Her 3 tests are kinda challenging but she is very funny and pretty cool. She's young so she knows whats up and she really knows her stuff. You have 2 papers which are pretty easy and can miss up to 5 classes. Take her, she's really cool.

Great teacher, she really shares a lot with you. Three papers, each on a different book, and 4 easy project papers. She grades a lot tougher on the papers, but if you put a lot of effort into it, you should get an A. Has a thorough participation grade, but a great class overall. Highly recommended.

Great honors class to take. She is so funny and tells the greatest stories about things going on in her life. No tests, Only papers! Fairly easy grader. I really dislike sociology, but she made the class worth coming to. A good amount of reading, but not all is absolutely necessary, which you'll learn throughout the semester. 4 free absences! Take!

A wonderful professor. Class isn't the easiest, but she makes you want to come every day. Gotta love her stories too. 4 papers, 3 projects, but no tests. It's very obvious that she knows her stuff, and is such a nice person to boot. Always seems willing to help with anything you need. Really laid back about most things, a great class to take.

She teaches the non-honors course differently, just to make everyone aware. But overall, I liked her. In the beginning I thought I wouldn't, but she turned out to have a good sense of humor and is a pretty good teacher. She is really interested in soci, and wants u to be too. If u spend the minimum time needed to study, an A or B shouldn't be hard.

To be perfectly honest, I was more interested in the class in the beginning than towards the end. We spent way too much time talking about McDonalds and Alienation. There was too much time spent discussing simple concepts, not enough time on history, and too much time on assignments which seem to prove nothing but that we have no answers.

She is a very good teacher. Talks alot in class about random stuff sometimes but she is very helpful and will meet with you if you need help. 3 projects and 2 take home essay tests no in class tests other than group work. She is a great teacher. Id take her again!

This is not an easy class. She is nice and explains things alright, but it's a lot of work. A paper every few weeks and she's a hard grader. I got an A, but it was tough. She goes on random rants and talks about her exs a lot. She's fun and makes class interesting. Good teacher.

When Towson reps talk about one-on-one student/professor relationships where the student feels important and concerned for, they probably are talking about Carol Caronna. It is hard to pull an A in this class, but this is one of the most memorable courses you'll ever take. Oh, and bless'er, she really wanted someone to give her a chili pepper.

I took her class two years ago and loved it so much that I keep looking for another class I can take with her. You will have to work in the class and you must do the readings but its really worth it! Very Very funny lady and she really cares for her students

Good teacher - Hard materials to get into so do yourself a favor and don't take her organizations class - absolutly boring stuff! She expects alot from her students- only take this course if you have lots of time to donate to it.. oh and she has serious OCD...

Definitely a cool professor. You should expect to work, seriously, you should. I would advise taking notes on all of the readings and take all notes from the board. OK class.....makes a gen ed more then a gen ed! meaning lots of work! really nice and cool, attendance is mandatory and test and exam are fairly hard but if u study hard you'll get at least a B

Great teacher, gives a lot of readings but she also uses the readings for exams. Exams are very fair and she tells you what will be on the exam. What more do you want?

this class is one of my hardest. ive never studied so much til i got to this class. tests are very hard and if you dont keep up with your reading you will quickly fall behind.

Although attendance is mandatory, she allows you four unexcused absences and is pretty lenient about excusing absences after four. She is however, very strict about the due dates of projects and papers. If you walk into class late the day a paper is due, even 5 mins late, the paper is considered late and a letter grade is deducted.

You must be ready to work in this class. Caronna forces you to do the reading and understand it! The projects are tough at first, but get better. I got an A- in the class and really had to work for it. It's the first time that I really feel proud of my grade! Caronna is great, once you get past her blunt honesty.

Caronna is a good teacher but you need to work hard for your A. Some the the concepts in the class were hard to understand and she did her best to explain them. Participation is a big part of your grade

I thought she was great, the class was interesting and you learn a lot. There are outside readings that can be pretty long but if you read them and are prepared for the next class, it's an easy grade. You need to study for tests and if you miss class, you miss a lot. I would recommend it to anyone.

Honestly, those who didn't do well in her 101 class didn't try. She gives plenty of opportunities for you to do well (including participation) but I guess some people are too lazy to even do that. Caronna is one of the best sociolgy teachers I have had. She's my CRMJ advisor now and I LOVE her. If you study you will do well and learn ALOT.

This is exactly what an honors intro class should be. The classes are almost entirely discussion based, the two short papers are based on the assigned readings (so read!), and she is very helpful and will do what she can to help with an assignment. Very good professor.

This class covered a lot of material but if you payed attention and reviewed what Prof Caronna suggested tests are not that hard.

Caronna teaches well, makes sure you work thoroughly through the early assignments because all the material is expanded upon later, this will make a difference and make the class 10x more easy. Caronna knows her stuff, and she knows BS when she see it, but she will grade well for shown effort and good work. Good honors intro class.

she expects ALOT from u. there are 3 projects which are veryyy time consuming. a midterm and final paper which are alot harder than u would expect and reading notes. assigns grades very fairly and do all the reading which is a ton but she talks like shes actually likes the subject and wants u to get something out of her class!

I took Honors intro to SOCI, so it might be a little different from 101, but either way she's a great professor. Lots of readings, and writing intensive, but you have lots of chances for success. She's funny and sarcastic and chill too. She really helps you every step of the way. I definitely would take her again.

She's a funny professor. Ask her about her brown ribbon awareness idea. There's a lot of reading. Do it. There are also papers in place of exams. The final is open book, open note, so take good notes and make sure you can understand and apply the material. She does give you chances to improve, so if you need it, take advantage of it.

Cool professor, extremely fair grader. For honors sections, only had to write a few essays and one large final. I'd highly recommend this professor.

Strict attendance policy, and lateness policy. Cares about student performance. Very nice and tells some interesting stories. Exams include multiple choice and essay. Multiple choice based on in-class pictures, lecture, and some specific "did you do the reading?" questions. Very easy 3 part project that she provides examples for. Good prof!

I LOVE HER! She's so sweet and funny and her notes are organized and easy to follow. Not a hard class at all. She is really understanding and will always help you. She takes her work seriously and loves to teach. There are three exams and a final. One 3-part project that she walks you through completely. Lots of extra credit. Easy A! I reccomend :)

great person you need to work for an a but has great humor. i failed the first test and went to her office hours she is always willing to help and i got an a. final is cummulative and her tests are mostly on PP semitough grader. tests have multiple choice and short answer. do the readings dont leave class early, no phone no facebook be respectful

I had her years ago, but she was a good professor, but she did not help me to pass the class. I do not think I would recommend any to take this professor.

If you participate in her class not only will it make the class go fun but you get a higher grade. Shes pretty cool and has a sense of humor, but make sure you do the readings.

One of the best professors I have had at Towson. Great person and good sense of humor. She knows we do not want to be bored to death with notes and powerpoints so she makes it interesting. Dr. Caronna is EXCELLENT. she is really knowledgeable about sociology and really funny. She is available to students. The class is an easy A if you're willing to put a bit of work in.

She is funny and really knowledgeable. No nonsense or tricky test questions. She made an effort to relate the subject material to things in her life, which made it interesting. She is enthusiastic to answer questions and is available for meetings outside of class. This class takes effort, but I highly recommend it as a Gen. Ed.

LOVED HER! So real and down to earth, related topics to her/our lives in order to help us understand. A couple projects, but nothing too difficult, the directions are very clear and precise. She is really helpful, and responds really well to e-mails. Tests are simple, all multiple choice. Overall, enjoyable. I reccommend if you need to take a GenEd

The books, ehh you really don't have to read but you should. Tons of essays and in class writing but all generally easy and she outlines each assignment so you know exactly what she is looking for

Favorite professor at Towson. She is awesome. The class is hard but you will thank her later especially if you want to go to Grad school. She really prepares you for it. You can not just ramble on papers you need sites and proof. Learned a lot and was challenged fairly.

ne of my favorites! Gives great feedback on assignments, really cares about the students and gets to know them. Great teaching style and works hard to grade fairly and lead goo discussions. One big time consuming project and 10 reading responses but it is all worth it in the end since it prepares you for the final. Definitely take her!

SHE IS AMAZING! One of my favs! She makes an 8 AM class worth going to because she is funny and engaging. Her feedback is amazing! I have no interest in orgs and society but she actually make the topic interesting and very relatable! I would def recommend this class and as long as you do the work (which is NOT a lot) you will get an easy A!

She is funny, understanding and has no false hopes about us a students. the class was hard but she knows that and warns us at the beginning of the semester. 2 papers w/ clear guidelines. incredibly fair grading prob cause she's very experienced, and still not uptight. The professor is awesome. She is down to earth and understands students have a social life. She makes the class challenging but there is a lot of work that goes into it. There are 4 projects throughout the semester which takes a lot of time but she is willing to help you if you need it. Do all your work and you'll do fine in the class.

Basically be a good student and you should get no less than a B. If you actually pay attention you'll hear all the humorous things she says. I not only loved her as a professor but as a human being. She's a very interesting lady and above all she is a social scientist and it shows!

She is a very nice person. She is also a good teacher. Sometimes she nitpicks a little bit. One time she reprimanded the class for packing up early and it was less than a minute before the 1 hour and 15 minute class ended. I definitely recommend her though.

Interesting class for the most part, largely due to the professor. She has some really funny stories that she uses as examples of concepts we learn in class and is pretty honest about her views on things. The class was kind of boring some days (especially when she went over the test after she graded them) but I don't regret taking it.

Dr. Caronna has a great attitude, she shares a lot of personal details which helps for understanding material more thoroughly, this can turn into a bit of an TMI situation at times.

One major project broken into 3 parts easy A. Tests are difficult if you do not read or study a lot for it. The teacher is very nice. The class requires effort by reading all required material and studying for all tests. I recommend this teacher if you are willing to read a lot and study quite a bit for the tests.

Professor Caronna is the best professor I have had since being at Towson, she is always willing to help you with projects/homework, and she explains every project the best way possible so that you have the best chance to get an A. Would take again in a heartbeat. She is also hilarious and makes class enjoyable and fun.

She makes sure everyone is accommodated. Very clear about directions. Sometimes boring or slow, but not too bad. Dr. Caronna really wants people to succeed. If you read the textbook sections she assigns, do the readings, and follow along in class, you will know exactly what to study for the exams. Her assignments are not extremely difficult.

I love her! She has such an organized and clear criteria on how to do the projects and papers. The final is open note so if you take good notes, you'll do fine. I'm definitely taking her again when I get the chance. If you do what she asks of you, you'll pass without a doubt.

Dr. Caronna is an amazing lady. She made my sociology class very enjoyable and I even switched my major to SOAN because of how much I liked the class. I'm doing pretty well and I'm glad I switched. You do need the texts, work effort and study skills, but it's an easily passible class. She's very knowledgable and passionate. If you need C6 take her!

Dr. Caronna is super quirky and makes class enjoyable. Class is based on mainly papers and projects which can be kind of difficult. But she is very willing to help and give feedback whenever you need it.

I think she was a great professor. The only thing I hated was that her class is at 8 am. If you cannot wake up at 8 am, please do not take this class. However, she was awesome. She was very flexible with me not attending. I recommend you read but I did not lol. Do not be afraid to talk to her. She is very understanding.

This professor made me want to take more sociology classes. What I can say about this professor is that you should be fine if you try to follow the directions and guidelines. I had so much fun in this course, and it was exciting. Very kind!

8AM can be tough, but the lecture is important to understanding how the readings all tie together. Textbooks were cheap/provided, workload very easy if you did the readings: she posted reading guides for each. Project was super easy, Final was just as easy if you read/engaged. Class geared more towards sociology, would take again

She is so amazing! also, she is relatable and makes sure her students are understood. She considers sleeping in as a mental health day, she made me love sociology from a psychology and nursing major! she also will give you three excused absences and you should email her ahead if you know you are going to be absent.
