I had her for english in the summer. She is the best at delgado. She made writing fun for the class.

Ms. C is a great teacher. She is funny too which is good cause english is boring to me.

Ms. McCarthy is the BEST English teacher I have ever had. She is tough on you and rarely hands out A's but when you get them they are well deserved. I'm upset I can't get her this summer since she's having a baby but seriously she's an amazing teacher and hilarious. Plus, she looks like Natalie Portman!

Took Intro to Poetry and Drama online during the summer. Every week we would have mandatory discussion board questions and a quiz. Quizzes and Mid Term/Final exams were all essay based. Two essay papers were required. Ms. McCarthy expected assignments on time and didn't accept late assignments, but she was very fair and kept the class interesting.

Great teacher took her summer workshop. She will not be easy on you bur she will make you a great writer.

Ms Carol wants us to work hard. And she don't allow late work.

Be prepared to work. I felt that she was a little nit-picky, but that's what an English class is. My writing absolutely blossomed under her instruction. You will work in this class, but you will learn a great deal as well.

She keeps class interesting. Mrs McCarthy is passionate about the material. Honors English 101-1RA was the best class I have had at Delgado so far

Mrs. McCarthy's online class is one of the best online classes I have taken. She responds quickly to emails when I had questions. I thought she graded hard but at least she reads the papers and gives feedback. I will take her 102 class when I can.

Tough grader. She gives feedback that is helpful but she won't edit your papers. I wish I had her the first time I took this class. Take her if you are serious about learning and can do the work. If you slack, or if you don't meet deadlines, it's your own fault. Trust me. I barely passed because I slacked off.

I took this class for Honors 101. I loved this class! We did a lot of discussion with some debate. She really respects opinions. The writing lab is a must! I got A's on all but the one paper I did not go to the wring lab for, basically. She had told me to... She is always welcoming if you go see her during office hours.

I enjoyed having her as my teacher for this semester. I feel that her feedback was really good. I am usually terrible at writing and I put my all into it this semester. I feel very confident after taking this course. I would take her again.

Great teacher! Gives great feedback on papers. As long as you do every assignment on time and follow the rubrics, you will have no problem with passing. I met her in person and she is really caring to her students.

Great teacher. Provides time during what would be your normal class times to meet with her to discuss your papers so you don't have to find time during her office hours. Reads over your papers and directs what to correct. Funny and entertaining discussions in class.

I loved having her as my English 101 professor!! She gives amazing feedback, allows an amount of time for rewrites, and gives entertaining lectures!! 10/10 would recommend! Take full advantage of the Canvas tutor she makes you use!!!!!!

She's very good and very helpfu. Take advantage of the NETTUTOR it's a very helpful tool. She wants you to do well, she's available to help. Do the work and put fourth effort. You have to work for you grade but she gives a lot of videos and reading material to help make everything clear. I took this class online, glad she was the instructor.

She corrects me on everything, leaves lots of room for improvement. I would be willing to take her again.

Really great 101 teacher. That's all I can say. I'm taking her again for Engl 102. Uses rubrics. Returns papers in a few days with feedback. Fast at returning emails and calls you if you ask her to.

I took her online class the semester before last. I am just now writing a review because my English 102 teacher wasn't great, and it really made me miss Ms. McCarthy! I plan to take her again in the future for her other literature classes. She is helpful, fair, and easily accessible if you have questions.

I am taking her online class now. She offers a lot of help with papers and tells you everything you need to make it better. She's really nice, too. Her class is very organized and better than other online classes.

If you aren't willing to work for your grade, don't bother taking her. If you don't mind earning your grade, you will do fine.

I wouldve got an A if I would have done the extra credit she offered but I was quite overwhelmed with a&p. But overall shes a great professor. DO NOT TURN IN ASSIGNMENTS LATE. Unless you have a really good excuse she will not accept it. If your having trouble just message her. She cares about her students but you have to do your part too.

Professor McCarthys online Fiction class is a must! Her course is extremely organized is spelled out for you. The discussion board is great. Students show respect for each others interpretation of stories. There are weekly quizzes and discussion boards. Unfortunately there are two essays to write (I hate writing essays!). Great class!

one of the best teachers ive taken for english. take her class online! while taking her class make sure you use the book to read examples of essays and also make sure your in the writting lab to help with papers as well! you guys will not regret taking her

Professor McCarthys English class is not easy but you will learn a lot. She answers emails quickly and called me in a few occasions when I was stuck to help me think through an idea. She uses rubrics so her grading is clear. Take her! Dont turn things in late though and use the online writing tutors. You will be a better writer because of her.

I took Ms Carols class and learned so much. We read poems, do presentations & write papers. A lot of group work but class was fun but hard. Im taking English class now and I miss that class I took with her. Go to her office hours.

I absolutely LOVE Professor McCarthy. Her lectures are outstanding. She explains everything so clearly for anyone to understand. I love how organized she is! She really was the best professor I've had so far.

Clear deadlines and able to work ahead. Fast grader. Do the discussions as soon as possible and make sure to reply to others for full credit. Five papers, last one is your final. It was great to write the final paper and be done a week or so before other classes had finals.

I took Ms. McCarthy for the winter session course and it was difficult because of the time constraints (uh, 3 weeks for one semester class!) I am happy I took the class with her. She answered emails very very quickly, and actually TAUGHT the online class with videos and lectures. She uses grading rubrics so there are no questions about grades.

She is by far the best English teacher i have had. She is very understanding and gives wonderful and easy to understand feedback on assignments. Be aware that participation is big with her. Lots of peer communication. Definitely would suggest taking her especially if your like me and not such a good writer.

Professor McCarthy is an absolutely incredible instructor. She is organized and gives clear instructions on every class assignment. She encourages the use of DCC Writing Lab as well as Louisiana Homework Helper. I have a disability and struggle in English Composition and i still received an "A" in her class. I highly recommend her.

I took Professor McCarthys class during a mini session. Her online class is extremely organized and she sets clear guidance for grading. She does not accept late work so stay on top of it. She responds to emails quickly. Definitely take her class in the mini session!

I took this class online for the fall semester. She gives clear instructions and deadlines. She was available to answer my questions through email and phone calls if you ask. Her class has specific days (Sundays and Thursdays) when things are due so there are no surprises. Take her class! Youll become a better writer.

She is a good proffesor , she want u to pass and she encourages you to join the writing center a lot for her assignments and essays . she give tutor review which is for extra credit that made me pass her course . remember to always pick a topic very easy for you and one that u are familiar with . Absolutely loved her class! She does weekly emails/videos explaining the work for the week. Shes very clear of whats expected. Though the papers she gives are kind of long she makes it very interesting topics to write on. We did three papers, and weekly summaries. Literally the easiest A if you put in the work!

I enjoyed Ms. McCarthy's class. It was an accelerated 8 week program and I thought she did great with pacing and content. She was very approachable, patient, and graded fairly. I built confidence with my writing. I'd recommend her class for sure.

Professor McCarthy was such an understanding and caring professor!! While taking her English 102 class, my area was hit by two hurricanes on top of me contracting COVID. I emailed her right away and explained all of my issues to her and she worked with me closely to make sure I finished the course!! Would definitely take her again!

She is kind, engaging, and super responsive. There is enough work to where you feel like you earned your grade but not so much that it is overwhelming. As long as you put forth the effort and do your assignments on time you should be fine. You would have to try pretty hard to fail but the class is interesting so it keeps your attention.

Ms McCarthy offers multiple ways to learn through her videos and lectures in this online class. Its like a regular class so expect to watch lessons and take notes like a regular class. 4 essays total with citations. Her class isnt hard if you do the work and meet with the tutors. I learned a lot.

If you take her during the short semesters, be prepared to work for your grade. Good news is that Mrs. McCarthy grades assignments very fast. Her papers aren't that hard but use the writing tutors because they catch things you need to fix. She does not accept late work (and she mentions this 1000X times). Not even quizzes can be turned in late.

I've taken Ms. McCarthy twice and each time I've noticed that she grades fairly. The papers assigned are controversial and force thoughtful thinking. She's understanding of situations that may hinder performance. She won't give a grade, but shell show you how to earn one.

I took her class as a high school senior and she was amazing. She was very caring and considerate. She has hard deadlines and does not accept late work. Make sure to participate! Wasn't a hard class at all!

At first, I thought I was going to fail. It had been years since I'd been in school, but Professor McCarthy gave me the inspiration I forgot I had. It is a lot of work to be a prerequisite for English, but it's worth it.

I would 10/10 recommend Ms.McCarthy. I did every assignment but couldn't finish strong and yet still passed with a B. I had days where I turned in some assignments late, but she'd still grade them w/o taking off points. She's caring if you really do your work and put in the effort and communicate with her. I would definitely take her again.

Ms. McCarthy is a great teacher. Stay on top of her work and follow exactly what she says to do and you will pass. Do not try to get over, she is very specific about what she wants and how she wants it done. I enjoyed her class.

Professor McCarthy's online English 2 class is well organized and she is very quick to get in touch with if you have questions. I learned a lot from her class about arguments and MLA quoting. I recommmend taking her for both English 1 and 2.

the best professor ive had at Delgado. class was super easy. materials are easy to learn. I took 1/2 semester and wrote 3 papers. she was very helpful in the writing journey! she wants to see you succeed as long as you try. easy to communicate with! definitely worth taking!

I took Engl110 with Ms. McCarty and her class was not too difficult. I took her online class and she had students connect on zoom. I enjoyed meeting students in the class. It was not something I did in other online classes. She had 3 major papers and we could fix errors for a new grade. I highly recommend to take her in the online class.

Ms. McCarthy is a phenomenal instructor. She cares and she sees her students. The reading material is relatable and interesting. I found there was enough time to complete the writing assignments. What I really enjoyed was class discussions and working in groups. Attendance is mandatory. I wouldn't recommend skipping.
