cool teacher, very funny and smart, not hard but not easy

Very nice and good teacher, although sometimes she relapses into her anti-male mode (her ex apparently wasn't to nice to her). Very hot older woman.

Excellent professor! Would recommend her to anyone. I was instructed to take her by a friend (he took her for ENC1101,1102, and SPC) She cares about her students.

This Professor is really cool and down to Earth.

carol was my first professor and by far the best, except for sy grant...she's very clear and helpful, i took her for enc1101 and was totally on track for enc1102!! she genuinely cares about making sure that you understand your mistakes.

I have a really bad case of stage fright but she helped me through it. I have gained confidence in giving speeches and learned alot. She is an excellent teacher. I give her an A.

I took her for both of my English classes, and next semester I'll take her for speech. By far the best professor I've ever had. If you don't take her you're doing yourself an injustice.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She is a great professor! She is able to relate to you but still guide you in the right direction. Very intelligent and down to earth. Loves to talk about today's issue's and relate it to the learning. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Carol Grimes, what a doll. She is willing to help you bring up your grade. I was struggling and then Carol told me to go to the speech competion and interview some people. Let's just say I recieved an "A" out of that class. Love ya Carol. You are an inspiration to all of your students.God Bless

I had her for speech. She was super nice and very funny. Got an A. You have to do some work tho for and A and I hope that you don't mind giving several speeches.

Do what she says and you'll do great. Don't plan on missing class, esp. if you are due to give a speech unless you tell her ahead of time. She expects you to follow directions, if you do you'll get a good grade. About 6 Speeches, and 2 Critiques, can miss 4 classes before a grade penatly.

She is awesome... she is very helpful!!! All you have to do is ask. I got an A with no problems at all. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

Fantastic Teacher. Great sense of humor too. Don't take her if you don't feel like doing all the work. Grades are dependant on doing all speeches.

She is awesome. I took her for both 1101 and 1102. If you don't get it the first time, she will let you do it again. It was such an easy A. But you actually learned. She has a great personality took. Makes things comical.

Professor Grimes is very helpful and clear about what she expects for your speeches. She is a fair grader. However, she does pile up alot of speeches at one time and it is sometimes hard to figure out what is going on. That's the only downside though. The class really is excellent!

She is definitely one of my favorite professors. Her class is not what I'd call easy, but how easy a class is does nto make it good. I have learned so much and I have enjoyed every minute of it. She is what other professors should look up to as a role model. However, don't take her class if you won't do the work!!

Prof. Grimes is a fantastic teacher...I hate giving speeches and she was so helpful and supportive and was willing to help me in any way possible!! She will not baby you but she will help you succeed!! I loved this class she is fantastic!! Never a dull moment and always learned something in class!! Anyone who says she isnt a great teacher is crazy!

I found this class to be extrememly intense. She has a full load especially at the beginning of the semester. It lightens up toward the end. She has helped my professional writing quite a bit. She is mostly interesting even though some of the classes we don't accomplish anything. I probably wouldn't have taken anybody else if I already knew her.

Wonderful teacher. She understands that not everyone can get up in front of a group of people and actually sound intelligent. She takes your ability into account with every speech. Most important tool for her class...energy. Have lots of it and you will have fun.

Mrs. Grimes seems to have a hard time keeping track of work you have done and logging in the grade book. Tends to have favorites: if you taking her, make sure you're one of them.

prof grimes is a little wacky and she can be really funny. the whole fast food thing gets old after the first two months but if you are a decent writer you should have no problem getting an a on all your papers. i would recommend her.

shes not a bad teacher...just not a great one. she has a great sense of humor and is a very easy grader. but the topic she chose for the whole semester got really old after the first month.

She was very enthused I guess you could say. Her main deal is too make every one pass. We used the book once for a group project in the 16 week course. The rest was speeches. Very easy to pass because make up work does not bring your grade down you just have to do it.

Mrs. Grimes is a teacher all about business, if you're into enrolling in a class for a free ride take her and she'll teach you how to get involved. Don't fear her she's only trying to help you out and believe me it will work in the long run. I liked her and will miss her class.

I don't like public speaking but she made the class enviroment to be very friendly. she is funny and has a good sense of humor. great teacher! if you don't like speech take her she makes it fun!

Great teacher. Lots of speeches but they are the only work in the class. As long as you don't get behind, show up to class and follow directions she's great. Got an A in the class with no problem.

Follow the directions from the class packet and you cannot go wrong. Even if your speech is imperfect: as long as you know your material and follow the outline you will do great. Great Professor, willing to work with you and gives plenty of moral support. A must for a class as unnerving as speech!

I love Pro. Grimes. She's extremely hilarious in class. She is very helpful and willing to help if you don't understand. We rarely used the textbook and just used it on one occasion. I recommend this teacher if you need to take Speech.

I thought I was going to either drop out of the course, or get a D or C. However, it was Prof. Grimes' enthusiasm & encouragement that made me want to stay in her class. Before this class I was not able to gather such courage and speak in front of people but now I can and got a B, not bad! She's really funny too

GREAT speech teacher! Extremely enthusiastic which makes every class fun. Let's face it not to many of us like speaking in front of an audience yet this class is very interesting and fun.

Professor Grimes is a great speech teacher. If you listen to what she tells you and do what she says to do, there's no way you won't do well. You must do all of the work or you won't be able to move forward but it is not hard.

Prof. Grimes is great. She lets you choose your topic to speak on and if you need assitance she'll be very helpful. Plus you only use the book one time. Do everything she teaches and you'll do fine. She makes the class fun.

Professor Grimes is a great professor! She is so encouraging and helpful the whole semester. She really wants each student to succeed, but if you don't put forth effort it is your own fault because she goes above and beyond to explain the guidelines to each and every speaker. I LOVE HER!!

AWESOME! her class is fun. I actually liked going to class! I hated missing a day from her! she is awesome. You can either do a speech or not. She doesn't care about an out line so when you do a speech you just do it and you don't have to turn anything in! She's fun i really encourage people to take her class!

Good teacher. She throws in funny little speeches between the big boring ones to keep us entertained. She's an easy grader. As long as you follow the outline she gives you for every speech you should get an A. If you are nervous and you nervousness ruins your speech she will most likely give you an A- just for effort

Prof. Grimes is WONDERFUL! I've had her for ENC and SPC and she is a great teacher. A little tough at times, but brings out the best in you. Must attend class and do all assignments... Also, doesn't hurt that she's pretty hot! =)

Ms. Grimes is a wonderful teacher and has an excellent sense of humor. Encourages group work (peer critiquing) and interesting break down of fundamental punctuation, sentence fragments that will set your literature apart from other scholars.

Ms. Grimes is an awesome professor. she will help you with anything on your speeches. she makes it very easy to speack in front of the class, she doesnt make anyone feel uncomfortable. her speeches are very clear on what she wants. easy on grading and unstands people being nervous. loved the class even though i dont like public speaking!

Excellent professor. Knows how to convey her message and does not let students walk all over her which I respect. If you can take her for both ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 DO IT! Going from a great teacher like professor Grimes in 1101 to a horrible teacher in 1102 will ruin your love for writing.

Show up, put a little effort into your work and you'll pass. Don't buy the book. Everything you need from the book is online. I see commits about how rude she is, frankly if you pay to go to class, then don't show up, your wasting her time! I found her very reasonable. Frankly for the serious student this is an easy A professor.

Grimes is definitely a taker. When it comes to doing work and determining grades, she's very fair. Always answers questions about the prompts as well as why you got the grade you got & writes notes on your work. Involves the class so you always understand what she's asking for in papers. We had 3 essays, 2 summaries, and 1 extra credit quiz.

She was a wonderful teacher!! Would recommend this class to anyone who wants to become a stronger writer. Mrs Grimes kept the class interesting and left a lot of room for make up work for students. My favorite teacher would have taken her again if she taught enc1102!!

I loved Professor Grimes! She's interesting, encouraging, and completely willing to help you in any way. She loves what she does and her lessons are never boring. Several essays, three in class essays, a handful of quizzes: all fairly easy and as long as you do your part and put forth the effort, you're guaranteed to pass.

She made the class pretty enjoyable and as long as you put forth effort into all assignments its easy to get an A.

Mrs. Grimes is hilarious and EXTREMELY helpful. Showing your BEST effort, doing the work that she assigns, and working on nervous habits during speeches is a must to obtain A's and B's. Very personable and social class setting. Would definitely take another class with her again if I had to! Warning: DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOUR A SLACKER!!!!!!

She is a great teacher! If you completely bomb an assignment she will review what you did wrong and let you have a second chance. We worked in groups a lot, critiquing our classmates essays. She loves doing what she does. My writing has improved since the beginning of the course. I would def take her if she taught ENC 1102.

Pretty easy class. There were a total of 5-6 essays and 2 of them were timed writes done in class. She tells you exactly what she wants in every essay she assigns and helps you with whatever you need. She's very easy-going and funny. If you're not a slacker, then there's no way you can fail this class. Wonderful teacher.

I thought i would die if i had to give a speech but prof Grimes made it easy. She let us know we will not be perfect when we started. We would have issues and its a matter of getting better. Which i can say the WHOLE class did. She is hilarious and sarcastic. I loved her. Keep doing what ur doing prof Grimes.

I LOVE her! she is a FUN, energetic professor! She definitely helps you overcome your fears of speaking in public. Just follow the rubric when creating your speech and you should get an A. I had an early class, but I was always excited to go to her class! TAKE HER CLASS!!

You need to overcome your anxiety in Public Speaking, and Prof Grimes will help you. I took Business Public Speaking. You will have to do a Partner Intro Speech, Informative, Persuasive, Impromptu and Award and Acceptance Speeches. Seems a lot but you will have the best guidance. The online assignment are due before the Informative Speech. GOODLUCK

Professor Grimes is honestly the best professor I have ever had. I've always been VERY nervous about public speaking, but Ms. Grimes helped me so much overcoming that. She gave clear instructions for each assignment, tips for speaking in both formal and informal settings, and she makes the class fun. You NEED to take her! :)

I had Prof. for SPC-2065 and her class was the firstt Speech for Busie I have evertaken. We used the Communicating at Work book which you will need since it has the access for MH-Connect for class assignments. You must do your online work before you deliver your speeches.I would recommend her, but she is retiring after the fall 2013 semester.

I have really a lot with Professor Grimes. She has helped me overcome many of the obstacles that have kept from getting up in front of people and has her class has helped with introduction to business class where I had to give weekly presentations.
