Dr. Quinn is an awesome professor. She's very willing to help you with any work and is very easy to talk to. She understands what you need to grow in English and will help you evolve.

She a very cool teacher. Gives alot of papers but they are esay. Attendance does count and is always given out extra credit. Takes points off for being late to class. Loves when people come to her office.

Theres intense and theres Quinn-tense. She obviously loves what she teaches or she wouldn't be so exsited about it. She will help you if you ask, but sometimes I still felt unsure what she wanted from us.

The best teacher I ever had. VERY helpful. Just drop by her office if ever you need help with your essays. Show up in class and turn in the essays on time and you're done.

I was scared of college, but carol made what would have been an awful semester a great one. One of the kindest people i've ever met. She's usally lenent on due dates and will give you as much help as you need if you see her during office hours. She's very entertaining. I wouldn't say she's easy or hard; it depends what you want.

Professor Quinn is one of my favorite teachers ever. She really helped me become a better poet. She made the class interesting and got everyone involved. She also made the classroom really easygoing, so we all felt comfortable talking with each other. basically, the best class i have ever taken :)

AMAZING Teacher!!! You must take her if you can! Easily reached and very clear with her directions. She also does not give a Mid-term. Her final is the same question as you will do first day of class. Awesome teacher! Sometimes have class outside. XD

GREAT TEACHER!!! The class is solely based on writing. Don't be intimidated because she explains how to do the work she gives. She is always avaialble during office hours and if you can't make her office hours, she work around her schedule to make it convient for you. She is great and when she taught she encouraged feedback. Do not go into this class thinking it will be easy. When I compared notes with others who were taking the same class but with another instuctor, nothing was the same. 3 essays all semester but are required to sumbit 2 versions of each. She is an extremely tough grader. Be prepared to work hard for a lower grade than you expect, but beneficial

She's awesome. Really helped my writing, and if that's what your looking for she's the one you should go to. Class attendance is mandatory but the classes are fun and social, so they go by quickly. Like all the other comments here she does truly care for her students. A few essays, you have workshops so you get to miss class!

AWESOME PROFESSOR! Take her. People complain about two versions of essays etc. There is 5 essays total. 1 and 5 are in class-first day and the final. 2,3,4 are throughout semester and you get to do a first draft of all three that's only 10 points so you can get help before your final paper. 311 is Writing Poetry. Right away, you can tell she's into the class and wants you to write and write, which might sound bad but its not at all. We had 5 poems due, 2 of which could be revised and resubmitted for a better grade, plus 4fun writing. Her big thing with this class was attendance and participation. Peer feedback was a big part of class.

The nicest teacher you will ever meet! You can tell by the way she teaches she's really interested in the subject. Homework is short and easy. Always willing to help with assignments. Gets the class working together with peer reviews and class discussions. Final was an essay, which is fairly easy.

What a great class! There was a lot of reading but it was interesting. You will have to do a lot of research but it makes the final paper very easy. Carol expects a lot and has high standards but is very helpful in helping you meet them. She is also incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about folklore and this makes class fun and exciting.

I learned a lot from this class, but much of what was on the exams was not taught in class. The stuff we actually learned was way more fun than the exam material

I really likes the workshop in this class. You really got a good critique of your wiring and many times we had very intense conversations. Might do a pop quiz at the start, but its a easy class if you love to write poetry.

She does pop quizzes, so READ the chapters that she assigns. The quizzes are not hard for the most part, but the she can tell when you did not read. Her final and midterm are hard to study for!!! I know it sounds scary, but this class is bearable. You will have to work for your A and you will be better at writing and researching scholarly sources

Encyclopedic knowledge of literary works. Will make the utmost effort to provide you with the criticism and guidance necessary for you to become a competent writer and thinker. If you're looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. Read the assigned material and hand your assignments in ON TIME. Will give everything she's got to see you prosper.

Tough class, I would avoid it. Quinn is a good professor but this class honestly isn't worth all the work

You have to work hard to get an A in this course. You have to work hard to get a B. She does want you to do well, and offers office hours frequently as help. I struggled with the course, and Im glad that it's all over. READ the text and start the annotations and paper early. If you pay attention and read the final and midterm aren't too hard.

This class is tough, definitely not an easy A, but it's worth the work you have to put in. It's super interesting, she is always willing to help, and is really funny if you manage to get her to talk about things other than folklore. Love her, definitely take her. And do the reading!

Loved this professor! She is such a sweetheart and will do everything in her power to help her students succeed. The class requires a lot of work and reading, but she is always available to speak with during office hours. She makes folklore interesting and if your willing to do some work, take this class! P.S. A genuinely nice person, very interested in the class and wants to see you succeed. If you have a class that engages her in conversation you'll never get a quiz on the reading. Put in work for the research project because that's about all you have to do in her class besides a midterm and final.

Definitely didn't think I would need to work hard on a gen-ed poetry course, but I'm glad that I took it. Prof. Quinn is a challenging professor but is extremely smart and quite funny. Midterm in class. Final is reviewing 5 peers poems. pretty fair.

Ms. Quinn is AWESOME. This folklore class is challenging but REALLY interesting. You'll have to work hard, but, it's college. So you should always expect that. She'll do anything to help her students succeed and is very fair.

Quinn is a really great professor. She seems to know something about everything! Her assignments can be tough but she is very helpful and seems genuinely interested in what students have to say. I wish I had time to take her again, her classes are the kind that you look forward to.

She was great. She discussed my papers w/ me before they were due. I'm a working mom, couldn't meet w/ her during her office hours, so she met w/ me @ other times. The only time she changed the grading scale was when she only gave 5 quizzes instead of 10 and converted the rest of the points to pure participation. Do the reading and you'll be fine.

This was an honors course, and the grading was difficult. But she is very helpful and gives good feedback to help improve your writing. For all essays, a draft is due first which is helpful because she tells you exactly what you can do to improve it. The class itself is pretty boring, but overall a good class.

She was willing to discuss paper topics and help generate ideas. Overall grade is broken into so many different percentages it's hard to know where you stand. Two tests consist of identifications and two essays. One final six page paper.

If you have the chance, take her class. This woman is a saint.

Professor Quinn is one of the most dedicated professors at Towson. If you're complaining about having to do reading every night, you need to GROW UP! This is college--not preschool, anymore. If you can't hack it, get out. Prof Quinn will help where she can, but you have to earn that A. Stop whining about having to do presentations and take quizzes.

Nice enough professor, who clearly cares about her subject. She takes forever to grade assignments, though, so I wouldn't recommend her if you need timely feedback. She will help you, you just have to ask. All about office hours.

If you're a broke college student, don't take this class. 4 books plus hundreds and hundreds of printed pages. I only got through half the printing for 1 assignment until my printer told me it was out of ink. Bright side- collects peer reviews and quizzes but grades harshly *Just don't expect to come out with money and an A- pick one*

If you love politics, this is the professor for you. If not, STEER CLEAR!! The whole curriculum is based on politics. She is very clear in what she expects and always offers office hours. Every paper is due at midnight but she will except them without penalty as long as she theyre turned in by 8am the next day. You can make up absences too. Not bad

You have to print the poems, stories, and plays the other people in class send to Blackboard. If you can't do this, let her know. She'll bring you copies.

Carol is a great professor to take if you are very interested in politics but also if you don't. You learn a lot of different things in regards to politics. You have to write 4 essays and with each essay is an extended essay to add more info. She doesn't grade the class at a 100 level but if you take her class serious, you'll become a good writer.

Professor Quinn is an extremely hard grader and has high expectations for all of her students. I thought she was too intense for an introductory english class. However, she really pushed me to challenge my weakness. The class required a lot of writing, peer revisions, and extra meetings with her. I worked hard and ended with an A-.

Professor Quinn was very laid back and easy going. The course is designed to give you the most creative freedom, and you can choose any topic for each of the four writing assignments. There were "pop quizzes", but the reading quiz dates are listed on the syllabus and she gives reminders of when they are to come.

Before coming to this class, I thought I knew everything about writing. i was wrong. Carol Quinn will teach you techniques to greatly improve your writing. If you take this class seriously, you WILL become a better writer. This class won't be an "easy A." But take this class, if you want to improve your writing skills. Dr. Quinn knows A LOT.

We studied everything from the evil eye to Japanese folktales to the blues. I got to write a final paper about Maori tattooing myths and techniques. Great class! You've got to do the reading, but not too hard.

Dr. Quinn is one of the most eloquent, intelligent professors I've ever had. It is evident that she has a passion for what she teaches. Always happy to have you in her office to work over essays and papers.

Quinn is amazing and I would highly recommend her for ENGL 190 on Love and Rhetoric. You need to read the books but the class discussions are great and very insightful. Gave me a new appreciation for literature and she makes the boring content fun and interesting. The final paper is pretty tough though but she's always there to help

Professor Quinn is my favorite professor i've had at Towson so far! She cares so much about the topics and her experience in the field is obviously. She does a wonderful job connecting with students and makes her class one to look forward to each session. Highly recommend!

Dr. Quinn is easily one of the most intelligent educators I've ever met. Her knowledge encompasses a wide variety of topics, especially politics and public issues. If you're not a fan of discussing politics, avoid this class. If you're in for an excellent learning experience that will challenge and improve your writing skills, this is your class.

You have to do the work & attend class to get a decent grade, but the assignments are well balanced (PPT Presentation), midterm, final, & paper with op for EC pts But, if you pay attention in class, and build study guides from the list of terms and folktales you can do pretty well. It is a lecture, but she always does her best to involve everyone

This was not my experience of her class at all. She was my English 499 thesis advisor and a very generous reader. She was always inventing new assignments and finding new readings for me, always offering feedback. She really cared about my thesis and wanted it to become a book.

Her passion for literature makes you care about the class. She gives amazing feedback and is always available during office hours unless she notifies otherwise.

She really helped me through a difficult semester. My writing changed a lot in the past four months. Do all the readings. Look up the grading abbreviations. Go to office hours. Be prepared to work.

Dr. Quinn is a fantastic professor. Her class is no easy A, but she gives great lectures and really cares about her students. She made herself available for help outside of class, and gave good feedback on my papers that really helped me write my final research paper. The assignments given don't have clear grading criteria: it's very open-ended. Despite this, I still usually got B+/A- on all big assignments. She is extremely understanding and will work with you if personal issues affect your grade. Gives you the chance to improve two big works for a better grade. Allows you to make up absences. Love her

Dr. Quinn is intimidating, but extremely nice and wants her students to succeed. This class is not an easy A, but if you put in the work it will pay off. Reading is heavy and class time is usually spent discussing the books we have read.

Prof. Quinn is definitely one of the better professors to take in the midst of a pandemic. She is really nice, her assignments are very open ended, & she allows you to be creative. On Election Day (before we found out who won), we used the entire class to just talk about how we were feeling, it was so needed & I think she knew that. Def take her :)

She is very respectable and very intelligent. She gives feedback in the most positive way that actually makes you want to become a better writer. She is also very understanding of her students. For example, for people that are very introverted, especially during these times, she's understanding for sure.

Prof. Quinn was a chill teacher. You could walk away from your computer and she would still be talking. She talks a lot but most of it is relevant to the class. It's awkward when she calls people out on their bs in the middle of class. She gives really good feedback on poems and gives suggestions on other poems that could relate to yours.

Professor Quinn is very eccentric. She loves to talk and not so much about the reading material which I thought was great because I never did the reading. Her class is graded by a few things: presentation, final paper thesis, final paper, final essay, annotated bibliography, and participation. She is kind of unclear with her grading so good luck.
