if you're a guy and you want to lift weights, don't take her. she makes the weight training class turn into an aerobics class, and you don't really have time to lift. She would only be good if you are a girl and want it easy.
She doesn't break the steps down well. Lot of students in the class are confused because she doesn't mark the choreography. She's real nice, but I prefer Pate as an instuctor.

She's cool and fun. She really helps you understand health and fitness better. It's a great workout and she works you out until you sweat!
Her routines are not that hardcore. Even though she's very nice, I rather have exercise that makes me sweat. Some of her routines are more for dancing.

Really nice person. Class is fun except when she adds some new steps. Some of her steps are more dance related and you feel stupid doing them. I really don't feel comfortable doing the mambo or shaking my ass back and forth in front of class.
her pilates class is too easy. I didn't break a sweat once. I was expecting to work out harder, so it was disappointing. SHe also had a multiple choice midterm and final (WTF?); if you need to take PE, take Lee Pate.
Pretty easy class. Some of the moves are kinda lame. She likes to showcase the guys up front a lot of the time. Great attitude though.
This teacher made coming to class very fun. She goes over the reading in class b/c it's on the midterm. I thought she was great and gave lots of motivation. You should take her.
took her for step class and adv. aerobics. The class is too easy and you don't really get a good workout if you already exercise on your own. She's excellent for those who haven't worked out in awhile, but the routines get reptitive. Otherwise, she has a lot of enthusiasm and very energetic.

step training with carol sullivan is sooo fun. This is a great class. She is so nice and sweet. Take her class. GREAT TEACHER!!!!!!!!

Brings aerobic energy to pilates, which is not a good mix. Inadequate warm up. Inconsistent counting. Easily distracted. Does not utilize class time (only spent 20-30 minutes exersizing). Dont take her Pilates class.
VERY easy class. pretty fun. lots of odd aerobics moves like "the pony???" and patty-cake. Great class for beginners. Take her class if you want an easy A but if you want a real workout, find another instructor.
DONT have any unexcused absences: i only had one but it lowered my grade from an A to a B! she needs some new tunes, the same dance mix every day got really old really fast. also, she has this creepy little flexible guy who always likes to "help her teach"; you would know what i mean if you saw him.
shez a great n esay teacher. i've learned many things about how to keep a great body shape n other health info. from this class. midterm n final are really easy if u studied her review sheet n those highlight in the textbook n she goes over with every readin assign which is a very nice thing to do for students.
UP SIDE - CLASS IS FUN. DOWN SIDE - TESTS ARE HARD.
in kin classes, you have to be good at the sport to get a high grade. here, you have to be peppy & put an effort so don't take it if you don't fit the bill. gives study sheets for written exams. allows make-up classes (since she only allows 2 cuts) & getting to know others in the class--a plus if you're a freshman. really helps you become thinner.
please dont ever take this class if you want to have a good workout. she is rude to students and not helpful
This class I always wanted to ditch because I hated walking around the school and people look at you. Everytime we start and end the class we have to do a HOOAH. But the class is pretty easy, just don't miss class and you'll pass with a very good grade. I didn't buy a book still got a B in the class.
DO NOT TAKE HER if you want to work out. For the whole semester, we did not start the class on time not even once. She is rude and should not be teaching. Hard tests.
TAKE HER! She is fun, outgoing, and nice. Bring the book when she tells you and highlight everything she says-- that's the clue for an A in the class. Don't miss more than 2 times. Better if you volunteer to be her assistant so that you get a better grade.
i got an A in her class. but her exams are way to difficult for a 1 unit course! yup, she ends her classes with a woo-hoo! working out is pretty easy. but she ALWAYS starts class 15-20 mins late, and then let's you out late. she'll give you a dirty look if you leave on-time. she's rude. i wouldn't recommend her class. she is rude & not all that!
She is pretty good. She always starts late and end late though. She really gets your heart working...I was sweaty every day after class. You have a midterm and a final that you should study for because they are not that easy. Buy the book and highlight was she says. The music she uses is pretty cool, but this is an intense work-out class! Good luck
If you want a good Pilates workut, this is not your class. She is always late, and does not push you hard enough. Her tests are easy if you read the few highlighted sections from your book once.
IF you want a work out, do Not take this class. i had to go to the gym and do my normal workout routine anyways- even efter class. ONE hour of my devotion to this class, left me with a 10 minute easy workout...and i was in ADVANCED aerobics! HA.
Don't take her steptraining class if you're going to be tardy! She'll f-ing hold a grudge for it & then f-up your grade for it. When evaluating my skills, she gave me a 3/5 for it while others around me who didn't do as well got 4+! I sat down on the side b/c I had the flu & didn't have any strength left. She gave me a no participation! No sympathy
She really tries to motivate students to have fun exercising. I enjoyed her class and lost weight too! The tests are a bit hard, especially since some of the questions are not in the textbook. Pay attention to the textbook because she pulls almost all the exam questions out of it. I would take another class with her.
By the time you work up a sweat the class is over, she plays favorites, and has too may students to keep an eye on.

Took the class wanting to exercise, but her class is a waste of time! In a 50-min class, we worked out 15 min per day. Takes forever for her to set-up, then she lectures for a while too. Tests were pretty hard for a pe class. Really had to study.
Shes enthusiastic about her classes, but she spends more time talking than actually working out. She is always at least 10 minutes late to the class, and we don't get alot done.
She is very nice! Her classes are so much fun. You get a very good workout with Mrs. Sullivan. Her exams are not too bad. There is only one midterm and one final. Some advice...volunteer to be one of her assistants....the extra credit can go towards some missed classes because she only allows up to 3 missed classes.
i took pilates with her and it was great! i noticed a change in my body. i was an "aid" so i took out the class mats every meeting (which ensures a good grade). i also went to the fun aerobithon and got extra credit. she lets you have 2 excused classes per semester and any others can be made up. tells you what is on the exams
Fitness Walking Class was a wonderful way to de-stress. Carol has a mid-term and final but she tells you EXACTLY what will be on the tests. 2 absences allowed. You will get out late (always)- and you will be sweaty - so bear that in mind when you schedule your classes. Highly recommended.
Carol is great! So full of energy and has a great sense of humor. Anyone who thinks this will be an easy class that they can blow off shouldn't take the class.It's hard work! I would take her again. In fact I am.

There is a midterm and a final which wasn't too difficult if you study. I would recommend going to every class, she only allows two absences. At the end of class we did ab exercises. I got a C on the midterm and missed one class, but I still got an A in the class.
Full of energy and lots of fun to take aerobics with! She is constantly singing along with the music and cracking jokes.
Honestly, step training is kind of ridiculous... BUT it IS tiring and I always feel good after class (minus the sweat). Her review sheets for the exams are tricky, so just make sure you study those a little more. She does weird moves sometimes, but it's funny. I enjoy catching her singing to the music during workouts.
WORST teacher EVER! If serious about working out and getting in shape, DO NOT take her. Comes in at start time then makes you "warm up" for 15 min. while she gets her act together. Wastes time talking about nothing. Work outs suck, music is dated, moves are boring, and uninspired, seems like she makes them up as she goes. She is not a motivator.
Waste of time! Do not take her class is you want a good workout! The other teachers are much better! Every other week an entire class period is book work. She wastes lots of time and you get maybe a 20 min workout. This class rarely worked up a sweat. Way too much time spent talking about the book. Its aerobics, shouldn't we be working out??
I love this woman. She's super sweet and makes class fun. However, she uses the textbook WAY too much for an aerobics class. Sometimes we didn't even get to work out because we had to go through a few chapters during class. Go to the Aerobicthon that she holds every Dec. if you get the chance, it's so much fun!
Her attendance policies and lecture days are ridiculous. I thought it was pointless to have to buy a textbook for a pe class! She does give you a decent workout, or at least i got one.

basically if you want to lose weight, take someone more planned. She comes in about 5 minutes late and takes 10 to 15 minutes setting up. I drove from morgan hill and was there on time, she has no excuse. Also she is extremely dated. And she cant remember a thing she said by the next class. mildly entertaining but mainly frustrating
trust me i was very mad that i got stuck with fitness walking, but she made the class a lot better. she loves what she does and is a cool teacher

I had her for aerobics, and she made it really fun. The moves are easy and pretty comprehensible. You actually sweat after an aerobic workout which really surprised me. The midterms and final is off of the book and you will do well if you do her study guides.
If you want a long work out dont take her class, she usually shows up about 10 minutes after class starts, she is very funny though. Midterm and final are worth studying for
I took aerobics with her and it was relatively easy. Midterm was harder than the final but as long as you read what she told you to highlight in the book you'll do fine. You have to remember the aerobics routine because she grades you on it, but its not hard because you practice the routine basically the whole semester.
This class was a bit of a joke. She comes in literally 15 min late, you do really low resistance cardio for about 10 min, and the real stuff for another 10 min. Even though it's a kickboxing class you don't really kickbox. Overall, really silly but she was entertaining I guess. Attendance is also mandatory, which is silly as well.

I hate her. She puts you on blast in front of your peers. She is always late her own classes, leaving only 20 minutes for fitness walking. Not only that, what is up with the folders? Are we in kindergarten? And she was so adamant about having a photo of ourselves taped to our fitness walking record card. I never understood that.

the dances were pretty hard, and multiple choice exams were actually more difficult than expected, just be sure to highlight they key points that she outlines during the pre-exam study session and you'll do fine.

Class was easy. I had the 7:30AM class, she came on time.. but it takes a good 10 minutes for everyone to sign in and set up... routines are easy and barely sweat unless using the 2 risers on each side. Midterm & final are multiple choice, book is necessary to pass the exams because they come straight from it. Fun professor, fun class.

you have to attend class..she is very strict on attendance. Also, she really does use her textbook! You have 2 tests in the class...that are written! it is really boring class she does the same moves each time and her tests are hard...I would recommend takin aerobis with another professor not with her..shes getting too old for aerobics.
Funny lady, but horrible PE instructor. She treats this class like a joke. She shows up 10-15 minutes late every time, spends at least another 10-15 minutes talking and reading to us from the textbook (as if we don't know how to read) leaving only 20 minutes to work out. And exam questions come out of left field!

Okay, this old lady just really SUCKED. She talks forever leaving you about 15 minutes to work out. The routine made me feel so lame every time we had to chassé from left to right. The routine gets worst as the semester progresses! You'll need to buy a $70 book and read it for the midterm and final. Please, just find someone else. Seriously.
Very easy class. As long as you show up everyday, and use the study guide for the midterm and final, you should have no problem getting an A. You can only miss two classes without having points taken off your grade. I didn't expect to get a good workout in this class but I was surprised at how tired I was at the end of every class.
Prof is nice enough, but this is the worst group class I have EVER attended. A total waste of time if you like to work out. Routine and textbook are outdated. Prof 10-15 min late EVERY CLASS! Lucky if I break a sweat. Kicking myself for not dropping.
If you show up to class everyday you will be ok because you get 2 free days. However, after that you grade plummets. The midterm and final are so retarted though because the answers from the book are different from the test. Overall, the class wasn't great, definitely try and get someone else.

Do yourself a favor and do not take this class with this lady. She is crazy and has favorites. Carol's fitness walking class was fun, intense(great workout) and helpful. If I could I would take this course again. We do use a textbook for it and we have a midterm/"quiz" and a final. Just show up to class or participation goes down.Take this class!
I thoroughly did NOT enjoy this teacher. She came late to class EVERY day! Then she would take 20 minutes talking before even starting the warmup. This class was THE MOST ridiculous class. SUCH A WASTE OF TIME! She is funny and spunky but kinda of slow. Light workouts, don't get book, quiz & HW are tricky Q's. She is unclear. Don't take!

Took step training with her and it was pretty fun. You'll break out in a sweat each class. Textbook is mandatory, so if you're taking it with a friend I suggest you share a book. Make sure you're there for class. There's a midterm & a final, so you'll have to study for that. Do the extra credit if she offers it.

Her class for begin. wt training is easy BUT...Shows up late every day. Barely covers what will be on her tests. Definitely has class favorites without a doubt. Overall I'd be lucky to get a decent work out because she takes too damn long on everything. If you are planning to get a legit work out take a different instructor.

She was awful! Her test questions make little sense. She stalls class too much. If you are just trying to take a random class to boost your gpa, don't take this one, I got a B. If you are trying to get a work out, this class rarely will give you one.
There was no textbook and she was really nice! A very easy class (beginners jogging). She lets you walk if you get tired. If it's raining you do activities inside and you can really see yourself getting better at jogging without really trying. Lots of easy exercise and she cares about her students. I would recommend her.

She is very nice and energetic. The only thing I would complain about this class was that she wasn't very clear on the test reviews. You don't really need the book, her review sheets can be completed with google. Pretty easy over all.
