This professor is pretty tough, and her tests are kinda hard, but she's nice! The class started with about forty students and now it's down to about 15, so u do the math on her hardness!!!

Her class was hard, but for the time I actually learned something in math. She gave tons of notes, but they were really clear and she made sure that everyone understood the concepts. If you do the work you are fine!
VERY CLEAR AND ORGANIZED NOTES. I ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD THE WORK AND I DIDN'T NEED A TUTOR. SHE'S A BIT INTIMIDATING AND NOT VERY APPROACHABLE BUT IF YOU TAKE ALL THE NOTES AND DO THE HOMEWORK (VERY IMPORTANT), AND STUDY....YOU'LL BE FINE.
She is the most clear and most organized professor I've taken. She can't make things much easier to learn. Only problem is that if for some reason you don't understand what she has taught its difficult to approach her.

Professor Barone is a very organized and skilled woman. She doesn't like to teach what's not in the cirriculum, and I don't blame her...she's not getting paid to slow down the class. It's college, and it's your job to know the material. Her exams are difficult, but practice makes perfect :)

I am usualy so bad in math and it was my second time taking this course and with her help...i got an 89 on my final and a B+ as my final grade. very helpful and if you work hard, you will pass! I definitly recommend
Very good as a professor, but very difficalt as a person. She is good and very easy, but she doesn't like to help you a lot. If you going to take her just prepare to make everything she says, and prctice, practice, practice.... Howevere, she failed me, I still appreciate her as a very good professor.

Shes ok, but she moves very quickly and is very unclear. She also has a very condescending character towards her students and will make you feel stupid. Only reason i did well in this class is because i did all the homework, extra practice, and read the textbook.

when you come to class on time and listen to her carefully, she is a really good teacher. she explains everything very clear and understandable so when you ask stupid questions she gets angry and it is normal. i was getting angry to my classmates also when they came out with the most weird questions. however, she gives a lot of homework but helpful

absolute worst teacher i have ever experienced. this old lady laughs at questions and rarely even gives you the opportunity to ask them. if you want to be in a class where you must learn the material soley from the textbook and because the teacher sucks, feel free to attend any of her classes.
Worst Math teacher in history of college, please listen to all of these comments and dont take her, i read the comments before i took her and thought they were wrong. After being in that class for a week i realized how true they were. TERRIBLE TEACHER!!! I had to drop out because i was doing so bad.

I took her class in summer and I think that i've passed just because of her.I hate math,but she made it so clear and easy.I don't know what is your problem guys.She is really cool,just have to work every day.I didn't expect that I'll pass so easily.Just study,pay attention.She is really nice old lady,I just love her.

precal in baruch is so hard but she made it easier to understand. this was my second time taking precal n i actually understood it with her. she is very demanding but it helps
She was a really great professor. She tends to laugh at you a lot though. If you don't understand something ASK...she'll give you a smirk and probably be a little bit sarcastic but she'll make you understand what you are doing.
She's an alright teacher. Her exams are pretty fair and easy actually, although I kinda messed up because I didn't study enough. The class was actually pretty fun because I have goofy classmates that always joke around. Final exam is hard though so you gotta study a lot for it.

Prof. Barone helps those who help themselves. She cares about her students. Since she has no control over the final exam she tries her best to teach us everything we need to know. This is not an easy subject by any means.
She teaches really fast and most of the time people barely have time to catch up to what she's teaching. Gives lots of hws and they're not easy to do either. She doesn't really prepare you well for the department final. She made my very first semester in Baruch a living hell. There are better teachers to take than her.
Professor Barone helps those who help themselves. If she sees that you strive to learn what she teaches, you'll quickly get on her good side. She knows slackers when she sees them, so beware! Overall, a better-than-average professor.

If math isn't your subject take another prof! trust me!
She is a very good professor but very tough. She will tell you that if you are not doing the homework or webwork, you will not do very well on the final. I studied really hard and had a B+/B average before the final. When I took the final, I thought I failed but I ended up with an A- in the class. If you take her, prepare to work hard!
Barone is an excellent professor. Always willing to explain concepts you don't understand. Notes are very clear. Take advantage of her office hours! She's very helpful. She assigns hw every class, which sounds terrible, BUT doing homework every night makes studying for the final less agonizing. Only take her class if you plan on taking it seriously
This is my second time taking MTH 2003 and I wish I had her as my professor last semester. She explains everything really well and her exams are pretty much like the homework she assigns. Also, be aware of her dry sense of humor. She may joke around about how slow you are, but she's only trying to push you to put more effort into this class
Easy teacher if your willing to work hard. All the Hw's are online, study before the tests.
Prof. Barone's sense of humor might rub you the wrong way, but you can tell she cares. If you attend class and do your homework you won't have any trouble with the class. You will be using mathlab. Homework everyday but it is to reinforce what you learned in class. Occasionally gives quizzes. You will learn in this class if you try. I got an A.
She doesn't help at all...if you ask a question she will reply with more questions. She screams at the students and she wants you to know everything before she teaches the lesson. She is the worst professor i've ever had.

If you are willing to overlook the fact that you have to teach yourself the whole course, she's not that bad. Her tests and quizzes are fair and always announced beforehand with exactly what's on it. She has a salty attitude but if you are courageous enough to ask her for help she will help you. Though she may make snide remarks at your questions.

This particular professor is very sarcastic to students when they ask for help. She just makes me feel like I'm completely alone in this course, like if I ask for help, I'm supposed to already know the answer! She does not teach with much clarity. I feel like we are literally self-teaching ourselves the material.

This professor has an old-school teaching method. Her goal is to challenge us into thinking for ourselves. She does no spoon-feeding; you'll have to put in work to solve problems. She expects you to know your stuff, skipping the steps you should know, so if you're expecting a professor who'll review every single thing, she is not the one for you!
She's not as bad as everyone portrays her, she does have her moments when she can be very annoying but overall she's a pretty good professor, very old school type, knows her math very well, participation does matter in her class and just make sure you pay attention in class and you will do fine.

I had to drop this class because of the use of Math Lab. I personally cannot take professors who rely heavily on internet programs to run the course. Inputing numbers and algebra terms into Pearsons from a MAC is torturous. I wish teachers would go back to the pen and paper esp for math & languages. Otherwise, she seemed fine & has nice handwriting
The worst math professor Baruch has. She just writes questions on the board and expects you to solve them on your own, and does not go over them unless you ask. And even when you ask she makes a big deal out of it. And she can not hear when taking attendance, and will mark you absent for no reason.
She is a good professor, only you have to study the materials that she is giving. The tests that she is giving is in the final. She prepares you for the final, but also you have to submit homeworks and quizes on time. Hard work gives its results. I got A- for the course.
While she may be very intimidating at the start, by the end of the semester you will appreciate how much you learn from her if you really put the effort in. Uses MathLab for Homework and Quizzes. Three tests and one final which she gives review sheets and a little bit of review in the class prior. The grade you get is the grade that you deserve.

Tests are multiple choice but YOU MUST SHOW THE PERFECT WORK. A correct answer with an error in the work will be counted wrong. Reminds me of Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter. Avoid.

Pay attention to all comments. She does not teach or explain. You end up liking her but that does not mean you'll learn. Picks her fave students to dictate the solutions and she moves on. Just take anyone else . Low amount of problems. Choses top 2-3 students to solve he problems on the borad that she is supposed to explain. Does NOT explain, if she atempts it is the last part, wont go in detail and will say you should know that from high school. Makea fun of you. Barely talks. She says most of you will fail and laughs. knew all the material from hs but this course was PAINFULLY slow and she would unnecessarily make fun of students. easy A for me but tough to get through bc she is NOT a people person and drags on.. puts the problems on the board, then calls on a student to solve the problem. not a great teaching method if you arent great at algebra

She doesn't know how to teach, she just writes the questions on the board and stares at the students expecting them to know and answer. For notes, she will write them on the board and not explain them. Her tests are so hard cause she doesn't teach!! She gives HW everyday.
Honestly the worst teacher/professor Ive ever had in my life. I could you not, I wasnt able to learn anything in her class and failed all tests/quizzes (only got one 100 on a quiz). The only reason why I passed this class is because I spent 3 days going over the practice finals which made me get 100 on the final. Dont take her!!

Tried very hard to understand her style of teaching. Will give notes and will explain by saying "its likes this because it's just like that"... so you'll get nowhere with it. Self studying is very important if you're stuck with her. What you get on homework is what you get, so you'll have to get perfect scores. So best of luck! You'll need it.
I do not know where all the hate is coming from. I am currently taking her class and even though I failing so far it is totally my fault because I did not study enough. Once you get to know her she is a really nice person. You have to study though. If you want an easy A this is not for you.
She definitely knows the material, but she simply doesn't teach. She doesn't explain why things are the way they are, and expects students to already know the source material. If that were the case, why take the class? And she gets an attitude when asked to explain.
I had taken pre calc and calc in high school, so I already had a decent understanding of the class. She gave okay notes, but I felt like you still had to learn a bit on your own. She rarely answered our questions. Honestly she mostly responded with kind of rude comments. If you study and pay attention you'll be fine, but she can be frustrating.
The finals counts a considerable amount to your grade.

Barone was never clear on the grading criteria and was completely useless in regards to feedback and access to information. Classes were spent with her putting up problems, making fun of students when they weren't able to figure them out, and never providing with how the problem is done. Worst teacher I've ever had and a terrible person too.
Professor Barone is BY FAR the worst professor I've ever had. Prepare to mostly teach yourself the material as she does a dreadful job of doing so. Test heavy (not necessarily a bad thing). Extremely unprofessionaloverly sarcastic and at times, downright rude. Zero feedback on your progress. Run far, far away from any class with this professor.
Tells you how to do math but doesn't TEACH the theory or HOW to do it. Spews out formulas and just makes you do multiple problems without explaining HOW. Also, she has an all or nothing grading policy for tests. No partial credit for any problems, and you NEED TO SHOW WORK FOR MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS. Unfair grading, and pitiful teaching.
Get ready to teach yourself. She's old school and does problems on a tiny whiteboard without explaining concepts. The class isn't interactive, you'll copy notes and memorize. Lectures are useless, the online homework teaches you more than her class. She skips over things cause she assumes you know it, and is rude. Horrible at communicating too.

So much HW. Tests are way harder than class work. Does not TEACH, only demonstrates. Jumps from topic to topic too quickly, making it hard to learn/understand. Kind of rude; not always though. This class is for people who are good at math and can pretty much teach themselves. She does not explain the logic, I think she expects us to already know it
She assumes you already know the concepts. She offers help outside the classroom but barely replies to any emails. You have to teach yourself. If you're not good at math and don't have the concepts clear, you will suffer in this class because you are expected to know everything already. Also, the textbook will help you more than the actual class.
