Hard tests, unclear
Dr. Miller is a good solid instructor, but fails to flourish her information with enough sparkle to keep the students attention spans. Personally, I had an easy time with her class but it was very uninteresting.
She is dry, but her course is very interesting.
Easy teacher but dry and old fashioned. She still teaches outdated facts. Very nice though.
Attendance is irrelevant - come for review days, print out notes from the online assistance site, pass test with an A. Goes over content during review VERY clearly and VERY accurately. Tells you exactly what you need - awesome.
Yeah, dry and old fashioned definetly sums her up. I think she's a pig farmer or something... Anyway I recommend her if you just need an easy A and don't care about actually learning anything.
Her tests are very easy. You definetly should get an A in this class. She's very nice too.
VERY,VERY,VERY, DULL. Every minute hearing her voice was torture.
Dull, dull, dull and um dull. But it is extremely easy--especcially her final (she basically told us not to study for it). So, if an entertaining teacher is what u want, look elsewhere. I completely agree w/ the guy saying her voice was torture! But i must say, she is a very, very nice lady.
You don't need the book in this one. Study her online notes and sample tests and come to review days. She is helpful to the point of telling you what to exactly look for on tests.
Excellent instructor! She gives you everything you need to know for her tests. Highly recommend her for both EUH 1000 and EUH 1001 courses.

zzz, extremely dry humor, never finishes her jokes, not sure what thats all about.Study online notes,if ur using fin. aid check to see what dates instru.take attendance and show up only for those days, read online notes and study old tests-you'll be just fine.her entire class everyday is lecture VERY BORING.no homework assignments--ONLY TEST GRADES-
She is a little boring but her class isn't difficult. She is also pretty tolerant. I'm taking her agian so I think that really speaks for its self
Ok. Boring. I really do want to fall asleep everyday or just get up & leave. I HATE history and this class makes it worse. Lecture everyday, no homework, one paper. Keep in mind that you final grade is 3 TESTS and 1 PAPER. That's it. SO if history isn't your best subject, this might not be the teacher for you. ;(
She is a very nice lady. Her test are right from notes. Her class is very easy.
OK...I really hate history so no matter who I have it with it's gonna suck. But let me tell you this has to be the most boring class I have ever takin in my life! Everyday I just want to leave half way through (and many of her students do leave)! Everyone has a pretty decent grade so it is not that hard. But it about kills you!
EAsy test.Gives you exaclty what is going to be on the test when she reviews. The lectures are hard to understand though.Hardly show up for class.Just come in the day before the test to get the review and you'll pass.
What a loopy teacher. If you like history, you'll love this class. She puts all of the notes on blackboard so you don't absolutely need to go to class every day (you should though). All of the tests have practice versions online that she pulls a lot of answers from. The class isn't too hard and definitely interesting.
The hardest teacher I have taken soo far. She is soo boring with her monotone voice. If you don't go to class and pay attention to her lectures you will fail. She gives you notes and questions and sample tests, but that's not enough to get a good grade on the test. You have to study for hours just to be a B even on her tests.
She is a very sweet teacher. Her class has sparked within me an interest in history which I never before had. She is extremely helpful, and seasons her lectures with overheads, film clips, and music selections.
Great teacher, you have to study in the class but if you study you will make a good grade. Attendance is not mandatory and she has an interesting voice, like from the 50's. I totally recommand taking this class if you can. Its pretty easy!
It was sometimes very difficult to pay attention in this course. She is very calm and has a smooth voice. She's very pleasant.
I really enjoyed this class. The tests were a bit tricky.
she was pretty easy. It's not mandatory to attend class, but it's helpful. gives you sample tests and goes over it class before test.
i took her for EUH1001andEUH1000. class isn't mandatory, but go for tests and the day before tests for the review. class is kind of boring, but i learned a lot. she really knows what she's talking about, will answer any questions.i'd suggest taking her class (do study guides, you'll pass the test) READ HER NOTES and tests will be easy. she's great.
Pretty easy class. Make sure you come to class for the review days. You dont need the text book, she keeps all the coarse info online, she gives pratice tests online too. I learned alot, very good teacher.
If you study the notes she puts on blackboard you'll do great. I hardly went to class and studied the notes and passed easily with a B. Shes rather boring but cute.
Easy teacher, kinda boring but easy. Go to class and you will have every answer for the tests.
Not too bad. There was no text book use, and most of the text questions were pretty clear. Although she does not offer much in terms of extra credit, and her make up tests if you decide to take that route are off the wall. Starts out kind of boring, but it's okay.
UMMM, Well, if interested in history, you'll love. she covers some topics from a different and unbiased point of view. Strays off topic occasionally but highly detailed notes are provided. no textbook purchase required. a valuable class indeed.
Interesting class and a nice teacher!
Good teaching and very descriptive.
Kinda boring but shes cute. Tries to relate what shes covering to modern stuff. Attendance not mandatory. DONT BUY THE BOOK. Puts all study guides and a sample test on blackboard. Tests are relatively easy as long as you review. I'd say take her for an easy A.
Very good teacher, she explains everything, and tells you whats important to know. Four tests, got a little harder at the end, she offers study guides and a sample test for each test, nothing for final though. I hate history but her class was good.
Missed a few times. But she's understanding and helps in any way. She even answers questions RIGHT before a test. Also, show up early on review days and she sometimes gives extra credit for the test. You can get an A studying just online guides and tests she posts right way before the test. Too bad I can't take her again. The time is just too late!
Took her for EUH1000, and passed pretty easily. If you want an easy class, take this one! I only went to this class about 3 or 4 times in between tests and got all A's (except for my C on the Final-I slacked off). Still got an 93.5% A in the class. All the notes are online so you barely have to go. Nice teacher too, good and easy class. Take this!
Took her for both sections (1000 & 1001) She is a really good teacher and explains things clearly. She makes you laugh sometimes with some weird things she does but it keeps the class entertaining. She gives you a study guide for each test. READ IT! You will pass everything test. Attendance is not mandatory but i would recommend going to class.
Awesome instructor! I have a different instructor for EUH 1001, and I wish I had her! I am not too fond of history, and she made it easy to understand. I wish she was teaching B session this summer. :(
Hands down, one of the best History teachers at the school. I enjoyed her class, she didn't try any mind games with testing. Everything was clear and she was funny too. Great class!
Dr. Miller knows what she's talking about, and she enjoys doing what she does. The class is centered around tests for most of your grade, so taking notes on her lecture for the whole period is really nice. I'm hoping I have more classes like Dr. Miller's.
Loved her! She is always in a good mood and enjoys teaching. Test reviews consist of her giving all the answers to her study guide and practice test. The test questions are almost identical to them. I loved her and planned my schedule around her next class just to get her again.
There is no organization to her lectures so notes are scattered but she does have a lot of knowledge on the subject. Attendence is not neccessary just print the study guide and show up for the review the day before the test. There is a semester project that's worth 30% of your grade but don' worry she is not a strict teacher and is very laid back.
I loved Mrs. Miller. her lecture notes are kind of scattered and confusing but if you show up to class, do the study guide, and read the textbook you will ace all her tests! Great professor and very sweet!
She knows what she is talking about, so if there is ever confusion you can just ask her. Good teach.
Ms. Miller is a very good teacher. She really knows what she is talking about. You do not really need the book. Tests are not that hard, but you have to study for it. She usually asked about 6 questions that needed to be answered with about 4 sentences and about 30 multiple choice questions. We also had to turn in one paper.
I loved her class, she really knows what she is talking about. She's kind of corky and a little weird, but super nice. You have to come to class though or you'll be lost. As long as you take good notes the and do the study guide and actually study it the tests should be a breeze. You also don't need the book
She knows her stuff but she is all over the place and sometimes is confusing. She doesn't give extra credit but she gives u a study guide with every answer and old test with answers.
easy but you have to go to class. she is very laid back in her lectures but strick on her grades no extra credit.
Great teacher! She doesn't require that you come to class. You don't really use the textbook. I went to class everyday and took notes-but that's it and I got an A in the class. She is quirky and funny and I loved her class!
She is a great instructor. She goes into great detail about everything she knows and is honest about what she doesn't. She gives a sample test for study and uses many of the exact questions and answers on the real tests. She provides all you will need to pass with flying colors, but studying is important. It's a lot of information.
Dr. Miller is a very knowledgeable history professor. One time 2 students were cursing one another out in the middle of lecture and she said, " no that word came much later" refering to the F word. It was hysterical! She actually asks questions during lectures, which really helped me keep my focus. Easy tests, study the guide you will do fine.
Really easy class and a helpful professor, gives study guides & sample test before every test and they help a lot...at times i never even took notes and still passed by what material she provided right before the test...She made me start liking History which i used to hate the most..I would definitely take her for all my history classes if i had to
great teacher the test are both short answer and multi choice she keeps things interesting just study for the test the study guides help but know the material.
Nice lady good lectures. test and essays are not to bad. she is very fair.
Dr. Miller is the best, I wish she were my grandma. The only history teacher I know who doesn't lie. She went over the crusade with Richard the Lionheart just because I showed interest in it. She knows her stuff and isn't afraid to admit when the sources may be questionable.
I really enjoyed this class, after the first class attendance isn't taken, and if you do the study guides there's almost no reason to fail a test and she reviews the whole study guide the day before. I enjoy the lectures and if she taught EUH1001 next semester I'd definitely take her again!
I love history. Ms. Miller was a kind, sweet lady, however I got so bored in her class that I kept not showing up. I feel bad saying that, because she is nice, and she is fair, but my brain was as in tune with what she was saying when I was there as when I wasn't. Not showing up= not doing so hot. I have a high C and it could go either way.
History can be a bit boring. However, she tries her best to keep you engaged by asking questions and making a few jokes. Only one paper, no quizzes, four tests and final exam. She gives about 3/4 of the answers to exams, butthe others will require YOU fact find! She's fair...which is all I really ask of an instructor. Make use of her office time!
Great teacher. She is fair. 4 tests and 4 SMALL writing assignments. Follow the study guide and you will at least get a B. Her tests can be tricky sometimes, but if you take your time on it you will do fine!
Mrs. Miller's class is easy enough if you attend every day and fill out the study guides she provides. The only problem is that the class is pretty boring, and she doesn't take attendance, so it's up to you to muster up the willpower to go.
Her teaching method is horrible if you don't like listening to long lectures. She will usually write a keyword on the board and then talk about it for 10 minutes and you have no idea what to write down after her long rant. On review day she just read the questions on the guide and did not give any answers or help until a student called her on it.
This class is the hardest class I have ever taken. She is one of the most boring teachers out there. It might just be a preference thing but I do not enjoy long lectures that are bland. Her "pre-test" don't match the real test. She is super sweet but this class is difficult. Don't buy the book.
Dr. Miller is very fair and kind. Come to class and pay attention and you will get a good grade!
I really like Ms. Miller. She's a quirky lady and a bit strange, but really nice. The last test I did,I did really well on the short answer but not on the matching, and she offered to make me a unique test with ONLY short answer and identification. However, don't buy the book unless you plan on not going to class, her study guides are all you need.
She tells you a story about history. If you can listen carefully and write down as much as possible about what she says it is an easy A. She gives a good study guide and goes over it the class before the test. Some people only attended the class before the test and still received a good grade. I Did use the book.
Mrs. Miller is a great teacher. Her lectures were interesting and easy to follow because she told them like a story. Her class is easy as long as you fill out the study guides and know everything that is on them. You also have two short papers (like 1 page) that aren't graded hard at all. Am taking her again next semester! Loved her!
Dr. Miller is a good teacher. She could be confusing at times but ask and she helps. Long lectures was not my thing but come to class you'll ace it.
Dr. Miller is a sweet heart by far.But she could be a bit confusing. Her class is based upon 4 test, and 2 paers, and a extra credit assignment. You'll do fine only if your interested.
incredibly scatter-brained D: I would not recommend this class EVER She's pretty chill, but not that great as a professor
If history is not your thing and you're just taking this class because you have to. this is not the professor for you! she has 4 test which she only takes 10% of your lowest grade. you also have to write two papers that aren't really graded hard. but her lectures go ALL OVER THE PLACE AND IS HARD FOR YOU TO KEEP UP FROM THE STUDY GUIDE.
Dr. Miller is nice and funny and she wants to help her students pass. Her lectures do take up the full hour, but it's worth it. She knows her stuff; hardly ever did she reference her notes during lecture. She tells history like a story. 2 papers (easy grading) and four tests (slightly more difficult grading). Will let you retake your lowest test.
Dr. Miller's lectures are stories. If you are interested in the subject, it's a great course. With that being said, if history is not your niche, stay away. She can be very confusing and you must show up to get a good grade. If you want an easy A this is not the class, however if you want to learn some interesting stuff go for it.
Here's the deal, Mrs. Miller is a really nice, well mannered lady and she knows her history and is highly passionate, however with that said, sometimes it can get boring with her lectures because she gives you a lot of unnecessary info. there's only 4 tests and 2 papers and it makes it tough to pass the class so if you take her, the best of luck!
I took her for both western civ classes. her study guides are the test and she goes over them and answers any questions the class before a test. if you are having a problem with the multiple choice test she will give you a short answer if you ask early which is what helped me. and she keeps thing interesting.
Dr. Miller is a solid teacher. She follows her syllabus closely. Tests are hard, but much easier if you fill out the study guides she provides as you go along. That is KEY for success. You write a few small papers which she grades fairly. She obviously enjoys her subject and it shows in her teaching. Would rec. for sure. Enjoyed it.
There were four tests totaling 90% of your grade, and these are very hard and long tests with a very wide array of subject matter from 4 to 6 different chapters a piece. She does provide study guides for each of her tests, but these guides average around 15 pages with very specific questions that don't seem match up to the questions on the tests.
Don't take this class unless you like unclear lectures, misleading study guides, and a very unhelpful teacher with no feed back. She's crazy and doesn't care for the student. Try ask her a question and expect no words, a smile, and blank stare. I signed up because of the positive reviews on this site, but found it to be all false. Dont take this!
Just took a test and am super upset about it. Her pre test, in class review does not match up with her tests. She basically told us that blank will be on the test and literally nothing she said was on the test. The most scatter brained person I have ever seen. Good luck taking notes. She starts sentences and doesn't finish them. Would not recommend
Very confusing lectures! Print out the study guide and fill that in while also recording the lecture! That's the only way to pass. Her practice tests are also helpful, they give you an idea of what will be on the actual test. Somethings may be changed, but not too much. She goes on tangents and sometimes does not seem to have a direction.
I enjoyed the class and the professor. Heavy Lecture basis, so class attendance is important. Material is easy to understand and she is clearly passionate about the subject matter.
Not a good teacher. Her study guides are very long and specific, but none of the info on them appear on the tests. Her lectures are all over the place. She doesn't provide help when asked. Makes comments leading to infer that we are dumb. She makes you feel stupid when you don't know something. Her assignments never make sense and are boring.
If you go to the lectures and study like a student should you will pass. However, her lectures are boring and long. Two history papers are assigned and were a breeze because she is an easy grader and had to minimum length requirement on papers. Just go to class, take notes, and study you will pass. Doesn't take attendance.
Would not take this class again. Her material is very unclear. Study guides don't line up with the tests. She even emailed me and told me it would be a good idea to drop her class when I was passing. she's not very helpful when you ask for outside help. Is rude and sarcastic when you address her study guides that have nothing to do with the test.
The study guides could be better aligned with the material on the test. Easy writing assignments which end up helping overall grade. She will help you especially if you show that you're doing your part to keep up with the class. It's history, so prepare to do a lot of reading.
Very boring class and very boring professor
Prof. Miller is an awesome teacher. Very laid back, when you do the work, and is very cool and funny. If you want to enjoy your history classes make sure she is your professor.
Her class is easy! It is a bit boring to sit through but heres the key: print the study guides before and do it while shes teaching!! Its the best way instead of not knowing what to take notes on! She tells you the written responses before the tests word for word and grades easy!
Her class consist of lectures & powerpoints & she does go fast but she puts them up on canvas for you. She tries to make the class fun by adding in a few jokes. With the test, she gives you the answers for the short response so if you write them down and learn them you're good. Also is very understanding when you're sick and miss class.
Her lectures are so extremely boring and she is so monotone, its hard to stay focused and interested. Western Civ is a subject I otherwise really enjoy, just not coming from her. She rolls her eyes and shakes her head and laughs at students when they are needing clarification. Would never ever ever take her class again.
I liked her a lot as a person- she's a sweet and passionate old lady who knows a lot about the subject. Grade based off of 4 tests, 2 essays and one assignment. Got a 97 on the final but a B in the class, so you really have to study for those in class exams. Overall would take again.
HORRIBLE PROFESSOR FIRST CLASS I HAVE EVER FAILED BEFORE. DON'T TAKE HER UNLESS YOU HAVE TIME TO RETEACH YOURSELF THE THINGS SHE "TEACHES" IN CLASS. THERE ARE 8 GRADES IN HER CLASS FOR A 16 WEEK CLASS 5 ARE TEST AND 3 ARE ASSIGNMENTS. TEST ARE 20 PTS EACH AND ASSIGNMENTS ARE 2-4PTS. IF YOU ARE NOT A TEST TAKER DO NOT PICK HER AS YOUR PROFESSOR!
She's a nice teacher. The class has study notes but she usually will put in a revised one and goes over that in class the day before. She goes through quickly so don't skip, but she's straightforward and nice with answering questions. Makes the lessons a bit more fun with trivia and jokes but the class is test heavy (grades quickly).
Carol Miller is a very sweet lady! However she is a very tough teacher!!!!! Everyday is a lecture... which can be very boring. Also her test can be difficult, so definitely study! I recommend taking her though bc other AMH teachers at TCC are more extreme than her! Definitely recommend, but get ready to work! (Study & youll be fine) & do the HW
Dr. Miller does a great job teaching this course, there is a writing aspect but she makes it very easy. Exams are very easy if you went to class and did a little studying. The book is not required, but it can help you when writing the papers or studying. She is a great teacher, you will not regret taking her class!
I love Dr. Miller, I took her two semesters in a row. One of the easiest classes Ive taken but also one in which I learned a lot. Shes very smart and knows a lot about history. The only grades were the tests, the final, and two essays due at the end of the semester. Attendance wasnt graded. Shes really funny and a good professor!
Terrible. None of the stuff on the study guide was in the test. She makes me feel stupid when I ask questions and she laughs at me. She says our test scores out loud to the whole class. I would never take her again.
