GREAT teacher! gave many helpful handouts and explained material thoroughly. made healthcare fun and interesting. i learned how to take a blood pressure & became CPR certified in her class. just take good notes on what she says in class & you'll do fine.

Took medical terminology online. Very easy however final exam is done in class and consist of 60 fill in word parts and about 100 multiple choice. If you take the online class make sure you study and not use your book for every test because it will catch up to you at the end.

carol thomas was my favorite teacher in my whole time at SFCC. she has experience in the real world in this field, uses it to help her students. not too easy=better for students who are serious about a HC career. very easygoing and funny but knowledgable too. understanding of students w/ families, important to me. really nice lady, she's very willing to help you out. The textbook is pretty self explanatory...as long as you fill out EVERYTHING you will be ok. lots of studying but she makes it kinda fun. take her.

Wonderful interaction in this fascinating language of medicine class. Summer A crammed material-seems like endless memorization-but super teacher. Helps students relate w/real life examples, brings in real organs-extremely helpful to visual learners. Carol is ever helpful and happy. Basically free 5 extra credit points ea test. GREAT CLASS!!

A wonderful lady and really wants you to pass. If you ever have any trouble just talk to her, she'll take time out of her life to set aside for you and have study hours.

Do not take Ms. Thomas online. All of the MT online students take the same test but Thomas is the last one to inform grades. She is one of the teachers that makes up the test but she is not very helpful on what to study. I heard she is a very good teacher to take if you attend class on campus. Thomas also takes about a week to answer e-mails.

Ms. Thomas was such a great professor. I really liked her. She has a great sense of humor and actually made learning medical terminology interesting. She offers review sessions twice a week which are very helpful. I highly recommend taking this class.

Carol is a wonderful teacher with knowledge beyond the courses she teaches. She has great ways of explaining the material and always has time for explaining it in different ways until everyone is comfortable. I highly recommend Carol for the Med Term class.

Ms. Thomas was really confusing at first with her clarity of what she wanted us to know but got a lot better as the semester went on. She's tough but you learn so much in this class. Her tests are hard and you HAVE to study and take notes but as long as you do that then you should be fine

Took class Spring 2009 Online. Lots of memorizing. Would only take in a half term with other classes you are confident about. Not that the material is hard, but you are memorizing a BUNCH of body parts, terms, diagrams, word parts, disease and disorder terms, and treatment terms for each system!

There is alot of memorizing but she is there to help you in any way she can. She explains everything very well.

Ms. Thomas is an awesome teacher...some students found it difficult to grasp the material but mostly her class is memorization and studying. She gives clear notes...goes a little fast but i didnt mind. her labs are always fun and there is no way not to get an A for your labs. Her tests are fair no trick questions...and I LOVED HER!! If you have the chance to take her class...bottom line take this professor! She is awesome and helps as much as she can and really outlines everything that will be on her tests. There is no reason not to get an A in her class.

She is one of the nicest teachers but she gives you objectives to fill out to study for the test and then 3/4's of it isnt even on the test, study guides can be well over 20 pages long, that you have to make yourself. Alot of Busy work that is not necessary. I would reccomend this course online in short semester! Her tests are not Multiple choice.

Carol is so amazing the way she teaches. I loved her class especially ever Monday when we had to go on the board and write medical terms and meanings. She is fun, kind, an a pleasure to have. She is strict on attendance but that is for the good of the students because if you miss class you cant catch up easily.

Professor was helpful when asked. In-class assignments were often difficult because they were given before sufficient answering information. Still a good class overall. Held optional extra study sessions outside of class time. Gave extra credit. She really invested in the students' learning.

Great person and she is a pretty good teacher. She will help you out whenever you need it and holds study sessions outside of class time to help you do well on tests. Test were a little hard; a lot of fill in the blank and written response questions, but if you study and attend class you can for sure do well. Lots of extra credit.

MrsThomas is an awesome teacher!! The tests are hard though, only having her class twice a week makes you have to study twice as hard, and remember everything!! for attendance, you get extra credit points for showing up mondays but have tests everyy wednesday. one thing i hate is her grading scale, its not like normal ones!

She's a very hands on teacher and attendance is very important to her. You will leave the class having learned something. The only thing is she has these things called activites that count for a daily grade & she does not always make it clear when to put those in so that can mess up your grade. Class is mostly based on test.

Shes a good teacher and will help if asked, but her texts and grading scale is completely on another level. And she never gives out test grades for nearly a week after a test, and its really annoying, especially for only having her class twice a week. Wish she was more organized

I love her teaching style, she pulls concepts from the book explain them fully out to you and then test you on the same things you learning in class. Studying is required for in-depth understanding but other than that, go to class, study and you will pass no problem!

Great teacher good relation between unit objectives and test questions(1/2multiple choice 1/2short answer)class attendance does impact grade but she also provides lots extra credit opportunities. Test questions aren't tricky or unreasonably difficult and accurately reflect lecture notes and unit objectives.

A wonderful professor who will give you insight into the health care field in this class. Her tests arent always worded clearly, but you can ask her to clarify what she is asking. There is extra credit, and she gives out study guides which help a lot on the tests. Take this class if you're interested in the health professions.

I took Mrs. Thomas for Intro to Healthcare and for Medical Terminology. She is an amazing teacher, especially for med term. She has drills outside of class that were really helpful. Only thing about her Intro to Healthcare class is there is stuff on the tests that wasn't gone over. She does offer alot of extra credit.

I took Carol Thomas for both Medical Terminology (received an A) and Intro to Health Care (received a B). She is an excellent teacher! She enjoys what she is teaching and wants all of her students to be successful in her classes. But if you think a good grade is going to be handed to you then I would walk away from anything health care related.

Ms. Thomas is amazing! She offers 3 pts extra credit for all 14 exams. 1 examweek. This class will prepare you not only for other health sciences classes, but for your future career. Thomas offers tutoring time nearly every week. Exams are 50 questions. As long as you study 15 minutes every day you should be able to pass the class with AB

Prof Thomas is great! There are 14 tests, 1 per week. Final exam is optional. But, she gives 3 extra credit points for each test. Class is very interesting and she helps memorize terms by doing drills on the board. I would recommend her to anyone!

Gives extra credit on every test if you are there for the previous class period. There is a bunch of information but she gives you enough information to know what you'll be tested on. The class isn't easy but only because there is a ton of information and it's all memorization.

I enjoyed her class... very helpful & gives you 3 pts extra credit on a test if you do the extra credit work. Some of the exams were so opinionated and I feel that it wasn't on what the objectives had listed. Overall, I would take her again! Great Professor. OH! I hate the grading system for Health Class, I earned a 84 which is considered a C+

She was great. Do the review study guides. Whatever is on them will be on the test. If you go into office hours she will really help you. Shes a great professor. Her test are fairly easy, she has a quiz every class and counts 10 of the 14 you take all semester. Since its not hard material its not a hard class.

Exam every Tuesday, so be ready. Amazing teacher though, love her! Stay on top of the chapters and terms and you will do just fine! Every Thursday you get on the board and practice the terms, and then on Tuesday is the quiz for it. Attendance is not mandatory or part of the grade, but you have to take the quiz somehow so you do have to come Tuesday

Do not take if you're not ready to put in the work. Studying is a necessity to pass. Tests every Tuesday on a new chapter. The class is all memorization. I made flashcards every week and had to study anywhere from 150-300 a week. If thats not a problem for you then the class won't be a problem. She is a nice teacher and very helpful.

She teaches this class in such an interactive way that you learn and remember the material for quizzes and exams. She is very knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. If you want to have a good foundation in Health Science, take this class and medical terminology with her.

She knows what shes doing and is a very nice understanding teacher. Study and you'll be fine. I'm taking her again next semester.

Her lectures helped me understand the material after reading the textbook. You do have to use the textbook a ton and study a lot. There are quizzes every class, but at least 4-6 are dropped and 10 are kept. She does lectures as well as group work and demonstrations. She cares about all of her students success and will help however she can.

This is probably one of my most favorite teachers at santa fe. She literally gives you the answers for each quiz (which are so easy). She drops like 6 quizzes out of 12 but theyre extremely easy. Theres 5 tests and one final. Amazing teacher.

I really enjoyed this professor. She is very caring and works very hard to ensure that people pass. She gives extra credit (you actually have to go to class for it) and is VERY honest about what you will be tested on. This class does take a lot of time studying, but it is totally doable. Just study and make flash cards. Fun class!

Great professor. Communicates well and provides lots of extra credit. However, Medical Terminology seems like a self-paced class so you're very welcomed to get ahead but can easily fall way behind. If you do she will offer help outside class if you reach out to her. Make sure she puts in your extra credit for every unit you finish.

Class was more on the memorizing side of learning. She give you good tools to help you along the way, like handouts. She does in class drills to help you learn the material, and even tries to schedule other out of class times to help you study! This class is mainly up to you though, keep up with your tests and use quizlet for flashcards!!
