I learned a lot in Mrs. Merchant's class. I did not know a lot about computers like some others in the class did. She was always willing and available to give me extra help. She never made feel dumb because I didn't understand.

Mrs. Merchant was the most caring teacher I have ever had. She would spend extra time working with me. I'm a single mom and she made me feel like I could accomplish anything. I really enjoyed her class.

I took this as a summer class, so I had to really work to keep up. Mrs. Merchant is a great teacher. She was always available to help.

The only problem with this class is. If you aren't fast with computers and following her you will get lost! I watched a lot of the older generation struggle tremendously in this class cause they couldn't keep up! But it was perfect for me.

Mrs. Merchant is a really good teacher. I would recommend this class to someone that knows very little about computers or to someone who wants an easy class. You learn a lot and if you show interest she will go the extra mile for you. I would not buy the text book though, get the code for SAM and you should be fine.

I came back to school after 20 years of being out. Mrs. Merchant gave up her lunch time to help me after class. She really wants you to make it. Be sure and come to class everyday and take good notes.

I love this class, its absolutely perfect if you are already basic computer savvy. Now if you're not, be prepared to go huh throughout the whole semester. My class has people who are past the age of 30 and they are struggling badly. Professor Merchant often has to stop teaching us how to do something in order to help them. But I love her class!!

I took her class online, she has a very clear grading structure and plenty of time to finish assignments. She is very supportive and cares about her students, just stay ahead of the assignment due dates and it's an easy A! Highly recommend her for ITSC-1305 online

I totally disagree with the previous post. I took this class this semester. Mrs. Merchant was great! Class was more difficult than I first thought, but not impossible. Work was steady, but had plenty of time to complete it.

Prof Merchant was an excellent teacher. She did have some technical issues with Testout, but she kept everyone informed and even moved the due dates to the end of the semester to accommodate for the technical issues. The final was 1 question and incredibly easy! Overall great professor and a great class. I highly recommend her!

Hands down best class I have ever taken. Professor Merchant is the sweetest teacher and everything was given upfront. Do the work you can finish early and she very understanding if more time is needed on an assignment. laid back but still cares overall.

Great and caring prof. Been taking online due to Covid. Im not a huge fan of TestOut, the program she uses, but its manageable. Sometimes it doesnt give you the info needed to due the labs but people have uploaded how to do them on youtube. Id only do this class if you plan on doing something involving computers. Otherwise, pass.

Adored this class, and ACTUALLY learned from it - It's as if she's adjusted regular learning into entertainment. Most important, there are many tests/quizzes to solidify the unit's lessons, and getting there on time is crucial to understanding the daily tasks, most of the lecture time was silent assignments. She's great, I highly recommend her!

Absolute gem of a teacher. Uses all the proper channels to somehow teach really well despite not being very difficult. Only complaint was that her use of canvas was a bit wonky, but it was well worth that little inconvenience for one of the best classes I've had so far.
