I took his class on a Sunday, it was not a pleasent experience. It was not the course that made it so but the man, he is not a good person.

I've never heard of a class where u have to write a paragraph consisting of 2 pages...laughs for no apparent reason, which kinda makes u wonder...says things claiming to never have said them the next day....very disturbing man...sent chills down my spine
Expect an NC(No Credit) if you take his class. He is of the worst Eng profs in BC. No matter how well you write or how Eng 1 went,if you do not write with the same style as he does, expect a grade in the D range on every paper. Do not take him or Goldman.
I took Engl. I on Sunday. He made us write 12 papers and we had a final. He was very difficult, but I learned how to right proper essay with him. I think we had one B in the class. If you have a choice take another professor.
If you don't agree with his opinion, you're wrong. He failed me! I got an A- in ENG 1 and when I had to retake ENG 2. Avoid him! Worst at BC!
This guy is crazy. He is always right. Don’t even think to argue with him. In class his opinion is right and yours is always wrong. For your sake do not I repeat do not take his class.

I have not a kind word to say about this man. If you don't agree with everything he says/thinks, you'll do horribly. Quiz every day. Made us read tons of books. Take another prof.

I wish i was warned before going to college a paragraph would need to be 3 pages long.He is probablly a sweet man but that does not take away from the fact that he is a nut case. Ive learned more from PBS then him.
It shocks me to read these comments. I had Prof. Luisi for ENG 101 almost twenty years ago and thought, and still think, that he was one of the finest professors that I have ever had. Something must have happened to the man. (So I won't rate 5)
I have this guy fall 04,he is the worst professor I ever had.If you don't write the way he writes, you get all D's.His analysis is so wrong but yet still he thinks he is right.I actually hate him.If you are concerned about your GPA.Don't take Luisi!!
beyond difficult to understand. if you dont write the way he tells you its anything below a C. Finally at the last weeks of the semester he finally eased up and gave me B's!! Not someone i would want to take in the future but a sweet old teacher.

Bottom line if u miss 3 classes u fail! No excuses... Plus he wants u to dictate what he says put your name on it and thats your paper, if u dont do it word for word u faill.. Hes an @ss!
He seems kind of self centered. The readings he picks are not east either. I don't like taking a quiz everyday but I rather do that than write essays. You only have to write an essay for the midterm and the final then quizzes thats it.

This man is mean. He is a 19th century schoolmaster. Does not compromise, he dictates. He uses the excuse of writing to get into your head. Made a female breakdown in class and then marked her absent when she walked out after two hours of his BS. Killer f
HE'S NOT THAT BAD!!! Quizzes everyday, a tremendous amount of reading, vocab up the ying yang, but he breaks everything down thoroughly. Some of the reading is enjoyable some boring and all of it is difficult. Oh yea, and you CANNOT eat or drink in class.

This guy is not as bad as most students make him out to be. Just do the work, although it's a lot of material, it's worth it. But if you want to get an easy "A" this is not the guy to take unless you are ready to work.

Whats with all the bad reviews? Yes the work is very difficult, and there is a ton of it, but if you do it, you shouldnt have any problems with the daily quizzes. Study hard and you wont have problems, and dont be late, absent, and dont eat.

His way or no way. Opinions aren't allowed. Write every single word he says and put them back into your papers. 19 century approach to teaching and disciple. Knows his subject though.
He is very critical of the writing, he puts down his student in front of the whole class. However, he does explain the readings very well and goes into a lot of detail. He needs to lighten up.
Knows his stuff. Hates people. If you love poetry or want to love poetry stay away. If you want to hate it...he is your man. I have never taken a class with such a mean teacher.
Just avoid him. He is the worst professor I ever met.
Granted, he is an old-school prof. who does his work and expects you to do the same. But he was the only one who could articulate how to improve your writing. I didn’t need to see tutors. He will ask you to write on the same topic at least three times. But if you put your faith in this guy, you will get what you wished for. I loved his class.
A nightmare. If you know you're talented in the reading and interpretation of literature, don't waste your time on this course for students who like to be demeanded and told exactly what to think. Daily quizzes on vocab-not content. He reads to class the entire duration, has no talent for analysis and expects same of students.

Avoid this guy , spends alot of time talking about his personnel life. If you want a class that's mechanical and where you feel like your intellect is being stifled then he's the prof for you.
Wonderful professor.Very passionate with the readings. Pulls you in and makes it come alive. He really cares about his students. You get more out of class then just assignments. You grow. so if you want an easy A no, this is not the class for you. Maybe college isn't the place for you either! He is the best professor at BC. Highly recommended!

Not an easy professor, but he helps to improve your writing style. He is very knowledgeble on the subject area, but if you're looking for an easy A, do not take his class. I personally learned alot from his class.

The professor is very difficult and strict. He spends a lot of time discussing his personal life, and has a one-track mind. He doesn't see things from another perspective. We spent a lot of time discussing stupid poetry. I was always bored out of my mind. I would not recommend to anyone. He is not an easy A.I usually get A's and B's and I got a C+.

I recommend this class to anybody thats has the discipline to get to class on time,hand in papers on time,and make the neccesary adjustments to get a passing mark.If you can't do all three don;t take this class. If you follow that recipe this class will be fun and you will learn succesful writing skills.
I worked hard, did all the work and the homework.Deserved a B+ gor a D due to professors screwup, and he refused to discuss it. Cost me a book scholarship I had gotten at my high school. Worst prof in BC.

This professor talks about everything but the classwork. Loses the homework and expects you to resubmit it. Kingboro is too good for this prof.

Don't expect too much from this professor. He is not helpful. Never sign a form for his student in taking a english tutor and also laugh yr asking. Anyway, He is not a fair professor.
I personally liked his class. Yes he was strict about his "writing guidelines" but if you can adjust to those you got it made. He made me tear up almost everytime he talked about some deep matter. Defintely a good professor, not so much for an easy A, but more for the essence of learning and experiencing.

Professor Luisi was a wonderful teacher. He was funny and pleasant to be in class with. Every class we had work due, but he would correct and hand it back immediately. We had a term paper due in the end, but it was comprised of the work he had corrected all semester, so it was a guaranteed good grade if you corrected what he asked.
Beware! He is hard!
Very difficult class to sit through. He uses his students to get his life's failures and problems out there. Very hard to write a paper he likes without repeating his own words back to him (which he loves). However, he did grade fair in the end, and if you work hard you will likely be somewhat satisfied with your grade. Overall not so great.
Repeat his words to pass. Don't think. Even better, drop this professor if you are unlucky enough to get him!!
Professor Luisi was the best professor I ever had and I have had a lot of professors. He talked a lot about himself which made the classes wonderfully entertaining. The work was hard but well worth the effort. I learned a lot more than English composition in his classes. I would only recommend him to people that are interested in learning.

A bit mean, comes off as terrible to many students. Makes it seem like you're not entitled to your own opinion when you are writing a paper. But the point of his class is to teach you to write. He does teach good writing format.Just write down every word the way he wants it and your grades will slowly go up to what they should. Will help if you ask
If you get him switch asap. Run dont walk! NO matter what do not disagree with him or bother forming your own opinions in class unless you want to fail. I had him 3 yrs ago as a freshman and thought he was a reflection of what college would be like and nearly droped out. He will teach you not to think or feel.

Mr. Luisi was my English teacher back in 80´s, well versed and knowledgeable of his subject; I personally thank him for his supporting time in and out of the campus, and for inducing me, as a foreigner, into the Shakespeare´s vernacular. Best rates for the professor.
This man breathe Shakespeare and classics. I took him back in early 2004-2007. He is very hard but he makes you want to learn. He was amazing here it is 2022 and he has still made a mark. He was the best.
