very good teacher!
Some hate Carmen Kuczewski, others like her. I thought she was very helpful to students who wanted the help but her voice is annoying. She goes out of her way to make herself available to students.
NICEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD, COMES IN ON DAYS WHEN SHE'S NOT TEACHING TO HELP OUT, VERY DEDICATED TEACHER, SHE WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO HELP HER STUDENTS. BEST MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTING TEACHER OUT THERE, TAKE HER!
I think she is one of the best teacher that I've ever had. Very dedicated to her work and makes herself available to her students. Taking Comm 217? Don't make no mistake.
She is a very nice lady. She tried her best to let us understand all the necessary material, and make us mark on the important points. Devote a lot of her time on helping student. If you have to take this course, take her section.
She'll never be straight to the point, rather talk too much for nothing in ACCO 310; She's neither organized nor punctual. I sugest not to take any finanical accounting classes with her (Look at her specialization, not an accuntant).
TAKE her section. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!Her teaching is awsome, you don't even need the textbook, as long as you attend her class, do the practice. Her students' average mark has been 10 POINTS HIGHER than all other sections for three consecutive semesters. She's professional, and enthusiastic. Enjoy her lectures!!
Such a nice teacher. She really wants her students to succeed. Too bad that this course is way overloaded with material. Even though she needs a major makeover, she is definately a great teacher.
Super helpful teacher. She will do alot for students that other teacher would never do. Very dedicated to teaching. It is a tough course but Carmen tries to help as much as she can. If you want a good grade just work hard and don't blame the teacher. She is one of the best teachers at concordia.
Most dedicated person ever! She's so sweet. Wants you to do well and gives you a good mark if she knows ur trying hard. The only thing that might drive you nuts about her is that she can be a bit disorganized and have some typos/mistakes. But you get used to them and ALWAYS ASK HER QUESTIONS in person
very nice and professional professor. she always try her best to help her students in study, life and businesses.
She is awesome, sweet, caring, dedicated, but she confuses the**** out of me. I know she means well and really does care, but do not print out her notes cuz they will F$#K you up.
Great teacher! no suprises in the exams plus explain everything in class. Highly recommend!
She is one the best teachers at Concordia. She provides her notes during class, and 90% of the class time she does examples, including sample exam problems. You come out of the class understanding the material, I rarely read the chapters I went straight and did problems. Remember for this course its all practice, practice and more practice.
Take her as a teacher if you have the chance. One of the best at concordia. Take my advice go out of your way to find out what class she is teaching and make sure you get into the class, try everything possible to get in her sections, make sure to take her!!!! DO IT
Carmen is honestly one of the best teacher's I've ever had. She goes out of her way to make sure you understand the material and are prepared for the exams. I reccomend taking this class with her in the summer. Because there's less time to learn it, she puts less material on the final/midterm.
She is very nice, and very approachable to students. However, for this course, a nice prof is not enough, but it requires a CLEAR prof in terms of explanations. She tries to make things easy, but then she confuses herself, then confuses the students too. Her notes are just craps. TUTORIALS are strongly recommend, or else u DIE.
Approachable easily.
A++. The best teacher ever. She teaches a class that has alot of material and makes it as easy and as clear and humanly possible. If still unclear, read the book or go see her. She goes out of her way to make sure u understand everything at 100%. The very best!
Very nice teacher. Always willing to help. Prepares you as best as she can for exams.
She is just confusing! Gives Too much detail about everything that U DON'T NEED TO KNOW! Always missing something she needs, She has a crazy schedule that stresses out, not organized, Always there to help thou... She makes a whole table of datas when u can simply use one formula! She tries to teach u the best she can but it's bad. she's nice
I don't recommend that you take her for ACCO 450. Unless you want to spend 20 hours a week on her case. Besides that, she's not organized and is all over the place. Take Stanley Schulman if you need that B-. I recommend him as it will be much easier to get that B-.
You should stay away from her. She is not organized. We never got our midterm grade in time. We never got any feedback and then we had no idea what to do for the final. If you want your B-, Don't take her. Take Sandra Robinson or Schulman, or that other guy i think it's Hutchinson!!! Avoid Carmen
She is a super helpful teacher, but really wants students to come and see her. She does expect that students put in a lot of work for her class. No one in my class got below a B- in the midterm. Her feedback is slow though, and courses are not really useful, but mandatory.
ACCO450 is really tough course, but Carmen tried a lot to make it understandable. Although her notes were long, they help us to prepare for the exam. She is really trying to help students and put a lot of time and effort in presenting the course. She is amazing in answering e-mails. The only week-point, we got the mid-term result so late
Basically she is one of the best teacher I ever see in Concordia. She works harder than the students and she adds more information than required in the course. She explains things clearly. However, she is not very organize in the auditing course. Prepare to be overworked for her course.
Nice lady; but really not helpful in this difficult course. It seems she knows nothing about auditing! She prepared lots of notes, which was not so organized, and only be busy in highlighting her notes in class. You need to read and understand all the points by yourselves! The worst accounting teacher I've ever met in Concordia!
She is one of the best accounting teachers. She genuinly cares about her students and goes out of her way to make sure you understand. She is always available via email.
Amazing teacher. Notes are well prepared and very helpful. She will anwser all e-mails promptly. It is unfortunate that she will not be teaching in the fall and winter. Shame on you JMSB for letting go an amazing teacher.
We have a few presentations plus plus 2 written reports. Many students got A- and above. She really cares about students and I had so much fun in her class.
Her notes are really clear. She prepares students so well for the exams. Go to her review class if she offers. It is very useful. Take her if you want a A.
This teacher cant teach acco310. She does not prepare you well for the midterm nor the final. I had to attend another teacher's class instead. AVOID AT ALL COST
Horrible. Save you money by taking another teacher. She is hard marker.
What is this teacher doing at concordia? she cant even teach. not recommended
She is really nice and cares about student. She wants student to be successful in the school and she gives extra tutorial for student who need help. As well, she tells us what the exam would be. I got B- with no effort at all. Please take her instead of Wendy Roscoe, Hutchison, Gheyara or Gail Fayerman. Please be aware of that.
She takes being lazy to a whole new level. Shes a teacher but she doesnt actually teach, strange isnt it.
Don't understand how she got good ratings. She gives the impression that she truly cares about her students, yet she is a hard marker. Is very unorganized. Teaches class by putting the notes on overhead and telling you what to highlight instead of doing problems. But she does seem to be the best ACCO310 prof. which tells you how bad the rest are
Excellent Teacher. Disregard comments. Highly Disagree.Excellent notes and very clear explanations. The material seems so organized based on her teaching and easy to follow notes.Very knowledgeable teacher as well. Evident through her teaching
Very good teacher. Cares a lot about the performance of her students, and understanding as well!!
Very nice teacher. She cares alot about her students. Very recommended!
Great and caring teacher, but is always too unorganized!
Ms. Carmen Kuczewski is the best teacher I have ever had!
This teacher is the best teacher that I have even seen in Concordia. The class note, book chapter solutions and exercise note is very clear by computer(most teachers by hands). And after class, she will post the solution clearly. Pronounce is accuracy, but the voice is little lower for me. Perfect teacher that recommend to every Comm305 students.
stopped answering my emails after i emailed her that there was errors on the lab (never seen a lab with that much mistake. not her fault cause she probl doesnt even make them but she couldve answer my emails).very unorganized. sometimes can be very rude. overall she does explain well sometimes. the midterm was joke and final was hard as hell.
Nice lady, knowledgeable teacher, excellent personal notes. The only problem with her teaching style is that she goes way too fast at times. 305 has a lot of information, at times she goes at such a fast pace you don't know what you just learned. You're writing notes not for the sake of understanding but for being able to keep up with her.
By far the best account teacher I've had in Concordia so far.She really cares and is very helpful and knows her stuff;the way she explains she gets you involved and her notes really help. She does mostly problems not theory which is better and more interesting.I didn't like the course but she made me like it andI wanted to go to class to learn a lot
Carmen is a nice person and is 100% there for the students, however she is not able to make the material clear and make the students understand and follow her in class. The projector and the handwritten notes put me to sleep. I learned more by going to SOS and reading the book.
One of the best prof at Concordia. Make sure you attend all her classes. They're all very helpful. Also do all the Wiley Plus chapter assignments and everything will be crystal clear. She's very helpful, feel free to ask anything you dont get. Take her.
Very nice person that has a very lazy way of teaching (she goes through the exercises' solution without doing them, goes super fast) I skipped half the classes because reading the book was more useful than attending..just read the book and do the EXERCISES and it will be all crystal clear
Classes are boring but her documents are helpful and clear. Very nice answering questions and takes time to make sure everyone understands! Very helpful!
It's hard to grade her easiness because she doesn't write the exams. It's a common midterm and final by Ibrahim Ali. Regardless, she tries very hard for everyone to succeed. Her notes are amazing. You don't have to read the textbook, just show up to class and fill in the missing spots in her notes.
I love Carmen! She's such a nice lady! Her notes are very very helpful! please go to class and ask her questions if u desire a good grade! she's very nice answering questions and u can keep asking until u understands! she even calls students to answer their questions before the exam if she can't be available in the office. She is just so nice!!!!
BEST prof I ever met! Love her so much and recommend her strongly! She is kind and hard work.
COMM 305 Managerial Accounting is not easy. Professor Kuczewski is there to help you understand the concept and push further. Large amount of practise is required to pass this course. This is from a student with A+ in this course.
Not good to ACCO 310. She taught old material that is no longer offered in today's accounting practice. Her defense is a lot of companies still use old standards. Not well organized. Her notes has a lot of spelling mistakes, Calculation errors, Time errors. Which made study more difficult. And she won't post her full notes either.
ADMI 202 is a really interesting class but there is a lot of work. Carmen is a nice professor, always willing to help during office hours. Attendance matters because there are inclass activities every class. There are easy ways to get grades in this class too. Take this class over online 202.
Put in minimal effort, finished over half the final and still wound up with an A. Apparently she changed the grading scheme because barely anyone finished. So she's fair. I'd highly recommend if you need a GPA booster. Classes aren't mandatory but BEWARE, there's a ton of participation points. She also loves guest speakers ;)
To do well you have to show up and participate. There are plenty of was to get easy grades, by showing up or doing online quizzes etc. The assignments were a little tough but they are done in groups so the work was fairly divided. Prof and TA were very helpful. The exam was not too difficult but it was long exam hardly anyone left till time was up.
One of the best profs I've ever taken! She really understand students, and gives you adequate time and support for projects and assignments. She also explains really well, so her lectures are great if you don't want to rely on the book too much. Quizzes and tests and finals are more than fair, she tells you what you'll have to know!
She's very nice, a little tough on the grading and slow to answer emails but a lot of tricks on how to solve final exams. Would recommend
AVOID, AT . ALL COSTS. I'M DOING YOU A FAVOR! SHE'S TERRIBLE AT TEACHING, GOES OFF TOPIC 80% OF THE TIME. EXPLAINS WHY WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING BUT NOT HOW TO DO IT. EXPLAINS WHY ITS IMPORTANT BUT NOT HOW TO DO IT.
Very nice, patient, and kind professor. The most supportive professor I have ever seen. She even helped my friend to find group members for case competition and coach them.
This class is challenging by itself and demands a lot of extra work outside of the classroom. Carmen is a good teacher who genuinely cares about her students and their success, but her lectures are pretty dull and are not getting you that A. Go to tutorials or get extra help. PRACTICE is the only way to succeed in this class.
Carmen seems like a sweetheart, but she is, in fact, very rude to her students, especially by e-mail. She is very lost; didn't provide all the ratios that were on the midterm and gave my class (a week before the final) two assignments due the day before the final. I definitely do not recommend her unless you go to weekly tutorials and practice.
She's okay. I didn't show up to 1 class during the semester and still passed (with the help of tutoring of course). She's nice and she's also caring.
She's super sweet, but she's not a great teacher. I barely understood anything she was trying to explain. Her notes are GOD AWFUL (they're long, messy Word documents). She goes over examples in class, BUT she doesn't do them! She just reads over the solutions! You're better off just reading the textbook. She's not a bad choice, but not great.
I took a course with her during COVID19. The 2nd half of the semester was online. She was one of the best instructors who dealt with the situation. She recorded her lectures & shared it with students so they can study at their own pace. Towards the end of the semester, she did interactive QA Zoom sessions where students were already prepared!
Professor Carmen is one of the best professor at Concordia, she is very caring and really helpful when you needed help. She also gives extra credit and she recorded all the lectures. I would defiantly take her again!
say what you will about the class but Carmen is the nicest, most caring teacher i've ever had . gave extra 3 weeks for the assignment and was very compassionate and understanding for any issue. go to matthew's tutorials to get a good grade
shes old, like if i was her id retire. shes not rude or mean shes just slow and rambles on and on about something else. if u ask her a question, beware
useless
If you're gonna take her class, save your time and just attend the tutorials. Her lectures are terrible, she basically just reads her powerpoint with no emphasis on what is important (same tone throughout the entire lecture). The tutorials and the book is what will save you if she is your teacher.
Basically does assignments for you to 'help', then refuses to give feedback to clear up misconceptions. Tells you wrong info to make you feel like you understand when you don't. Office hours basically mandatory Speaks over you when you ask a question, often missing the point of the question entirely. Worst prof I've ever had in 7 yrs of Uni.
Doesn't even teach but also doesn't tell you to depend heavily on the textbook so you have no idea whats going on for the first 3 weeks. Definitely don't take her for 217, she does not teach nor explain anything.
Gave up attending her online classes. She's a mess. When you finally feel like you understand a concept she goes and reexplains in a way that makes you more lost than you were before. Exams arent long enough for whats asked and math heavy. you'll need to teach yourself with the textbook, the tutorials are lifesavers!
Great teacher! Not the most tech savvy person - but pours her heart into teaching. I wouldn't have made it through the class without her. In her lectures, she goes through past problems and tells you what's most commonly tested. If you show up and participate in class, she'll do the same. As much as I love her, you need to go to tutorials to pass.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Prof. Kuczewski. Although she might not be as exciting as other profs, she supports her students above and beyond. The work needs to be put in by you. You need to be your prof, as much as this is frustrating. Use YouTube, do free tutorials, read the textbooks, do practice problems, and you shall indeed succeed.
I thought she was a great teacher, had her in-person and much of the tips she gave helped a lot for understanding the material and preparing for exams. She can explain things kind of fast sometimes but if you can follow along it's definitely more beneficial than just reading the chapters/PowerPoint alone.
She's an great professor. She's a bit slow but I really appreciated that. She was ready to answer all questions and was wiling to take her own time to help students. Her notes are AMAZING. I highly recommend.
She is caring of her students but is just another typical rambling acco prof. Many acco profs at Concordia choose to explain the material without any visuals and sadly she falls into this category. Acco is best learned by doing and the best way to implement that into teaching is to actually demonstrate the material on the board, which she doesnt.
She's a nice person but doesn't really do much more than read the documents projected. She gives good learning material though and makes recorded tutorials for tougher exercises, which is nice. She's approachable. But you're going to need tutoring on the side. She gets often confused about her own material though.
Overall, Miss Carmen is a teacher who cares for her students. Lectures are a bit long and sometimes she loses herself in what she's saying. Easy grades if you do the work. She's sweet and caring and wants her students to excel. If you get her at Dawson, it'll be an easy class.
Very kind and it is clear that she wants her students to succeed. Classes are a bit slow and boring sometimes + her notes can be a bit unclear at times, but she is very knowledgeable and explains the subject very well in class. Show up to the first 5-10 classes and do the homework - if you understand the base concepts you'll do great in the class.
Don't quite understand the positive comments about her, yes she does seem to care but holy are her notes a complete mess. Don't even bother trying to decipher what she's writing, there are typos and unformatted text everywhere. You're better off going to another professor's class to learn.
She's a sweet old lady who truly cares about her students and types the notes on screen during each class. However, she rambles on for hours and her posted documents are very messy with many typos. Overall, she's a very boring lecturer for an objectively boring class. Save yourself and go to Michael Bourne's lectures.
I passed this class by the skin of my teeth and that was due to self study
Her lectures are her stressing how important something is for the MT/Final then barely explaining. Her lectures use MS Word for some reason and are loaded with typos. Since the MT, attendance dropped to 1/6th because people are doing tutoring sessions instead. Shes nice but her teaching methods are insufficient for one of the hardest ACCO classes
