She is a good teacher who cares a great deal about her students. The classes were not difficult--because the material was presented well. Her colleagues try to tear her down because of her popularity and the fact that she does not do much research.
She makes good use of examples. She seems to know what she's talking about. I probably made over a hundred in that class, so I loved it.
Very explanatory. gives multiple choice tests that are easy if you study.
Easy grading, multiple choice test with partial credit, no one should fail her classes.
GET DR STRONG! I had her for physics III, and I only wish I had gotten her for the previous classes. Interesting experiments, multiple choice tests w/ partial credit, and you will understand the material when you are done.
Excellent teacher, teaches everything in the best way possible and knows her stuff inside and out. Very nice and caring. More like a friend than a teacher at times!
The very best for physics. She is a must take.
Dr. Strong is great!
Everyone likes her. The mc tests are great. If you guess C you get like a 55 no matter what. Homework sucks, but the solutions are easy. Would take again. Oh, and she reads from the book.
The best. Makes it plain and simple. Classes are just too large to get the most help, but really isn't needed. Study hard for the finals though if you want to keep an A.
Wonderful teacher. If you ever need help, you can just go by her office. I've had her for like 4 or 5 classes, and I have enjoyed them all.
Absolutely amazing teacher! She makes physics clear and easy to understand. I was dreading taking this course but Dr. Strong made it quite enjoyable.
She is a pretty good teacher and pretty easy too.
extemely helpful teacher, if you attend class regularly and do the homework, you should have no problem doing good in her tests. her tests are fair and easy if you study. makes me want to be a physics major. BEST TEACHER I HAD IN UAH.
Although it's not the easiest class, Dr Strong is very helpful and very clear with everything she teaches. Took her for 111, will take her for 112.
Extremely overrated. I feel that I would have benefitted more from an internet correspondance class. I also found her very unhelpful and even offensive at times. As for teaching...you learn to memorize equations that are pre-derived.
I don't know what's your problem. Dr. Strong is very helpful. She helped me with an ENTIRE assignment that I once had until I had finished it totally. That's a sign of a good teacher who actually gives a darn about the students.
Dr. Strong is a really great professor. That was really the only class I looked forward to attending. She brings mini-experiments to class to show you how the physics works and gives sample exams to practice with. She also works many examples and will help you as long as YOU ASK HER.
Best of the best. Makes physics as appealing as possible and is passionate about it. Doesn't BS either.
pretty much what everybody else said has been true. very straightforward, gives sample problems, and sample tests, and the real tests are even partial credit for multiple choice. if u need to take physics, take her!
very good
Blegh. nice teacher but the class was extremely boring, would much rather have taken it elsewhere
Physics is a hard subject. But Dr. Strong is one of the best teachers here at UAH. She is an expert on the subject, and her tests are multiple choice where some of the answers will get you partial credit - make sure you answer each question. If you have to take Physics, I recommend Dr. Strong.
As tempting as it is, do the online homework and don't cheat otherwise your test grades will drop.
Good as always.

One of the best teachers I have EVER had in my entire life. She is very smart and made me love physics even more than I did before.
Brilliant woman, but her lectures were useless to me. She's a Doctor. I'll believe what she says. 90% of the lecture is her deriving formulas, which is useless. Test material was hard but partial credit on a multiple choice test is awesome.
she knows what she is talking about. her lectures didn't help me much. multiple choice tests with partial credit. online hw sucks. if you ask questions she answers them. pretty good teacher. i would recommend.
I've heard she's over the heads of most beginning scientists, but I thought she was great and very clear. She'll help you as much as she can outside class, too. She's interesting and nice, and of course brilliant. She's also pretty funny. It's nice to see a woman in a "man's" field, too!
Dr. Strong has a very interactive teaching style despite the fact that her physics 1 class had 180+ students. Her tests are multiple choice and you get partial credit. The homework was only 6 questions each section and you have many resources for help. She is very clear and concise.
Partial credit on multiple choice tests are a lifesaver!
Dr. Strong is definitely an invaluable asset to the University. The connection she has with the students, whether Physics majors or not, is unparalleled. She is clear and concise in class and won't allow shennanigans that distract from the general learning process. She is always happy to do 1 on 1 teaching. I highly recommend Dr. Strong!!!!!!!!!!!!
She's funny, makes great use of several example and gives partial credit on multiple choice tests. There is no better physics instructor in this school.
Dr. Strong makes physics really easy to grasp. If you do the homework she assigns and go to class you'll do just fine and you'll learn a lot.
Probably the best prof at UAH. I have never enjoyed learning so much. She's not a push over. Do your homework and you'll be just fine!
Very cool. Partial credit on tests saved my grade.
She was a good teacher but she did not explain the equations at all. It was not always clear how she derived curtain equations. Was not clear at all on exactly what to do. Tests were great on partial credit but were nothing like what I studied. When you would talk to her in her office she some times made you feel stupid. I did well though.
Dr. Strong is a good teacher, but it's difficult to pay attention in that huge classroom. Test questions are similar to her practice test questions. She also gives partial credit on multiple choice questions. Homework is online and is easily done if you have the solution manual. You can probably do well by simply studying the practice tests.
I really had a hard time with the material in this class. I got in grade trouble in the middle of the semester because i slacked off. I went to her office and have never had a teacher help as much as she did. She also gives great partial credit on tests. I really recommend taking her class.
Dr. Strong is an awesome physics teacher. Homework is online, no limit on tries. Tests are multiple choice with partial credit on some answers. She teaches clearly, and is defenitely not boring.
I wonder if Dr. Strong actually teaches anything. She certainly gives the student the illusion there is some teaching, but I think that at the end of the day her teaching is at a very very low level. I compare her classes to what I hear from friends at other colleges, and I think she is really bad!
Dr. Strong is a great teacher. I really understood her lectures. She had practice exams for every test and the tests were multiple choice with partial credit. The only problem was the homework since it was Wiley online.
She is a very good teacher who encourages questions. I had not taken physics in high school but she explained the material clearly and I caught on quick. The worst part is the homework but it is due online only once a week and if asked she usually extends it a few days. I would definitely recommend her.
Best teacher I've ever had! I had her for both PH111 and PH112. Her lectures can actually be interesting b/c she's funny and has a good personality. All tests were multiple choice with partial credit. I did the practice exams about 3 times before every test and aced them all.
I decided to wait one semester before taking physics so that I could take the legendary Dr. Carol Strong. It was well worth it. I had her both PH 111 and 112. Physics wasn't offered at my high school and I still managed to get A's. Amazing lecturer.
Dr Strong is the best. but i will say her class is challenging, you will work for your grade. her tests can be pretty hard, she gives hidden bonus and will usually hint at a derivation that will be a bonus on tests. She will help you all that she can if you dont understand anything
I really didn't learn much in this class, but you can get by if you memorize her practice exams, do decent on the homework (which can sometimes be very tough), and show up enough for class to get your required 30 quiz points (about 60 are given through the semester). Very helpful and friendly.
I had Strong for PH 111 & 112. You know the drill, tests are multiple choice w/ partial credit. (Amazingly, this doesn't guarantee passing grades.) DO the sample exams, don't just look at them. Do all of the homework, but don't stress about knowing it; it's much harder than test problems. I admit, I learned very little and made A's. She's very nice
She's pretty clear about what you'll need to know for the exams. Go to class and study what she says and you should do fine.
Very helpful prof. ! Go to her office and she will help you!
Overall she's a great teacher. I would suggest taking physics 3 during the spring or fall however if possible. I took the summer session and she decided against multiple choice exams, which made it MUCH more difficult. Don't hesitate talking to her, she is more than willing to help.
Had her for physics 1, 2 and 3. Sit up front, pay attention, STUDY, and you will learn a lot! I would recommend reading back over your notes the most from class lecture. Lectures show you how to use the equations, but the homework will require you to really know them. Tests are easy and similar to study guides. She is VERY helpful in office hours.
Great teacher, tests are graded very fairly and the material isn't too hard. Very helpful when approached. The online homework was absolutely terrible though - something to just suffer through and get over with, without actually learning anything. Work through the sample exams and you will do well on the real exams!
Any of her classes are worth taking. Great instructor who really cares about what she teaches and who she's teaching. She's very clear, and grades more than fairly (almost always has something to boost your grade)
Strong is an amazing professor. The class was very frustrating at times, but she is the kindest professor I have ever had. Her tests are challenging, but she gives you plenty of partial credit for common mistakes. The only down side to her class is the awful online homework program.
The single best professor I have ever had in my entire university experience. I hope that UAH is smart enough to keep her around. She is a real treasure of the science dept!
Great teacher. Will do what she can for the students. Really, genuinely cares. This is the instructor I want every chance. Great personality, really is willing to be a friend of the students.
Dr. Strong is a wonderful teacher. Take her if at all possible even if you dont need physics.
Great Teacher! Definitely cares about helping students understand the material. She gives plenty of study material for tests as well as partial credit for close answers. Overall A+
Best general physics teacher onsite at UAH. Gives good notes and works sample problems, and loves to use in-class physics demonstrations. Also is big on embedding extra credit into tests as well as including a bonus problem.
LOVE this professor. Gives a lot of credit for homework and clicker questions, and is extremely helpful with any problem you may have. She does sometimes teach over your head a bit, but its very easy to pick up on if you spend time in the material and do the assigned problems.
Great Teacher. Always willing to take the time to make sure you understand the material if you take the time to see her during her office hours(which are always right after class). Has required homework's due for each chapter that can be done at anytime, but she post the solutions online. Recommend you don't look at her solutions if you want an A.
Well, had Dr. Strong for PH 1 and 2. Honestly, I didn't really learn anything except that you can guess on her tests and still get a B in the class. If you are really into physics and want to put in the effort to actually learn the material, Dr. Strong is a good teacher. On the other hand, you can easily pass without really learning anything.
Fairly easy to get an A with a mild amount of work. She posts solutions to the homework online . Her practice tests (with solutions) are very similar to the real ones. Your own effort is required to actually learn things but you can make an A without paying much attention. Very good physics teacher to take, helpful and easy.
Great Professor. Uses multiple examples to ensure the student understands the concepts being taught. One of the best teachers I have had so far at UAH
Best teacher in the physics department. Extremely helpful and she works very hard to ensure her students are successful not only in her classes but throughout their college career.
She gives you sample exams and the solutions to the homework. The only way you will fail this class is if you don't attend or absolutely do not understand the material. Unfortunately, it is a large class so you won't get much one on one time with her.
STRAIGHT UP!!! ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS UAH HAS TO OFFER. Just do ALL THE WORK, SHOW UP TO CLASS and STUDY for her test and you will actually LEARN PHYSICS! A++
Best physics professor period. Don't take anyone else
Dr. Strong was a good teacher. Her tests are a lot easier than the lecture, so if you get a little lost during the lecture, don't feel bad. She gives a lot of extra credit and provides sample exams. Easy A, really. Just show up and somewhat understand what's going on.
LOVE Dr. Strong so much. She was the one who encouraged me to do what I wanted to do and one of the main people to help me figure out what I want to do after I graduate. She's so freakin nice, so funny, such a great person overall. Her classes are fun and you learn a lot. She's just absolutely great!!
Dr. Strong is a phenomenal teacher. She is very clear up front about what is expected for the semester. Homework isn't due till you start the final (so procrastination was on me), practice tests are similar to the actual tests, and there is no guessing when it comes to figuring out how to get the grade you want. I appreciate how straightforward she is about class rules and grading. As for the lectures, they are not mandatory but they are helpful. I wasn't riveted all semester, but she kept the material interesting enough to pay attention to. If you come to class, you get clicker points for bonus at the end of the semester. She does use every single minute of class time, so don't expect to be let out early ever; however, it's also rare for her to run over time. Tests are imbedded partial credit multiple choice with a minimum of +7 available bonus.
Dr. Strong makes it very clear up front what she expects. Although I was in a 300-person class, she took the time to answer questions. Her lectures made sense, and notes from the day's lecture are posted online after class. This makes it easy to catch up if you miss a day. She is very approachable and willing to help you out if you need it.
Dr Strong is a friendly and entertaining physics teacher- though sometimes she will condescend someone in class. She works all the problems in class and teaches you physics the easy way. Multiple bonuses on all the exams including the final, and attendance quizzes add up for more course bonus. You should have an easy A in this class.
This class is not hard if you keep up with the homework. Do not let the homework pile up on you; it is due on test days. The tests are partial credit multiple choice, so if you know your stuff, you should pass easily. Dr. Strong does a good job of teaching. Attendance is extra credit after a certain point. STUDY THE PRACTICE TESTS.
I personally have a hard time with physics. Dr. Strong gives you every possible chance to pass the class short of just giving out grades. Show up to class for clicker points and it will raise your final grade a letter. I had to put absurd amounts of time into this class, again, that is just me.
Very helpful. Very Precise. Very Clear. Loves to teach and you can definitely tell. Material is on the tougher side, but she gives you every possible opportunity to comprehend it and pass the class. My Go-To physics teacher.
Best professor ever!
Get a 100 on the homework, but don't worry too much about it. Come to every class to get clicker points; they can dramatically boost your grade at the end of the semester. The main thing to do is the practice tests. Learn those extremely well, and you will do extremely well on the tests.
Amazing woman. She is very funny and very very nice! As long as you do the homework and read at least a little, as well as do clicker questions, you are golden. Tests are graded fairly well, and as long as you got close, you can expect some points. Very easy woman to love and learn from.
Dr. Strong is a tremendous professor who really wants her students to succeed. The homework can be long and quite difficult, but don't get discouraged it's not indicative of the tests. Tests are all multiple choice with partial credit. Go to class and get the clicker points, because they can raise you nearly an entire letter grade.
If you show up to every class, you can get up to 10 points added to your final average (80 averaged up to a 90). Every time you come to class she gives you bonus points. Hw is harder than the tests so don't panic. She loves helping students.
When I had her for Physics 1 and 2, she was a great teacher. To me, she was a better teacher for Physics 2. I did like learning about the mechanical physics, but I enjoyed the Physics 2 a little more. Even though Physics is not my major (Math is my major), she did a good job teaching. The clicker points saved my A in the classes.
Fair class. Didn't learn a lot in the lectures-the homework, office hours, and practice tests taught the most- and ended up guessing on some of the tests. Three partial credit embedded tests, extra credit, and homework. Very helpful in office hours. Dr. Strong is hilarious.
This class is honestly an easy A. Tests are multiple choice and you get partial credit for wrong answers. The only reason I went to class at all was to do the clicker questions (which gives you a ton of extra credit). Other than that, the lectures are pointless. Do the practice exams, and you'll do well on the exams (don't use the hw to study)
I was lucky enough to have Dr. Strong for Physics 1 & 2, she's a great and enthusiastic professor. Tests can be pretty difficult at times, I'd recommend going over the study guides and all of the concepts prior to exams. Homework is really difficult, so don't worry too much about it. If you get the chance, you must take Dr. Strong, she's wonderful!
Easy professor (easy A) for Physics 1. Just look over the practice tests before each test and they should be a breeze. Clicker points are required to a certain point, after which they become bonus. The online homework (WileyPlus) is tedious, but way harder than the tests. All multiple choice tests, but you can get partial credit for certain answers
Cannot recommend her enough. I made an A on all the tests just by reviewing the study guides a little either one or two days before. Plus, you get so much bonus credit from clicker questions that you are all but guaranteed to pass. Only downside is that more often than not, you're guaranteed a Friday afternoon class.
She cares about students (and understandably gets annoyed when they don't reciprocate). There were some concepts I thought she could have explained more optimally, but everything she said made sense. You can make up to a 107 on most exams with bonus questions. I made a 5 on the high school algebra physics AP, so this class was pretty easy for me.
I love Dr. Strong. She teaches well, and she genuinely cares about her students.
I love Carol Strong. She is an amazing teacher who genuinely cares about her students and their futures. Her class is not the most difficult, but I believe that is because she definitely knows how to teach. I had her for Physics I and II and could not have been happier with my choice of professor.
Best option for PH111 and 112. Thorough lectures and plenty of extra credit through clicker questions. Ample practice material that closely models tests (which are partial credit+multiple choice). There is no reason anyone should fail Strong if they take it seriously, and may even enjoy the course itself.
Great Proff. Gives a lot of resources and is very organized. However, I had an 89 and she didn't give me the A. Very stingy with final grades
Dr. Strong gives so much extra credit to help all the plebs through that what should be a really difficult course isn't even that bad. Do the homework for what she lectured in class right after class so its fresh and you will understand everything pretty well.
Dr. Strong was a good professor. She really helps you understand physics.
Between the multiple-choice tests with partial credit, bonus points on each test, and the final scaling from clicker questions, I don't see how anyone can fail this course. Dr. Strong isn't an exceptionally great teacher, but she gives an easy A.
Dr. Strong is a good choice for physics. If you are a physics major, she can really help you learn. If you aren't into physics, like me, you can still get a decent grade as long as you put in some effort. Also, make sure to not skip class as clicker points can potentially lead to a massive bonus to your overall grade. Every bonus point is worth it.
I never understood any of the lectures, but the tests are manageable. Show up to class for the extra credit clicker points, they can boost your grade a whole lot. Dr Strong is an understanding professor and always available outside of class. I recommend her for any physics class
Can't go wrong with taking her due to all of the partial credit on multiple choice tests and overall scaling of the grades. If you want to actually learn the materials maybe you should take Chronis. I haven't pay any attention in class and I've been getting C's on every test by purely guessing, and somehow I still got an A for PH111 last semester.
Dr. Strong is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She wants all of her students to do well and genuinely cares about you. She is one of the main reasons I switched from an engineering major to physics. DO NOT SKIP HER CLASS. All the attendance is based off the clicker points which can give you almost 2 full letter grades on your final grade.
You can't go wrong with taking Dr. Strong due to all of the partial credits on tests and the bonus points from the clicker questions. I didn't take notes all semester and guessed on every single test but I still ended up with a B this semester and an A for Physics 1.
Had her for physics 1 & 2. Skipped class about 50% of the time both semesters. Got an A+. Thats all you need to know. Strong is the GOAT.
She is incredible. Take her if you can.
Strong does several good things, such as partial credit, bonus points, and the like. However, she threatens all students due to one being rowdy. This stops her from doing her job, even though she is being paid to teach her students. Her style is often condescending if she is asked a question by a student, and acts like the answer is always obvious
First off, let me say that physics is extremely difficult. I made 60s and two 70s on my exams but passed with a B so you've got this. honestly you could guess on all the exams and pass. Uses a lot of in class questions from the textbook.
As someone who did not take physics in high-school, the way she presented her examples really didn't work for me. I was almost always lost and confused. However, my friends who had taken physics in high-school generally really liked her.
Strong is a good choice if you want physics to be an easy class. She does a good job teaching the material but tends to get several chapters ahead in the material before older material is tested, and doesn't do any sort of in class review. However, I still did fine in the class. In class clicker questions offer a bunch of bonus points.
She teaches phys w/calc like everyone in the class has already been exposed to physics, so since I had never taken physics it was really difficult. The clicker questions in class are vital if you're a borderline student, and she does give partial credit on tests/exams. I don't like how lecture/tests are disjointed, but everything is on Panopto.
Dr. Strong is the best Physics professor on the UAH campus. I am 100% taking her again where I can. Lectures are easily understood and she gives the students the baby steps they need to learn the material. She gives lots of homework, but it is necessary to pass the class.
Dr. Strong is a very organized professor. You will find many resources on Canvas to help you with the class. I can tell she cares a lot about her students too, as she is as transparent as possible with us about grades and such. The tests are challenging, but the homework prepares you, and theres lots of partial credit and bonus on the tests.
Physics 1 and 2 Dr. Strong has the largest class at UAH. And she commands it! The class must respect her and pay attention and participate. She teaches well and has many examples that will be on the tests.
she treats you like 5th graders and doesnt teach. she spends half the class lecturing about it is her time to teach but she doesnt teach.
She acts like a kindergarten teacher. She will get upset if there is even the slightest bit of talking in her class. Besides her horrible attitude, she is also a terrible professor. All she does is work a few problems where she skips tons of steps and does not explain any concepts. I would never recommend that anyone takes Dr. Strong's class.
She moves fast in lectures without thoroughly explaining; if you ask a question she will sound condescending in her answer. She will attempt to punish the class over a few students talking (who can't even be heard, just seen), and blame them. Overall comes across as rude and hard to follow. She will talk to you like a child. High School Part 2
My favorite professor at UAH. Dr. Strong makes you work like crazy, her class is super hard, but she gives all her students little breaks which makes it worth it. Her lectures are long but if you understand what shes doing, youre golden. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed
A great choice for Physics. All exams are multiple choice with partial credit given for reasonable answers. I really dont like her phone policy, I think it is counterproductive. Often she treats the class as a glorified high school class than college but she teaches well and she is very fair so the good outweighs the annoying.
Dr. Strong is one of the best professors at UAH. I have taken 4 classes with her so far. Go to her office hours, sit in the front of her class, and get to know her. She wants her students to succeed. If you're confused on material, go to her office and she will explain in greater detail. Put in effort if you want an A in her class. She's phenomenal
Dr. Strong is a good professor and she clearly knows Physics. However, her lectures sometimes skip over key elements and dive right into problems without explanation, which may be a problem for those without prior Physics knowledge. Her tests are quite easy if you study the sample exams, and she gives a nice extra credit bonus, too. Good choice.
Knows a lot about physics, but isnt able to hold the respect of a college classroom. Teaches students as a middle school teacher with empty threats. Gets fed up with the disrespect of students who dont care and is too focused on making them pay that she wastes time for the rest of us. I was excited to learn physics, but always left discouraged.
My class seemed worse than usual, so she eventually had to give guidelines to make sure we kept quiet, which were necessary. This just shows that she cares about getting the info to her students. Further, she posts lectures to Panopto, and used that during quarantine. Pro tip: go to her office hours and ask her about Nosferatu. She'll remember you.
Literally the best professor I've ever had. She gives you all the material you need to do well and is super helpful in office hours. She cares a lot about her students and does everything in her power to make sure her students understand the material. I had her for PH111 and PH112 in 2017-2018. If you can get in, definitely sign up for her class.
Mechanics is a hard class and Dr. Strong really does an amazing job at teaching it. If you study the homework before the homework quizzes, you'll be golden. Make sure you understand ALL of the homework before exams. Dr. Strong works hard on her lectures so she expects the same amount of effort from you. Take this professor if you want to learn.
She still does great lectures and shes good at keeping a good schedule that helps the students deal with online. The problem lies in the homework and addition of Dr. Chronis. The homework is far too much in both this and 111 but now you cant just get the answer and move on, and Chronis designed the tests and they are way too much.
I really think Dr. Strong suffered from having to lecture online, as I had heard that she was a great professor for in-person classes, but I just didn't find much use in paying attention to her lectures, especially after the tests were reformatted to be open book. I do think she knows her stuff, though. I just wish I could have had her in person.
Overrated. She's a great person, but her classes are not informative. Only reason to go is to know what to read in the textbooks. Unfortunately, the only professor for this course. Skips entire sections because, "Guys, you know this," when in fact we do not know this. Does not answer questions well in class. Great person, hate the class.
Dr. Strong does not answer questions well in class. Constantly cuts students off before they finish their question. Or tells them "go read a text", no page number, chapter, or other helpful suggestion. Her TA's are ok graders. Assigns test for Fri/Sat instead of class days so she can get an extra lecture in. If you can, avoid this class.
She was by far the worst teacher I've had at UAH. Lectures were nothing like exams and homework. Save your grade and go with the other options.
Her teaching was ok. When compared to what we are taught and what is expected in Chroniss exams, it is very different. The exam was near possible when my knowledge was based on what Strong taught.
Lectures were online. She's okay a lecturing, better than Chronis. Definitely do your homework, it is worth 50% of your grade. The final is kind of hard. The tests are based on the homework but they're still hard. Recommend office hours.
Here's the run down; PH111 has been going through restructurings to make a better course, and unfortunately, it was a fail this semester. This class is hard to teach, but with simplistic lectures, mind-numbingly hard homework, and even worse exams, the lectures set you up for failure. I beg, please use PASS, office hours, and Physics friends.
Ridiculously hard homework that is impossible without outside help. The lectures dont cover how to do the homework problems. When you go to office hours she sometimes doesnt know how to do the homework problems. Please save yourself while you still can.
One of the worst professors at UAH. Her lectures covered little-to-no conceptual problems, any questions you asked would get glossed over or she would treat you like you were an incompetent child, and the numerical problems she covered were nothing like the homework. Tests, homework, and final had NO partial credit. Very uncaring and condescending.
I'm sure Dr. Strong is a great in-person teacher, however, with online schooling that was not the case. Lectures that didn't make sense, overwhelming homework that did not correlate, no partial credit or help with homework, all being done on a thrid party website that is run by other people. This class killed my appeal to physics.
The worst class I have taken at UAH. This class makes calculus B look like a cake walk. The last announcement received said "you need to teach yourself." For a second, I thought I was enrolled in a class to learn...I guess I was wrong. She also does not care. With a final average of a 57% will you be the one who passes? (no curve)
Apparently she was a good in-person teacher but her online class is abysmal. You don't really learn anything from her lectures, so instead you end up just googling every single homework problem. The home works are so difficult and so far-removed from her lectures that they take days on end to finish. Truly disappointed in UAH's Physics department.
When you get a message from the professor that says "teach yourself" then it makes me wonder why I am enrolled in the class to begin with. The average final was failing. No curve btw. One of my worst professors.
For anyone not named Albert Enstein, her physics class is ridiculously hard. Lectures barely cover anything and the substantial homework isnt really covered in her lectures. Entire class failed final and she didnt care. Just shows how poor of a teacher she is (online at least).
She even doesn't know to solve homework problems. Lectures don't help to do any homework or exam. Buy Chegg to do homework. If you ask a question, you will get a reply "teach yourself." She is not helpful at all. One of the worst professors at UAH. Don't enroll with her, if you want to learn physics and get a good grade.
Absolutely terrible. Said final would be like homework but the final was nothing like the homework. The average was about a 50, and of course, Professor Strong didnt care. It doesnt matter though because the university doesnt care.
Physics 2 with Dr. Strong was the worst class I've ever taken. Homework is worth 50% of your grade, and exams were almost identical to the homework. The final wasn't written by Dr. Strong or like anything we did in class. The class average was a 50, with no curve. She didn't round final grades up, so if you get a 59.6 enjoy taking PH112 again!
This class doesn't help to do the final test. The Final is unnecessarily hard. The exam is from another instructor, which makes no sense. No help for anything. No review and no sample questions before the exam. Exam is completely different from homework. If you ask something, you will get a reply "teach yourself". Good luck if you have to take her.
This class was ran by both Dr. Strong and Dr. Chronis. Dr. Strong did the lectures and she was very engaging and nice. Sadly, Dr. Chronis created the exams so there was a level of disconnect between the lecture and exam content in terms of difficulty. Can't say the same if the class was in person or at least solely ran by Dr. Strong.
She's leaving this semester anyway, but I should have listened the reviews below. UAH has a serious problem in their Physics and Math departments when it comes to teachers.
This class sucks and absolutely terrible. She cant teach and she didn't care about her students. She is leaving anyway.
I took Dr. strong a few years ago and just came back to say that she's awesome. She is a very good professor.
Dr. Strong is a pretty good professor, and she is one of the most caring teachers I've ever had at UAH. Unfortunately, she is leaving after this semester.
