The best teacher you will ever have in your whole career at binghamton. She is great to work with and makes you feel comfortable. Also, she is very passionate about acting which is good for all you theatre majors. Knows her stuff!
I agree that this teacher will make your semester more fun and less stressful. There is work but its work that you will enjoy doing. Take any class with her. She is more than worth it.
Great teacher. Friendly and always willing to help you out.
This class brightens up any day. Carol is an awesome woman to learn from. She has expectations but she adjusts to the classes needs and has fun with it. Def. rec. any class with her
Carol is a wonderful woman and thea 207 is an awesome class. This class brightened up my entire semester. Def an experience you want, esp with Carol
Carol is an awesome teacher and this class is a really fun class. Seriously, this class is really highly recomended.
Carol is the best! I loved this course and the way that she taught it. Make sure you take one of her classes before you leave. You will regret it if you don't.
She picks her favorites, so watch out! Also in comparsion with other theater profs she sucks. Only good if you want to fulfill your gen eds.
Carol is an awesome professor! She is really passionate about acting. She also did her best to try and make us comfortable in the setting we were in and with what we were doing. She really cared about the class and every student. It is a place to laugh and learn in a very save environment. yea Carol! :)
Carol is an awesome teacher. Its a fun and easy-going environment and I totally looked forward to going to her class twice a week. If you're lucky you'll have good students in the class with you and create great friendships. Best class I'm taking without a doubt
Carol rocks ! ! ! This class was awesome. Our class was real close and we always had fun. It only got boring during some rehearsals. She is good.
Not clear with assignments. Hard grader. Singles people out. Creates alot of awkward situations. Hard to tell when she's not putting on an act. Overally defensive towards acting in fear of having it not be taken seriously. Sometimes its a fun class and other times it terrible. If you take this class make sure you get on her good side.
Absolutely loves her subject with a passion and believes in its ability to help you interpret the world. Grading can be lower than you expect, some good kids end up in the B range, no automatic A's. However, her class is fun, enthusiastic, and worthwhile if you have the ability to take it. It can lighten your day and any schedule's workload.
Probably one of the worst professors I've ever had. Extremely unprofessional in dealing with students she doesn't like. Makes it quite clear to the rest of the class. Terrible teacher, terrible actress, overall fake personality. If you can take this class with anyone else, DO IT!
Carol is both passionate and dedicated about acting; she made class inspiring and fun. If you’re looking for a class to break up the humdrum-ness of regular classes take Carols 207 class. Truly a Great Professor! I would recommend Carol to anyone who doesn’t have a stick shoved up their rear end.
She really cares about her students and helps us all to be the best we can be. Very fun and passionate. The only students who have big problems in the class are the ones who are not willing to work hard enough or who are too defensive to listen!!! Take this one!!!
Da bomb!!!
SOOOOOO FUN!!!! If people don't work, she calls you on it. I like that in a teacher. Do the work and you'll love her too! This is my favorite class EVER.

WOW!!!! She really cares about us as people and I love that!! She's soooo dedicated to our development. No bulls**t!! She calls it as she sees it. Fun and inspiring. Be warned: No easy A's.
Best class in college!!!!
Awesome!!!
So fun!! Hard, but FUN! I love her.
This class could make you a better PERSON. Very fun -- but she'll definitely call you out if you try to get by with no work.
G-d help your immortal soul if you cross paths with this lady.
I learned so much and had such a great time! Definitely not an easy A
This is the best class you will take in college. Make sure you get Carol.
It's true.....ya gotta do the work.
MAD FUN!!! She WILL talk smack bout you if you're trying to get by without doing the work. but I'd say she's fair about it -- an EOP prof. Wake up for this one.
Best professor I've ever had!!! Definitely NOT an easy A but it's so worth it!! Best class ever!
Carol is amazing. Her class can be a lot of fun if you do the work and keep up with everything. Its deffinately not an easy class, but its absolutely worth taking. And always "KNOW THY PLAY"
Carol is amazing. Her class can be a lot of fun if you do the work and keep up with everything. Its deffinately not an easy class, but its absolutely worth taking. And always "KNOW THY PLAY"
She's fun and nice. Probably the best class I've taken at Binghamton. Just wish I took it before my senior year.
Spectacular class. If you have any interest in acting whatsoever, take it. And Carol is amazing - just treat her with respect, do the assignments, show your interest, take risks...you'll do great! Don't BS her! My TA was also very helpful and sweet. Might scare you at first but don't pass this chance up: I met so many amazing people in the class.
A great Professor! The atmosphere in the class depends on students though. She is inspiring, fun and helpful. Most of the time I did not agree with her. But she is respectful. She is scary just in the begining. Don't miss the class, don't be late and read the acting book . I am happy that she was my first thea teacher, hopefully not the last
OMG!!!! She's so passionate and inspiring! I bet she's a amazing actress! I've learned so much already in 3 weeks!!
I'm graduating and I'm not gonna lie: this is totally the best class I have taken in my whole 4 years.
this class is SO MUCH FUN. i met amazing people and had a great time. excellent break from the monotony of typical classes. do the work and really try because carol knows when you're ****ting. DON'T piss her off and don't lie to her because she is MEAN if you cross her. it's not hard to stay on her good side. awesome class, cool prof.
Loved the class. Carol's tough, but she's very fair and so much fun. Just don't expect an easy "A"!!!!!
real friendly environment class, you will come out with 20 more friends, but you better put in the effort cause she isnt an easy grader
One of the best, if not THE best class I took in my 4 years. Graduating tomorrow!!!!
So AWESOME!!! I love this class!!
The most helpful teacher EVER! Seriously -- take this class for yourself.
Easy to understand, fair grader and very helpful! This teacher is excellent, and this class is highly recommended for non-actors and aspiring actors alike! : )
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING shall I say it again? AMAZING. 100% recommend a class with Carol! Go for it!
Best class ever
This class is amazing! I know it sounds corny, but I made such good friends in this class that I will keep in touch with after. Carole wants to provide a supportive environment, and that's exactly what she does. My TA was amazing and if I had any questions I could go to him or Carole. Take it with you want to take a fun class, but work is involved.
Carol is fantastic. She makes the course a lot of fun and she is very helpful. Take this class with her!
Carol is amazing! I didn't know anything about acting when I entered her class. As long as you put in the effort, you'll come out with a good grade and a lot of useful knowledge. She also creates a wonderful friendly environment so you never feel intimidated! Great teacher!!
Most fun class in my 2 years here. This is the class that got me out of bed in the morning.
Great class. I just wish I had taken it when I was a freshman.
Greatest class ever. Warm and caring. Tips for good grade and good experience: Offer to lead warm ups often, become friends with class, start on prompt books early, get coaching sessions with her for your scenes, participate in exercises, be enthusiastic, honestly have fun and take risks. This class can be everything you hope for a class to be.
Don't wait til you're a senior to take this class. Wish I took it way earlier. Carol's great.
She's a great teacher! Just be yourself when you act, take risks she loves that. That's what acting is.
Awesome, awesome, awesome! Carol's awesome. The class is awesome!
Best class in my whole 4 years at Binghamton!
As my first acting class, I was certainly a little skeptical, but I have to say it was FANTASTIC! Carol is an excellent professor, and she increases your interest in the theater too. What I like about it, is that she coaches us and shows us exercises to help. TAKING RISKS IS CRUCIAL! Participation is key! I highly recommend her and the class!
By far my favorite class. We actually have fun.
Best class you will ever take. Ever. At first it seems like a lot of work, but it lightens up. Just do the work, take risks, be open and outgoing, and have a great time. Games are played every class and some days are totally dedicated to game days, and Carol can be the nicest/funniest woman out there. So much love for this class and my classmates.
Carol is an amazing teacher. She makes the class enjoyable and shows that she really cares. If you want a good grade in this class then you must start making an impact in the class from the get-go. Take risks, be a leader and lead the warm-ups in class. This class was one of the reasons why I decided to take a theatre minor.
Great professor! Great class! I just wish I had taken it sooner.
Seriously expected an easy A. This class is not for people who don't like to open up. I didnt want to participate in class discussions because i really knew nothing about theater or have any interest. and thats a big part. its a really small class so you get put on the spot a lot. If it makes you uncomfortable, like me. you will talk feelings.
This is totally my favorite class in my whole 3 12 years here.
If you are foreign like me and not fluent in English, just do not take this course. Because it requires lots of improvising, especially in class games and exercises. On the other hand, class is so entertaining and also best course to learn new things about acting and theater. I do not feel regret but just let you know this course is not easy A.
Totally my funnest class EVER!! Carol's an amazing teacher and you'll end up with so many new friends!
Her class is great. Don't go in thinking that it will be an easy A though. You really need to work hard and participate. She makes it excruciatingly clear on the first day and has no patience for people who are only taking it to get an Aesthetics credit. She gives great critiques and is very lively when teaching her students.
It's so much more than just a class. Take it. Now.
I REALLY enjoyed this class. I really learned a lot too.
Carol is so much fun!! She REALLY cares. I love her!! I made some amazing friends too!
Carol is the best!! She's always engaging students and looking for ways to make class entertaining! She is understanding, and will step in if there is an issue between partners in a scene which is really helpful in a theater class. If you put in work you will do well.
This is probably my favorite class.
THEA was my best class last semester. The most fun.
I LOVE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!
This is totally my favorite class!!!
Carol was a pretty good teacher to me. Even though reading the plays take a toll on you, its fun to act them out with your partner esp with the insight she provides to you! Be open-minded and try new things! Also, keep up with the syllabus!!!! She's pretty stern about that.
Carol is very frustrating, however her class is amazing. I learned A LOT about acting. Don't skip class, participate, read the plays, have a good attitude, do your best. Do all of this, and you will do well in the class in addition to learning a lot.
This is my most favorite class EVER!!!
Not only did I have fun, but taking this class helped me grow as an actor and a person. Hands down, favorite class I've ever taken in my life.
Carol is like that aunt who loves you enough that they wanna see you succeed. She is witty and funny at times. May seem like she is has an ego, but who doesn't? Definitely follow her advice and always try new things!
I feel that Carol is super caring and that her class is amazing and inspirational. I wish I could take another class with her but she only teaches THEA 207. I hope I can TA for her in the future. Absolutely take this class. You'll learn so much about yourself and you'll make a ton of new friends. It's really fun but you have to work hard to do well
I took this class because I'm passionate as an actor, but if you don't do things her way then you aren't going to get a good grade. There is no room for artistic differences or creativity.
You have to go to class all the time but as long as you put in the work and actually rehearse with your partner you will do really well.
Loved the class/people. And she really just wants to help you improve and grow as an actor. If she taught another class I would absolutely take it. Always looked forward to going to class. Also the class really helps you come out of you're comfort zone.
If you want an A for a gen ed, or are anti-social avoid. The class is pretty fun, you play a lot of games and everything is in groups. She is going to make you work, there is A LOT of HW, you read many plays, memorize pages of lines, but no tests. Also you are required to see two school plays. If you do not have time do not take.
Carol is like the disapproving mother I never had. If you are enthusiastic and take her advice seriously, you'll get an A. Also you should do student theater, but that's just a personal recommendation.
I love Carol. I took her class, and then I was a TA for her. Both semesters were extremely enjoyable. Yes, this class requires a lot of outside of class time. It's worth it. If you have any interest in acting, please take this class. She's a wonderful person, and class is a lot of fun. Go to class, do the work, and you will get so much out of it.
This is the BEST. CLASS. EVER!!! I love Carol. She's amazing! Everybody should take this class with her.
OMG!!! I'm a techie and I had FUN acting in Carol's class!! Amazing!
i loved carol!!! she was a great prof & so enthusiastic about helping you grow and get out of your comfort zone. i would recommend for anyone looking for their A gen ed or any theater major. the grading is based off 2 scenes performed with a partner and she rewards effort and participation heavily. volunteer!!!!
This is the best class I took in my whole 4 years here. Carol is awesome! She's very passionate and fun!!
Don't even bother reading the books, she does not care. She picks her favorites and the rest are trash. You are doomed if she doesn't like you off the bat so don't even try. Drop during these two weeks while you can!!!!!!!
Carol was an amazing THEA 207 professor!! I took this course based on a recommendation from my roommate, but I'm glad I did. This was the most fun course I've taken and possibly the best course for the 'A' credit. It's not an easy A, and requires a lot of outside work, but it's fun and rewarding to see all the work you put in come together later on
OMG!!!! My favorite class and my favorite professor!!!! The only class I actually wanted to get up and go to. Carol cares so much and is so fun and funny!!! I followed my dad's advice to take an acting class at college and I'm so glad I did! And I'm so glad Carol was my teacher. I got the best.
I took Carol for THEA 207. I don't understand why she gives "subjective" grades/grading. It's seems extremely unprofessional that she gives grades on class performances without a rubric. Please avoid this class if you're the quiet/introverted type. Giving worse grades based on personality is the most idiotic thing ever. I regret not withdrawing.
I had her for the Spring 2020 semester. She's a really nice professor, however she makes us read about 5-7 play and she gives a quiz on it. The questions were really specific, but I felt like everyone did bad so she dropped it. The class got easier because of the campus shutdown, all we had to do is watch a video, answer some questions, and a final
My favorite class EVER!!! My favorite teacher EVER!! Be sure you take this class with Carol!
