This semester was hard on both her and her students, and she did everything she could to help. She offered so much extra credit and opened assignments back up to take at any point in the semester. We could take tests an unlimited number of times. You can text her with any questions. She's so caring! Her Blackboard did feel a bit scattered though.
Dr. Lorenz is a very caring teacher who just wants the best for everyone. She is very considerate when it comes to tests and does not assign a lot of homework.
In the beginning of the semester I was quite intimidated by prof. Her rap sheet for the theatre industry is insane and I thought she was just gonna have us reading plays all semester, but she didnt. Dont get me wrong, it was a lot of art history, but in most assignments she lets you express your own thoughts. Heavy on writing assignments.
The class itself was a lot of work, but the work was based on personal thoughts more than anything. My biggest issue was that the instructions were not always clear, so I would submit assignments and just hope that it was done correctly. She also really only answers questions through phone calls, which is very direct and helpful but can be awkward.
She was understanding and willing to accept late work, whilst also offering extra credit assignments. She reuses her Blackboard shell from previous semesters so sometimes it can be confusing with different assignments and due dates than the semester you are in, but I appreciate having all the assignments listed out in advance. Overall, great choice
Dr. Lorenz is very caring and wants you to succeed. You can do well if you do the assignments thoughtfully. I enjoyed the class, but I wish we covered more art from female artists or people of color. She is not great with technology, but is willing to learn and is always willing to answer questions.
Dr. Lorenz is very knowledgeable on the topics in the course. The main problem I had was that she was very unorganized when it came to due dates or where assignments were on blackboard. I understand it must be harder doing a fully online class. Other than that, she was a great professor.
Very easy course and she is very nice and gives you a lot of time to complete all the work so that everyone can get a fair chance and be able to get the maximum number of points, resulting in an A, she is very caring and wants everyone to be successful and not struggle
Dr. Lorenz is a very nice person. She cares about her student. I would give her more then 5 stars because she is the only professor who understand my situation and treat me as a person not just as student. She works hard to make sure student understand everything. I have gained so much information about art in this class.
Great professor, gives extra credit, and is flexible with due dates.
Professor Lorenz is a very nice lady. Her efforts to conduct a fully online class were greatly appreciated. She was bale to upload lectures, which really helped us understand what was going on in the class. The only thing that I noticed was her lack of being "tech savy". Often times she made mistakes with uploading stuff online.
Dr. Lorenz is a very caring and nice person. She allows you to express your thoughts in the work you do and doesn't always look for a specific answer. She is happy to help her students if you reach out. The Blackboard page is a bit confusing but other than that it was a great course to take.
Dr. Lorenz is a great professor. I really like how she cares about what you have to say and she wants to hear your opinion. She does tend to get off topic easily but overall a great class.
Dr. Lorenz is a very intense professor and thoroughly enjoys what she is teaching. She will ask for comments and I suggest making comments with her as she elaborates on them and also appreciates the responses. The assignments are not very difficult but are more of busy work kind of assignments. Overall fantastic professor!
I took Dr. Lorenz's class as a night class. She was fair and gave us a choice of taking a break or ending early. It's obvious that she cares about what she's teaching. She is assignment heavy and needs help when it comes to tech, but is a really nice lady. Look at her blackboard for ALL the assignments. There were some she didn't mention in class.
Dr. Lorenz knows what she is talking about. I took it as a night class and it was a good choice. The assignments can be long so it's meant for sophomores or juniors. You don't need the book since she makes sure the one on file in the library is the same version. She will give extra credit and if you are nice and respond in class.
She was a great professor. Her work is not too difficult and as long as you do what she asks you'll get a good grade. She loves extra effort. Would highly recommend taking, and I would definitely take her again.
she is so good and she does an amazing job teaching curriculum.
I loved having Professor Lorenz as my professor. She's very caring, personable, understandable and gives you plenty of extra credit. Her lectures were always very interesting to me. The love and background she has with the arts is so amazing and inspiring. She will also acknowledge you as the adult and human being you are instead of just a student.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about art and humanities and that makes the class a lot more fun. She is very accessible and she is open to listening to your opinion. There are a lot of videos to watch, but that was the most time-consuming part. Overall, good experience with A LOT of extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Lorenz is a very passionate professor, she has a lot of knowledge on the class she teaches which is super awesome. Always giving room for extra credit, and making sure her students understand the material given in class. Overall really good class, one thing I would say I wish she did faster was grading. :)
I loved this class as it was very interesting and an easy A. There is TONS of extra credit and the tests were always online and you could take them as many times as you wanted. Some difficult essays. Deadlines are VERY flexible. This was very helpful. Nice and understanding teacher. Impossible to not pass.
Dr. Lorenz is a very passionate professor, she has a lot of knowledge on the class she teaches. There is always extra credit which is great if you need the grade booster. There are weekly assignments but as long as you take them seriously, you will receive a good grade. Overall, this class was great!!!
Dr. Lorenz has never had me leaving a class bored. She is my last class of the day, and I am always very excited to hear what she has to say. Whether it is about Roccoco art or the 50s tv shows, she knows how to speak to young minds. The way she uses PowerPoints and makes sure that everyone is always paying attention is just one way she stands out.
Most of the work for this class is done outside of the class, with class-time serving as highlights of information Dr. Lorenz wants to talk about. The classes are full of videos (played way too loud) and lots of powerpoints. The class would be better without the constant videos, and more with discussions. Foster group discussions from the start.
Dr. Lorenz is a great professor. She gives you as much time as you need to finish assignments (normally without punishment). She is very passionate about Arts & Humanities, and overall a really sweet professor
Dr. Lorenz was a great Humanities professor. She gave us lots of time to complete all our assignments and plenty of extra credit. She also leaves tests open for a long time and allows us to take it multiple times because she wants us to actually learn while also getting the best grade possible. Very lively and keeps a gen ed class interesting.
Dr. Lorenz is very nice, and doesn't give too much HW, but the HW that is given is very time consuming and just busy work. Her lectures are relatively boring and feel twice as long as they really are.
You really didn't have to pay attention to pass the class. On the test, you were given as many chances as you want and the homework is easy points. She really cares about what she is teaching. If you care about art, you will love this class.
I enjoyed being in Dr. Lorenz's class. I learned a substantial amount about art and honestly, I look forward to doing more of it. She has inspired me to continue learning and doing my own art! She gave great feedback and made it fun even as an online class.
Even if you aren't into art, you'll definitely find something that you like in this class. She uses powerpoints, videos, and a variety of content to keep it interesting. A lot of the homework is just busy work though. She also has a strong personality and usually if your interpretation of something isn't the same as hers, it's wrong.
There isn't a lot of work in this class. Tests are super easy and online with multiple attempts. Only a few papers and small assignments. Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about this subject and knows her stuff. Very nice lady and wants you to pass.
I would recommend she breaks up her lecturing. Maybe lecture for 20 minutes and take a 30 second break for everyone to take in the information. During the break she can answer any questions anyone has and allow discussion about what she just taught. I also would recommend more hands on activities to keep us involved, everyone doesnt learn the sam
Dr. Lorenz is a very good professor and knows what she is talking about when it comes to the arts and you can tell she is passionate. The class contains a lot of lecturing, but the assignments are not difficult and the tests are easy and allow multiple attempts. Her lectures are very detailed and she provides a lot of information to her students.
She is so well-versed in this topic that you don't even need to buy the textbook for her class. The tests allow multiple attempts in a specific time frame (about 7-8 days.) Strongly encouraged to show up every day, unless you have an emergency. Be prepared, she's loud, but that's not specifically a bad thing, as it gets your attention.
Dr. Lorenz was a great professor and probably the most passionate teacher I have ever had. She really enjoys teaching and truly cares about her students grades. She gives as many chances as you want on the exams, which I found to be super helpful and actually had me learning the subject. Gives a lot of extra credit as well. Overall great class.
You can tell Dr. Lorenz is extremely passionate about the subject matter taught in her class. The class is quite lecture heavy with most classes being power points or videos so it would be nice to do something besides that every so often. Also would have been nice if she learned our names instead of pointing at us every class.
Dr. Lorenz was an amazing professor and was extremely passionate about her work. She allows you to take the test multiple times, and also gives a ton of extra credit. If you show up to class, and get your work done you will be able to pass her class. She makes it known she does not want her class to stress you out. I highly recommend taking her!
Dr. Lorenz's class is fairly easy as long as you do all of the assignments given. It will seem like a lot of work but she gives you about a week to complete everything and if you ask for extended time she'll give it. Only advice is do the extra credit, it is super easy and will help your grade a lot if you don't do so well on some things.
Dr. Lorenz is awesome. I never met her in person because of online class but she definitely made sure I had everything i needed. She seemed genuinely interested in her students and provided all the materials we needed and was always checking in.
While the subject matter isn't challenging, and she tends to be lenient, it's a riddle to figure out what she expects of you. Having her as an online prof is confusing as her blackboard shell isnt organized, old assignments are mixed in with new ones, dates arent changed, and multiple places for the same thing. Take her in person or NOT AT ALL.
This instructor seems to be a great prof and seems very nice, however, she is not suited for an online teaching style. Without a structured time for her to meet with her students, her deadlines begin to get very blurry. Her expectations of her students were never quite clear and it became quite the riddle to figure out what to do to pass the course
Dr. Lorenz was an exceptional professor who created a connection with every student. She made sure to get every student involved and cares more about the students learning than the grade she gives. The unlimited attempts at tests helps learning a lot more easily. If you fail this class then you have no hope in the future, you'd have to try to fail.
Dr. Lorenz is a really good professor. She is very knowledgeable about the topics she covers. There are a lot of assignments but if the are easy to do. She gives a lot of bonus to help your grade if you need it.
Very easy class. Not many assignments. She makes it so you can retake tests as many times as necessary and tends to give extensions on assignments to make sure students can get them done. She takes up every second of the class and is very bad with technology, though.
Dr. Lorenz lets you take tests as many times as you want to get your desired grade which is nice. She also does a lot of extra credit assignments which are optional so its hard to not get an A in this class. She is always available if you have any questions. Overall great professor.
Dr. Lorenz did an outstanding job as her passion made it possible for everyone to be engaged at some point. However, she could be less sensitive about people having their phones out, as some people just won't appreciate the arts the way she does. Class was really easy: unlimited tests, easy work, and participation will get you an easy A.
Dr. Lorenz is a great professor with even better intentions. She truly cares about the subject and you will learn a lot. There is weekly assignments, but it never takes up too much time.
she is very nice teacher and try to help students out when needed and also she explains her lessons with alot of detaisl
Professor Lorenz really cares about the content that she teaches. She wants to share her fascination of the humanities with the students and this creates a great classroom atmosphere. There are weekly assignments but they aren't too difficult.
Easy class as long as you show up and complete the work. Extra credit is given out every week. Easy grader with comments on how to make it better. All quizzes and tests are taken online whenever you have time. You can retake the quiz of test until you get the score you want. Best teacher ever, do not take another teacher for humanities.
While Dr. Lorenz was often very spirited, she did care earnestly for the material she was teaching us and if we understood it. Her unit about Van Gogh helped me personally. Her lectures were helpful, as well as her visual aids. My only complaint would be that her personal views interfered with the content occasionally.
She is super friendly and very fair on all assignments. She gives you a week or more to take the tests and assignments till the start of the next chapter. Her attendance is mandatory but she does give 3 personal days. There is no text book needed for her class!
Her lessons were useful and related to students. She cares about her job and is a great instructor.
Dr. Lorenz has a passion for the arts that she does an amazing job of sharing with her students. She gives very good thorough lectures and lots of supplemental information on BlackBoard to help with tests and assignments. Tests are open for several days and she gives many extra credit opportunities. She does a great job of helping students!
Doctor Lorenz is one of the most passionate professors I have had. The classwork is not difficult and easy to comprehend. If you take this course online you get weekly updates via email. The online assignments are fun and you only have to complete one paper which is only two pages long. If I could retake this course I would.
The lecturing could be very tiring and boring. However, the videos picked things up. Add an interactive aspect to each class. I enjoyed this class because you allowed my mind to wander and allowed my emotion to flow on a aggisnment rather than just facts.
Doctor Lorenz was a very caring and genuine teacher for my first semester at college. She was patient, kind, and made every class entertaining. While there is more homework in this class than a usual class, she always has extra credit opportunities and optional assignments. I would take again!
Dr. L cares more about students actually learning than about grades. She is prepared every class and always comes in smiling. She gives homework every other week but none of it is too hard. If you do the assignments, you will pass the class. You are able to retake every test. Great teacher.
Dr.L is a good prof and loves the topics she teaches about. The textbook was not mandatory , which was nice. It is an easy course , just make sure you do the assignment and actually put thought into them.
All and all a good class. Assignments were engaging and enjoyable. Class was not too hard, but was at times difficult to navigate the blackboard shell. Dr. L was easy to reach when anyone had questions, and it was clear that she enjoyed the subjects being taught.
Dr. Lorenz gives plenty of opportunities to do well in the class, if you put in enough effort to actually do the work. None of the work or tests are difficult because of the amount of time she gives to do them. Dr. Lorenz is more than willing to work with you if you have a problem.
Professor was very sweet. I took her Humanities online, and the entire course was outlined at the beginning of the semester- it was alot and I was worried but as the semester went on, she would knock assignments off. While this was a required course, I did learn. Professor Lorenz offers lots of room for extra credit and I had above a 100%!
She was perfect. She taught with passion and really knows the material she was talking about!
She was a very fair professor because she gave everyone an easy chance to get a good grade with many opportunities for bonus points and tests that could be taken as many times as you want.
I really liked Dr. Lorenz. She is extremely caring and if something is going on in your life she is very accommodating. When it comes to lecture I wish there more hands on activities are the semester progressed. There is way too many essays and journals. And most of the exams have way too many questions.
Great teacher but not a fan of the Grammer but that's just me. I respect that she makes us have our phones away and she enforces that policy. The assignments are mostly easy some time consuming. My grade should've been higher but that was my fault due to outside reasons.
attendance does matter make sure going to class. She grades very honestly based on how much work you put in which I feel is fair. Goes over material very fast and efficiently and everything on the power-points will be on the test, for the papers pay attention to the little information she says and you will have a very easy time writing them.
If you attend class and do your homework you will get by very easy. She offers A LOT of extra credit. She is also very passionate about what she is teaching and love when her students participate. The exams are mainly online and you are given multiple attempts to take them.
The class is incredibly lecture heavy with her going over the allotted class time on more than one occasion. The lectures can be hard to follow and keep track of what she is discussing due to how much she jumps back and forth between different figures in history and so on. The class is also mind numbingly boring.
Dr. Lorenz is a very sweet lady, and I found the subject matter very interesting. Although, her lectures are a little bit hard to follow sometimes because she jumped around a lot.
She is extremely nice. Attendance is important. She offers lots of extra credit. Very lecture heavy, the lectures are kinda boring, but sometimes very interesting. The tests are online and have unlimited attempts, she wants you to succeed in the class and learn a thing or two, which is honestly not that hard to do.
she loves what she is teaching which makes it easier to comprehend because she truly knows what she is talking about. This class was one i was not sure why i was taking it, but this was my favorite class out of the whole semester.
She really brought the lectures to life with her experiences and stories.
She is very passionate about what she teaches and makes the class enjoyable. Loves class discussion and gives many opportunities for extra credit.
She is a great teacher and she is very passionate about what she is teaching. I did not think I would be very interested in this class but I ended up liking it a lot.
I had to take this class as a requirement for my major, and it was the worst class I have taken. Professor is not prepared for class and doesn't give clear answers on homework. Felt has though she was cultural insensitive, and wouldn't listen to students. Very difficult to be in communication with, and will delete emails without reading them.
Her lecture can be boring, but I was shocked with the amount of background information she knew about the subject. She is very passionate and gives plenty of extra credit. She is very lenient with late work and cares about her students. She gives you plenty of time to take the online tests and can take them as many times as you want.
This is a lecture heavy class and was fairly boring. Though, Dr. Lorenz is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable regarding the content she teaches. She give a lot of bonus which I liked a lot because it makes it almost impossible to do poorly in her class.
Dr. Lorenz is a very enthusiastic Professor. She is very passionate about her area of study and it makes for quite interesting lectures on what can be a boring subject. I would recommend taking her course.
It was a good class all things considered but the assigned seating did not seem necessary and Attendance was harshly enforced
Nice class. Attendance was taken very seriously. She had a lot of "busy work" but the work was easy and almost always included videos. She did not want anyone to fail so she gave a lot of bonus points which was helpful. Overall, I like the class and her as a teacher.
Great Professor! She is very knowledgeable in her area and passionate of what she teachers, which when paired together create a great learning environment. I would definitely take her class again as it was very fun and interesting.
She was a very nice professor, although sometimes took certain things a little too seriously. She has to also work on reading the room, especially in this generation. She likes to use examples that only fit the "social norms" when it comes to gender.
she can sometimes make things confusing by changing her lesson plans or due dates somewhat frequently and her BB page is not the cleanest. however, she really cares about the material she teaches and is very knowledgeable. also cares about her students and is willing to work with you to help you do well in her class.
Professor Lorenz is a great professor. She genuinely cares about her students, and wants them to succeed in her class. Tests are online with multiple attempts, lots of extra credit opportunities, and assignments are not difficult. It is easy to tell that she is passionate about her job which makes class entertaining to attend. Would take her again.
Dr. Lorenz is a very nice professor. She is very passionate about what she does, which makes the class enjoyable since she clearly loves what she does. The homework assignments and tests are relatively easy. She wants you to do as best as you can so she offers multiple attempts on tests and bonus points.
Dr. Lorenz is so passionate about Humanities and she is such a fun teacher! Occasionally things get confusing when we jump around in material, but she does a good job by clarifying when needed!
She is a very good professor. She is very knowledgeable about what she is teaching. Annoying parts of the class are no phones, no laptops, can only miss 3 classes without missing points, and she has notecards with everyone's name on them and will call on people randomly. Tests are very easy and assignments for the most part don't take too long.
Dr. Lorenz, is a bit eccentric but very passionate for the arts. She is a very dedicated professor, which is the most important quality.
Professor Lorenz is a great teacher, but very boring to listen to. Classes are lecture heavy. She cares deeply on what she is teaching.
I enjoyed Dr. Lorenz as a professor, she is very passionate about what she teaches, but the class itself was very boring and definitely lecture heavy. The assignments/tests were overall pretty easy and you have more than enough time to complete them. She also offers a bunch of extra credit.
Carol Lorenz is a very passionate professor. She lectures a lot which can get boring but you'll get through it. She made all her tests and quizzes online with open note and open book.
She goes into so much detail and repeated it made her run out of time. She gave extra credit and allow retakes of the test. She took the class to the museum and the opera. She lost about an hour of lecture weekly focusing on money and tickets. She fails for attendance and has a strict technology policy no note-taking on laptops and no cell phones.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about the arts. As a class we attended the theater, opera, and museum. Multiple attempts were allowed on all of her exams and she gave great feedback when grading assignments. She offered many extra credit assignments and was very helpful when it came to answering any questions asked. Attendance is critical.
This class was boring and very lecture heavy. Not an interesting class. Dr. Lorenz does not like laptops, even if you truly are taking notes. Lorenz is an easy professor but hard to listen to sometimes and pretty unorganized. The good thing about this class is that tests can be taken multiple times and there are a lot of opportunities for bonus.
Although very energetic and well-intending, Dr. Lorenz is abrasive to deal with in the classroom. She is unorganized and banters about the same topics in class for three straight lessons. You'll notice nothing is updated on Blackboard and her way of communicating with 8 fonts and highlighting is god-awful to read. Sadly, I question her competence.
Dr. Lorenz is a very serious professor and loves what she teaches. She is also very understanding when it comes to personal issues, and will accommodate for you, but it is still important that you show up to class.
Dr. Lorenz is knowledgeable about what she teaches and she loves what she teaches. It is completely lecture based. She is strict with having no laptops or phones out during class. Be prepared to go on field trips outside of class time. The tests are able to be taken as many times as you want while it is open. She also offers a lot of extra credit.
The class was fairly simple and easy but she gives you busy work. A lot of watching videos and typing up facts from them. She's a very sweet lady and is very enthusiastic about her class. She mixed around the class quite often and would blank out. I would recommend, it's a super easy core class.
She's really passioniate about what she teaches and it shows her lectures. She can be a little crazy sometimes, but it makes the class a lot more enjoyable. The biggest thing is that she really hates phones and computers so as long as they're away she's usually pretty chill.
Dr. Lorenz is a great educator. She is open to student opinions and always does what she thinks will help students learn the content best. The only thing that didn't allow her to be "awesome" is that she can become unorganized with the dates of assignments and her class is a lot of very long lectures.
She can be very unorganized at times, but she means well.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about what she teaches. She can be a little intimidating at first but she is very caring. The content itself can be boring at times but most of the time she has a video to go along with the topic that makes it easier to follow along. Tests are multiple choice on Blackboard and can be taken as many times as you want.
Dr. Lorenz is a very passionate professor. You can tell she enjoys teaching and is very knowledgeable about the topics she is discussing. My one recommendation to make the class better is to make it more clear under the assignments tab what is due and what is not due. It was always hard for me to tell what I had to do.
Dr. Lorenz knows a lot about what she is teaching and really cares about students learning! She gives many opportunities to receive extra credit or to make up assignments. She jumps around weeks in Blackboard, but she is constantly reminding students of what is due so it's not a big issue. She's a sweet woman and the class is not challenging.
Dr. Lorenz is very knowledgeable and teaches with a passion. You will learn a lot if you attend class and pay attention to her lectures. Make sure to have a pen and paper to take notes because electronic devices are heavily discouraged by her. Expect assigned seats and to be yelled at if you decide to use your phone when she is teaching
Class featured a lot of tests, but none were particularly difficult, we had plenty of time to prepare and were given unlimited attempts (the tests are all online) before the time limit ran out. Cares a lot about grammar and writing at a college level, and does sometimes repeat herself too much. Attendance is mandatory and taken very seriously!
She's a great professor in terms of knowing what she is talking about. She has a lot of knowledge in the topics she teaches. All exams but the final are online. She is VERY strict about old school stuff though. For example, no phones & very strict about grammar when completely an assignment. A LOT of extra credit.
EXTREMELY knowledgeable, very interesting lectures. NO TECHNOLOGY EVER ALLOWED. Gave up a lot of evenings going to theatre performances and art museums because they were required for this class. She teetered between being sweet and a little condescending. Easy to pass if you do the homework though.
She was an OK professor but was strict because she insisted on no phones and did not allow laptops either. She is definitely passionate about what she is teaching but is also very hard to get along with. If she asked someone to give feedback on something, she picked apart their answer. Overall, take it online or with another professor.
She is a great person, very passionate. Easy class but sometimes she's confusing due to her multiple classes.
Lorenz did not allow notes to be taken on a laptop, or notebook paper. She was very lecture heavy, and every minute of every class period was used. Never let out early, and not allowed to take notes, so some classes were basically a waiting game. However, she is a very dedicated professor, who genuinely loves what she is teaching,Loves extra credit
Was a good teacher very strict on phones sometimes would come off topic
Her tests and quizzes are online which allows students to achieve the best grades possible. However, she is strict on grammar, spelling and syntax in any writing assignment.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about teaching this class. The only thing that I didn't like was how she was sort of all over the place with teaching. She would talk about one thing, start talking about something different, and then go back to what she was talking about originally. Overall, her class is easy to pass and it's not bad at all.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about teaching, and her lectures are easy to listen to. Overall, very fair teacher that expects the best from her students. My only issue was her blackboard can be hard to navigate. It may be easier if she did not post everything all at once and instead posted material as we cover it in class. Extra credit was helpful.
Dr. Lorenz is a great professor. She was very understanding with her students, all her tests are online. She does make attendance mandatory, but the class is interesting enough that you'll want to go. Her blackboard was a little confusing because we had to move some things around throughout the year but she sent out many emails to help navigate.
Dr. Lorenz was a great professor. She understood and cared deeply about the material that she taught. Sometimes the assignments that we had to do were unclear, and her blackboard organization lacked. However, she is pretty lenient on due dates.
Dr.Lorenz did an amazing job with her lectures. My only complaint was that what was graded and when it was due was a struggle to find out. Overall a very fun class that did lots outside of the classroom.
Passionate about teachings her assignments are manageable but her blackboard was unorganized. There would be assignments saying they were due when they weren't I wish she would've updated it more. She's so specific about things- made a lot of her assignments harder than need be she gives a lot of extra credit her tests are also great they are online
I personally would not take this class again, but I definitely saw lots of improvement in myself because of Dr. Lorenz.
Dr. Lorenz is great she is very passionate about art. She is fun and goes in-depth about what you are learning that day. All of her tests are online except the final. The only complaint is that she does not always know what is going on; she gets confused a lot.
Lorenz cares about Art and is passionate but in the wrong way, she is very difficult to understand when assignments are concerned and you have to do a lot of independent work.
She is very knowledgeable about the subject and wants you to succeed also she is very passionate about what she teaches !
Professor is a good professor that takes her lecturing seriously and will speak to you if you're lacking I did it!
Dr. Lorenz's class has a lot of extra credit opportunities. She is very serious on grammar and will reduce your grade on assignments if it is not correct. I would say that this class is not difficult, you just have to apply yourself and focus on instructions. She is very strict on attendance and does not allow phones to be used.
The good thing was all tests were online. I felt she was very lecture heavy and treated students like high schoolers. She yelled at our class for using the restroom too frequently. Also, she didn't allow phones or laptops in class. If she caught you not paying attention she called you out. Definitely an easy class, but a very boring class.
She is a great professor and loves teaching about different arts and music. The class is not difficult by any means but you should be paying attention. She loves to call on people to get their opinions. There are tests throughout the semester but they are all online. She is very nice and cares about her students. I recommend taking her.
Her lectures were very engaging and taught me a lot about how to analyze art and what to consider when looking at the context surrounding how art is created and consumed. It gave me a lot to consider when I go about in my own experiences in the arts, like character design and art composition.
She is a great professor and teaches very well, but the course has a heavy workload.
She is very loud and crazy about not letting phones. However, she is the absolute easiest class you will ever take. She cares a lot about what she's teaching and takes her classes on trips to places like the Opera and the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh. There are many chances for bonuses, and the tests are online and can be attempted many times.
Dr. Lorenz is a very easy-going professor. She gives a lot of opportunities for bonus so that you never have to stress about your grade in the class. All of the exams are online other than the final, and they all have multiple attempts. Her lectures are very engaging and she provides visuals such as videos and photos to give students real examples.
Dr. Lorenz truly cares about the material she teaches and she cares about her students. One of the best things about her class is that all the tests were online, and she gave an unlimited amount of attempts for every single one.Lots of extra credit opportunities too! The only thing I didn't like about this class was how unorganized blackboard was.
She is a very sporadic professor and very passionate about art and humanities. I did not like how each lecture felt like she was saying the same thing over and over again. She is not good with technology and plays all of her videos at full volume. However she cares about her students and would help with anything you need.
I enjoyed the class. Lorenz is heavy lecture, but I did not mind. The work seems like a lot at times, but it was never as bad as it could have been. I did appreciate the extra credit and make-up opportunities. She is a good teacher that is passionate about the arts. The only issue was that I found the blackboard layout for this class confusing.
Easiest class ever, just have to do your. She is very passionate about the topics, but us extremely lecture heavy
Dr. Lorenz is overall a good professor. She's very passionate about what she teaches, and so I felt myself wanting to learn more about what she was teaching. The only complaint I have about Dr. Lorenz is that her Blackboard can be quite hard to navigate. Her assignments are relatively easy, and her tests are all online.
She is a very strict about art and humanities. She is not good with technology , and doesn't respond to emails and plays all of her videos at full volume, I get headache after each class, she has to know that we are taking this class because its required no because we fell in love with art and we are interested. she has to take it easy
I really enjoyed being in class with Professor Lorenz. She is very passionate in her lectures and about what she teaches and I believe that is what makes her great. She is very easy to approach and talk to if you have any questions as well.
I enjoyed taking Dr. Lorenz's class. She is extremely passionate about each topic and is willing to answer any questions that students may have. There is a lot of opportunity for extra credit and the course is lecture heavy.
Dr. Lorenz is an extremely eccentric woman who is also extremely passionate about the arts. Lectures are at times unbearable with the technology troubles and excessive screaming. You also cannot have your phone or laptop out at any point. However, very easy A with loads of bonus opportunities and unlimited attempts on tests.
Dr. Lorenz is an amazing teacher that takes the time to prepare for every lecture. She will answer any questions that you may have and is always available after class.
Dr. Lorenz is a great teacher who cares a lot about what she teaches. Her class was easy, as she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and unlimited attempts on the tests which are online. However, her blackboard is very unorganized as there are due dates from 2 years ago on assignments, so it is tough to know when assignments are due.
Dr. Lorenz is definitely a respectable professor. She truly cares about not only the contents of the class, but also the students. She always allows multiple extra credit assignments and tests are all online. The only downsides of her teaching are her lack of willingness to change how she uses technology and her lecture-heavy teaching style.
You can easily get over a 100% in this class without trying very hard. She offers an excessive amount of extra credit. Some days she is loud or gets upset about small things, but most of the time it's alright. You won't be able to use your phone during class.
She is very passionate about what she teaches, and offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. The only thing I could critique her organization, particularly on Blackboard. I had trouble locating assignments on multiple occasions. She will make changes via email, but will not change due dates/details on Blackboard and it gets confusing.
Dr. Lorenz is a very reasonable teacher. She was a lovely professor and I learned a lot from her lectures. Be prepared to gather and memorize a lot of the material needed for the final exam. Though I felt like she would have called me out if I did something she didn't agree upon, but my anxiety was okay and I did what I needed to do.
She does lots of lectures but does a good job of keeping them interesting and breaking them by adding videos. She does not give out too much homework, but when she does, she gives plenty of time to complete it and is very understanding if you talk to her. She gives out a lot of extra credit, so there is no way to fail her class. She is very nice!!
Her class is mainly lecture-heavy, but she does add videos and shares stories that keep it interesting. There is not very much homework and only a couple of papers. I will say that sometimes she is disorganized and things such as due dates, assignments, etc get confusing.
She is very lecture heavy, very unorganized when it comes to assignments on what and when things are due. She also sends a lot of emails but tends to have a lot of information which can get very confusing. When it comes to asking her about assignments, she wants you to text her but talks a long time to respond. For her grading she is very strict.
She was very passionate about what she taught, but she was also all over the place. You never really knew when your assignments were due and she kept moving around dates. She's a very harsh grader and thinks you have all the time in the world. If you don't show up you will fail the course. Lecture HEAVY, goes from start of class to the very end.
**It is recommended that you take notes on paper! She gets paranoid of people taking notes on computers.** A very kind, but strict teacher. She gives COPIUS amounts of extra credit, so take advantage of them!! The class covers a lot of topics, and sometimes it's all over the place- but as long as you pay attention, you'll be okay.
This class was about average. She will tell you a lot of stories about the person/art, but a lot of that just isn't on tests so be sure to look at the notes given. However, you have multiple attempts and loads of extra credit opportunities. She is very passionate about what she does and is very lecture heavy. If you don't show up, you won't pass.
The only thing I wish she did differently was put the assignments on the calendar so they wouldn't be so hard to miss. She does mention the assignments in class, but however with the workload from other classes, they are pretty easy to miss.
Dr. Lorenz is a very passionate teacher. She offers a lot of extra credit, so much that you can basically pass the class off of it. She allows multiple retakes on the tests so it sets you up for success and gets rid of test anxiety. Sometimes blackboard and extra credit trips are unorganized but she fixes the issue as soon as you let her know.
The class was easy and if you pay attention the tests are easy. Only one paper at the end of the semester. She gives loads of extra credit so it is easy to pass.
Dr. Lorenz is an amazing storyteller and is passionate about art. The stories can help with studying for tests, but the tests are not solely based on the lectures in class. Also, homework due dates are very hard to pay attention to and she will sometimes move them without updating Blackboard. If you miss a lot of classes, DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE.
Lorenz is a fair professor. While she is lecture heavy I did not need my textbook once. She gives you many chances to turn in your work, with penalty points. You can take the test as many times as you would like until you get the desired grade.
She struggles with technology very often, which makes knowing what to do and when it is due very confusing. This class feels disorganized very often. She is strict about use of technology in her class. She is also extremely passionate about what she teaches, and genuinely wants all of her students to succeed. She will give lots of extra credit too!
Dr. Lorenz is a fair professor who wants everyone in her class to succeed. She is lecture-heavy, however, I did not need a textbook at all. She is passionate about what she teaches and uses stories to describe each subject. As well as this, she offers lots of extra credit to help everyone get the grade he/she wants.
She has long lectures which are informative but they are dry with no kind of interaction. She offers extra credit which is a plus but she does have great stories and she is very educated about what she teaches. she is very passionate about art. She should try to be more interactive in her lectures.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about what she teaches and does a great job doing so. She is pretty strict on grading but gives a lot of time for assignments and even tests. She gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit too. She does a great job exposing students to so many different arts with lots of pictures and videos to help learn.
She always goes into depth about what she's talking about. She has a story to go along with everything.Which can be helpful at times. There isn't much interaction with the class though. She is disorganized so it is a bit confusing when it comes to the work due dates. She's very strict on assigned seats and paying attention. She's full of energy too.
Overall a great teacher. She is very educated and knows what she is talking about. The only issue was due dates got confusing due to her lack of knowledge with technology. It is very easy to get a good grade in this class.
Lecture heavy with no sort of interaction, which has caused myself and a few others to fall asleep in her class. Otherwise, she's very educated and passionate about the course and the materials. She wants everyone to pass and succeed but if you don't show up to class you won't. She's a little disorganized but very lenient with extending deadlines.
Does lectures every class and is clear on the subject. Gives extra credit and uses videos a lot in class for students to watch and relate to.
Gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. She is very passionate about her subject and wants everyone to succeed. However, she made me nervous when asking questions because she came off as a little rude or sarcastic and did not provide enough details for an answer.
She is very passionate about what she teaches; however, she has so much information to present to the students, and it causes her to lecture every single day for the full class period. The course is designed to provide every student with the same opportunity of passing the course.
Dr. Carol Lorenz is not only a skilled and knowledgeable professor but also someone who actively seeks to enhance the learning journey for her students. Her classes are a testament to the idea that academic rigor can coexist with an enjoyable and fulfilling learning experience. Students who take her courses not only gain valuable insights.
Dr. Lorenz is a really great professor if you need to take a Humanities course. She gives out a ton of extra credit opportunities, and her tests are all taken at home. She makes it pretty impossible to fail her course. The only thing is you have to show up because attendance is mandatory and also a part of your grade.
Lectures can be boring, but she gives out a lot of extra credit making the class an easy A if you do your work.
I really enjoyed the topics we went over, especially because of how much I love the arts. I feel like Dr. Lorenz was an organized person when it came to her lectures, but she also is not that good working with online platforms. I would have liked some more hands on activities; things we could do on our own that would still be enjoyable.
Gives assignments to write facts from videos you watch. All facts must be correct (true), but also grammatically correct. Give a lot of extra credit. Lectures are boring, and you have to pay attention or she will get mad.
Love the online tests with unlimited tries. Very passionate about her teaching which can make it hard to follow along during lectures. Not the best with technology but a solid professor.
Dr. Lorenz holds a very lecture heavy course. There are assignments based on the material, but expect to write facts based on videos for each lesson covered. Grammar and syntax are important, as well as accuracy. I would advise any student to be present for class, as that is part of the final grade. There is plenty of extra credit given as well.
She only demands your attention and it won't be too bad. Format for the final is the worst I have taken. Phones strictly prohibited. Uses videos frequently to help visualize her points. Assignments are facts to write about videos watched on own time. Overall not terrible but if you are in a poor mood going into the class, she will make it worse.
She gives more extra credit and second chances than any professor I have had in 3 years. If you attend class and do the homework you are basically guaranteed an A.
She gives lots of extra credit opportunities and wants everyone to pass. She is very old school and strict on attendance and phone usage. She is passionate about what she teaches.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about teaching and having students learn new things. I like that the class is based off of facts but 100 facts by memory I believe is too much, but the extra credit opportunities help.
Dr. Lorenz is very old school and is very passionate about teaching art. However on assignments she will take off points for simple things as little as a coma... in an art class. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities which helped me pass. Lectures were very boring and she doesn't like technology. Tests and assignments were easy.
She is a talker and will lecture for the entire time so be prepared to never leave class early. Do not just SKIP or MISS CLASSS!!!!! She will fail you just based on attendance, no matter what your letter grade is. Very passionate and knowledgeable about the material she cover just may forget things she says from time to time.
Very passionate about her lessons, but is wildly disorganized in both giving assignment directions and in where to find the content for her lectures. Overall, it is a fairly easy class with content that is enjoyable to learn and extra credit given if necessary.
She was good at giving lecture and explaining the details of artwork and music. She added work over break which I was not expecting. The tests are just cramming a bunch of information that is impossible to gain. She wants to get the whole course done, but it is not possible in one semester. So, descent due to massive credit and bonus points.
If you are looking for a stern, straight to business professor, here you go! You will be obligated to go on "field trips" to the museum and the opera. Carol's blackboard is extremely disorganized so make sure you are paying attention to what she says is due. Also, the assigned seats and forcing of laptops shut is ridiculous, we pay to come here.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about what she teaches, but also unorganized. Blackboard dates are usually wrong. Attendence is strict and no phones are allowed. She offers a lot of extra credit, but expect 100 emails and sit through lectures. She will also force you to attend the Pittsburgh museum and opera. She takes forever grade assignments.
Extremely passionate about what she is teaching.Material overlapping can be overwhelming to students and her. Opportunity for a great grade, extra credit, extensions and even substitute assignments. She wants the students to succeed.Very caring. Picky on writings, but not a difficult grader. Passion and caring outweigh any negatives to her course.
Very passionate. Too involved with getting us to museum/opera to worry about teaching, fell behind 3 weeks in course. Too busy to answer questions in class. Doesn't answer emails but gives personal phone # for texts. Lots of busy work. Unorganized in class and on Blackboard. So much extra credit, didn't take final and was still over 100%
I really enjoyed her class. She is strict on having your full attention and grading but her main concern is making sure everyone passes while also learning something. She's fun and very dedicated and passionate. As long as you're showing up and paying attention it's a guaranteed pass.
- she will send you 10 emails in a week making it difficult to find what is actually relevant - phones are strictly prohibited - lots of extra credit - insanely strict about grammar - mandatory play & museum trip w/ follow up paper - not great with technology - passionate and knowledgable - heavy religious themes - you should be able to get an A
She is very strict about grammar and has a strict no cellphones policy. Otherwise, she is very passionate about her work and wants to make sure you are giving her your full attention. The lectures do seem a little boring at times but are actually quite interesting. She is a great teacher and you learn some interesting facts.
Attend the class and do your homework on time and you'll be fine. If you submit something watch your grammar she is strict in that way. If you like using your phone in class she'll get furious even the laptop isn't allowed to be open in every lecture. She really tries to make everyone pass the class and tries to be fair to everyone at any time.
Her organization is a bit all over the page, but she cares very much about her students and their success.
Dr. Lorenz is very kind and understanding. Her class is heavy on lectures, but she makes them interesting. She's the queen of extra credit, and if you attend class and try your best, you will earn an A. She is truly someone who believes in what she teaches and is dedicated to introducing the arts to all of her students. Overall a great professor!
Good professor. A little crazy, but I'll attribute it to her passion for arts and humanities. Very knowledgable. I missed class more than 7 times so instead of getting an A, my grade will be a B. Ridiculous. If I can get an A without showing up to class, then attendance shouldn't be apart of the grade.
While she gives you many opportunities to pass the course and with extra credit her grading can be unnecessarily rough.
Dr. Lorenz is a great professor who truly wants he students to succeed and care about art. She is also incredibly knowledgable in the field. She has a very strict no phones policy and she sometimes has trouble pulling up things in class online. Overall though she is a great professor who will give you a good understanding of the world of Art
Dr Lorenz always gives students the opportunity to do extra credit assignments. She is always calling on people to reflect on her lectures so it is important to always be paying attention. She also does not tolerate any technology but overall she is a great teacher to take as long as you submit work on time
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about what she teaches. She lectures every class. You will have many opportunities to receive extra credit, so make sure you take advantage of it. Don't be on your phone or laptop in class, or you will get yelled at to put it away. You will only get three unexcused absences before you lose points, so show up to class.
Does a good job at introducing you to arts that you would have never looked at otherwise. Tons of extra credit is given out and you are given over a week to do the tests plus you can take them multiple times. Not allowed to have phone in class at all. Mandatory museum and school theater visit with optional opera visit for bonus. Loose on deadlines.
very easy class with amazing professor. Had weekly homework assignments that were fairly easy as long as you check your grammer before turning it in! Strict grader! Attendance is mandatory so just show up. She may call on you for a reflection. Makes you go to opera, history museum, and rmu musical with a follow up paper on each. NO PHONES OR LAPTOP
Professor Lorenz brings a lot of passion to this class, though organization can be a bit scattered. Lots of extra credit, but strict grading and mandatory attendance. unstuckstudy ai was a huge help for study prep on top of the free textbook.
Tough grader on certain things such as facts assignments. Have to go places such as RMU musical, Art Museum, Opera (bonus). Also have to pay for own ticket to musical and museum. Gives a lot of information at once. Blackboard page is packed to the brim with information. (sometimes hard to navigate). DO NOT be seen with phone during class.
The content is interesting and you can tell she is very very passionate about what she teaches. Brings a bit too much opinion/religion into lecture sometimes. Grading criteria is often unclear and she will take multiple points off an assignment for even the smallest of punctuation mistakes. Be prepared to randomly get called on and answer questions
Very passionate professor who obviously knows what she is talking about while teaching. Lectures are very intriguing and uses a lot of visual aid. Is a tough grader on grammar but gives lots of easy extra credit. Her blackboard is also hard to navigate and sometimes she is hard to follow during class when talking about assignments.
She was a very good professor who showed great passion for what she was teaching. She has so many extra credit assignments, that them alone would allow you to easily pass the class. Gives out great chnaces to recieve SET credit, such as going to the Opera.
show up to class and don't have your phone out and you'll be good, take advantage of bonus
She was overall a pretty decent professor. The class is almost 100% lecture which I found to be a little boring, but she did a pretty good job of sharing interesting information. I think that her expectations of us for writing a research paper were a little too high, but she grades easier than I expected based on her explanations in class.
She is a very good teacher passionate about the arts and its history. Learning about it was inspiring and interesting, which always made me excited for class.
Professor Lorenz is a great teacher who is passionate about the topics discussed. Lectures can be boring since I don't have much of an interest in these types of things. Don't have your phone out during class, be prepared to be called on, and start your papers early.
Most of work is watching videos on your own and writing facts that were in the videos. Even if you have 100%, she will fail you if you missed too many days of class. The class requires you to pay for events on/off campus. If you do not go to these events you will miss points on assignments, and you are required to pay for them yourselves.
guidelines are very unclear and hw is hard to find, yet always expected to be done. has many opinions that she inserts into lectures. you have to pay for required assignments, like going to the opera. she will fail you if you miss class too much and kick you out if she even sees your phone
She has a not of assignments and make you go to the opera and theatre and stuff like that and it includes to do papers about that. She talks A LOT during class so be ready to take notes. She uses a not of powerpoint but also pioctures and videos during her lectures, she is very hard with phones.
Passionate professor. Clear on how/what she grades. Clearly states her attendance policy, miss a lot of class and you won't pass. Gives students a lot of extra credit opportunities which is helpful. You have to pay for your musical ticket, opera ticket, and museum ticket. Often accommodating w due dates. Blackboard is messy. Don't go on your phone!
Her tests are all online and they are around 75 questions, but you get about a week to do it and unlimited tries. There are a couple papers but not too many. There is an assignment almost every week, just watching videos and writing the required amount of information about them. She does not allow phones in class and lets you know it.
Dr. Lorenz is one of my favorite professors that I've encountered in my college career so far. I would not suggest taking this class if you're someone who cannot give full respect to your instructors, because she does not tolerate disrespect--or cell phone use! She is extremely educated in what she teaches and this is clear in every lecture.
Overall, she was a good teacher, but her homework and research papers might be a lot. She tries her best to make it as easy as possible. Her class is lecture-based, and she does require attendance, which most students might not like. However, I think she does a good job overall communicating and trying to meet the academic needs of her students.
Dr. Lorenz is a great teacher and has very interesting lectures. There are a few tests but they're online and you can take them as many times as you want. She more strict with grading when it comes to papers but most assignments are just busy work like watching videos and writing facts. She gives A LOT of extra credit.
Fragile ego. Cannot stand the idea of not being the center of attention at all times, she will freak out if she thinks you are not listening to her despite not causing a distraction for the class. Very emotionally volatile. Blackboard is a mess, due dates are wrong. Completely incompetent with technology. Easy A, little homework with virtual tests.
Dr. Lorenz is a great passionate teacher of the arts. She gives lots of extra credit and her tests are all online with 2 attempts. She is very strict about phones in class however, as a college student, not being on ur phone during class shouldn't be such a hard request. She has only a few assignments.
Dr. Lorenz was good teacher and had good overall lectures.
I have no true complaints about Dr. Lorenz. I mainly feel that I would be able to retain more information about the subject if her main teaching style wasn't lecturing. Overall Dr. Lorenz is not a bad professor and I'd like to look at her teaching/grading style as a way of preparing us for the rest of our college career.

Overall, Dr. Lorenz is not a bad professor and I'd like to look at her teaching/grading style as a way of preparing us for the rest of our college career.
The course covered different areas of art. I feel like we spent a awhile on some topics and there couldve been other things covered, but overall I liked the class. Taking the course gives you a chance to venture into different art topics such as performance and fine art.
I certainly appreciate Dr. Lorenz's teaching style as I have not had a teacher or professor like her before. She is very lecture and I have found myself staring off into space many times (not exactly her fault) during her long-winded stories and lectures. She gives out plenty of extra credit, some requiring no effort at all, and is a good professor
Overall, I feel Dr.Lorenz is an amazing professor. With my time here at RMU she's become my top two favorite professors. She's funny overall but she definitely knows a lot about what's shown in the course. Her lectures are clear as well. As far as assignments you'll mainly do facts on videos she has you watch.
Dr. Lorenz is a overall good professor she gives lots of extra credit assignments to boost your grade. Most of the tests are online and she'll give you multiple days to do it. The homework assignments mainly consist of doing facts which were easy. Don't go on your phone in class and don't miss too many classes!
Her tests are online, and you have a week to complete them with unlimited attempts. They are all around 70 questions. She gives multiple extra credit options. Blackboard is a mess and some of the due dates are wrong. Never get your phone out in class because she will call you out in front of everyone and tell you to leave.
Carol Lorenz is a great professor. All of the lectures are very interesting, and she is a great presenter. This course taught me a lot about art and art history, which I knew very little about. This is not a difficult course by any means; just make sure that you show up and do the assignments. But, be prepared to witness some technology problems.
Overall, she's not a bad professor Thinks she has more time than she does For this being a basic, required class, it had more work than any of my other classes LIKES grammar, participation, video/fact assigns HATES phones, packing up early Not good w/ tech-may need help take advantage of field trips (bonus) multiple(big) papers, don't procrastinate
She is a good teacher, because you can tell that she is genuinely passionate about what she teaches. She does a lot of power point lectures but makes them entertaining with stories that go along with what she is talking about. She offers a ton of extra credit as well. However, she does not allow your cell phone in class.
She was a good professor because she was passionate about the course material. She taught using powerpoint presentations and showed videos in class.
Honestly wasn't a bad class, she gives a lot of extra credit, and all the assignments are very easy and manageable. Attendance is mandatory.
Overall she's a very fair and caring professor. This class includes a lot of field trips and video facts. Professor Carol is a really nice and kind professor and she's very respectful.
She was actually a really good professor. Very kind. Communicated very well with her students.
No presentations or group projects, no textbook! Weekly assignments but her blackboard's a mess. She means well but doesn't know her own due dates. Online exams! She's insistent about attendance and gave assigned seats. She went through a phase where we couldn't use laptops, and phones are always out. She repeats material and rarely cancels class.
she was so mean i hate her
WATCH OUT!! She requires you to go to two to three outside activities: theatre production, opera, and museum. She claims they're extra credit but they're required. Overly passionate and expects everyone to know everything about art. NOT ONLINE SAVY, blackboard CONFUSING. She missed class for a week, never redid the syllabus and makes up due dates.
Dr. Lorenz is knowledgeable/passionate about the Humanities. Unlike other Humanities courses her coursework is more rigorous and she tends to be a tough grader. While her tests are online and available for a week, they are lengthy. She is very particular about grammar and punctuation, which I find hypocritical based on her tests and emails.
she gets confused when assignments are due, and the dates are always wrong because she copies and pastes assignments from previous semesters. crazy amount of work for a 100 level class. gives many extra credit opportunites but you have to attend out of class productions.
Strict on attendance (6 allowed), easy assignments, lots of extra credit. Tests are long but have unlimited attempts over a week. Requires trips (play, opera, museum). Final paper graded strictly. Passionate teacher, average 1010 class.
You will learn lots in this class. She loves to lecture and ask what you learned at the end of every class. The homework is very easy with lots of extra credit. The class isn't bad with the exception of the end of the semester paper.
I think she knows what she's talking about and is clearly passionate. However, she requires you to go to the opera, a musical, and the museum outside of class time, which I think is unfair. Also, she gives lots of busy work.
Dr. Lorenz is very passionate about her lectures and wants her students to find an interest in the material. She is also fairly lenient with deadlines, because she wants everyone to succeed. However, she requires multiple out-of-class attendance trips and is also very strict with how assignments are completed.
Her class was okay. Shes crazy for sure but other than that her class was not very difficult. But she takes points off everytime you miss class.
Dr. Lorenz is very enthusiastic and loves art. She has a lot of background knowledge on this topic and makes sure her students take away something from each class. I enjoyed having her as my professor for this course. She gives a ton of extra credit and opportunities to receive a good grade.
Honestly shes very passionate, helps us explore the art world pretty decently, went to the opera, was fun. The subject is kinda boring to me though. She puts a lot of emphasis on grammar and spelling , which can be ironic given how many emails shes sent with grammar and spelling mistakes, very friendly, just ask her for help and youll get it.
Carol Lorenz has passion in every lecture that I have had with her. She definitely knows what she is talking about when it comes to the history of art. This is a very easy course and I can say that I learned a lot about art from taking this course.
Dr. Lorenz is a very good professor and I enjoyed her lectures the most out of everything. My only knock on the class was blackboard was very hard to manage and it was all over the place. But she was a very nice professor and helps you flourish in her class.
Out of all of my business classes so far Humanities took up the majority of my time, she requiers so many assignments and papers and tests that made me go insanse. Her lectures are boring and long and she is extremley strict.
She needs and reported. She yelled at everyone who had their laptops open as if they didnt pay their own money to use them to take notes. She yelled at me in the middle of her lesson because I chose to go to the bathroom at 20 years old. She acts as if she hates students, common sense would tell you if you dont like teaching, do something else
She was increasingly strict on cell phones, specifically if one person in class had their cell phone out; it became an unnecessary outburst by Dr. Lorenz
Carol Lorenz is a character (not necessarily in a bad way)! She is very passionate about what she is teaching, and that does make the class engaging. However, she struggles to keep organized, making it hard to know when things are due or what assignments are for your class and not ones from semesters before that she didn't take out of Blackboard.
Dr. Lorenz is a kind and passionate professor. She explains art history clearly and makes it interesting. I liked how she let us share our own ideas and gave helpful feedback. It would be even better with more videos or interactive activities.
Dr. Lorenz is a kind and passionate professor. She explains art history clearly and makes it interesting. I liked how she let us share our own ideas and gave helpful feedback. It would be even better with more videos or interactive activities.
Dr. Lorenz is very informative and interesting. Her class is lecture dense, but the material is not difficult. The tests are done on your own, you get unlimited attempts, and they are up for over a week. She also gives a substantial amount of extra credit opportunities. My advice: go to class and do your work, you'll be good. Highly Recommend!!
I like how much she loves her job and how much she cares about what she's teaching. It's nice to have a teacher who truly appreciates what they do and cares to get their students the knowledge they need for the class, and she does a very good job at that.
Dr. Lorenz has a verry chaotic blackboard shell - difficult to understand. She shows us inappropriate content during class, but since attendance is mandatory you get punished if you do not attend. It is also difficult to understand when assignments are due, because blackboard will say one thing and she will say another.
Dr. Lorenz is a great professor; she was very easy to get in contact with after class. It's not difficult to get good grades in her class if you try just a little bit. She hands out a lot of bonus point options in the beginning of the semester. She is really interested in hearing student's opinions on the topics that are discussed in class.
She values what she teaches and wants you to succeed. She can be a tough grader if you don't know how to use proper grammar.
Very passionate and educated in their course material. Weekly homework graded strictly on grammar and correctness. Lecture heavy using slideshows and videos. Absences can affect grade. Overall good educator, but the class material did not interest me.
Dr. Carol Lorenz overall is a good professor. She is forgetful and unorganized sometimes, but she truly cares about the students and is willing to work with you if you need help. A lot of her class is mainly lectures, and exams are online. No phones during class and proper grammar are two very strict rules of hers and she takes them very seriously.
Overall she was a decent professor but there were several things that made her class quite difficult. For starters when doing her assignments you lose far more points if your grammar isn't perfect rather than if the content is correct. And her lectures can be quite difficult to follow as she is far from consistent when she lectures.
She is really tough when it comes to grading your schoolwork. There are times when she can be brutally honest, but I just recommend not taking it to heart and just getting through the class. Aside from all that, she is a really sweet lady and can be understanding of personal issues if they do occur.
My professor was very straight forward about how she wanted the work to be done. She assigned a lot of work. She take attendance seriously, more than 12 missed classes you fail the course. She was a reasonable professor. She smiled at least once a class. She also did not play when it came to grammar
She is an outgoing teacher. The classes are lectured based, but they aren't boring. I had no problem in the class, and there is a lot of extra credit which is nice.
She gave three field trips with papers to do on all three; you have to pay for your admission. Save your money and take a different teacher. She gives lots of extra credit and her lectures are fine, but she goes off on tangents and gets distracted.
Overall a really easy class, however I wouldn't recommend if you don't enjoy watching videos/documentaries in your free time.
Overall, the class is very easy. Gives lots of extra credit, take all exams online with a week-long period to do so, homework isn't extensive or difficult. VERY big stickler about cell phones and misuse of laptops (not taking notes). She will keep you the entire class time, but never a minute over. A little high-strung but generally respectful.
It might have just been a new style of teaching for me but it was just difficult to get through the class most of the time. She honestly made most of the class feel less than. I'm sorry if I'm the only one who thought this. I'm not saying she's all bad though, she is very passionate about her career and really wants us to learn about the arts.
Professor Lorenz is tough but if you really want to learn it should be a pretty easy class.
No phone policy, easy class you just have to show up.
She cares about her students and wants them to succeed in her course. But I do not agree with a lot of her teaching tactics. She care more about misspelled names than the actual information we are learning and I think she wastes a lot of class time trying to sort out field trips when there would be much more efficient ways to organize a field trip.
Overall, she is very passionate about the information that she is teaching. The assignments are straightforward and her grading feedback is clear; however, she is very strict on grammar. Additionally, there are lots of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. You can tell she cares a lot about wanting her students to learn.
This class should overall be an easy class. But, her unclear teaching and constant going off topic makes the class very hard to keep up with and understand. She swears her directions are clear when they are all over the place. I will say there is a lot of extra credit opportunities which is cool but doesn't make up for the professor.
assignments are relatively easy, but she is very picky on certain aspects. I do feel that her religious belief is pushed onto students every so often which I don't think is appropriate. overall as long as you pay attention it's an easy class, just do as you're told.
Overall a positive experience, but I wish there was more structure. Class often felt rushed and crammed to fit everything in.
Idk if I would or wouldn't recommend her. She grades grammar super harsh but besides that her hw is easy. Very very annoying though and spent a whole class period talking about Charlie Kirk?? Sends lots of emails and takes long grading but was easy for the most part. Got an 88% overall
I felt that I didn't learn much in class, and I learned most of the content in the homework assignments. She is a very tough grader regarding grammar and spelling. Some of the lectures were all over the place because we would jump from topic to topic very quickly. However, all exams were online, and you had almost two weeks to complete them.
Professor Lorenz is a great teacher, she teaches with lots of energy even if she doesn't feel 100%. Her classes are very lecture heavy and towards the end of the year she uses videos for things like opera and dance. You will have a term paper and a written final, its a bit much especially balancing with other classes.
Was hard to follow because she just made the assumption that we were all experts with the Bible. She called on the same student everyday, I felt bad for him and she also called out students and quizzed them on their ethnicity, assuming she knew their heritage, you could tell this made them uncomfortable.Sends out too many emails that get confusing.
Very knowledgeable.
She overall is a very good teacher just can be really strict when it comes to certain things like having your computer out during videos or her even seeing your phone.
She was very harsh with grading, especially with grammar and writing. Even though, the class was not a writing class. She did not let us have phones out, which was not a huge deal. One thing I think she could improve on is how lecture heavy the class is. Overall she was not a bad professor, she just was not easy to go to and ask for help.
Dr. Lorenz is a good teacher if you follow her rules: no phones, laptops closed during videos, and stay on task. Her tests are easy with unlimited retakes. My only issue was inconsistent info about trips and papers. Overall, she is very passionate about what she teaches, she's also an easy A if you pay attention, but expect last-minute changes.
Dr. Lorenz is clearly passionate in what she teaches. However, grammar and syntax must be perfect or she will dock points. The assignments are not difficult and the tests are easy, as you get unlimited attempts. She will also never end class early and attendance is very important.
Carol Lorenz was a good teacher. Her grading was tough at times, but she does explain each topic very well. It's a very easy class as long as you take notes and have good grammar. I enjoyed her extra credit, to I did learn a lot from it and it brought up my grade. I do wish her assignments had better videos, so we actually learn more from them.
For starters, Dr. Lorenz knows her stuff well. The majority of the classes are lecture-based. The assignments aren't hard if you just do them and grammar-check everything after. Participation is a major factor. She does hand out extra credit, so take advantage of it. I do wish that some information on the slides had been cut out since it wasn't on.
Assignments are pretty organized and laid out for you. TOUGH grader. Tests are pretty straight forward
She lectures the whole time. Very confusing lectures because she jumps from topic to topic. Doesn't understand how to use technology at all. Very unorganized. Despite this, She does give you time for tests which is respectable.
She was very enthusiastic about the course material and presented it in an entertaining way. She despises phones and doesn't like it when students use laptops for anything other than taking notes. She threatened laptop checks multiple times but never followed through. I still saw plenty of my classmates playing games and watching YouTube.
Dr. Lorenz was a great professor. You could really tell how passionate she was about what she taught. The class is pretty easy, with plenty of extra-credit opportunities. The emphasis on grammar is a little overkill, though. Make sure to triple-check your grammar and formatting, or you will lose major points. Overall, she's a great professor.
She is a kind woman and really cares about her students. She struggles a bit with the university's technology and does grade a bit harsh, but overall she means well.
She is very kind and passionate about teaching Humanities. The class is a lot of work compared to other core classes especially for someone not interested in the subject. That being said she surprisingly made a very boring subject interesting and you can tell she loves the subject as she goes very in depth. Great teacher.
Carol Lorenz was a decent professor. She is very understanding when it comes to homework deadlines but not so understanding about mistakes. she does NOT do email! She grades extremely harsh on anything you write. She can get off topic but she's passionate about her job. make sure to show up and be in your seat. She does give lots of extra credit!
She is very kind, but strict. She gives a lot of assignments the paper and final exam at the end of the semester is no joke.
She has a very strict curriculum and flies through her presentation slides during lectures, making it difficult to try to take notes. Other than that, she is nice and loves it when you ask questions and find interest in any of the topics discussed in class.
Professor Lorenz, demonstrates a genuine passion for her subject, which is evident in the way she presents the material. Her enthusiasm keeps the lectures engaging and prevents them from feeling monotonous. She also offers many opportunities for extra credit, which greatly supports student success. Overall, i recommend her as a professor.
Very good teacher, she explains things very well and is very interesting with her lectures.
She is a good person but will be tough on you so be prepared during class time.
