Had Carol as a TA and lecturer, amazing woman. Super nice and fair grading. Be nice to her and she will help you out with whatever you need. Calculus is still hard, but she makes it more bearable, ask her to tell you some jokes.

Carol is the greatest! Her lectures go with the homework, and if you understand the homework; you will do great on her exams. She hates when people skip class though, so never miss class without telling her if you want to stay on her good side. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities and is a very fair grader. She's also subtly hilarious.

Such a good teacher! I was really glad I had her section. Very clear with teaching the material, even the tougher concepts, and she genuinely cared about the students.

From my understanding, Demas was the coordinator/grader for this online class, while Dr. Christodouloupoulou did the lecture videos. Regardless, the class isn't difficult, as long as you keep up with the workload. There are discussion boards on Canvas to post questions, and either prof replies very quickly. Both also offer in-person office hours.

When everyone said Calc 2 was impossible even with an amazing prof such as Chui I decided to take it online so I could go slowly and watch lectures 30x to understand stuff. Demas holds online office hours twice a week and thoroughly explains ANYTHING you ask her, and you can send questions the night before!! 2+ tries on every assignment and quiz

She is a great professor, and you can tell she really cares about her students. Her lectures are very easy to follow and understand. She assigns quite a bit of homework, but it's worthwhile. Overall if you attend class and do the HW you'll do fine.

Professor Demas was extremely essential to my success in calc 3, she was always available and would respond to any question I had at any time. She gave extra credit that bumped many people up by 2-grade letters and the course was very clearly outlined. Be sure to post on the wall with any questions way before the deadline.

Ms. Demas is an amazing choice for MAC2313. Her zoom lectures this past semester would often go over, but she is willing to give extra time to ensure her student get some extra practice with warm-up questions at the end of each lecture. There are enough extra credit opportunities and review sessions to be able to succeed while putting in the work.

Carol is your best bet for MAP2302. There's never any surprises as to what will be on a quiz/test and she makes sure you know any type of question that could show up. She definitely knows what she's doing, and if you get her you'll be set. She's also considerate and pretty funny, which made her lectures enjoyable.

Professor Demas was such a sincere professor who really cared about her students. She taught the material in a clear manner and her lectures were entertaining. She assigns a lot of work, but if you do the work, it really shows in your final grade. The exams are very straightforward if you do the assignments.

Professor Demas was very helpful and always willing to answer questions. During lecture if anyone had questions or was confused she would never hesitate to take a second and explain. The discussion board was also open for student questions with quick replies on problems. She held NUMEROUS review sessions before exams during her OH. Really caring.

Ms. Demas is a great lecturer. Some lecturers this semester had troubles with going over class time in Zoom lectures, and Demas' were by far the most succinct. At the end of every lecture, she worked out two warm-up questions that are very similar to exam questions. Almost a full letter grade of extra credit available, but you have to work for it.

Professor Demas was SUCH a great professor for Calc 3. Her lectures are a little fast paced but she always recorded them and posted them so we had access to them later. She was very responsive to questions asked and she was super nice and helpful if you tried in the class. I highly recommend her for calc 3

For diffyq, Demas is the bomb and has a great class structure. Lectures are clear, easy to follow, and she is just a cool person overall. Highly recommended.

I had Demas for calc 3 and diff eq. I really enjoyed having her for both classes. Calc 3 is pretty standardized so it probably doesn't really matter who you have for that class. Diff eq isn't as standardized, her lectures were easy to understand and her homework was easy as long as you had your notes to refer to. Exams were always straightforward.

She gives exactly what she expects from you. you just have to watch the lectures and understand the LQs and the exam will be fine. The study guide is usually very similar to the exam so makes it easy to prepare.

She's an angel. She's funny and knew exactly how to teach the class in a way that kept up interested (which is hard for diff eq). Take her if you can

Had Demas for Calc 2, Calc 3, and Differential Equations. Always extremely clear, professional, and constantly communicating with students. Although she might come off as intimidating, she is very accommodating and always willing to help. Very knowledgeable professor and always tries to make lectures interesting with cool facts. Awesome prof!

By far one of the best lecturers I have had at UF. Its one of those where you either love her or hate her because her lectures are quite fast paced and she has a... particular sense of humor. But she cares deeply for students, no textbook, homework format lets you practice/study while getting a good grade. Exams are what you would expect.

I've had Demas for Calc 3 and Diff Eq. She's a really caring professor and wants all of her students to succeed. She has a monotone voice sometimes but that's because she does 4 lectures in a row for the same class. She makes the exams and lets you know exactly what to expect. If you watch lectures and do the HW you will get an A.

Overall, the material was fairly easy but she taught and explained it very well. She really wants her students to succeed and gave many hints on what was on the exams. The homework can get a bit annoying as there is a lot of computation involved. Would definitely recommend.

Professor Demas is great and explains her lectures well, although my professor was Rudyak, I didn't go to his lectures and only watched Demas's lectures. That being said, this was one of the easiest math classes I have taken at UF. There is alot of homework, but it really prepares you well for the exams.

Demas is THE BEST calc prof ever. She really knows what she's doing and provides clear lectures with a lecture note guide too. She's super responsive to questions too. Lots of HW but it helps you keep up with everything. Tests are very fair and she explains everything so well. You can tell she really cares for her students.

We need more STEM girl bosses in teaching positions at UF because she is the perfect representation of one. She is a harsh professor but she helps her students a lot. She is lenient sometimes and is super understanding during emergencies. She is also so funny and is passionate about the subject she is teaching.

Dr. Demas was an amazing professor. She could be easily reached outside of class for any questions and help. The exams were generally fair as long as you had studied the content and gone to the lectures. She sometimes got a little bit snappy about some subject. I definitely recommend her for Diff. eq.!

One time someone told me that they thought that Dr. Demas was "kind of evil" but I adored her this semester. I watched her online lectures for 90% of the semester even though I didn't have her as my professor. I thought that she was hilarious and really doubled down on topics and equations that were really important. Would highly recommend!

I thought Demas was really funny and enjoyed her lectures. The grading is pretty tough and exams are pretty much raw scores or 1 free question. Homework is all on canvas and usually multiple choice. Use homework as practice for exams and you will be fine.

Loved her class! She's passive-aggressive but makes up for it cause she's a good lecturer and loves to talk about her dogs. HW is not super hard, there's extra credit and easy quizzes. Stick to the LECTURE NOTES to study for exams and use past exams to practice; you should be set to do very well on the exams. Very accessible outside of class.

Carol Demas is easily one of the best lecturers in the math department. People will come on here and complain that she's "mean" but it's completely untrue, she just doesn't spoonfeed you answers. Her lectures are amazing and always convey the material clearly. If you truly put in effort, this class should be a straightforward.

You will not get a better math professor at UF! Professor Demas is a wonderful lecturer and she provides so many resources. The lecture notes are great and the past exams prepare you for exams. She is seriously the nicest professor you will meet and I enjoyed her sense of humor.

Professor Demas was an amazing lecturer for elementary differential equations. She always took care to prove every formula and process that she was using, and the guided notes she used were clear and easy to follow along. Though she takes a strict no-nonsense attitude towards the course, she still finds a place for humor in her lectures as well.

The class was well-structured and organized and was very exam-heavy like any other math course. Professor Demas does a great job explaining the lessons and her lectures are helpful. She also usually sets aside two days before the exams for review, and these reviews clear up a lot of questions. You will probably end up with an A or A-

Some may view her tone as condescending, but her inflections are purposely informative and with good-intention. During review sessions, she may interject people's questions to save time and teach at a good pace

LOVED HER! She's definitely only for certain audiences though... the way she taught was perfect for me and I enjoy her jokes and enthusiasm for what she is teaching (although i guess her voice is technically monotone it works for me). Easy A if you do the practice exams and all homework assignments

I though she was a very good lecturer. She was very easy to follow even though there is a lot of information to learn in diff eq. The workload was not bad just the usual math class homework of about 15 questions. Attendance is not mandatory and all the lectures are posted online or you can join on zoom.

Demas is great, funny, and witty. Homeworks take a while! Do them (MC with unlimited attempts) and you'll be prepared for exams, which were chill but the final was hard. Attendance is not mandatory and most people (me) watched recorded lectures. Gave 2% of extra credit assignments and the grading scheme is fair.

Demas was a very good lecturer, and made this class pretty easy to digest if you just attend lecture either in person, on zoom, or at your own time on the recorded lecture. Exams were just like the practice exams, some of the homeworks were time consuming, but you have unlimited attempts. You also get 2% extra credit. Easy 3 credit overall

Great professor. She is very passionate about math. I am glad I took her. Her class structure is easy to follow. She makes witty comments which are very funny. Exams are fair and similar to previous exams. The extra credit at the end is nice. I am glad I took her. Learned a lot with her.

Dr. Demas was an interesting, but great, professor. I found the material super interesting. I ended with a 99% and found that it was very doable as long as you do ALL the materials. She was also SUPER generous with the amount of extra credit she gave and that most of the online assignments had multiple attempts

I love this woman so much. Its a shame that she teaches so few classes. The homework she assigns helps you prepare for her exams, which are very fair. She puts many study resources on her canvas, she records her lectures, is very helpful when answering questions and she has a silly sense of humor. If you have the chance to take her, don't miss it!

Great lectures and course format. Four exams, homework and quiz for each lecture, and lots of extra credit/grace on exams. Professor Demas' humor made lectures entertaining and she's excellent at breaking down really complicated math into steps that make sense. Definitely a class you can succeed in if you put in the effort.

Excellent professor. She teaches the material in an easy-to-understand way as long as you also put in an equal amount of effort in your own time. All the classes are recorded so you technically don't have to attend. She is also not dry and can be funny sometimes. Her lectures do have to rush sometimes but that's not her fault (lots of content)

I loved this class. She was an awesome lecturer. If you do and understand the homeworks, you'll probably do fine on the exams (the homework problems were harder than the exams). She also gave practice exams. Lectures are recorded. Very fair in terms of due dates and she gave extra credit that she explained how to do at the end of the semester.

Love this woman, actually had her for my humanities quest course and developed a great relationship with her. Very passionate and had a dry, sarcastic sense of humor which I enjoyed. The class was a great freshman quest course with few assignments, easy exams/final paper, and options for extra credit.

I can't be explicit or my rating will be removed, but this lady is a bad***. She is absolutely hilarious and I find her humor to be underappreciated. As an instructor she is very clear and tells you exactly what you need to do to succeed. She is also very knowledgeable of the history of the things she's teaching you. A very well rounded instructor.

She can be a little weird at times (especially when fantasizing over Euler) but over a good lecturer who explains quite well and gives us plenty of practice. Don't get behind or you're cooked

Have never been met such a great professor, humorous, smart, caring, kind. She always wants students to actually learn stuff, instead of being a tough teacher. I supper love her lecture, super clear! She's just like a caring mom of all of us honestly.

She has a good sense of humor which makes otherwise boring content not so bad. All exams are out of 105% and you get 5% extra credit for doing practice exams. There's a lot of homework, but if you actually do it all and understand it you'll probably get an A.

Demas is on of the best professors I've had at UF. She's such an understanding woman, if you go to office hours after an exam she will give you some points back and gives extra credit for doing practice exams. Lectures were so engaging and she's hilarious!! If you can TAKE HER SECTION!

Definitely the best diff eq professor that UF has, try to get into her section if you can but if not all her lectures are posted on canvas and better than the other professor's lectures. She's also pretty funny which makes the lectures easier to pay attention to.

Best prof you can take at UF for DiffEq Clear explanations, Hilarious deadpan humor, gives lots of examples, open to questions/feedback. Lots of homework to do, but if you do it, you'll be prepared for the exams. If not, the exams will be hard. Put in the time, because no other prof will be easier.

Dr. Demas is passionate about what she teaches and just hopes you leave with an appreciation for art. The class is easy—4 discussion posts, a presentation (no need to present), and a 2000-word final essay, graded fairly leniently. I 100% recommend taking her Quest 1 class.

Towards the end the class got a but wonky but if you put in the work and do your practice tests you should be fine.

Demas is the goat. She makes the concepts easy to explain and goes over steps very well, you just have to watch the lectures and I think you'll do well in the class, she even goes over extra examples based on homework problems that people might find difficult. There is a bunch of extra credit, people complaining likely didn't put in the work.

Dr. Demas is clearly extremely passionate about her Quest 1 class on math in Renaissance art. The homework is not strenuous at all, and above all else the course material is extremely interesting, which makes this class one I'd recommend to anyone looking for Quest credit. Show up and engage in discussion with the class and you'll be better off.

Demas is a great teacher, except she probably needs a mic. Just do the work, and if you passes Calc 2, there is no reason not to get an A in this class.

Pretty decent lecturer, you don't have to go to class since she posts all the lecture videos on Canvas. No mandatory participation requirements. The tests are pretty easy, most of the questions are relatively basic but there 3-4 on each exam that's slightly harder. Should be a walk in the park if you are somewhat decent at math.

Demas is a great professor. diffeq isnt that hard imo, but she explained it clearly for those with not much previous background. Theres extra credit, lots of hw, similar to calc 3 amount (shabazz). Hw isnt too hard tho. I made a careless mistake regarding the final (cant say for legal reasons) but she was very understanding which is why I got an A+

In Williamson section, didn't step foot inside that lecture hall after the first day - watched Demas videos and they got me easily through the semester. I had to make up the final exam (it was probably harder than the original) but my 102% gave me plenty of leeway to keep an A. Prob the easiest grading math class at UF.

Professor Demas is extremely passionate about Italian Renaissance art and this passion shines through in her lectures. She loves when students ask questions and her exams are also easy (you have access to the in-class PowerPoints). Anyone who shows up and puts some effort in should get an A. However this class is much more art heavy than math.

Professor Demas' lectures are great, she delivers content in a concise manner and her lecture notes have everything you need. Each lecture has multiple examples for each topic so you are completely prepared for the exams. I appreciated that Demas taught the content so well that I didn't have to do work outside of her class to learn the material.

Definitely take Demas!. Her homeworks are harder than the exams, but they're unlimited attempts and prepare you very well for the exam. During lecture she talks about what to expect on exams. Very interesting lectures. Every exam has had extra credit points, and she gives 2% in extra credit assignments. You'll walk away knowing content very well.

Demas is easily one of my favs. I do a lot of listening to her video lectures, and not only is she hilarious but it makes the difficult topic of Diff Eq so much easier. She is clearly a very caring person and her class was one of my favorites even when I was taking several harder courses along side MAP 2302. Definetly choose her.

Great class to take for your Quest 1. Professor Demas is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the material, and she makes sure it's not too much work for the students and tries to make it a smaller, discussion-based classroom. Not too art-heavy, and the only real work is a 2000 word paper at the end of the class.

Lectures very well, she made the class pretty easy since she taught the material well and was pretty clear with what was going to be on exams. It is a decent amount of work with the lectures and quizzes for them, but if you watch lectures and do assignments you will do well. In one of the lectures I think she said 80% of students get an A or A-.

Professor Demas is a great lecturer and clearly cares about the class and course material. The class is well structured. The exams are difficult but if you do the homework and watch the lectures you should do good.

Demas is perfect. She is wise and witty and radiates passion for this topic. The class was just lectures and discussions every day, but I found them personally entertaining and enlightening. Daily worksheets in-class and a final paper. The workload was light and Demas will make sure your grade is high.

Dr. Demas is a wonderful professor! She explains the material clearly and makes the math as approachable as it can be. She may come off a bit cold at times, but it's really not hard to get on her good side; just don't skip every exam. I cannot recommend her enough. She's the go-to professor for Elementary Differential Equations and for good reason.

Stay on top of the homework, I know it's alot. It is great preparation for the exams. Makes sure to do the past exams. It's very doable to get an A in this class, especially with the extra credit. The final exam was probably the most difficult but I did well on the first 3 so I didn't have to learn too much of the new stuff. Great professor.
