She's a horrible woman.
Grades very unfairly. Favors students. Way too much homework.
WORST EVER
poor excuse for a college instructor
unclear has her favorites, same things over and over again
Learn more in this class than any previous. She is tough but effective.

unstable--Belongs at McDonalds!!
hard material but she will teach you. She will help if you ask. Knows her stuf
she's tough but clear, she was always helpful to me.
Hard, but knows her stuff really well. Always helpful when I asked.
Goes the extra mile to see her students succeed.
Hard work, but very rewarding. Great prof!
Very understanding to personal situations and/ difficulties. Knowledgable.
She is very helpful! If you don't believe that, you haven't asked for help.
Don't listen to those who want to be spoon fed. She is a great prof.

The best prof I've had yet. Learned a lot.
Great Professor - Need not say more!
This is not a popularity contest. She is a great professor
if you are lazy you will hate her. work hard and EARN your grade. great prof.
Just thankful I didn't get Ishaak
Might be teaching business, but no clue about it in the "real" world.
Does NOT belong in education.

A poor educator, perhaps the worst!
Moody! Not helpful
No! No! No!
SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING!!
Acts rude to individuals, but fakey nice to groups. A BAD woman and teacher!
Rude/academic not practical. Not a very nice person. BAD teacher.
Uggggh! RUN!, do not walk away!!
Visited in office - NOT helpful, a lot of work, RUDE, avoid her at all costs
Take this prof over Ishak. Okay workload, but that is expected from a graduate course.

Lots of reading, but graded papers generously. Take in the summer for reduced workload.
Participate a lot; use the readings in your papers and in discussions; it doesnt take much research to impress her, but it takes none to kill your grade; take it in the summer
don't be lazy...
knows subject
There is definately a lot of reading! Be prepared to write at least 6 papers.
Class is pointless after midterm b/c no final exam. Case studies are ridiculous. Group project is too long & complex for the amount of time she gives you to present.
For an int'l course, prof has severe negative stereotypes about other cultures. Also seems to have unfair biases towards certain students. Isn't real friendly to talk to for help either. Makes you feel you are wasting her "valuable" time.
Group project bites! Expected to know everything about exporting- she tells you nothing but asks hard questions @ presentation. You are expected to follow her ways- just accept what she says as "fact" until class is over.
Sure, the class is challenging - but if you are looking for the "easy" way out, you will never make it in business in this day and age. She knows her subject and is always willing to help.
i took this class with her last year, I thought I was the only one feeling the "bias" against other culture..but it is certainly true. She seems to have traveled places, but her thinking fits into 2x2 box.She is not fair.don't take her.whatever.
Not helpful when you ask for guidance. Exams were extremely difficult to complete in time given.
Really fair, and very helpful. Hard grader on certain parts of your papers, but usually only one or two parts. Lets a lot get by. Test are very long, but not too difficult, the final was tought though, make sure to have real world examples ready for every exam question!
Good Teacher! Tough grader on papers and gets upset if the class isn't participating. Make sure to do the readings- there is a lot of it. Also, she makes everyone participate and will call on you- be ready!
She is very biased against cultures other than hers, which is ironical for a professor emphasizing international business???????????
This tiny woman has the ability to intimidate anyone! She is very arrogant and will totally bash you if you say something she doesn't agree with. She thinks that she has all the answers. Her tests are all essay..so study! Lots of readings...but overall easy class. Just boring. And yes, be prepared to be called on. She prints out name cards.
This class is crazy. She is a tough grader and is extremely bais. Only her answer will due. This little woman is scary when she glares at you with those judging eyeys. Know Hofstede like the back of your hand by the end or else! Particpate or she will get angry at the class. Avoid her if possible, she is not helpful or nice.
She is extremely knowledgeable and prepares you for the real business world. She is a fair grader and has high expectations. The final is a group project, get a good group. Go to class and participate, she keeps the class on their toes. Excellent prof, take her if you're serious about your education!
Lots of reading, lots of work, and not an easy grader. That said, she is still a very good Prof. and worth taking. It sounds like the class format and requirements have changed based on conversations with other students. She mixed our class up with guest speakers, and other activities, which kept the class from getting boring.
This was a very interesting class and she really tied in all aspects of business for the capstone. This is my second time having her and she is a great prof! The cases were pretty intense and her essay exams can be hard but just take plenty of notes and read the book. You also need to partcipate in class because she'll call on you.
Takes attendance, but misses class herself. TONS of extra reading. Calls on everyone in class. Assignments are ambiguous and she grades hard- if you don't absolutely knock her socks off you're getting a B. Don't get on her bad side- she's very defensive of her opinions and does not like to be disagreed with.
Completely disorganized, schedules speakers that have nothing to do with class in order to mask the fact that she has no lesson plan. A ton of reading, relentless expectations of students. And if you don't know the answer when she calls on you in class, she ridicules you in front of everyone. Useless class, useless prof. Avoid if possible.
Dont take this professor.
She is very knowledgable of international business and has a lot of experience. She expects you to be prepared and is a hard grader, but helpful if you need it. Only had one test, finals was a group presentation.
Prof. Sanchez is a great teacher. She pushes students to think for themselves and defend their opinions. She is very bright and down to earth lady, would take her again. It was the most interesting class I have taken at GVSU!
Lecture was mostly on PP that she keeps to herself and then tests on the book and on the PP she doesn't provide you access to. Her Quizes are straight out of the book. She rips through your case studies. Not too many office hours. Some times rude when you ask her questions. Very knowledgable though.
Professor Sanchez challenges her students to think for themselves. All professors at Grand Valley should have the same teaching philosophy that she does. The class can seem a little intimidating at first, however you will walk away with a lot of useful knowledge. She is one of the smartest and best professors at Grand Valley.
Difficult and not very fair at grading but I did learn alot. Can be a bit harsh but also helpful. A good class overall, just must be willing to put in an excessive amount of work outside class.
She tells you what you were supposed to write for an assignment after the assignment is already due. She calls on you out of nowhere but if you don't say what she wants, she will stare at you and treat you like an idiot. She also makes you feel dumb when you e-mail her and ask her questions. DO NOT take her.
Very knowledgeable on strategy, learned a lot in the class. She is a very tough grader though and projects require more than an extensive amount of time. Overall, worth all of the effort. Would recommend to hard working students.
The class is very paper intensive, but overall if you follow her examples online you will do fine. Class discussions are interesting and can help, but don't say anything unless you have the data to back up your claim. Overall, she gets better as the semester goes on.
Classes are like meetings; she is your boss. Grading is tough on papers, be happy if you get an 86%.
Worst teacher I've had at the university. She does nothing but play mind games with students, unwilling to help and is very abrasive. She will make you feel stupid when asking a question, but get upset when you stop asking them. The first teacher I ever felt like writing to the dean about. Stay away! 1 positive guest speakers are good.
Definitely the hardest class I've taken at Grand Valley but also the most beneficial. Her knowledge and resources will definitely help you in the real-world. She is very specific and clear in her expectations. She's also very helpful, but you need to have a specific question in order for her to answer. Don't skip class and definitely come prepared!
Professor is extremely condescending to students and fairly rude in general. Cant say I learned very much in this class which is very disappointing considering the amount of reading assigned. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR IF POSSIBLE!
She is one of the worst, aggressive teachers I have had at GVSU. I would do anything to never see her again.
Prof. Sanchez is tough but she is one of my favorite professors. She will give you great feedback if you ask for it, but she can come off as mean but she's really not. She actually helped with getting a job after graduation. She's extremely respected in the community so get to know her and she will help you out. Work hard and you will do well!
I've never taken a more difficult class. She expects way too much, and she can be fairly mean, so don't mess up.
If you like to do research and to solve puzzles, or would like to learn how to do that better, this class is for you. It is mostly based on business memos and presentations. No exams. Yes, she is a bit intimidating and demanding, and will challenge you over and over again, but you'll learn so much. One of GVSU's best professors in my opinion.
I thought the capstone would be a nice way to wrap up college. I was very wrong, she gives you some form of homework after each class. Grades very tough and then tells everyone they won't be prepared for work after college. She needs a major attitude adjustment and will call on you when you doze off to her boring lectures. Throw your semester away
Definitely best professor I ever have. You will learn a lot from her class. Come to class and be prepared.
Good prof, but hard. Her grading criteria are often confusing. Take her if you must but definitely not at the top of my list!
one of the worst profs ive had at GVSU. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE AND TAKE HER. FOR ANY CLASS. she is an insanely hard grader and bombs you even when you do exactly what she wants. shes rude and insulting in her grading notes. rude in class and just a really unpleasant person to be around. youre never right. youre never correct. shes the worst.
There are several memos which she grades based on her opinion, if you're not on her side, you're wrong. Also assigns readings from two different books, you better read them too because she likes to cold call in class. No tests though which is good. I'd recommend a different professor for this class.
Unfortunately she is one of the only options for MGT 495. Just be warned that this class (Carol in particular) will suck out your soul. If you attend class and keep up with her insane amount of work, and don't mind getting roasted by your professor every class session, you'll be fine. If you have any health or learning issues though.. get support.
She is the WORST prof I have had while at GV. She doesn't care about her students AT ALL and is not helpful when you don't understand something. She quizzes you on information from the book before any of the topics are even discussed in class so she really doesn't teach you anything. Memos are all based off of her opinion, which is unfair. AVOID!
Class is tough because you have to write some really comprehensive memos. But no final exam in test form. The final is a group project presentation and it's not terrible. Prof. can come off as abrasive but she is actually very helpful when you ask for it. If you hate tests, take this class - but know there is a LOT of writing. Quizzes open-book.
She makes you earn your grade. If you try and ask questions you can succeed. 5 memos, not including a practice one. Group presentation for the final. 5 quizzes, all on quizlet lol. Show up every class and you'll be fine
Dr. Sanchez is a hard grader but a decent person. Ask as many questions as you can and visit her and office hours and you'll be fine.
Dr. Sanchez is one of the best professors I have ever had. That being said, her class is not at all easy. You are expected to do high quality work, and if you don't she gives specific feedback. Have learned more in 495 than any other management course at GV. I repeat, not an easy A class. If you truly want to learn, you will not be disappointed.
Very strict attendance policy- even if you're excused 15% will be taken off any assignment due the night before (even online). Outdated lessons, most cases are from 90s or early 2000s and the focus of the class is on memos (up to ten pages). There are several 5 point assignments that take 2 hours to complete. Grading is subjective.
Extremely specific criteria for assignments that she changes constantly, often exactly the opposite. Leaves many students confused at their grade dropping after we did exactly what she said to do. Likes to ask questions in class and then berate students for guessing, has such a specific answer in her head at all times that nobody knows.
Im by no means struggling grade wise in the class, but I've never had a teacher who makes attending class this dreadful. She expects everyone of her students to remember literally everything she says, and if you forget anything you will be shamed in front the class. Have two long group assignments, a quiz, and multiple articles to read each week.
In the first two weeks, she seems nice and then she gets real mean. She comes off extremely rude when grading papers and memos. She wants them a certain way but gives very very broad instructions. If you liked getting yelled at, going over your wrongs for the first hour of class, and not learning anything, then this is the class for you!
Worst professor I have had at GVSU. She belittles students for asking questions and tells you to figure it out for yourself. When submitting papers get ready to be reamed on as she shreds your work every submission even if it is an B+ or A- paper, after reading her comments you will feel as if you completely failed. Guidelines are always unclear.
She is so obsessed with being right that it detracts from her ability to teach. The whole year you will work on a project for a company in GR. Even if the company thinks your group did an exceptional job, you will still get marked down heavily for things she doesn't agree with. I would not take her class if you have any other option.
Useless class you have to take, fake research project you have to do, and she will always give complaint that you didn't do things rights.. There is 6 quizs, and she said we will grade only for the 5 quiz that we got the highest point, but she will give you 0/20 for the one of the quiz and said she deducted one. Wrong, and you can do anything
