This is the most difficult teacher you will ever take!!!!!!!!!!!! IF you want to be an English major take her class, but otherwise you may be in for it.

She has high standards for your papers. I bet your first paper that you turn in, will have so much red ink on just the first paragraph. Don't even bother buying the book even though she says that she will check to see if you are using it. You wont use it.

it sucked, the workload was hell, and she grades very hard...expects alot, gives out a ton of homework. you learn something, but she drills it into your skull..you get the point. its alot of work. but if your into it...its cool. i wasnt.

Dude her class was pretty hard but to pass with an A all you need to do is pay attention, do your work, and work hard. Everything she teaches becomes very helpful for all English classes to come. DON'T GET ON HER BAD SIDE IF SHE HATES YOU SHE MIGHT POKE LOTS OF FUN ON YOU.

She's hard, but a very good teacher. As long as you pay attention and do the required work, it's easy. If you write good papers, she'll love you. But don't get on her bad side. I recommend her. She forces you to learn the material and it will all come in handy in the future, trust me.

She is really boring and treats her students like they are in elementary school..

Mrs. Miter needed to address most of her students at Kindergarten level because a majority of them acted as such. I didn't care for English, but I love it now thanks to Miter. She is fair, helpful and accessible via email. If she taught Eng 1A, I would take her class. Highly recommended! I worked for an "A" and received an "A". Good teacher!

At first I thought Miter was very harsh and a little confusing. She changed her mind on the assignments a lot. If you are willing to work very hard then you will get a good grade. Just be ready to take a beating from criticism, if you can use it to better your writing she is a good teacher for you!

She is very strict and harsh! We had something big due almost every week. But when I talked to her about my work, she gave me tips and suggested a good tutor. She really wants you to be great at english. I learned a ton!

If you are a busy person, don't take her hybrid class. She is a good teacher, but if you don't ask for help and don't follow her directions, you will get a poor grade.

i think miter is hard but i think she is a good teacher. i learned a lot in her class. she doesnt expect anything less then the best and if someone is just going to write a paper 20 min before class she will know. she is a hard teacher and the work is time consuming. i really felt that i learned a lot in her class and i wish she was teaching 1A.

Best teacher of all time. She will work with you if you want to learn. She opens your eyes to how the coprate world will be. If your idle and not ambitious, then this class is not for you. People says she's mean because she pushes you to be better and people just want everything easy.

At first, didn't understand her. By the end of the semester, I really appreciated her. I didn't realize how much I had learned untill the end of the class. She could be a little better at explaining what she actually expects from a lesson, wasted class time on explaining what was expected after the assignment was given.

Carol's class is only what u make of it. Her lessons are straight forward, but if followed according 2 directions u will do well. She helps to build a foundation for your college education not only in Eng. She is a compassionate teacher whose main interest is to help students be successful in Eng, school & the real world. Carol Miter is the best English teacher that I have ever had the privilege to learn from. Yeah, her class was tough as nails, but it got easier because I applied myself. All of these nasty comments are crap. They are pure lies and garbage. CAROL RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tough Professor, but really does have the students' best interest in mind. She is very easy to get ahold of and is always willing to help. Tough grader, but gives good comments on how to improve.

Mrs. Miter is the best instructor I have had in my many years of school. She tells you what is expected and will help whenever you ask. I learned so much from her. Wish she were teaching the other English classes I still need to take. She is a fair but firm instructor. If you really want to learn, take her class.

Overall, she was a very good teacher. I actually learned a lot from her class. She is very strict on grading but that is a good thing since it prepares us for higher college courses in the future. Let me just tell you something procrastinator beware this a rigorous course so be prepared to work hard.She is very fair in grading.

I had Professor Miter in 1995 and went on to receive a MA in English. She taught me most everything I know today. People complain about her because they want an easy ride. She is excellent!

Carol is AMAZING. I emailed her and asked for advice she sent a huge email back explaining what i needed to do to become successful, not only that but went above and beyond. CLASS is hard, BUT life isnt easy if you want to have an amazing life then you must put forth the effort! CAROL you are amazing and you have taught me so much! thank you!!!!!

Amazing professor!Her work is easy you just have to pay attention to directions. if your schedule is that busy, you obviously don't care for your education. and if you ever forget anything just simply talk to her. she always has extra copies or is willing to let you turn in your HW later. I would choose Carol if she taught 1A.

Great teacher if you want to learn.

Carol's hybrid english 50 class is quite difficult- if you're lazy. She warns you right from the beginning, if you can't handle all the work, then the class isn't for you. The work that she gives isn't even difficult. She explains, in full detail, what to do and how to do it. There's really no excuse not to get a decent grade in her class.

Lazy people beware; this class requires work! I wish Carol taught 1A, great professor. She wants you to be successful, but that is up to you! Following directions is key to passing her course. Lots of reading is required, but all the stories have purpose and open your eyes. First Eng. professor who actually taught something, thanks Carol!

I would definitely take her again if i could. Yes she repeats alot but she does it so you will remember. Work with her and she will work with you. however if you skip class more than once or twice with out valid reasons she will drop you with out hesitation

Carol Miter is an amazing teacher. Not only was she a their ought teacher but she taught and inspired us to be better people. Every class was a fun and new experience to learn English in a different way. Her techniques and style is simple, yet complex. If you ever need help, she's more than willing to give you a hand. Treat her right.

Carol was by far the greatest English professor I've had the chance of being taught by. She's a tough one, expects a lot from her students, but she genuinely cares about the outcome of her students success. She's blunt and will not hesitate to put you on the spot, so if you are a bit on the sensitive side, you will not enjoy her as a teacher.

She is a tough grader; however, if you follow the assignment guidelines correctly then it will be cake. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Do not skip an assignment. If you are a good student you will enjoy this class; if you are not then don't bother taking it.

I took her class during the Spring session. It is a Hybrid class, so attendance is a must! Starts of tough in the beginning but def calms down towards the end of the semester. Prof Miter cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Pay attention, do the assignments, and you will be fine.

Took her hybrid Eng50 class. Attendance is a must. The class is easy if you put enough time aside to read and study. Would take her again if I could.

I really did not care for her at first but it all comes together. You will be very prepared by the end of her class!!!

Carol cares about you if you care about her class. Every negative reviewer is just lazy, unmotivated, and looking to earn an easy A with minimal work. If you got a bad grade for your writing, guess what? You probably suck at writing! And you need to improve! I was very motivated in the beginning but slacked off in the end. Still got a B.

Mrs. Miter is a good professor. She cares about her students' success. The class was tough but you have to show up and do the work of course.

If you show up to class and pay attention to the details it is not as hard as others describe. I am not a great writer but I tried and I talked to her before and after class. She is tough but cares if you can follow directions you can pass her class. She is trying to prepare students for the real world, no handholding.

The first couple weeks in Carol miter class I was having second thoughts about being there I didnt have a good feeling about her just the way she was and the way she did things but once the weeks went by I knew I couldn't have had a better professor I'm a better writer because of her. Give her a chance she'll win you over.
