be on the test, you only have four hw assignments, and she grades on attendance, so go to class! Ive never had an easier class, she gets nonmajors are taking this so she goes so easy on us and gives an almost ridiculous amount of extra credit. V easy A!!
easiest class at auburn
Dr. Brysch was a great professor! Her tests were mainly based off of the self tests she posted in Canvas, so if you go over those and understand the information in them, you'll be fine. She does take random attendance activities, and your friends can't sign one for you, she'll know. I never paid attention in class and did just fine.
Dr. B is amazing! My third class with her and I enjoy her every time! Her classes are extremely easy- just go to class, participate, and do the assignments. If you show effort she gives you an A. She is really sweet and she always made class fun. In this class, we had one paper due in pieces throughout the semester with a few smaller assignments.
Dr. B is an angel! She is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. Her class is super easy! Just make sure you show you are putting in the effort, and she will give you a good grade.
Took every class possible with Dr. B even though GEO has absolutely nothing to do with my major. TAKE HER CLASSES, ALL OF THEM!!! We need more teachers and people in the world like Dr. B!!! Super clear about what she requires, gives easy and fun activities, extra credit work, etc. She is always open to suggestions and lets us pick how we want clas
Awesome Professor! Definitely would take again. Need more Professor's like her.
This professor has amazing reviews at other institutions. However, in San Jac, her class is like an English class. All assignments and tests are long essays + the bibliography page. Harsh in grammar and formatting. Takes forever to put grades in and does not answer emails. You never use the textbook you got charged for. Do not take her class here!
