She is very opinionated... and she likes to play the devils advocate... don’t feel bad if she doesn’t agree with you... she might actually agree but she wont tell you... study for the quizzes a little but don’t stress to much... you will learn a lot if you get involved.

I took Child Psych. Social Psych. and Dev. Across Lifespan with her. She's great. Her teaching methods are fair and if you do the work, you will earn an A everytime. Her life experiences make her credibility. I wish i could take more classes of hers but I'm done with all my psych classes. Best college professor yet!

Great teacher, loves her subject. Lots of work, but easy if you keep up. Long paper to write, but its VERY easy if you know how to write a good paper. Ask lots of questions, she gives good answers!

Easy A if you are willing to do your work and follow the weekly quiz hints she gives you! The final exam is the best, if you keep track of all the correct answers from previous quizzes!

HIGHLY recommend her! Such a nice teacher, and has a unique personality. Always making the class interesting and in a good mood. Had her for Development Across the Lifespan. Class Lectures are very interested and she encourages participation, its a lot of fun. Extra credit on every quiz & tells you what is going to be on the quizes, 5 short projects and all the old quizes are the final-so don't lose your answer sheet and circle the right answers when she goes over the quiz

LOVE HER! She keeps you awake by actually talking about interesting things. Very easy A if you attend class. Just do the ch questions, the small projects, and take the quizzes and you will be fine.

Easy to learn in this class if you read the book and listen to the discussions. She is knowledgable and open to dialog with students to make the material clearer. Plus sexy in an earth-mother, hippy sort of way.

Loved her! Always had interesting stories/tangents and tests were not hard if you at least tried a little. You are dumb if you don't make use of her quiz hints before a quiz. That's about the only parts of the books you have to read. Her finals were based on quizes so you already had the answers!!!

Cool teacher. If you actually want to learn psychology then I don't recommend taking her. She basically gives you her opinion the entire class. Very easy class if you do your weekly quizzes, blog, and vocab..yes every week. Had two 100 point writing assignments. Got a 100 on both. Her grading is so fair. Can get boring during class. Good Luck

This class is easy if you put in the work required. One quiz a week, one Chapter question a week and 4 papers. This final is the quizzes combined. If you are to ask her a question, do NOT get offended by her answer. Accept it and move on. YOU ASKED FOR HER OPINION She does want everyone to do good, show her that you try your best & show up to class

Carol Bean is the best professor of all time!

Refreshing to have an honest and tell it like it is professor! Loved this class, easy!!!!You just have to do the work. Some students need to lighten up, she would never hold a difference of opinion against anyone.

Carol is a very straight forward professor in every way. She lays out what she expects from you and does not diverge. There is a lot of work but she gives extra credit which gives plenty of opportunity for a good grade. She allows a first draft of to be submitted for papers which ensures you an A. She is very opinionated but fair in her grading.

Although the work is simple and she makes it pretty clear what is expected, her personality is lacking. Maybe she would be more enjoyable to take on campus, but online she often comes across as rude.

I do not understand the poor comments. This teacher is awesome and yes she has her own views, but she respects yours too. You can't expect every teacher to like your opinions, that is why they are your teachers because they have to open your mind. ASK !!! She will answer. Show up, participation matters. Read & study, material is easy to understand.

This teacher makes you work for your grade. She likes helping students in any way that she can. She always has a positive attitude.

Carol is very helpful. I was scared to take her for research methods in psych because of the previous reviews but she is not bad at all. She speaks her mind so it comes off as being rude when she really isn't. Quiz once a week, 2 papers, 1 powerpoint to present to class, 1 to other RACC students,&one test consisting of all the quizzes. Take her!

Carol is an awesome teacher!! If you have any questions she is always there. She responses to her emails quickly, and explains things if you don't fully understand. Take her for any psy class!!

Carol Bean-Ritter is one of the best psychology professors, she is hilarious and gets straight to the point. People who don't seem to like her may have there own biases at play and cannot see that she is an excelent and easy going professor. Just read your text and you will be fine!!

She gives a chance to submit papers a week early for grading and gives it back to let you fix any mistakes. Her assignments are based on what you read. Don't take this class if you're lazy or looking for something easy. Lectures are engaging and interesting, I always had good discussions in class. I learned a lot and would definitely take her again

Mrs. Ritter is a wonderful teacher. In the beginning of the semester she mentioned that students tend to not like her. Her humor is a little different-sure. But, overall she is very helpful, keeps an open mind, and expects nothing less than any other teacher would. If you're easily offended this class may not be for you.. Great teacher nontheless

Prof. Bean-Ritter is very accommodating and is willing to offer help to anyone who needs it. She also tells funny stories. I look forward to her class. There are no surprises either, she makes sure everyone knows when each assignment is due! Very easy to work with.

We were the first Sociology class she taught. We read a chapter a week and had to take a quiz a week, and you could take the quiz online as many times as you wanted. We had 2 projects, a midterm, and a final. If you read the chapters, showed up, and listened to her lecture, you should have easily passed. She's a fun teacher.

Carol is a great teacher. A little out there but that beats the normal boring professor you could have for an orientation class. Dont miss class especially in the excelerated course as its a point based class and your grade will drop. Otherwise she is an interesting teacher who grades fairly and the class in not mentally taxing. Solid choice.

This is the cap-stone course for PSY. It by no means hard, just plenty of work. Carol will work with you, you just need to go to her when you need the help. You will get plenty of feed back. The papers are a real drag and will piss you off. This class is all about learning, 100%. If you don't get an A you didn't care or did not communicate with her

I loved Mrs. Bean-Ritter she was so sweet and caring she always brought us food in the morning for breakfast. The class is easy too it is all online and really easy to do.

Although textbook online I prefer to have a hard copy (Barnes and Nobles) . I read she is uncaring and very difficult however, as an older student if you email her your areas of difficulty she will walk you through it. I am going to take her for sociology also. Just keep in touch with her.

She is amazing and funny. you dont have to go to class to get a good grade but she makes you want to. time flys during it and she really is fantastic.

Enjoyed my course with Carol Bean-Ritter. She gives constructive feedback and even joins in for discussion posts! She tries to encourage students to think deeply about the content. This course was more loosely structured (it was great) so it is possible to work ahead.

I was scared to take Research Methods but she made it very manageable to get through. She allows you to make revisions on your research papers and gives amazing feedback. Easy to pass class as long as youre doing your quizzes every week, working on your research papers and attending classes.

I toon this class online with professor ritter. Even though there was no interaction she would message us and was available. She cares that you pass and tries to work with you to improve your grade which is rare. Also offers plenty of extra credit. She was great! Thank you professor!

Carol made general psych the easiest class I've ever taken. If you participate and pay attention, which is a big part of her class, and follow instructions you will have no problems. She's very blunt, which can upset people, but she has 100 other students so don't take it personally. I've never been scolded for asking for help.

I took the class online and it was the easiest class I have ever taken. Just do the work and redo the assignment and quizzes you didn't get a 100 on. She's pretty blunt, but that is just her it's not personal. She gave SO many extra credit assignments. She cares about participation in the zooms though, just pay attention and stay engaged.

Had honors fandoms with her. People complain about her attitude but she does not insult you, she is just very blunt that you need to get your work done. And if you get to know her a bit you will see she is caring towards the well being of her students. Her feedback is more constructive criticism that comes off as blunt. Love this professor.

I'm not even done with the course yet but I love this class. It's the only one I look forward to attending, she is so entertaining and the course work doesn't make me lose my mind.

She provides excellent feedback and always gives you the opportunity for a better grade.
