Came highly recommended by other math instructors. She really Wants her students to succeed. If I'd had an instructor like her in grammar school I would be a math genious now.
unclear, rude, not really interested in helping students learn. if you're alredy good in math take her class, but if you need help she is not the teacher to take.

Great teacher; came highly reccommended, I highly recommend her. Does EVERYTHING she can to help, explains with excellent detail. I am not good at math, and she makes it easy. Always goes out of her way to help.
not what i expected as far as what the ratings said. she was not helpful, or clear.
I had her for 2 math classes. She made math easy for me. I hated math but she helped me so much. I highly recommend her I got a high B in stats which wasn't that easy
good teacher but a lot of homework
If you already know your stuff, shes the lady to take. She doesnt bug you during class, so you can get all your homework done while she explains everything to the other less knowledgable people.
Great Math Teacher!
This woman genuinely cares for her students. She takes the time to explain any problem a student has. She also has a unique way of teaching math so that people like myself who utterly despise it, can get through it.
she's just wierd
Nice teacher, explains pretty well compared to other teachers, though needs better markers for the white board can;t see in the back. Also funny makes werid comments during class which makes the class goes faster.
Not a friendly professor at all. Avoid at all costs. A real *****.
Pretty good teacher

She's a great teacher, She is gives you ten extra points for on time HMWRK. weekly she gives a sample test to study, its exactly like the real test only the numbers are just changed. She's there for you with zero attitude, even beyond her office hours. Whoever left that nasty message about her is a LOSER!!! She's a great teacher U cant go wrong.
very nice and enjoys wat she teaches. very helpful if u dont understand sumthin just ask in class n she'll explain it or just ask after class in private. her test are very similar 2 the review sheets she givs durin each chapter just on the test its different #and rearrange. gives hw everyday if u do all of them she givs u an extra 10% on the test.
She is the best instructor I have ever had. She is truly a "teacher." She wants her students to succeed and does everything right to make it happen. If you show up and do your homework you should pass this class.
she is one of the better math instructors, take her! actually takes time to explain, rather than rushing through it just to "get it out of the way." but she's not boring at all, very easy to follow along with. it's hard to not do well in her classes. but she is strict on attendance, will drop you if you miss certain amount of days, really!
She is a good teacher. She explains her stuff really well. If you do the homework and turn it in nightly you should have no trouble passing the test. She gives you surprise quizes, but lets you work with someone. Overall though, if you get the chance to take her, take her.
WOW, Mrs, Curtis is so awsome. She Completes most of the assignments she pre-said. She give out "cheat-sheets." So helpful. She makes everyone understand. If you stay on task, man you'll definatly get an "A." I've been slacking off, but damn i got a B in the class, and it's Statistics too. Curtis is one on the best teacher at this school.
Don't let the smile fool you! She is interesting and good at teaching, BUT she IS VERY PICKY. she will not allow any error for home work or test. ex.(7.0 does not equal 7.00) you will get the answer wrong! she doesn't grade if you know the material but rather that you know how to follow specific directions!
SHE IS A REALLY GREAT TEACHER. IF YOU DO THE HOMEWORK NIGHTLY AND TURN IT IN, SHE GIVES YOU TEN EXTRA POINTS ON THE TEST. SHE GIVES YOU A STUDY SIMILIAR TO THE ACTUAL TEST. I HAD HER FOR MATH 101, 103, AND 10A AND WOULD NOT TAKE ANY MATH CLASS EXCEPT HER'S. SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER AND LOVES TEACHING. IF YOU ARE SCARED TO TAKE MATH, TAKE HER. YOU CAN
Thanks! :(
I hated that class. One little mistake and you dont receive credit for the entire homework. The homework will take 2-3 hours to complete for one chapter. Do one mistake and you wasted that time. Test are different from the homework and lecture and most likely you'll fail a couple. It is a time consuming class. Plus her lecture is boring as heck.
This teacher was so hard it's not even funny. She doesn't give you a break at all. I took her cause I heard she was good, but after taking her and most of the class failed I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
very nice person but tries to trick you on exams. She does explain things well, but be careful on the study guides she gives prior to exam- it's misleading.
Mrs. Curtis is a very good teacher. She explains her material very good and well. She is very helpful and always there for tutoring if you need it. Textbook is a must!!! She gives you 10 extra points if you complete all your homework.Just show your work and how you got the answer, and boom. YOU got credit on it. Best math teacher i ever had.
Mrs. Curtis is an awesome teacher she helped me when i need help to pass her class. I recommend her for 103 , thats the class that i passed, i believe that she teaches other classes too.
Tough and fair. Lots of homework that MUST be turned in before exam. Very helpful and explains well.
HOMEWORK. She is the worst teacher at FCC. Dont take her. 21 out of 65 students had a F in the class after 2 month.
Mrs. Curtis is a great math teacher. She has homework every night but allows you to turn it in the day of the test without docking you any points. She will dock you points for being absent or tardy. She explains things very well and she has a bubbly personality, which makes it easy to deal with early in the morning! Highly recommended
She is a sweetheart. Really easy to understand. This was the only math class I ever had fun in! She makes plenty of time for you to meet in her office if you dont understand something. Homework for the entire chapter isnt due until the day of the test. As with any math class, it hurts you when youre absent. She is very helpful though.
Her speech is rapid. This makes notetaking difficult. Ask lots of questions if u take her. She is a perfectionist and mechanical in teaching. 100 pts for each chapter and 10% given for homework toward tests. Extra credit given for final only.
Her speech is rapid. This makes notetaking difficult. Ask lots of questions if u take her. She is a perfectionist and mechanical in teaching. 100 pts for each chapter and 10% given for homework toward tests. Extra credit given for final only.
The plus side: she is a VERY good teacher, she takes time to explain everything very thoroughly and is very sweet. Minuses: Her tests are not mulitiple choice, they are all handwritten. So if you do not understand the material, u cannot fake it. She assigns a lot of HW (everynight) and it is EVERY odd,not every other) so it is time consuming.
The truth is, her lectures do go incredibly fast. What often happens is that you understand the material in class, but once you go to do the homework, you're completely lost. This is because she teaches you how to do the math, but doesn't teach you how to read the problems, which is problematic for those of us that are bad with word problems.
Great teacher especially for those of us that are mathematically challenged. Not hard to pass her class as long as you do all the hw because she adds 10% to your test scores, plus the practice helps :)
Wonderful teacher!Class is HARD!Use the mathxl that comes with your book, it helps.Lots of homework. Gives extra credits to boost your grade. It can help at the end.Explains everything well.Take good notes, once you are home you may not remember what you wrote.Good luck and happy studying!
This was the 1st math class i've ever enjoyed in my life! She's the best math teacher i've ever had. The key to her class is doing ALL the homework for each unit, if you do she gives 10 PERCENT X-tra credit on your unit tests! Very fair, explains well, isn't boring at all, and is super friendly! If you have to take math, take it with her!
Fantastic teacher! Very clear. Gives a lot of extra credit. If you go to class and do the homework you will do well. The homework is time consuming, but it is how you study for the tests.
70% fail or drop and she says its cuz you didn't do ALL your HWork (miss one it don't count) Practice tests are easy, test is hard with curves that trips most - the few only see a 65 to 85% on exam. Spends too much time going over the HW review because she didn't lecture on the hard stuff. Save yourself DON'T TAKE unless you want to take again.
for the ones who find math hard..attendance is going to be manditory. the test is the same as the study guide with different #'s. understand the concept of the study guide and do the hwk and you will get an A plus the 10 pts on the test as extra credit. A lot of hwk for 10 pts but worth it.
I've never understood math and I think this class w/ Curtis is EASY. ( I think that says a lot!) The material is kinda difficult, but she makes it really easy to understand, even for me. The h.w is pretty time consuming, but its not very difficult. She lets you use a cheat sheet on the test with formulas and the test is just like the review sheet.
Coming to class is a must...miss one day and your're wondering what to do...and homework is a plus...please do them they come in handy in the long run
Typical math class with one exception...attendance is mandatory. Miss too many classes and your grade will actually suffer. Fing' ridiculous how she docks you points for missing more then 6 sessions. Miss more then 6 sessions and you loose 1% off your total grade...do not recommend to anybody. Material is standard...
Mrs. Curtis is wonderful! You must attend class and do your homework, which is time consuming, but well worth it. You get a lot of extra credit for doing your homework. The study guides she hands out are very helpful and you can copy down the problems on your CHEAT SHEET that you can use on the tests! I highly recommend her and this class.
Instructor Curtis changed my outlook on this subject. She took the time to make sure everyone understood the lesson before moving on. But you have to do your part too. Study, do the work, take good notes most importantly listen to her! She's an amazing teacher and if you follow those steps you'll easily pass with an A.
mrs. curtis is very helpfull, the class is hard, but if you do all the h.w she adds 10% to ur test score, at the end it really helps. she always tries to help her students, you just have to want it!!!!
i suck at math and i failed her class but thats because id rather snowboard then go to class shes really helpful funny i hate math but she really made me interested never saw it coming... so she gets 5 stars!
Such an awesome teacher! 10% Extra credit + a cheat sheet. IT doesnt get any easier than that... As long as you do the hw, come to class, all is swell. Her personality makes the classroom a more welcoming place to be, she's cool.
She is an excellent teacher and her class could not get any easier. You get an extra 10% on every test if you do all the homework for that chapter. That really helped me get an A in that class and ive never gotten anything above a C- in any other math class.
i just took her for the summer course. i got an A for her class, there was homework everyday since we cover 1 chapter within 2 days. i recommend that you write everything from the chapter review onto your notes because it is very similar and helpful.plus she add 10% onto your chapter test if you do your homework which is like a whole letter grade.
Professor Curtis made this course easy, concise, and fun. Definitely an easy A.
She takes 10% of your grade for being late and missing even if you are 1 min late. She doesn't explain things well and expects you to do 200+ math problems a week. It's stressful if you're full time. Her class ruined my 3.8 gpa. I took the placement test so I could take stats and got a B+. At least Math 103 doesn't transfer. STAY AWAY!
I really like Professor Curtis. I've always been seriously awful at math, and had to retake two math classes in high school. But she makes it super clear and explains things over and over in many different ways until the whole class understands. She gives A LOT of homework, but offers a 10% bump on all tests if you complete it all. She's great.
Very easy teacher. 4tests study guides given, study from study guides very identical to tests, hw optional 10% ec. It's not mandatory to attend class but helpful if you do. No book needed. You can use library book for hw assignments, then again hw is not mandatory.
she gives you the info to get a good grade, tests hard but she gives you 10% extra for complete homework, plus cheat sheet for tests
Statistics is no easy class, but she makes a great effort to help every student through the quagmire of it. She also provides cheat sheets to use on exams and the final is completely open book.
This class was a little fast pace for me. Be prepared to take notes and to write FAST! But she is very helpful, & wants everyone to get a good grade.
Stay on top of your homework, those homework points really help you with your grade on exams and watch out for her quizzes (that is where I lost a lot of points that could have helped me get an A in her class). Overall, she teaches you in a way that it all makes complete sense. Loved this class, even for a 7:00am class!
I failed the first test and wanted to quit the class, glad I didn't because I ended up passing with a B. You'll do fine on tests if you keep up with assignments. You can look through notes for the quizzes. If you ask for help she'll explain to you until you get it. Great teacher!
She's by far the most amazing super awesome math teacher that you'll ever get! She's very detailed with her examples and work. She's very calm and always happy. If I had the chance to take her class again I'd love to! I failed this class due to family emergencies. She's awesome!
This teachers is very easy. I don't know how much I really learned but got an A.
Dr.Curtis is a good teacher. The only thing that i didn't like was that she would go off subject on how better he other class was doing;I felt time should be used to answer questions students might have had. Otherwise she is very good at her job. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help. She gives a lot of chances for you to pass the class.
Good instructor!
Seriously, if you didn't pass its because your an idiot, she's not there to hold your hand and wipe your nose, this is college. She's great, took all the time, explained everything. Her office was always open. Best professor ever. if you study you will pass, if you don't study, you will fail..remember, this is college.
I got an A but it was difficult. I took her night class and she goes off subject a lot. I wish she would have lectured instead. Her lectures are not based off of the book which is confusing at times. No multiple choice so you can't wing it. Would recommend another instructor if you are juggling a full time job with school.
After taking 20 years off from math, taking Mrs. Curtis for Stats was a very pleasant experience. She explains things in class, answers the most requested homework questions, teaches you how to use a calculator to calculate formulas, allows a note sheet with each test. There is a reasonable amount of homework, basically an assignment each night.
Took her 4 weeks Summer class back in 2001. Her test were multiple choice, but still gave credit if you show work for a missed problem. You can use all your notes on the Finals and adds 10% extra credit with homework to every test. Her class was easier then Algebra 2. Very good Teacher, you will learn a thing or two about Statistic.
If you are a full time student I wouldn't recommend her reason being you have over 100 math problems every week it takes alot of ur time. In the plus side you get extra 10% on your test if you complete all the homework. She is nice but supper hard grader on test you wont give you partial credit. If you dont do the homework you wont pass.
Expect ALOT of homework every day. Every week is about 100 problems. She's nice but you have to put in a lot of time, studying to pass the class. she give you 10% on the test if you complete the homework. i would highly recommend her if your not a full time student and have a job.
She is an amazing teacher, I unfortunatley slacked off because it was my first semester, & missed a lot of class as the semester progressed. Her lectures were quite long but they were very informative. She does an amazing job if you do not understand something she will be more than happy to explain it in multiple ways to be sure you understand 100%
This is the professor at Fresno City College to take Statistics from. A lot of people said that and it was true. She makes it not be an overwhelming convoluted thing like some others cando. She even gives and extra 10 points (10%) on exams if you have done the homework!! There is also a certain amount of notes that can be used with the exams!
She's a great teacher. Homework is fairly easy, but she assigns a lot of hw problems. Homework and test schedules are all on the syllabus, so no excuses. She makes funny jokes as well. She's very approachable and is there for you. She gives a chapter review packet for the next chapter after every test. Sometimes tests are not so easy.
She gives 10 tests a semester, some within a week of the previous exam. She also takes attendance before and after class as if we were school children. Anxious to see how you did on your exam? She doesn't hand them back until the end of the 2 hour lecture. Curtis also gives lectures on the next chapter before you've even taken your current exam.
She is the worst professor I've ever had. Gives so much homework. And if you don't bring your book one time she will drop you.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Curtis, gives way too much homework for one student to keep up with. She does not give you enough time to actually know the material you'll be quizzed on. shell lecture one day, then the following class you'll have a test. Make sure you do all the homework it adds 10% to your test.
Great teacher
She's an excellent teacher, she cares about the students for any question you need you can find her in her office. The textbook is a MUST all homework is on the book. She gives popup quizzes here and there but is used as extra credit. Homework is 10pts given for test you take. She explains very clearly and makes sure you understand before proceding
Okay, I hate math with a passion, I took stats in high school for AP, so when I took this class I understood the lessons before she taught them. But even if you have not taken it before I recommend dr. Curtis, her lessons are easy if you show up and take notes,DO THE HOMEWORK THE DAY YOU GET IT, or it's going be be hard to catch up and it's a lot.
Ok, tough class, but a great teacher, skip class you'll be lost forever, she does anything she can to help you, but you need to do everything in the class and ask for help, don't be shy I was at her office almost every day. Homework is a lot, I'm talking around 100 or more problems, but if you do it all it adds up to 10% extra credit on every test.
She is an awesome instructor! She's approachable and always willing to help you out! Is super friendly and actually cares about her students. Workwise, just show up to class, actually pay attention, take good notes and you will pass. There's a test after every chapter. overall an Excellent instructor!
GREAT PROFESSOR! HOMEWORK AND STUDY GUIDE REFLECT WHAT IS ON THE TEST. GO TO CLASS AND DO WHAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DO AS A COLLEGE STUDENT AND YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM. NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS GIVEN TO YOU! YOU MUST EARN IT!
She doesn't even grade and return the homework before you take the test. So then you end up taking the test and getting a bunch wrong because you don't know if you are even doing it correctly or not. Ridiculous
Awesome teacher. She breaks down how to do everything Barney style. You have to attend the lectures but she gives you the short version of how to do things so it's way easier than trying to read. The reviews for each test prepare you to get an A. Extra credit is given for doing all the homework for a chapter. Best math teacher I've ever had.
One of the best math teachers I've had. Teaches straight to the point and breaks it down easily. Attendance is a must, you miss one day, and don't understand a section, the next sections will be confusing. So much extra credit, you get 10 points for each test by just doing the HW. Got over a 100 percent in the class & didn't have to take the final.
I took the hybrid class and she was easily accessible for questions via email. Very clear communicator and helpful. If you ever needed help in any area she would make herself available. Great teacher who cares about her students. Don't procrastinate - do the work, it can be a lot if you stay on top of it. I wouldn't call it an easy class.
Dr. Curtis is the best! She teaches step by step like you're in HS. She assigns a lot of homework, but if you do all your hw, she gives you a 10% boost on exams! Her ch. reviews are exactly like the exams, just with different Q's and A's. She makes everything easy, BUT you have to work for your A. Do your HW & attend class! You will pass.
she did a lot of lectures and tests. but she gives cheat sheets where you could literally fill up the paper with whatever you wanted. some people even wrote down the questions to the hw onto the cheat sheet because the examples are nearly the same. missing one day is like missing a month's work because you can and most likely will fall behind. $
I would definitely take this class again! She is an excellent professor!
She does not make an effort to help out students who are trying to add her class. Simply does not care. She couldnt comprehend that students only have one student email.
Answers questions clearly. Does not use my math lab!! She gives homework from the book. Gives 10% extra on tests if you do all the homework for that chapter. Answers questions on homework then starts new section. Gives a review before each test which is very similar to test.
Terrible professor that I wouldn't recommend to any of my friends
she didn't exactly help on problems with the class , she just kept threatening to drop if you didn't do the work to her speed even though she gave 2 weeks to finish the section
Lots of homework because it is a math class. Helpful in office hours and ETC was my lifeline. Don't miss too much class because it's where you learn how to do the work. Tests every other week, do the hw you get a 10% boost and she drops the lowest score at the end of semester. Ask for help and you'll pass the class -coming from a non math person.
She is super kind and is really helpful. She explains clearly and makes sure to review before test. The review guides are pretty similar to the test, which there are a lot of. Its defiantly fast paced, test are usually 2 weeks apart and homework is due before test so its really important to stay on top of assignments.
Theres lots of homework. Way to many problems for the assignments she assigns. Must show up in order to understand the lessons. She also tends to go on tangents about problems and they take way longer than they should. Tests can be pretty difficult as they are often a little different than the study guide.
Dr. Curtis is an amazing professor. Im not the biggest fan of math, but she truly made it fun and easy. Her exams are literally the study guide (obviously different numbers). She also offers 10% extra credit on each exam if you do all the hw. This basically means that if you get an 80% on an exam and you did all the hw, you now will receive a 90%!
This is the teacher you want for stats, trust me! Doing all the homework adds to your test grade. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Clear lectures, exceptionally fair grading. I struggled hard with stats the first time with another teacher and had to retake it. I worked hard but got 100% in the class.
Had this class last spring semester during the transition from in class to online. I prefer this class to be easier online than in class. She post lectures that are available to students during their own time. Zoom class was not required. The homework is very time consuming, so don't wait last minute to do the assignments the day before it's due.
One time i had wrote out my problem and the correct answer but forgot to put the whole answer in the underline space and she marked it wrong. She takes attendance each week by completing a homework assignment. I forgot one week and she dropped me. Later I found out she emailed me prior and asked me if the work was too hard to complete. Shes awful.
Just horrible. Gives no time for students in other classes to do their work because homework is constantly a lot. I can say her lecture videos are okay, she just doesnt have well timing. Not really any zooms either, making the class asynchronous. Its hard when its all online so zooms would really help at this point. Wouldnt sign up for her.
She does not teach half of what is on her tests. You will feel confident in taking a tests, and then you look at half the problems and you have never seen anything close to the problem in your homework/lectures.
I took her online class last semester, but it wasn't a great experience. Her lectures are okay, albeit a bit long, but anytime I had questions she was very dismissive. Communication from her wasn't great. Taking tests required us to be watched, and the program used was very invasive and unreliable. I wouldn't recommend.
Still in class but so far, no good, literally cannot pass my quiz and test she gives us. Literally has us download google chrome, install Honorlock which u have to record your screen, and to record yourself doing the test which makes you uneasy to take. And ur room, would not recommend takin ever, this professor was my last choice and i regret it.
This professor is very good! Offers a lot of help everyday Mondays-Friday 10 am - 10:50 am. Professor Curtis offers a lot of help including a rewarded effort for doing your homework! I would definitely recommend this professor if you are struggling in Math11, I myself am not too well with math but Professor Curtis helps make it easier on you.
Dr. Curtis is very kind. Yeah, math is tough and it isn't easy, but she was always so helpful when attending her zoom office hour. She takes on one student at a time so you have her 100% focus when needing help. She was also really encouraging when I was struggling.
She is a professor that obviously knows her craft. However, her teaching style is a little old school and very fast paced. She's not bad but if Math isn't your strength, i would look for another professor, or just take her class itself a semester. Got 2 have webcam on during test. she drops lowest score, excluding the final. Go to ETC if u can!
I absolutely love Professor Curtis. Such a kind lady who loves math and loves teaching it. Offers extra credit added onto exams if you do your homework. Always happy to help, and is easy to get ahold of. Gives you study guides, practice tests, and you can use notes on test. If you struggle with math I highly recommend her.
Idk y her rating is so low, she is amazing. For every test, you get a printer paper (front and back). She gives out study guides that are the same as the test, just with different numbers. If you get 70% on each assignment for the unit, you get an extra 10% on your test. I had a 104% at the end and didn't have to take the final to finish with an A.
Professor Curtis is a knowledgeable teacher, but her teaching style can be fast-paced and challenging. Attending lectures and using resources like unstuck ai for study prep are key to success in her class. Be prepared to put in the effort, and you can do well.
There was an exam for every unit. I liked this b/c I learned the material in a week & had a test on it the same/next week. There was also hw for every unit and if you earned 70% on the hw you would gain an extra 10% on the tests. Weekly tests were mostly MCQ. 1 page of notes was allowed. She is also very understanding if you communicate with her.
Awful experience, not understanding and she responds to emails very passively aggressive. Didn't feel a comfortable motivating learning experience from her.
This teacher was sooo easy. Honestly if you failed it's a reflection on you. She literally posted lecture videos on CANVAS so that if you didn't get the lesson learned in class you can go home and watch videos!! She also gave extra credit on HW and applied to test so my tests I would get like a 110% bc the stuff we learned was sooo easy too!
Dr.Curtis is a really good professor. Exams are every other week to make sure you're actually understanding the material. She also offers an extra 10% on all exams, as long as you get a 70% or higher on homework. Random extra credit. Drops your lowest exam score. Put in effort and you're set, she's super easy to pass! Skipped my final & got an A+.
She allows hand written cheat sheets for exams and she gave us copies of what each exams would look like. Honestly it was very easy class since she was very clear. Gives extra credits for students that do homework so honestly it's not hard to pass her class. Had over 100% all semester and was able to get 90%+ for all my exams. Take her class !!
1000% take this class. If you do the homework every week she adds an extra 10% to every test. For chapter 9 she replaced our lowest grade with what we got, and also dropped our lowest test score at the end of semester. You can tell she is a passionate teacher I'm surprised she doesn't have a 5/5. A very soft spoken teacher, but try not to be late
Most chapters are easy, some are hard. On every test you can use a sheet of notes and you always get a practice test which helps. Homework is optional but it's extra credit on your test if you complete it. Pretty easy just don't procrastinate
