Brilliant teacher and a very accomplished woman. She can get moody at times, especially if you have her in lab. So be careful. She's not exactly Mother Teresa, but neither is she the antichrist. Hard class. Her style is strictly pwrpoint and talking as opposed to Covill (who is pen and board). Study really hard, especially the DETAILED lab quizzes.

Great teacher, answers all questions carefully and thouroughly... Tough matierial but, if you study you'll do just fine.

Pro Tydell is helpful, attend class & take notes, 2 small essays on exams lets u know in advance the essay ?'s. Lab is easy. Her studyguide is the test. Will answer questions, really nice. Can pass the class with an A if you attend all classes, review notes, do studyguide, and make an effort. Overall she is an easy phys 151 instructor.

Tydell is awesome She is crystal clear in her instruction. She will give study guides and inform you what the essay question is. Easy grader, her labs are somewhat easy, she breaks concepts down to easy step by step instruction. She makes phys 151 easy, but you do have to study. Her door is always open I wish she was teaching Micro!!

Mrs. Tydell is so smart her knowledge is tips the scale. She is nice person and very clear in her lectures and does not get attitude when you ask her a question. I've learned a lot in her class and she gives study guides for exams and essay question.

She is an awesome teacher who cares for her student to pass her class. Record her lectures and do the studyguide and you will do fine. Go to her office hours for help . She gives good tips for nursing students. Take her for Lab but its hard. Remember always to have complete sentences on your lab data sheet/quiz/exam. I wish she was teaching Micro.

The first day of class she makes it seem like she's a hardcore, mean professor. She's not. She's very helpful and caring. She has powerpoints for every lecture.the class itself is hard. It's hard material to understand. She also gives you an EXTENSIVE study guide

Dr. Tydell is brilliant. She is easy to understand and made learning a difficult subject possible. Expect to participate in class. If you want to learn, I highly recommend taking her class. If you're looking for an easy A or do not fully intend on committing to the class, then look elsewhere. She is really helpful and I was truly impressed.

I love Dr. Tydell! Most of what I learned in bio came from her. She teaches so clear. The only way you don't learn is if you don't pay attention in class. If you have any questions you can always go talk to her during lab hours. You can tell she wants you to ask questions :). Just study for the quizzes and you'll be fine. Overall I'd recommend her

Getting an A is doable.If you’re going into a competitive field, an A is crucial. B’s in Anat,Physio won’t cut it during application time, don’t underestimate the likelihood that your entire undergraduate career will be looked at. Dr. Tydell is an AMAZING professor. The class is challenging but as long as you attend lectures, complete and understand the ENTIRE study guides (which took 1/2 day to an entire day to complete) then you are sure to pass the class. I got A's on all 4 exams and it was because I studied the power point slides along with the study guides.

Very helpful and approachable teacher, though at first she may seem intimidating. Her lectures are very clear and informative. Her study guides are extensive and extremely helpful when preparing for her tests. Attend lectures and do the study guides and you will do well in her class!

She is by far the most helpful instructor I've had in cerritos, she goes above and beyond to help all her students, especially her premed students. She is inspirational, very smart, pattionate and above all caring. I would highly recommend anyone to take her classes. You won't regret it.

This class is not easy but she is a good professor & is always willing to help. She begins the semester by saying you're not going to pass the class by memorizing everything & that you should really try to understand the material. The study guides are very important, you will do good on the tests if you take the time to really study the material.

I took her course as one of my first classes in college and she is an excellent professor. She goes over the subject well and is clear and thorough in her lectures. Her tests can be difficult but if use pay attention and study you'll pass this class easily. You'll come out of this class actually learning something )

I was nervous to take anatomy, but prof tydell actually made me have a genuine interest. As a visual learner, I found the lab to be easier to understand than the lecture. She does a good job of making the lecture part interesting by tying in stories and helpful memory tools. She is not strict in the lab and offers help when needed. I enjoyed it.

I had a hard time in this class. I tried my best to get good grades in the tests but it just didn't happen but I passed either way because of the lab and the homework. However Dr. Tydell is an excellent instructor. She is always there for you.

Dr. Tydell is very intimidating at first. She even once told me if I was ever late again she would, "Drop my ass." So don't be late lol. I liked her more and more as time went on. Ended up loving her towards the end, her lectures got better and better. This is a VERY HARD class so study alot and do your study guides as soon as she releases them.

I was so scared to take this class because it was the 1st anatomy class I've ever taken. However, Tydell put my fear at ease w/ her awesome lectures, motivating energy, and willingness to help always. She does expect you to WORK, this class is not easy what so ever; you must EARN your grade. It does help that she genuinely cares about your success.

Dr. Tydell was awesome ! The class is very hard tho , you must STUDY STUDY STUDY. Her analogies to help you understand this hard subject helped me a lot. Her door is always open if you need help , BUT make sure you know what your asking because if NOT she will make you feel like real small .

I enjoyed taking Dr. Tydell's class! It's anatomy/physiology; it will be difficult. The thing I loved about her is that she is not like other professors where she goes about talking about things not related to the material. I liked that she was strict. Don't take her if you're lazy. She does post study guides relevant to the exams, so you're safe.

AP 120 is not an easy class, but not the hardest either. Record the lectures to listen to later. Take notes and fill them in while listening to the lectures. Use the study guides she makes. Use the tutors in the study room. Do the homework (even though it doesn't help you learn, it gives you points). You can get an A or B if you do these things.

She is tough but it is because she cares and wants her students to do well and understand the topic! She emphasizes on understanding the material rather than memorizing. Everything she covers in lecture and everything she provides on the study guides are on the exam. It is a tough class but she tries to make it as easy to understand as possible.

Dr. Tydell is tough but a good teacher, she tries her best to explain the lectures and her labs are easy, you take a quiz every week generally about knowing and labelling body parts . I see how some students struggle, but if you do her study guides which are very similar to the tests, do the homework, and do good on the lab portion you'll pass.

Explains everything very detailed and is enthusiastic about lectures. Can be funny, cares about you actually learning not just memorizing and forgetting. Very very very picky about cell phones, and use of bathroom. Would reccomend, and would take her again :)

listen to her lectures! if you miss class, you'll miss a lot since she hints on what comes out on the exams. do her study guides as that will give you an idea what to study for her tests. anatomy is not an easy class, but if you make time to study and listen in her lectures, you will get an A for sure

Great professor, definitely prepared me for AP 150/151. Studied 5-8 hours a week for an A, her tests are straightforward (give you study guide) and does not try to trick you. If possible form a study group and use her quizlet and videos.

Tydell introduces you to medical or science-related career enhancing opportunities. She encourages us to read the book before class, and homework is online and based on the book. There are random extra credits, so take it if you can. There are 4 tests and no finals.

Tydell is very enthusiastic about the criteria and tries her best to explain it, but oftentimes is confusing with her analogies. The material itself is hard; you have to really connect the main ideas from what you learned from AP150. Study guides are provided and you answer one essay question; she gives 2 options of which essay question you answer.

I'm currently taking Carol Tydell for A&P 120. I first came into this class really nervous of how hard it was going to be, but as long as you study A LOT, you should pass! 4 tests, a lot of homework, and its also linked to a lab which you get a quiz every week (15 questions all fill in the blank). Gives you a study guide thats similar to tests!

Professor Tydell was great. Clear cut lectures and exams. You know exactly what you're getting on her exams and weekly lab quizzes. Put in the time to study and you'll be successful.

Tydell is such a great professor. She provides all the tools for you to succeed, so yes you will need to study for any a&p course of this level. Her lecture is so interesting. I'm probably going to take her for the 2nd time again because summer just wasn't enough for me to master the entire material. Tydell is excellent

Lectures off her PPT slides,Gives study guide which can b filled out by her slides. Ask her or th tutors about any Lec/Guide material u dont understand. Around 80% of HER Thurs. Lab quizzes has extra credit. Record her lectures for review. HAVE HER LECTURE NOTES READY so u dont copy off the board & waste time. Only downside is Hw sometimes its long

I loved Professor Tydell!! So inspirational and a true role model to bio majors taking courses with her. Her methods of teaching are effective and she cares about her students. 100% recommending her to incoming freshman!! Quizzes are easy, but a big percentage of overall grade and no chance for a retake if you miss any, so attendance is mandatory.

AMAZING! As the semester switched to online due to COVID, she made the class still interesting and DOABLE. She's very much available through zoom so if you take her, use her office hours. Some people don't understand her analogies (I think they're great), her office hours are the times she can clarify. Make time to study and you WILL PASS!

IF you are going into any medical profession YOU WANT Dr. TYDELL! she WILL MAKE YOU WORK, EXPECT A LOT but ... she is there every step of the way (Esp during Covid, I haven't felt abandoned by her ... like I have other profs ). IF you play her "game" right she's an Easy A . IF YOU ARE NOT INVESTED - she will be difficult. ENJOY

You won't regret taking her! This class is HARD. You must be DISCIPLINED. STUDY as much as possible and whenever you can. You have to understand the material and not memorize it. It is impossible to memorize. Her analogies help a lot! I wish I had her for lab as well! Her study guides are really helpful for the exams! Take her!

We used the connect McGraw Hill to complete our class homework. She provides study guide for each exam, the exam were open books, we were allowed to use the study guide and any notes but the exam are monitored through proctorial. She upload videos for each lecture every helpful! Do the assignments and get a good grade on the exams you will pass!!

Tydell is DIFFICULT, she expects only the best! And makes you work hard. She is clear in what she wants. Invest your time in her class. At 1st she seems intimidating but go to her office hours, show you are interested and get to know her- she is FASCINATING and she makes you fall in love with what you're teaching. She is incredibly kind and helpful

Keep in mind that she LOVES analogies (if u dont learn that way pls keep in mind) & will even test you on some, so you have to watch her lecture videos. Very kind and caring - let us to use notes on lec/lab exams/quizzes, but Id recommend trying to memorize if youre going onto 150/151. This was a great introductory class so I recc. taking it!

I had her for both lecture and lab and it was enjoyable and organized! It was not an easy A, you have to really study but she makes it very known what youll be tested on. At first it may feel overwhelming but if you stay on top of it, its not that hard. I loved her class and would def. take her again!

Keep up with her and you'll do just fine. Utilize everything she offers, including her tutors and office hours and you'll be well on your way to success. She is a wealth of knowledge inside the classroom and out. If you tend to procrastinate - this isn't the professor for you. PAY ATTENTION!

Prepare to take tests every other week study hard for exams that's where your grade is at ! was able to have hybrid on campus mostly online tests/exam on proctorio so beware also grammar counts! will be able to use notes and lecture print outs but there is a timer less than a min for each question

REALLY Great Professor. You can tell she has alot of knowledge in the medical field. If you want to succeed in this class learn to fully understand the materials. Her exams are straight forward . If you are able to explain every answer from the study guide you will be golden. Take her, she will push you to your limits.

She is one of the best professors I took in Cerritos. I have taken her for AP 120 and am currently taking her AP 151 lecture. She gives amazing analogies and the exam is straight from her lecture notes. Highly recommend taking her class. If you put in the work I guarantee you will pass this class above a B

Was such a great instructor. Always gives very good detailed lectures as well as with labs. Im more of a hands on learner so having the textbook was very helpful as with the lab manual. This class just needs dedication from the students and no procrastination.

Such a great professor. I took her for a&p 120 and its not an easy class but as long as you put in the work and study you should be good. Definitely focus on the lectures and the study guide she provides its your key to success. I recommend a tablet or laptop to take note makes it easy since it's a lot of information. Best of luck!

Dr. Tydell is a great professor, I took the lab class for Bio120 and it was a great experience. She deeply cares for the students and is more than willing to answer any questions one may have. Grades are mostly dependent on in-class quizzes that increase in difficulty, so be sure to study the lecture slides and go over lab procedures on top hat.

Tydell is a really good teacher if you want to understand! She can trail off but she provides great study guides and recordings of lectures. Physiology is tough but if you reach out to her tutors or go to her office hours you will succeed! Although your only grades are exams. If you fail one, you most likely will not receive an A.

Dr Tydell is a great teacher to have for physio. AP151 is a class you have to put work into. While the videos can be dense in info try reaching out to the tutor who can help clarify what to focus on. Also try answering the basic info on the studyguide and then add detail if ur struggling w/ learning everything. Not a class you can slack in.

One of the best professors I've ever had. You definitely need to go in knowing physio is a difficult subject and can be tough. But Dr. Tydell engages the class, makes it interesting to learn, and really is there to help you succeed. Listen to her when she says do the study guides! I would not have passed her tests without them. They really do help!

She used lots of analogies in her lecture, so be aware for those since it was gonna be in the test. Also, pay attention in class and all of the tests are based on the lecture powerpoint. If you need help, just come to her tutoring hours, it would help a lot and you can know what will be expected on the test.

This was my second time taking Physiology this time with Tydell so beware this subject is difficult but manageable. Tydell provides videos and study guides, lecture grade is based only on exams, so make sure to study! Lab is easy for the first exam, but gets harder for the second exam. Just study, attend office hours/tutoring, and you'll be okay.

Prof. Tydell was great! She has a real passion for teaching this subject and a genuine want for us to succeed. This is not an easy A type of class you have to work for your grade, but she makes the grading structure very accessible and simple for us to understand. I recommend using the study guides since it's so similar to the content on the exam.

She has a lot of resources when studying her lectures (recorded lectures, accessibility notes, slides, study guide) Her lectures can be confusing sometimes due to speed so always pay attention in class I recommend answering the questions in the study guide, everything you should know for exam is on it No pop quizzes, 4 exams (none are cumulative)

Professor Tydell is great for A&P 120! She provides plenty of study resources, though some of the exam questions can be tricky. She requires students to buy a online textbook and submit long assignments, which can be tedious, but I recommend doing it for the extra points

You can pass. I personally found this difficult due to that fact that it was just a harder course for me. ALSO SHE OFFERS EXTRA CREDIT (not a lot) , but trust me when I say this every point counts! She's a great professor, also if you show effort and attend and ask questions, she will appreciate that. DO NOT MISS LECTURE!

This class can be an easy A if you do the work. In regards to Dr.Tydell, her videos for all the lectures actually correlate with her class lecture. If you couple the videos and in person lecture, there is no reason why you should get anything less than a C. I think the class with her is a class I highly recommend.

There's 4 lecture exams which are relatively easy if you study!! Dr. Tydell is passionate about what she teaches which makes it more entertaining. I'd recommend finishing the study guide on time and review her lectures online a couple of days before the exam it really helps. But its overall a easy class if you put time and care into it.
